Jusqu’au dernier moment, elle a été entourée de sa famille qui l’adore. Elle a livré un long combat contre le cancer ovarien avec beaucoup de courage. Elle laisse dans le deuil son mari depuis 55 ans, Donald et ses enfants: Odette Babineau (Roland) de Parlee Beach, Daniel (Jocelyne) de Brossard, Qc, Dr Charles (Mona) de Dieppe, André (Ian Burchitt) d’Ottawa, Ont., Laurie (Jeanne) de Moncton et Joanne (Maurice Cormier) de Grand-Barachois. Elle laisse aussi ses 12 petits-enfants: Jeff (Rebecca) et David (Dominique) Babineau, Denis, Marc et Alexandre LeBlanc, Danica (Julien), Manon (Maxime) et Jean-Michel LeBlanc, Melissa (Philip) et Allain LeBlanc et Patrice et Gabrielle Richard. Elle sera toujours bien vivante dans le coeur de tous les membres de sa grande famille. Elle laisse aussi ses frères: Gérald (Claudette) Arsenault de Grand-Barachois et Alfred (Paulette) Arsenault de l’Alberta; sa soeur, Anne-Marie (Henry) LeBlanc de Gilbert, Arizona; ses beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, neveux, nièces et tous ses amies et amis. Marie-Léa a touché la vie de tous ceux et celles qui l’ont connue. Elle adorait cuisiner pour sa famille et ses ami-e-s, mais surtout pour "son Donald", qu’elle gâtait avec plein de sucreries. Elle adorait la lecture, la recherche et la peinture. Elle adorait conserver tous les moments précieux passés en famille, ainsi que ses nombreux souvenirs de voyages dans ses albums photos et sur vidéos. Elle a voyagé avec Donald dans plusieurs parties du monde, mais son trajet favori a été un voyage en Chine, en 2003. Elle était membre du Club de l’âge d’or et des Dames de Sainte-Anne. La passion de sa vie entière a été la musique. Elle s’est dévouée plus de 25 ans en tant qu’organiste et coordinatrice de la musique dans sa paroisse. Elle a aussi été membre des chorales suivantes: Chorale Alouette, La Fleur du Souvenir, Les Alinos, et bien d’autres. Marie-Léa a dévoué sa vie au service de sa communauté, de son mari et de sa famille. Elle a aussi accompagné Donald en Gaspésie, pour le travail, une vingtaine d’années. Elle aimait le bruit de la mer, le paysage et ses ami-e-s de la Gaspésie; elle y laisse d’ailleurs un petit peu de son coeur. Grâce à sa personnalité merveilleuse, son courage et son amour infini de tous, Marie-Léa (mam) vivra à jamais dans nos coeurs. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 14h, le dimanche 19 octobre, à la Maison funéraire Frenette ltée, 396, rue Main, à Shédiac (532-3297, www.salonfrenette.com). Les funérailles seront célébrées en l’église Sacré-Coeur de Haute-Aboujagane, le lundi 20 octobre, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. SEP, Anna - Dipl. Ing., MSc. (Health Canada retired) We are deeply saddened to announce that on October 16, 2008 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer we lost our loving, cherished and beloved wife, mother and grandmother and godmother of many. Anna leaves behind her beloved husband of 54 years, Milan, as well as her son Miro (Sharon) and daughter Priska (Alex Kincaid) of Ottawa. Devoted Babi to her grandchildren Alexandra, Anna, Christopher and Maggie. Loving sister of Magdalena, Mariena and Frantisek of Slovakia. She will also be missed by many friends in Slovakia and Canada. Anna' s journey began 76 years ago in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. She attended the Technical University in Bratislava where she graduated with honors with a MSc degree in Chemical Engineering. After graduation she taught at the Technical College in her hometown until the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968 when she left for Canada with her husband and two small children. In 1970 she became a teaching and research assistant at the Department of Chemistry at Carleton University. After taking financial management courses toward CMA accreditation she worked as a Finance Planning and Systems Officer at Health Canada between 1972-98. Anna touched many lives through her personal and professional activities and she developed long lasting friendships through the years both in Slovakia and Canada. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining friends at home and at the summer camp at Lac Bataille. She was an avid skier and spent many winter days on ski slopes all over Canada. Anna had a passion for traveling, reading, playing piano and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending exercise classes until she was stopped by the fast progressing illness. She will be missed by all she touched. The family would like to thank Dr. Coulombe and Dr. Aldridge from the Palliative Care Network, as well as the nurses from Carefor, especially Carole Parents, who enabled Anna to spend her final days at home in comfort. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at St. Patrick Church in Fallowfield, 15 Steeple Hill Crescent (from Fallowfield Road between Moodie Drive and Richmond Road) with a Mass of Christian Funeral at 11.00 a.m. Reception will follow in the church hall adjacent to St. Patrick's Church. Mr. Murray Richard Hetherington, husband of Jean Hetherington of 5550 Derby Jct NB, passed away Wednesday evening at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 78. Born in Quarryville, he was the son of the late Allan & Christina (Duffy) Hetherington. He was a retired mechanic and a member of the United Baptist Church. He was an avid stock car enthusiast. Besides his wife, Jean, he is survived by one daughter; Joan Knox (Robert) of Fredericton; Wayne (Connie) Hetherington of Derby Jct.; three sisters; Doris Furlong (Sterling) of Quarryville; Violet Ingram (John) of Toronto ON; Florence Connors (Arthur) of Boom Road; three brothers; Donald (Bertha) Hetherington of London, ON; Monty (Linda) Hetherington of Quarryville; Brian (Anna) Hetherington of Mount St Joseph; 2 grandchildren; Jessica Knox and Colby Hetherington. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers; Ronald, Thurman and Alvin. SCHONBERG, Doris Clara (nee‘ Dalyboyzk) - Mom went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Saviour, just a few days before her 87th birthday, on Thanksgiving Day, October 13, 2008. Doris passed away peacefully, at Lanark Lodge, Perth, surrounded by the love and concern of her family. Beloved mother of Linda (Paul) Coupland, of Perth. Doris was predeceased by her grandson Christian-Kyle Coupland, her brothers John and Steve Dalyboyzk, and her sister Mary. Cherished grandmother to Kevin-Joel (Natasha) Coupland , Leslie- Anne Lentz , Christopher and Graeme Coupland. Fondly remembered by her siblings Helen Medwid and Ann Merlino. KENNEDY, William “Bill“ - Peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Thursday October 16th, 2008. Bill Kennedy in his 66th year. Bill was born in Barrie, the son of the late George and Mary Kennedy. Bill earned his wings with the RCAF in 1965 and flew Search and Rescue Command and Transport Command. In 1973 he left the Air Force and began his career as a commercial airline pilot. He retired in 2003 and became an avid golfer. Bill was a dedicated member of the Canadian Ski Patrol System and was awarded Life Membership #52 in 2005. Beloved husband and best friend of Mary Kennedy (nee Landreville) for 44 years. KOVACS, Catherine Kilgour Morrison Darling (nee McCulloch) - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Catherine Kovacs on Oct. 9th, 2008 after a short battle with cancer. Catherine was a dearly loved mother, wife, grandmother and sister. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Jozsef Kovacs who passed away in 2006, and by her parents Catherine and Thomas McCulloch and aunts Mary and Meg. Catherine will be so sadly missed by her children Nora (Bridges) and Norman, her precious granddaughter Rebecca, dear sister Elizabeth, and of course her cherished dog “Maestro“. Catherine was born in the village of Allanton, in Scotland and trained as a hairdresser and beautician at Galloways College in Glasgow and as a nurses aid in Manitoba. In Scotland she met her Hungarian husband Jozsef, they married in 1959 and had a beautiful family and life together. Catherine's great passion and joy in life was her family, her children and granddaughter, and while our grief now is great, the many gifts, beautiful memories and positive influences she gave us are equally great. Catherine and family emigrated to Canada in 1964, returned home to Scotland in 1969, lived in several areas of Canada and Britian, eventually settling back in St. Catharines in 1972. Catherine retired from Bestview Nursing Home in 1987 and then deeply enjoyed her years as a grandmother. She was an animal lover, an avid reader, wrote poetry, played piano and enjoyed travel. Catherine will be buried in Scotland and remembrance and celebration of her life will take place at that time. The family would welcome condolences and fond memories of Catherine. God knew that she was suffering, That the hills were hard to climb, So He closed her weary eyelids And whispered “Peace be thine“. BETIU, Michael (Mihail) With deep sadness the family announces that Michael (Mihail) Betiu has lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, October 9, 2008, at the age of 64 years. He passed away at the Wilhelminenspital in Vienna, Austria with brother Alexander (Alex) and his wife Ellen at his side. Michael will be greatly missed by his brother and sister-in-law, nieces Christina (Paul) and Andreea, great-niece and god-daughter Victoria of Calgary; family members Ion and Angela Amza and their children of Romania; cousin Elena Tzanco of Calgary; dear friends Monica and Dan Baltatu of Irvine, California; and many friends in Canada, United States, Austria, Romania, Libya and France. Michael was born in Bucharest, Romania on January 11, 1944. After graduating with a Master degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Oil and Gas University, Bucharest, Romania in 1966, he started his successful career in the oil industry with the Romanian Oil and Gas Corporation. Michael moved to Canada in 1980 where he worked with Canterra Energy Company Ltd., and Alberta National Gas Company Ltd., both of Calgary. His recognized expertise in reservoir engineering brought him to Libya in 1989. It was at OMV of Austria, that Michael reached the peak of his career; since 1998 he worked with a dedicated team of engineers and geologists on reservoir evaluation of fields in Qatar, Oman, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Romania, and the Former Soviet Union. Michael liked traveling, outdoor activities, music, gourmet food, and enjoyed the fullness life had to offer. Michael was loved and cherished by his family and gave the same in return. LYALL BENINGER Peacefully, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 at Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont, Lyall Beninger, formerly of Chapple Township, Ont., passed away at the age of 92. Lyall was born Aug. 2, 1916 in Chapple Township to the late Robert and Elizabeth Beninger. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Radbourne on Jan. 1, 1941. Together they resided in Black Hawk, Ont., later moving to their new home just west of Emo along Highway 11 with their four boys. Lyall operated the Black Hawk store, as well as logged and had his own pulp truck. Before retiring, he worked at the Emo OPP station as a maintenance person. Lyall and Dorothy always enjoyed their winters in Texas. He will be lovingly remembered by his boys, Murray (Sharlene) of Fort Frances, Ont., Ted (Glenda) of Vancouver, B.C., and Robert (Marnie) of Emerson Man.; daughter-in-law, Laurie (John) Callan of Bears Pass, Ont.; grandchildren, Murray, Dane (Kyla), Neil, Daniel, Robyn, Bradley (Jo), and Julie (Todd); and great-grandchildren, Trey, Mya, Paul, Katie and Tyler. FRENCH, Brian James - With heavy hearts, we part ways with a wonderful husband, father and friend. On a sunny autumn day, October 14th, 2008, his favorite time of year, Brian said goodbye. Born November 23, 1952 to the late Les and Doris French. Devoted husband and best friend for 35 years to Julie (Harper) French. MOSLEY, Robert (Bob) March 2, 1952 - October 13, 2008 - Son of William Mosley and the late Joyce Mosley. Survived by daughters, Samantha & Jenny Mosley, grandson Grady; former wife, Debbie; Tom, Sue & Naomi, Camden; Jim, Winnipeg, Manitoba; Peter & Karen, Fenelon Falls, Ontario; Linda Leveley, Minden, Ontario and several nieces and nephews. At 56 years young, while sleeping peacefully, THE smartest and greatest man we have ever known took his last hard breath. Robert John Mosley, Bobby, Mouse, Dad, the strongest, most courageous person in our lives quietly gave up his fight with Guillain Barre Syndrome. Anyone that was ever lucky enough to meet Dad would know the struggle he so stubbornly tackled day in and day out. While he was never one to pass up the opportunity to voice his opinion not once did Dad complain about the cards he was dealt. On Monday, October 13, a hard rain fell from a dark morning sky as our family said goodbye to a very proud grandpa, an incredible father, a cherished son and a loving brother. At no time did Dad ever want a fuss made about much of anything; and to no surprise of ours, he has requested not to have a formal service. However, this Saturday, October 18 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm, we will gather at Dad's home in Truro, Nova Scotia to honour and remember a truly great man.
