MACEWEN, Evelyn M. The death occurred peacefully surrounded by family at the Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, on Friday, June 20, 2008, of Evelyn M. MacEwen, formerly of Kensington, aged 88 years. Born in Long River January 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Maria Jane (Parsons) Found. Beloved wife of the late Frank MacEwen and dear mother of Marlene (Harold Giesbrecht), Lowell (Ellinor), Irwin (Leta), Valerie (Arnold Flynn), Duane (Ann) and Marvin. Grandmother of 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law of Harold MacEwen. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Bill; sisters Marjorie, Mae and Ellen; brother-in-law Blois MacEwen and sisters-in-law Orian MacEwen and Irene MacEwen. HARDY, Dylan Tyler 2008-06-23 Mr. Hardy, 28 years, of Thunder Bay, Ontario passed away like a true OGICHIDAA on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at St. Joseph‘s Hospice, Thunder Bay, Ontario. Dylan amazed us with his physical strength. His greatest strength was his kind heart, being the last person to let anyone down. He was most trustworthy. He had a great sense of humour – no one was safe from his teasing. Dylan had a great love for music, teaching himself to play the guitar. Collecting CD‘s was one of his passions. Dylan had many friends he talked to online. The light in his eyes were the little ones – Lawrence, Hayden, Tori, Teagan, Chase and Hailey. Predeceased by his grandmother Monica and by his uncle Larry; he is survived by his “BABES” - Erica Mackay, by his mother Lee Hardy, his grandparents – James and Caroline Hardy, his uncles – Jim (& Lisa) Hardy Jr., Adam (& Josie) Hardy and Chris Hardy, by aunt Roseanne Hardy, by his cousins – Jason, Tasha, Brandie, Brendan, Harley, Bartie and Rylie. Shawn Patrick Maloney The death of Shawn Patrick Maloney of Sunny Corner, NB occurred accidentally on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the age of 42. Shawn is the son of Dianne (Stewart) Maloney and the late John Elmer Mahoney. Shawn was a former employee of UPM Pulp & Paper. Besides his mother Dianne, Shawn is survived by two sons, Jonathan Maloney and Patrick Arsenault both of Miramichi, NB; one sister, Beth McCully (Charlie) of Sunny Corner, NB; and one niece, Alicia. Visitation was held at Meadows Funeral Home, Sunny Corner on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Service was held on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 11 AM from Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Blair Whyte officiating. The guitarist and soloist Jimmy Lawlor was assisted by Eugene Somers; "City of God", "The Lord's My Shephard" and "Be Not Afraid". Eulogy: Lisa Flemming. Active Pallbearers were Chris Ward, Terry Tenass, Derrick Stewart, Jamie Bryenton, Scott Allison and Howie Dawson. Honorary Pallbearers were all Shawn's Friends that attended the funeral. Members of CEP Local 689 attended in a group and formed an honor guard. The burial followed in St. Stephen's United Church Cemetery, Red Bank, NB. Born at Gaspereau Forks, NB he was the son of the late Donald and Hannah (Dickie) Hasson. John is survived by 3 sons, Dan (Kathy) of Gaspereau Forks, Mark (Bonnie) of Chipman and John of Prince George, BC; a daughter, Jayne Michaud (Troy) of Vancouver, BC; their mother, Avis Williams of Chipman; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mildred Dale (Richard) of Chipman and Ruth Branscombe (Kenneth) of Sussex; brother, William (Loretta) of California; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 2 infant children, Donald and Jenetta. GONZALES, RICARDO - The death of Ricardo Gonzales occurred on Saturday June 21, 2008 at The Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born 1945 in the Philippines he was the son of Andrea (Magat) Gonzales and the late Reynaldo Gonzales. Ricardo worked as a Chemist at Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station. Besides his mother, Ricardo is survived by his loving wife, Leonila (Canlas) Gonzales; son, John Richard Gonzales (Julie Gonzales) of Moncton; daughter, Beverlee Jane Gonzales (Shane MacDonald) of Saint John; and sisters, Natividid and Perla Gonzales both of the Philippines; two nieces, Maribel Ramos and Grace Johnston; and one nephew, Jessie Ramos. Besides his father, Ricardo was predeceased by one brother, Santiago Gonzales. Ricardo was known to all as a hard-working, wise, and gentle man, who always put the needs of his family far above his own. A man of strong faith, Ricardo will be greatly missed by his family. Mary Leonille Ward SACKVILLE - The death of Mary Leonille Ward, age 86, occurred peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 21, 2008. Born in Tracadie-Sheila, she was the daughter of the late Pascal and Therese (Comeau) Richardson. In early years, Leonille worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Saint John. In 1947 she married Arthur Ward and moved to their farm in Wood Point, where they lived together for 56 years. An avid card player, she enjoyed her home and her family. Leonille was well known for her baking abilities. She was a faithful and lifelong member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church. She will be sadly missed by four sons, Irvan (Connie) Frosty Hollow, Wallace (Yvette), Bedford, NS, Amos, West Sackville, Evan (Shannon) Red Deer AB; three sisters, Regina McGraw, Val Comeau, NB, Alma Savoie, Tilley Road, NB, Therese Savoie, Lower Neguac, NB; two brothers, Allard (Rita) Richardson, Tracadie-Sheila, NB, and Omer Richardson, Portage River, NB; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as two step-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur, in 2003; as well as a brother, Dassise; and a sister, Alga Leclair. Leonille's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) from where visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Stella Goguen 1932 - 2008 Stella Goguen, 76, of Cocagne, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday June 22, 2008, at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Notre-Dame on May 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ipolite Richard and the late Marguerite Thibodeau. Georgie E. Sowerby 1912-2008 The death of Georgie E. Sowerby, 96, widow of the late John Sowerby, of McNair Manor, Riverview occurred at her residence on Thursday June 19th 2008. Born in Shediac on February 18, 1912 she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Ida (Lewis) Taylor. For many years Georgie and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in Dorchester Crossing, after which she was employed with Patural's Seafood, and Shediac Dairy until her retirement. A member of the Shediac Baptist Church she was very active in all church activities when she was younger. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Ratcliffe (Larry) of Shediac Cape; her grand children, Megan of York, PEI, Sarah and Christopher both of Halifax; one great grand son, Jackson Gallant of York, PEI, her sister Florence Mellway of Brantford, ON and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John, her parents and her brothers and sisters. Visiting with the family well be held on Monday June 23rd from 7 to 9. Paul Douthwright Paul Douglas Douthwright, 53, of Mannhurst lost his battle with cancer Saturday June 21, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Percy and Alice (Addie) Douthwright. Paul was a carpenter by trade and took great pride in his work. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of over 20 years, Deborah (Garnet); his son, Jason of Calgary; a nephew, Reginald Douthwright of Havelock; several half brothers and sisters. Gerald (Gerry) K. Dagley Gerald (Gerry) K. Dagley of Moncton passed away Saturday June 21 at his residence, the day before his 72nd birthday. Born in Milton, Queens County, NS he was the son of the late Richard and Harmia (Ayling) Dagley. A former employee of Auto Haul Away in Moncton, a director with the NB Brain Injury Association, he was very active in the local chapter. Gerry was a very good friend of Bill W'S for the past 48 years Love and service has been his life's passion. He touched the lives of many people through the different organizations he was associated with. He was very proud of his 34 years as a Forest Ranger with Department of Natural Resources, retiring as District Ranger, Fredericton in 2002. In addition to his wife and father, David is survived by his two loving sons, Andrew & Vicky of Stanley and Ryan & Sarah of Geary; two beautiful granddaughters, Bridget and Ashley; two sisters, Judianne & Weldon Carr and Teri-Sue & Steven Landry; all of Geary, and several nieces and nephews. Fred is also survived by daughter Claire Humphrey and her husband Bevin Reith; son Ted Humphrey; son Gideon Humphrey and his girlfriend Lisa Pereira; mother Virginia Humphrey; brother John Humphrey and his wife Carole; sister Susan Barnett and her husband Steve; sister Virginia Ward; predeceased by father George Humphrey. In life Fred was a teacher, a photographer, a firefighter, an audiophile, a loving family man, and intertwined with all of those, a committed student of Tibetan Buddhism. In death he dedicated his suffering to the liberation of all sentient beings. Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Linda (Clark McConnery), Hélène (Réjean Boisvert), Marquis (Hélène Peris) et Jean (Chantal Bégin); quatre petits-enfants: Claude, Christine (Ken), Monique (Toby) et Lee-Anne (David); trois arrière-petits-enfants: Madalyne, Deanna et Émily; deux frères: Marcel (feu Pauline Fauvelle) et Gérald (Antonine Blais); une soeur Isabelle (feu Jean-Louis Poitras) ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Un merci spécial à son meilleur ami et ange-gardien Henri Lajoie. Le service religieux aura lieu le mercredi 25 juin 2008 à 11h en l'église de la paroisse St-Grégoire de Nazianze à Buckingham, Québec, suivi de l'inhumation au cimetière paroissal. CAMPBELL, Robert G. Peacefully and quietly, surrounded by the loving kindness of family and friends, at Lanark Lodge, Perth on Saturday June 21st, 2008 at the age of 91 years. Robert was predeceased by his cherished wife Gwendolyn Clarissa Rose, his sister Keitha "Billie" and brother Arthur Campbell; he was the loving father of Jean (Tony) Whieldan of Fallbrook. Robert will be sadly missed by his sister Freda (Rene) Jooste of Kingston, sister-in-law Irene Campbell of Almonte, niece Jennifer Rose and nephews Morgan Jooste and Don Campbell, all of Ottawa. Robert was a veteran of WWII serving his country for over 5 years. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W, Perth, Saturday, June 28th from 1:00 p.m. until service 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Blair & Son Family Centre.
