Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Huntley). Loved son of Harold Huffman (Abbotsford, B.C.) and the late June Huffman. POTVIN, Beth Mary - In loving memory of Beth Mary Potvin, who passed away at her son's residence on September 25th, 2008 while visiting her son in Fort Erie. Born in 1921 to Dassise and Albertine Lauzon in Chelmsford. She was raised in Copper Cliff. Beth married Lionel Potvin in Sudbury. They built their home in Dowling and Lionel died in 1978. She is survived by her son Paul (Alexandria), her sister Cecile Keall and predeceased by her brother Leo and her sister Helen Potvin. The last few years Beth lived at Extendicare York. Her ashes were buried with her husband in Maple Crest Cemetery in Dowling on October 6th, 2008. Charles from Extendicare York said the prayers. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late John Scott and the former Catherine Cockburn. Audrey married John Lightfoot on December 7, 1946, following that they lived in Owen Sound, St. Marys, Sudbury and London, returning to Stratford in 1979. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 8, Stratford. Beloved wife of the late John Edmund Lightfoot who predeceased her on August 11, 2007. Loving mother of John Lightfoot, Sudbury, Stephen Lightfoot (Brenda), Levack. Grandmother of Leah Ann (Jason), David and Stephen and great grandmother of Preston and Ryleah. Also survived by sister- in-law Hilda Hyde, Stratford, brother-in-law Alan Lightfoot, Vancouver, best friend Ethel Murray and several nieces and nephews. Marie, ON passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2008 in her 90th year. Viola was born in Sault Ste. Marie, ON on October 25, 1918. Viola, and her husband Jeff, lived in Sault Ste. Marie, North Bay and Sudbury ON while raising their three children. She was employed as a bookkeeper with the International Woodworkers Union and the Carpenters and Joiners Union until her retirement. PRZYBYLSKA, Maria Died peacefully at the Hospice at May Court in Ottawa on October 8th. She was born Maria Kolasa on March 2, 1923 in Warsaw, Poland. Having narrowly escaped Poland with her father and brother just ahead of the German and Russian invasion of 1939, she made her way to Scotland by way of Romania, Yugoslavia, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. She studied chemistry at the University of Glasgow from 1940 through 1946. After graduation she pursued graduate work there in x-ray crystallography, receiving her Ph.D. in 1949. That year she joined the National Research Council of Canada in Ottawa, where she worked until her retirement in 1988. Her passion for her work unquenched, she continued her research as health and facilities would permit into the late 1990s. Her distinguished scientific career spanned 50 productive years, yielding 70 publications and dozens of solved chemical structures. She was pre-deceased by Waclaw Przybylski (1918-2005), whom she met at the University of Glasgow and married in 1949, and survived by sons Martin and Steven (Michelle) and grandchildren Elizabeth and Alexander. SWANSTON, L. William (Bill) August 13, 1936 - October 8, 2008 Passed away peacefully in a Bangkok hospital after a short bout with cancer. He regretfully missed his last squadron meeting in September in Quebec City. After being in the forces as a fighter pilot in Europe, he became an air traffic controller in Toronto and ultimately a Director for Transport Canada. He then went to Asia and Middle East for the U.N. (I.C.A.O) to finally retire in Bangkok. He leaves behind his best friend Linda, his brother Bobby, his sons Michel and Carl (Sarah) and his grandchildren Alexie, Maxime and Neala. He will be missed by all. OBITUARY MAURICE COLBORNE ENGLAND 1913 - 2008 Maurice passed away on October 7. He was born in Italy of Frank England and Nelly Olivieri. He served with distinction in the British Intelligence Corps during the war. After the war he made films in Italy until 1956 when he came to Canada to work on the DEW line in the Arctic. Maurice then worked for 25 years with Pirelli Cables supervising oil-filled cable installations across Canada. He was married to Flora England, and later lived with his long time companion, Amalia Grassi. He is survived by his offspring, Edward England, Diana England and Margaret England, and his five grandchildren, Ian, Emily, Katia, Gabrielle and Robert. We will all miss him. He was a wonderful, intelligent man and retained a good sense of humour until the end. A memorial service will be held at the Collins Clarke Funeral Home in St. Lambert on October 27, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. No flowers please, donations to the Dialysis Unit, Charles Lemoyne Hospital.
