La famille Mc Kinnon a le regret de vous annoncer le décès de M. Alexandre Mc Kinnon 1921 - 2008 dernier survivant de sa grande famille, entouré des siens, est décédé le 12 juin 2008 au CSSS Des Collines de Masham, à l'âge de 86 ans et 7 mois. Il était l'époux de Hélène Gauthier, l'amour de sa vie et le fils de feu Daniel Mc Kinnon et de feu Mélina Lavigne. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Lise (Gilles Larose), Lorraine (Richard Fortin), Richard (Rollande Racine), Marie-France (feu Caroll Fortin) et Jo-Ann (Robert Joly), feu Johnny, feu Linda et une fille adoptive (petite-fille) Louise (Claude Verner); 13 autres petits-enfants: Hélène, Monique, Lyne, Sylvie Desormeaux et Francine Larose, Nathalie et Éric Fortin, Richard junior et Sandra Mc Kinnon, Lynda et Steven Fortin, Daniel et Manon Joly; 24 arrière-petits-enfants et un à venir ainsi que 4 arrière-arrière-petits-enfants. L'ont prédécédé un arrière-petits-fils: Brian Desormeaux; 5 frères: Daniel, Frank, John, René et Henri Mc Kinnon ainsi que leurs épouses; 3 soeurs: Laura, Irène et Blanche ainsi que leurs époux; ses beaux-parents; Procul Gauthier et Lima Lacoste; 6 beaux-frères: Jean-Marc, Rolland, Roger et Claude Gauthier ainsi que leurs épouses, Yvon (Marie-Ange Bonneau), Craig (Rita Fournier); une belle-soeur: Antoinette Gauthier ainsi que son époux. Il laisse également de nombreux neveux et nièces des familles Gauthier et Mc Kinnon. Il n'y aura pas de visites à la maison funéraire. La célébration de prières en présence des cendres aura lieu le vendredi 20 juin 2008 à 11:30 en la salle cérémoniale de LA COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS située au 1369, boul. Lavérendrye O. à Gatineau. La famille recevra les condoléances à compter de 11h. ALEXANDER, Riddell William 87, passed away peacefully on Father's Day, June 15, 2008 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Riddell was the youngest of three sons to Henry William Alexander and Fleeta Elizabeth Mabry Alexander from the Meridian area, Lauderdale County. Riddell will be greatly missed by his ex-wife, Violeta, son Jim (Lek) and grandson Jay Jay of San Francisco, California and daughter Mary Ann (Donald) of Calgary, Alberta. Riddell graduated from Suqualena High School (1941) and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi (Marketing & Merchandising) in Hattiesburg (1949). He served in the U.S. Army (1941 1945). Predeceased by his brothers Aubry (1912) and Leo (1915). Met ex-wife, Violeta Cordova (Lima, Peru) at the University of Southern Mississippi and married in 1949 and moved to Ottawa, Ontario Canada where Violeta worked for the Embassy of Peru. In 1950, Riddell started his own business selling all types of stapling machines, staples and labels. He travelled throughout Canada from coast to coast and was in a different town every day - one trip per year from 1950 - 1980 - 30 years. Riddell really enjoyed travelling throughout Canada selling his merchandise and making many friends. He will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor, his positive outlook on life, his great storytelling and his joy for living and travelling. BEDORE, Bernard Vance 1923 - 2008 Veteran WWII Bernard Vance "Bernie" Bedore, Creator of Canada's Gentle Giant Big Joe Mufferaw TM joined his beloved wife Vera (Lewis) of 62 years after a very brief time apart on Tuesday June 17, 2008 in Renfrew Victoria Hospital, Renfrew Ontario. Bernie will remain a legendary storyteller, poet and Ottawa Valley historian. His Legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. In his 86th year, Bernie was the last surviving son of the late Delorme and Catherine Bedore of Arnprior and the last surviving brother of Glenford (killed in action WWII), Marjorie, Denelda (Nella), Clifford (Duffy), Maxford (Maxie) and Corrine. It is with great sadness that we his children Vance Bedore (Cathy) of Pembroke, Judy Bedore (Ernie) of Arnprior and Mark Bedore of Carleton Place bid farewell to our exceptional father. BLAIR, Sarah Margaret (Peggy) 1918-2008 Passed away with peace, dignity and family by her side on Tuesday June 17, 2008 after a brief illness. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Duncan Gordon (2006). Loving mother of David (Lisa) and Stephen (Jennifer). Loving grandmother of Sarah (Jay), Fraser, Erin Jane, Alecsa and Lindsay and proud great-grandmother of Liam and Angus. Predeceased by her parents Charles Milton and Mary Lockhart Milton, her brothers Bob, Gordon and Doug. Survived by her sister, Ruth Kazan of Pickering, ON. BAIRSTOW, Ada. Peacefully at Chateau Westmount on June 9, 2008 at the age of ninety-two. Born in Montreal to the late Watson (Jim) and the late Isabella Brown (Kennedy). DEAKINS, Marie Regina Marie passed away at the Chinook Care Centre on June 15, 2008 at 82 years of age. She was born on a small farm near Assiniboia, Saskatchewan on February 22, 1926. Marie moved to Calgary in 1953, where she met and married John in 1954. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, sewing, knitting, and other crafts. She was a great cook and baker, and loved to entertain family and friends. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church until her health prevented regular attendance. Although Marie's mobility declined in later years, she was blessed with a keen mind and a good sense of humour until her final days. Marie will be remembered by everyone who knew and loved her, including her daughters Linda (Gerard) Lukas and Brenda (Richard) Jones and her grandchildren Kallie, Kyle, and Matthew Lukas, and her sister Evelyn Anderson. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, Leon and Barbara, and her brothers, Lawrence and Michael. Sincere thanks to the staff at the Chinook Care Centre for their special care, empathy, and attention they provided while Marie was a resident at the centre. FOLKS, Laurie Francis 1928 - 2008 Our "Dad", Laurie, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family at the Agape Manor in Calgary on Monday, June 16, 2008. His life is celebrated by his soulmate of more than sixty years, Marjorie Geneva (nee McDow), his seven children, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as his brothers and sisters. Our Dad touched the hearts and minds of too many others to mention. As a member of Crescent Lodge No. 87, the Scottish Rite, Al Azhar Shrine, the Calgary Elks Lodge and the Royal Canadian Legion, Dad's legacy will survive in the memories of countless people. GEHRING, Robert Scott Passed away suddenly in Airdrie on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the age of 39 years. Rob will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Ron (Sharon) Gehring and Reta (Steve) Kurta; brother Ronnie and sister Tamara and niece Mazlie. He is also survived by his grandmother Clara Gehring as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. Rob was predeceased by his grandfathers, Ronald Gehring and Lawrence Eckes and grandmother Grace Gieg. Rob was born and raised in Calgary. He attended SAIT where he excelled in Carpentry. He worked for his dad's construction company for over twenty years. Rob was a sports fanatic, especially loved football and his Pittsburg Steelers and Montreal Canadians. He will be deeply missed. McINTYRE, Rosemary October 19, 1947 - June 17, 2008 Our beloved Rosemary, mother, wife, sister, and friend, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, following pancreatic cancer, on Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Rosemary was born October 19, 1947 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Peter and Rose were childhood sweethearts. They met February 28, 1964 at a dance in Regina. The poster from that dance has hung in their home since then. Rosemary was loved by many, especially the friends of her daughters, who knew they were always welcome at Rosemary's house and table. She was affectionately known as Rosie, Auntie Rosie, Mama Bear and lately, Grandma Rosie. Rosemary is survived by her husband of thirty-eight years, Peter; their five children: Michelle, Jennifer (Trevor), Angela (Caleb), Stephanie and Jessica; and their six grandchildren, Jacob, Maya, Ben, Sophie, Eva and Finley. She is also survived by her sisters Gloria, Elfreda, and Jacqueline; and brothers John and Albert. Rosemary was predeceased by her parents John and Amelia Dixon, her sisters Rachael, Dorothy, Marie, and Doreen, and her brother George. MONTAGUE, Dorothea Mae (nee Spence) Dorothea was born in Huron County, Ontario on October 12, 1919 and passed away at Strathmore, Alberta on June 16, 2008. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gerald Agar in November 1971 and second husband Fred Montague in June 1983. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Ron Agar (Pauline) of Edmonton, Sharon (Peter) Alce of Carseland and Gail (Jesse) Simpson of Christchurch, New Zealand. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as stepfamily in Ontario. REEKIE, Lee Lee Reekie passed away peacefully on June 16, 2008 surrounded by family. She said "good bye for now" to her husband Doug, children Barb and Blair, her grandchildren Kurt, Eric and Vanessa, son-in-law Dean, and best friend Isobel. Lee was a loving wife, remarkable mom, and adoring grandmother. Lee will be missed by her family as well as many, many friends. In addition to her devotion to family, Lee spent a lifetime in service to others. She was a tireless volunteer for organizations including Meals on Wheels, Calgary West PCs, Woodcliff United, AADAC, Beta Sigma Phi and the Glenbow Museum. Her many contributions to her community and the Province were recognized with an Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005. We would like to sincerely thank Dr. M. van Olm and the pulmonary team of Unit 74 at Rockyview General for their incredible care and compassion. A private family Graveside Service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. RUBENOK, Dorothy Jeannette (nee Jarhouse) February 3, 1928 - June 16, 2008 Dorothy Jeannette Rubenok of Calgary passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Dorothy was born in Calgary on February 3, 1928 and grew up in the Black Diamond area. She married Roy in 1952, shortly after receiving her degree in Nursing from St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Dorothy and Roy raised their three sons while living in Calgary, Anaheim and Houston, after which the couple retired to Texas for several years. Following Roy's death in 1992, Dorothy moved back to Calgary where she lived the remaining years of her life in the close company of her surviving family. She is survived by sons, Ron (Lorraine) and Kent (Paulette); as well as her sister Bea (Ray) Wickens. She also has six grandchildren, Michaelle, Allison, Casey, Robert, Krysten, and Leanne; and a great-granddaughter Lilyan. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Roy, son David and sister Bernadine. FRANKLIN, Michael - It is with heavy heart that the family of Michael Franklin announces his sudden passing on Sunday June 15, 2008 at the age of 56 years. Beloved and best friend husband of Wendy, loving step-father of Valerie (John) Marr of Fort Erie, Kyle (Jenny) Mester of Niagara Falls and Amy (Cesar) Mester of Mexico, son of June Auld of Guelph, brother of Billy Franklin (Linda Swazie) of Welland, Ted (Barb) Bristol, Bonnie (Don) Roszell and Wayne Kennedy all of Cambridge. Michael worked for Blair Watson's family (Reftec) for 30 years. He was a member of the BAU Local 4. He was well known in the horse community and had a hobby farm and raised and cared for horses for over 20 years. He specialized as an insulator, there will be no one who could match his skills. The crew he worked with all these years were like a second family. Mike's passion was family, friends and horses along with his work. Erin McCabe-Blazek The tragic death of Erin McCabe-Blazek, age 17, of Dorchester, occurred as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, June 15, 2008. Born in Hamilton, On, in 1990, she was a daughter of Katherine McCabe of Dorchester and Robert Blazek. She was a student of Tantramar Regional High School. When younger, she had attended schools in Dartmouth and Amherst. A quiet and friendly girl, she was loved and respected by many friends and relatives. She will be sadly missed by her parents; her brother, Kyle; and her grandparents, Anne and Colin McCabe of Sackville; uncle Michael McCabe of Windsor, NS; aunt Clare McCabe; and cousin, Erik Brab of Banff, AL; uncle Brett McAdam and Aunt Shelly McAdam of Saint John. She was predeceased by her Saint John grandmother, Elizabeth London. Haley C. Goodine Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, Haley C. Goodine, 89, passed away May 19th, 2008 peacefully at home in Perth-Andover, NB. Haley was born in Tilley, NB on November 20, 1918 to Herman and Edna (Plant) Goodine. He married Carolyn D. Wright on November 20, 1956. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Daniel (Wanda) Goodine, Gerald Goodine, Ruth (Lorne) Amos and Kenneth (Patty) Goodine, all of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren Rachel (Matt) van Raalte, Emily, Brittany and Jordan Goodine, Kiersten and Katrina Amos, Bhreagh, Jacob, Julien and Jonah Goodine; sisters, Marie Parody, Phyllis Milton, Leila Argue, Betty (William) Stairs, Maxine (Bobby) McAllister and Marietta (John) Inman; one brother Graydon (Marie) Goodine; sister-in-laws Hazel, Mary and Velma Goodine and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and brothers, Clayton, Murchie, Glazier, Gilbert and Donald Goodine; sisters Eska Tompkins and Louise Goodine. Haley was a member of Calvary Tabernacle, Perth-Andover. He was self-employed as a woods worker for many years and operated heavy equipment in forestry until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and all aspects of outdoor life. Funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 at 2 pm from Calvary Tabernacle with Rev. H. M. Lewis and Rev. D. T. Ferrell officiating. Music for the service was "God of the Mountain" sung by Rachel van Raalte, "Let's Meet by the River" by Rev. and Mrs. D. T. Ferrell, "Inspirational Medley" by Evangeline Inman and a congregational hymn "In the Sweet By and By". A poem "Father's Day 1999" was read by Ruth Amos. Pallbearers for the service were Corey Goodine, Fred Goodine, Ron Goodine, Marvin Goodine, Reggie Parody and George White. Honorary Pallbearers were Fletcher Argue, Gordon Goodine, Ross Goodine, Wayne Goodine, Mark Inman, Roger Pelkey, Royce Tompkins and Robert Goodine. Rita Mary Themens We mourn the passing of Rita Mary Themens (nee Prendergast) of the Dalhousie Nursing Home on June 7th 2008 after a lengthy illness at the age of 90. Beloved daughter of the late John and Mary Ellen Prendergast (nee Dineen). She was the last survivor of her generation, being predeceased by sisters, Kathleen and Mary Hellen; brothers, John, Alf, Patrick, Edmund, Gerald, Harold and Francis. She was also predeceased by her husband, Guy André Themens and will be fondly remembered by her daughter, Mary-Ellen (Dr.Themens) and grandsons, Paul-André and David. Those that cared for her remarked her smile and strength, even to the end. A small service was held at the Dalhousie Nursing Home to mark her passing with Fr. William Arseneault officiating. NEWMAN, Janie Vincenetta (Toole) Of Bradford and Sacred Hearts Parish, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital, following a brief illness, surrounded by her immediate family on the eve of her 59th wedding anniversary to Raymond Oscar Newman. She was 85. Janie was born on May 24, 1923, on the Green Road at Bonshaw, P.E.I. She was the fourth of six children born to James Arthur and Mary (Nolan) Toole. She enjoyed the many summers spent vacationing with the family on P.E.I. In addition to her husband, Raymond, Mrs. Newman is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Haverhill Police Officer Lawrence R. Newman and his wife, Jean Kuo of Ayers Village; daughters and sons-in-law, A. Maureen and Dr. Walter J. Psoter of Ludlow and Paula and her husband, Michael Paradis of Haverhill; sister, Agnes Cavanaugh, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her funeral was held Monday, June 16, 2008, in Bradford, MA. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. SMITH, G. Alden Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth Put out my hand, and touched the face of God. On June 16, Gerald “Alden” Smith passed from this earth with peace and dignity at the age of 61. He was surrounded by his wife, three daughters and his son-in-law Wade whom he loved. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol (Hickey), daughters Tracey, Albany; Pamela, Halifax and Nicole (Wade Waddell), Albany. He is also survived by the following sisters and brothers, Joan (Eric) Parsons, Gail (Everett) Burt, Erroll (Betty), Opal (George) MacEwen, Ian and Wade (Shelley), brother in law Earle (Nicole) Hickey, Kenneth Hickey and sister-in-law Dorine Bryanton. He was predeceased by his father, Gerald; mother Georgie (Buchanan); brother Kevin Smith, sister Ena-May in infancy; nephew Michael Smith; father and mother-in-law George and Elva Hickey and brothers-in-law Ingham Bryanton. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Friday at Trinity United church Summerside at 2 p.m. Interment in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. GUTWEIN, FLORENCE 2008-06-18 The family of Florence Gutwein, age 80, sadly announce her passing on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at St. Joseph‘s Hospice, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Fort William, and educated at St. Martin‘s and St. Patrick‘s High School in the city, Florence started her working career with the Bank of Toronto, as it was then called, and then worked with the Federal Government in Thunder Bay, Atikokan and Ottawa. After a loving 48 year marriage to Louis Gutwein, she returned to Thunder Bay from Ottawa in 2003, after his death, to be closer to her family. Florence had been a breeder of West Highland terriers, and won several show medals with her dogs. She also won awards for her gardening skills, which she was sad to leave behind when her cancer was diagnosed four years ago. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Flora Capricci, sisters Mary, Rose and Pauline, and brothers Louis, Joseph and Vincent Capricci. She is survived by her sister, Adeline Pugsley, sisters-in-law Lucienne Capricci and Doreen Capricci, and several nephews and nieces. Cremation has taken place, and a funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick‘s Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2008, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G. Inurnment will take place in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation to St. Patrick‘s Cathedral or to a charity of your choice. A tree will be planted in memory of Florence Gutwein in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 28, 2009.

Born in Fort William, Ont., she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Lexy (Crawford) Delong. POULIOT (née Lebel), Rachel 1923 - 2008 Rachel est allée rejoindre son Jean le 14 juin 2008. CARLETON, GLENN BRUCE - The unexpected passing of Glenn Bruce Carleton of Saint John West, NB occurred on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at his residence. Born in Saint John on January 1, 1950 a son of the late George Leonard and Hilda Georgina (Appleby) Carleton. Glenn had been employed for many years in Management with NB Tel and was currently employed with Bell. He was a member of RCL Branch 69, in his youth he was involved in hockey, rugby and was a strong swimmer, through the years he was heavily involved in 161 and 527 Air Cadets Squadron as a cadet and an instructor; in 1969 Glenn received the gold "Duke of Edinburgh Award" presented by Prince Phillip; he worked for many years with Soccer New Brunswick and as an instructor with the YMCA Leader Corps and was dedicated to the success of the 1985 Canada Summer Games. Survived by his daughter, Gillian Carleton and his son, Jeffrey Carleton, both of Saint John; his twin brother, Wayne (Wendy) Carleton of Quispamsis, NB; three nephews, Blake, Drew (Lindsey) and Adam Carleton; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
