CURRIE, IDA BERYL (WEAVER) The passing of Ida Beryl (Weaver) Currie, wife of the late George Herbert Currie, of Stanley, occurred on June 4, 2008 at her home. Born on March 29, 1915 in Storeytown, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Jennie (Witherall) Weaver. Ida is survived by three sons, Allan (Lois) Currie of Nashwaak Bridge, Paul Currie of Tyndall, MB and David (Susan) Currie of Stanley; one daughter, Susan (Bob) Wilson of Boissevain, MB; eight grandchildren, Andrew (Lisa) Currie of Airdrie, AB, Joanne (Scott) Williams and Mark Currie both of Fredericton, Allan (Kim) Currie of Winnipeg, MB, Steven, Brodie and Tari Wilson of Boiessevain, MB and Adam Currie of Stanley; sister, Anna Whitcomb of Pensicola, FL, USA; granddaughter-in-law, Andrea Currie of Tyndall, MB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Ida was predeceased by daughter-in-law, Eleanor Currie wife of Paul; grandson, Shawn Currie son of Paul and Eleanor; sister, Helen Lindsay; brothers, Harold, Willie and Allan. Ida received her education in Storeytown (grades 1-8), finished her high school in Doaktown, and attended Normal School in Fredericton, 1932 and 1933. Her teaching career started in Russseltown in 1933, then to Blissfield, Ludlow, Cross Creek, White Head, Grand Manan, and East Bathrust. She had 17 years of teaching in Stanley at which time she retired in 1975. She had many fond memories of each place she taught and talked often of her students and the many people she met. Ida was an active member of the ACW; for her years of dedicated service to the Parish of Stanley WA-ACW, her name was added to the Roll of Honour of the Saint Thomas Anglican Church in March, 2005. She enjoyed her family, camping, knitting, art classes, and playing bridge. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Friday, June 6, 2008 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 2 pm with The Rev. Ranall Ingalls officiating. Pallbearers are Andrew, Mark, Allan and Adam Currie, Steven and Brodie Wilson. Interment will take place at St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery. Born on October 25, 1940 in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England, she was the daughter of the late John and Phillis (Hudson) Peart. Jessie was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Fredericton, NB. She enjoyed her many friends she would meet with at Tim Hortons in Nashwaaksis. Born in Wentworth, N.S. she was the youngest daughter of Myrtle (Gower) and the late Ira Sprague. She was predeceased by her husband, Murray, and her infant brother, Ira. Loving mother of Michael (Mary Jane), Hilden, N.S.; Andrew (Kelli), Hopewell Cape, N.B.; Vicki (Kendall) Cotton, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; grandmother of Casey, Jeremy, Sidney, Kyle and Sara. Sister of Vernon (Eleanor) Sprague, Wentworth, N.S., and Grace (the late William) Fiddes, Lower Onslow, N.S. She was a founding member of the Hilden Fireside Club and a 20-year member of the Hilden Fire Brigade Ladies Auxiliary. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and enjoyed a good game at any time. She will be sadly missed by all. Early W. Mitton Early W. Mitton, 91, of People's Park Tower and formerly of Ayer Avenue, Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, June 5th, 2008. Born in Middle Coverdale, he was the son of the late William and Louise (Jonah) Mitton. Early was a retired C.N.R. Locomotive Engineer with 37 years service; a member of Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church, where he served on various boards and committees over the past years; a member of the B of L.E., past Chairman of the Grievance Committee of #162, past General Secretary Treasurer of the B of L.E. General Committee, Canadian National Lines East. He was a Registered Guide for the Province of New Brunswick and was a Veteran of WWII, having served as a driver mechanic with the RCAF (1940 - 1943). He was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, and enjoyed needlework, woodworking (grandfather clocks and fine crafted wood tables). Early will be sadly missed by his son, Lorne (Audrey) Mitton, Bobcaygeon, ON; sister, Evelyn Walsh, Upper Coverdale; several nieces and nephews. Gloria Bouchard (Maillet) Maynard Mass, U.S.A. Mrs Gloria Bouchard (Maillet) died Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008 peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 58. Born in St-Nobert, a daughter of Marie Maillet of Bouctouche and the late Alban Maillet (1987) Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family and friends both here and in Canada. She especially cherished the time she spent with her husband and daughter proudly watching her grandson Brandon participate in various sporting events. She was a devout Catholic who volunteered many hours for those in need and was an active part of the prayer community at the Espousal Retreat Center in Waltham. She leaves her husband of 35 years, Jean M (Zambo) Bouchard, her daughter Sherry (Richard) and grandson Brandon, all of Waltham, her step son Donald and his family of Templeton, U.S.A., three brothers Noel (Glenda), Gerald (Fernande), Livain (Yvette) of Bouctouche and three sisters, Irene Richard (Bernard), Anise Belliveau (Jean) of Bouctouche and Stella Thibodeau (Léon) of St-Norbert and many nieces and nephews. MacGREGOR, Robert Bertram - died peacefully on Saturday May 31st, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, at the age of 74, after a one-month struggle with cancer. During his long career, he made many friends in broadcasting and motor sports. His “RPM” program of the 1960's and 1970's helped to establish the sport in Canada. He was also a pioneer of the Mont Tremblant Racing Circuit. His coverage of Expo '67 resulted in his being awarded the Centennial Medal of Canada. His later years alternated between private radio (CJAD Montreal, CHRE/CKTB St. Catharines) and the CBC. He retired from the CBC post of Senior Public Relations Officer in 1998, but returned to CBC for a fourth time as Weekend Overnight News Editor/Presenter. He has requested cremation without funeral or memorial services. He is survived by his sons, William and Alexander. 11112197

TAYLOR, Mary Anne - Passed away at her residence in Winnipeg on Sunday May 25, 2008. Mary Anne was born and raised in Owen Sound and received her early education here. She went on to the University of Western and received her masters degree from the University of Waterloo. After graduation Mary Anne moved to Winnipeg to work at the University of Winnipeg. She met and married her husband Arthur Kempan in Winnipeg and they lived in the city until her passing. Mary Anne is survived by her son Christopher Kempan and his partner Brandi Taras, son William Kempan, and sister Nora Taylor of Toronto. She is predeceased by her parents Helen and Humphrey Taylor. MOORE, James Falconer - age 86, passed away peacefully on June 6 after a lengthy illness at the Welland General Hospital with his family by his side. JONAS, Lilian (Early, Haynes), suddenly at home, Lilian went to be with her Lord on June 5, 2008 in her 85th year. Born in Brighton, England, she came to Port Colborne as a war bride and lived in the area for many years before moving to New York State. Predeceased by her husband Alex Jonas, she is survived and missed by her children Sandra Rogers of Toronto, Jennifer Main (Evan) of Wainfleet, and Barry Haynes (Eva) of Brampton. Lilian loved her grandchildren Christopher Main (Karin) of Wainfleet, Elizabeth Kolbinson (Michael) of Port Colborne and Cathy Tibbetts (Randy) of Toronto and her six great grandchildren. Always ready to learn new things, she had recently taken up ceramics. She enjoyed decorating elaborate cakes, shopping, reading and attending the Tuesday morning prayer group at St. Simeon's Episcopal church. She was blessed with many caring friends. HEUSTON, Mr. Henry - With great sadness and love that we the family of Henry Heuston Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather announce his passing on Thursday June 5th, 2008 at his residence. He fought valiantly for 3 years with cancer and is now gone home to be with his Lord. He is survived by his beloved wife Marylou (Howe), of 54 years of marriage and his four children Henry Heuston Jr., Lynn Vandermolen and her husband Bob, Marlene Fleming and her partner Peter Morlog and Robby Heuston and his wife Dawn, all of Chatham. He will be deeply remembered by his eleven grandchildren and his seven great grandchildren. Dear brother of Tom Heuston and his wife Bev of Chatham. Special friend of Nelson Junior of Chatham and Eddie Leide of Hamilton. Henry started working at General Bakery's in 1956 as a shipper, later getting his own route to Sarnia everyday, then becoming the sales representative for the company. He retired when Weston's bought Wonder Bread. He retired only for a few years and then started working at McDonald's, fixing everything that broke for twenty years. The family would like to give a special pray for Dr. Sullivian, Cheryl, Karen and Jackie of the Oncology Lab in the Chatham Hospital, their kindness and friendship will never be forgotten.
