Albert Tremblay, époux de dame Charlotte Lévesque, fils de feu Egide Tremblay et de feu Marie-Laure Guay. Il demeurait à La Baie. M. CARSWELL, Ruth Ann - RN, A.R.C.T. (nee Jackson). Ruth passed away peacefully at home in Barrie, on Monday, September 22, 2008, a victim of cancer. She was a piano accompanist who entertained many people over five decades with her talents. The Barrie public will remember her as accompanist of the Bravado show choir for over a decade. She also accompanied the York Region Children's Chorus for over two decades. During her life in Toronto she accompanied many choirs and performed dozens of shows. She will be remembered for her joy of music and for her infectious laugh, now stilled. She is survived by her family of Andrew, Paul and Terri, Robert, and husband of 41 years, Charlie. The funeral, a musical celebration of life, will be held at Central United Church, Barrie, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 18. WEIR, Roy - Born May 6, 1925. Attended Victoria Public School and chose to stay on the family farm to work with his father who owned a dairy farm. He continued with the dairy farm until his retirement. He drove a school bus for 30 years with the Simcoe County Board. He was a avid hunter, fisherman and musician. During his younger years he was a member of the Junior Farmers and enjoyed bowling and curling on local leagues. He was most importantly a family man. He had many friends and a strong sense of community. He will be sadly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren. 11244035

CARKNER, Beulah Marguerite (nee Lawrence) - Born in Avondale, Carleton County, New Brunswick on December 28, 1919. Dear mother to Terry (died October 28, 1961), Stephanie, John, Reginald, Nancy and Kevin. Loving grandmother to Melanie, Terry, Christopher, Markus, Rachel, Jennifer, Meagan, Max and Clyde. Great grandmother to Cierra, Ethan, Tyler, Katilyn, Allysan, Jeremy, Olivier and Miriam. Eldest sister of Melvin, Wilmot, Neil, Audrey, Pauline, Rowena, Muriel and the late Vaugn, Ivan, Dell and Gerald. Widow of Wallace. Auntie to dozens, friend to hundreds. Beulah left school at the age of 14 to work and help support her family during the 1930's. Served as a Corporal in the RCAF Women's Division in World War II. She met and married a handsome airman named Wally when they were both stationed in Summerside, P.E.I. After raising their six children, she returned to school in her late fourties to become an R.N., working fulltime throughout. Upon graduation, she moved to Sault Ste. Marie to nurse until she retired in 1984. She loved especially her years in the NeoNatal Unit at the Sault General Hospital. Lifelong lover of gardening, baking, needlework, saleing, caregiving and travelling to visit her farflung family. Beulah was an active member of City Bible Church for many years. She worked hard all her life and rarely complained about anything, except maybe slugs. In her quiet way, she was a strong, independent woman before it was fashionable to be so. Beulah passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. She will be missed deeply by many, our matriarch. MORGAN, Joseph Gordon 1927-2008 - Joseph Joe Gordon Morgan passed away peacefully at hospital on Friday, September 19, 2008 with family at his side. Joe is survived by his loving wife Mildred, son Todd (Stella) Morgan and daughter Treena (Jean-Pierre, JP) Fontaine. Joe is proud grandpa to Alexa and Grant Morgan of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. He is also survived by his brothers Charles (Norma- Jean) Morgan of Elliot Lake, Ontario; Edward (Fran) Morgan of Central Falls, Rhode Island; Clyde Morgan of Kirkland Lake, Ontario; Clint Morgan of Kirkland Lake, Ontario; sister Carrie Svendsen (Curt) of Barrhead, Alberta; sisters-in-law Marion Morgan of Timmins, Ontario and Win Morgan of Bowmanville, Ontario; brothers- in-law Michael (Yolande) O'Keefe of North Bay, Ontario and John (Gwen) O'Keefe of Barrie, Ontario as well as many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his parents, William and Alice (Cousins) Morgan, sister Mae (Robert) Goff, brothers John (Bertha) Morgan, Douglas Morgan and Claire Morgan and sisters-in-law Mary Morgan and Margaret Morgan. Joe was born on June 5, 1927 at Guysborough, Nova Scotia. In 1946, like many of his generation, he came to Ontario with only the clothes on his back to find work and a better life. He worked in the forestry industry in Northern Ontario and the construction industry in Southern Ontario where he earned his license as a hoisting engineer. Eventually he settled in Kirkland Lake. Here he met his wife Millie and started a family. He also started his journey in the business world. He owned Joe Morgan Trucking hauling pulp wood; operated the Golden Gate Esso service station in Chaput Hughes; opened Morgan's Drive-in, one of the very first fast food restaurants in Northern Ontario; and owned numerous rental apartments and houses as well as three laundromats. He also dabbled in real estate and hydroelectric development. One of his favourite pastimes was inventing. Joe also volunteered himself in the community wherever he thought his efforts were best utilized. He was particularly proud to be a board member of ARC Industries during the time when they grew into their new building at 4 Tweedsmuir. As busy as Joe was with his various endeavours, he always had time for family. Joe was a very private person. He lived his life to the fullest and always gave anonymously to those in need. In keeping with Joe's private nature, there will be no visitation. Cremation will be followed by a private family celebration of his life. Obituaries Mervyn Joseph Albert, 80, of Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at his residence on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008. Mervyn was born Oct. 16, 1927 in Trout Creek in the District of Parry Sound, Ont. to the late Peter and Hilda Albert. He moved to Emo, Ont. with his family in 1932, and spent many years there before moving to Fort Frances. He had worked for the MTO in Emo for several years and was a member of the Manitou Masonic Lodge #631 in Emo. He also was a lay minister and sang in the church choir at St. George’s Anglican Church in Emo, was an avid curler, delivered Meals on Wheels in the district, and was a Scout leader several years ago. He was helpful to everyone and never expected anything in return. He is survived by his nephews, Leonard (Charlotte) Haines of Saskatoon, Sask. and Lyall (Debbie) Haines of Kelowna, B.C.; nieces, Nadine (Steven) Donaldson of Denfield, Ont., Lisa (Brian) MacGillivray of Elie, Man., Jenny Willman of Winnipeg, Man., and Tracy (Peter) Leclerc of Richer, Man.; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Alice Hilda Albert; sisters, Helen Kominowski and Dorothy Haines; and brother, Jack. A celebration of Mervyn’s life will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church in Emo, with Rev. Eileen Bragg officiating.
