DERKS, Hank - In loving memory of Hank Derks, 68 years, who passed away Sunday, July 20th, 2008 at the SRH - St. Joseph's Health Center. Hank worked at INCO for 33 years. He was the Chief First Aid Co-ordinator in the Safety Department. He retired in 1992. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #76 joining in 1981. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge (Bethel #699 AF&AM). He was a member of the Military Old Guard and past member of the Irish Regiment Officer's Mess. He enlisted in the military in 1975 obtaining the position of Officer Major. He had been the C.O. Major of the 200 Wolf Squadron Air Cadets for 10 years. He had been an active member of St. John's Ambulance and been honoured as a member of the Order. Hank was always quick to help others supporting many worthy causes and community projects. Beloved husband of Pam (Bull) Derks. Loving father of Anne and Jim Furchner, Mike Derks, Janet Derks, Patty and Darrin Guenette, Tara and Greg Coleman. HARDY, Adam James - At the Brantford General Hospital on Monday, July 21, 2008 in his 90th year, Adam James Hardy, beloved husband and best friend for 49 years to Ruth Hardy. Médard Friolet - À l’Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus de Caraquet, le dimanche 20 juillet 2008, à l’âge de 95 ans et dix mois, est décédé Médard Friolet, époux de Maria Lanteigne, domicilié à Bas-Caraquet. Il était fils de feu Luc Friolet et de feu Alma Légère. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil deux filles: Gloria (Emile Langlois) de Québec et Mona Friolet d’Edmonton, Alb.; trois fils: Yvon (Parise Daigle) de Caraquet, Paul-Emile (Liane Julien) de Charlesbourg, Qc et Vincent (Réjeanne Delagarde) de Bathurst; 11 petits-enfants et sept arrière-petits-enfants, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Une fille, Hélène à la naissance; un fils, Lucien; trois soeurs: Cécile, Alma et Albina, ainsi que trois frères: Benoît, Léo et Xavier, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. M. Friolet a été membre des Chevaliers de Colomb, conseil 7088, de Bas-Caraquet. Nous, les enfants, tenons à rendre un dernier hommage à notre père, cet homme qui a marqué l’économie de son village. Dès l’âge de 17 ans, il a été capitaine sur la goélette familiale. Il n’a jamais cessé de participer au développement de l’industrie de la pêche en étant cofondateur et copropriétaire de Paulin et Friolet, ainsi que du Chantier Naval, deux entreprises qui construisaient des chalutiers en bois. Au tout début, il s’agissait de bateaux à voile pour ensuite devenir à moteur, toute une évolution à l’époque. De plus, il a été cofondateur de la première usine de transformation de crabe de Bas-Caraquet, soit Bay Chaleurs Packers. Son dévouement est un bel héritage au monde de la pêche. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 14h, le mardi 22 juillet, au salon de l’église de Bas-Caraquet. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Paul de Bas-Caraquet, le mercredi 23 juillet, à 16h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Heures de visites: le mardi 22 juillet, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h, et le mercredi 23 juillet, de 14h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. Eileen M. Phee, R.N. 1929 - 2008 Miramichi - Eileen Mary Phee, widow of the late Courtney D. Phee, of the South Napan Road, passed away at her residence, on Monday afternoon, July 21, 2008, at the age of 78. Born in Chatham, on September 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Lillian (McBride) O'Donnell. She was an RN by profession and worked in nursing as well as in nursing administration in the Toronto area, prior to retirement. She attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi. She is survived by one daughter, Darlene M. O'Donnell, of Toronto; one grandson, Jean Paul O'Donnell, of Toronto; two sisters, Marie Flynn, of Glenwood and Elizabeth Wood, of Toronto, Ont.; three brothers, Patrick O'Donnell (Barbara), Herman (Buddy) O'Donnell (Norma), and William O'Donnell (Mary), all of Glenwood; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Courtney, in 2002; one brother, Edward O'Donnell. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., on Wednesday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. CAMPSALL, John George - John completed his life's journey, after a lengthy illness, at the Kingston General Hospital, on July 20, 2008, in his 71st year. John has left behind his best friend, wife and soul mate Pam (Conway). Father of Terry of Kingston, Perry (Marj) and John Jr. of Kingston. Stepfather of Joann Knapp of Sharbot Lake, Andy and Brian (Rhonda) Green, Josephine Hammond (Daryl Lemmon) all of Kingston. MILLER, DONALD - Donald Miller died Friday afternoon, July 18, at the Edmundston hospital of kidney failure. He was 81. Beloved wife of the late Pius Feehan and dear mother of Ruth (John) Gunn, Carl (Elaine) Feehan, Muriel (Roger) Coffin, Joyce Douglas, Ann MacLeod, Theresa (David) Clarkin, Elsie (John) Sharkie, Ivan (Barb) Feehan, Eric Feehan, Kevin Feehan and Lauralee (Brook) Price. Mrs. Feehan will also be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sister Florence (Sterling) Pigott, sister-in-law Sally Affleck, son-in-law Dewy Dunn, nieces, nephews and friends at the Prince Edward Home. Williamson, Laura 2008-07-21 Williamson Mrs. Laura Williamson (Niemi) passed away peacefully after a brief illness July 19th, 2008 at home with her family at her side. Laura was born in Macdiarmid, Ontario on October 12th, 1931 to parents Anselm and Martta. Laura is survived by children Glenda Vainio, Steven Williamson (Cathy), Jill Pascoe (Doug) and Lauren Tenhunen (Bruce). She‘ll be sadly missed by grandchildren Vanessa, Dustin (Danielle), Kassidy, Olivia, and Erica. She is survived by sisters Emma Johnson (Edward), Pearl Peden (Brian) and brother Tony Niemi (Flo), and numerous nieces and nephews. Laura was predeceased by her parents, loving husband Glen, brother Otto, sisters Laila, Eila, Martha and son-in-law Hannu. As per Mom‘s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be planned for the near future. Should friends desire donations can be made to Christ Lutheran Church building fund. Beloved wife and best friend of Charlie Tourigny; loving mother of Lisa Zawadzki (nee Sameluk) (Frank), Laura Johnson (Ken) of Simcoe, Darren Sameluk, Tina Mahood (nee Tourigny) (Todd) of Winnipeg; proud grandmother of Jordan, Roman, Cole, Marcus, Jayde, Stephanie and Cody; cousin of Bob Davis (Karen) of Red Deer, Alta. She will be sadly missed by her large extended family and her much loved dog, Brahdie. Jean was a warm kind hearted person who had an endearing personality that brought her many close friends. She loved the simple things in life like spending time camping at the lake, traveling, or catching a good yard sale. Her passion was collecting teacups. SUMPTON, Jean Theresa R.N. 2008-07-21 It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Jean on Sunday, July 20, 2008 in New Westminster, B.C. Jean married James Morris Sumpton on February 2, 1963. She was a devoted wife and loving mother of Jamie, AnneMarie and Paul. A proud grandma of Jaclyn, Melissa, Ronnie, Chloe, Carter, Brittany, Brandon and great grandma of Jacob. Also mourning her loss are sisters Kay Friday, Rose Marie McCracken and brother Michael Jacino and nieces and nephews - Michele, Donald, Alison, Christy, Mikka and Nikko, sisters-in-law Camilla Robichaud and Marilyn Horne and her special nursing classmates. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Colomba Jacino and in-laws Hap and Mary Sumpton and other dear relatives Born on March 19, 1941, she attend St. Joseph‘s School, PACI and St. Joseph‘s School of Nursing, class of 1962. She was on staff locally at St. Joseph’s Hospital and for many years a head Nurse at the Royal Colombian Hospital in New Westminster, B.C. During her later professional career, she helped plan and purchase all the equipment for the new Cardiac Unit. Jean optimistically endured cancer for 22 years with determination, hope and faith. She continues to be our inspiration and left each of us with her special loving signature - ending each phone call and encounter with “love you”. A moment of prayer offered at our local Hope and Memory Garden (off Balmoral) for Jean and all others touched by cancer would be meaningful. It is a garden of beauty and tranquility as is our Jean‘s spirit.

KUZNAK, John (Ivan) 2008-07-21 September 11, 1923- July 15, 2008 John (Ivan) Kuznak age 84, suddenly passed away on July 15th 2008 at his home in Ignace, ON. John is survived by his wife Marion, five children: Betty-Ann (Allan Randell), Faye (Don Bulman), Bill (Gloria), John (Gwen) and Mark, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.John worked as a heavy duty mechanic for Great Lakes Forest Products for 35 yrs. He was a loving family man, a hard working, no-nonsense kind of guy and always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and would go fishing with you anytime.John was predeceased by his wife of nearly 50 yrs. Eunice Kuznak (Humphrey) in 1997. A Memorial Funeral Service for John (Ivan) Kuznak was held on Saturday July 19th, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Anglican United Church with Reverend Mary Mennell officiating. HINDS, Jim - It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Hinds announces his passing on July 18th, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim died peacefully and with dignity at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care at the age of 72. Jim was born in Guelph and moved to Sarnia in 1948 where he lived till he joined the Navy in 1954. Jim had an outstanding Naval Career, 25 years in the Royal Canadian Navy of which 12 years were spent in submarines. He served as Chief Electrician in the Canadian Coast Guard for 19 years. He retired in 1996. Jim returned to Sarnia in 1997 where he married his highschool sweetheart Doreen Trowbridge. Jim was an exceptional cook and loved to entertain, his family/friends were always treated to delicious food and fascinating tales of his adventures on the high seas, Jim will be greatly missed by all that knew him including his Tim Horton buddies who shared many early morning coffee's. Jim is survived by his wife of 11 years Doreen, his daughter Karen Boomgaars (Joe) British Columbia, and Cyd Le Page (Daniel) of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and granddaughters Michelle Philips and Candis Le Page. Jim is predeceased by his late wife Dawn (McLeod) 1996. Survived by his stepchildren and grandchildren Bert Robertson (Cindy), Sara and Ben, Stephen Robertson (Janet), Thomas and Kevin and Rene Robertson-Potisk (Ray) of Edmonton. Jim was affectionately called “Pops“ by his grandchildren and they will miss him very much. Jim is also survived by his brother Dennis Hinds (Mary Jane) and 5 sisters, Lynn Rath, Heather Hembruff (Larry), Denise Maginn (Ted), Penny George (Mike) and Cindy Thompson (Ron) and predeceased by his sister Valerie Tullock. MacDONALD, Ronald - At Bluewater Health-Palliative Care, on Saturday, July 19, 2008. RONALD ALBERT MacDONALD, 68 years, of Wyoming and formerly of Corunna. Loving husband of 40 years of Myrna (nee Weatherhead). Loving father of Corrine and her husband Todd Cable of Watford and Wayne MacDonald of Corunna. Cherished grandfather of Forrest and Austin Cable. Dear brother of Larry (Penny), Reg (Brenda), Ted (Elkie), Ruth Weatherhead, Joanne (Wayne) Dieter all of Owen Sound and Margie (Clark) McMillan of Goderich. Also survived by his special lady, Thelma Davies (more than any mother-in-law could ever be), a sister-in-law, Kay Kelly, both of Elora and brothers-in-law, Ron (Kim) Weatherhead of Port Perry and Cliff (Cathy) Davies of Fergus. Ron will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, and his special friends Sandy and Bill Wheeler of Courtright. He was predeceased by a brother, Wayne (1969), father, Harold (1995) and mother, Gladys (2006), father-in-law, Roy Weatherhead (1970), step father-in-law, Harvey Davies (1990), brother-in-law, Al Weatherhead (1998). Ron was a retired custodian from St. Joseph's School, Corunna and was a 35- year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #447, Corunna. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNRAL HOME, Petrolia, where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. LA FAMILLE DENIS a le regret de vous faire part du décès de MLLE GERTRUDE DENIS de Plantagenet, Ont., décédée paisiblement le vendredi 18 juillet 2008, à l'âge de 92 ans. Elle était la fille aînée de feu Émile Denis et de feu Dorinda Martin; la soeur bien-aimée de feu Isidore (feu Germaine Archambeault), Cécile (Sr Émile Isidore, s.p.), feu Alice (Sr Alice, s.p.), Lucienne (Sr René Albert, s.p.), Aldéa (feu Fernand Rozon) et Marie-Paule (feu George Weller). Outre ses soeurs, elle laisse dans le deuil ses nombreux neveux et nièces. Gertrude a dédié sa vie à aider les autres. Après avoir travaillé au presbytère de Fournier de 1944 à 1953, elle est déménagée à Plantagenet à la demande du Curé Guibord, où elle continuera à oeuvrer au presbytère jusqu'à l'âge de 76 ans. La famille recevra parents et amis à l'église St-Paul de Plantagnet, rue Water, Plantagenet, Ontario, le mercredi 23 juillet 2008 à compter de 10h. Le service religieux aura lieu le même jour à 11h en l'église St-Paul; inhumation au cimetière St-Bernard à Fournier, Ont.
