MELLICK, Bruce - At Brantford General Hospital on Sunday, June 8, 2008; Bruce Corless Mellick of R.R. #2 Princeton, in his 78th year; dear husband of Eleanor Campbell; father of Cameron (Kathy) Mellick of Brantford and Brad (Maria) Mellick of Woodstock; Grandpa of Robbie, Kimberley, Jodi, Cassandra, Samantha, Maxwell and Fernanda; great grandpa of Alex and Leland; and brother of Joyce Wilson of Tillsonburg. Mr. Mellick farmed on the 4th concession of Blandford-Blenheim Township and custom baled in the area since the early 1950's. LOUNSBURY, MRS. DORIS LOUISE - Mrs. Doris Louise Lounsbury of Plumweseep passed away on June 7, 2008 at the age of 92. Doris is survived by two stepsons, George (Barbara) of BC and Douglas of Toronto; as well as several nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her husband, Howard who passed away in 2005 and by her only brother, Gordon several years ago. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held Monday evening from 7 to 9. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 will hold a tribute Monday evening at 7. A celebration of Doris's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel Tuesday June 10th at 11am. STRONG, Kenneth - of Port Colborne passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the Port Colborne General Hospital on Sunday June 8, 2008 in his 77th year. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Strong. Father of Marc and his wife Rose and Kevin and his wife Bev. Dear Grandpa of Deanna (Andrew), Mathew, Patrick, Katelyn and Sabrina as well as his great grandchildren Lucais and Michaela. Stepfather of Peter Bidgood, Michael Bidgood, Brenda vanHengstum and Bruce Bidgood. He will be missed by his step grandchildren Peter, Paul, Sterling, Paige, Deanna, Tiffany, Shauna, Marissa and Sinead. Mr. Strong is survived by his sister Noreen Bognar and his nephew Jeff (Heather) Bognar. He was predeceased by his brothers Michael and Tommy Strong and his step son John Bidgood. SCHMID, Wilhelm (Willi) Karl August 26, 1925 - June 6, 2008 Willi Schmid, beloved husband of Audrey Schmid of Calgary, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2008 at the age of 82 years, with his family by his side. Willi was born in Vienna, Austria on August 26, 1925 and immigrated to Canada in 1954. As an iron worker, he supervised the construction of many of Calgary's landmark buildings from the 1960's through to the 1980's, including the Calgary Tower, TD Square, the Calgary International Airport and many more. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Audrey; his five children, Gerhard (Lynn), Willi (Linda), Ursula (Charlie), Ronald, and Steven (Cyndi) and their mother Hilda; his seven grandchildren, Tracy, Lisa, Jolene, Erin, Christopher, Brett, and David; and two great-granddaughters, Anna and Lauren. Willi is also survived by his stepchildren, Craig (Linda), Brad (Kathy) and Gail (Don); and eight step-grandchildren, Stephen, Mathew, Jessica, Thomas, Laura, Robert, Connor, and Daly; as well as his sisters, Erna and Adolfine; his brother Rudi; and many nieces and nephews. Willi was predeceased by his sister Hansi. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Harold was a retired employee of the former Outboard Marine Corporation and a long time Otonabee township farmer. He was also Head Boy at PCVS in 1931-32. Dear father of James Wilson of Peterborough. Loving grandfather to Kimberley also of Peterborough and Lindsay of Montreal. A cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews on both the Wilson and Wright sides of the family. MARCONI, Frank (Francis) - Frank passed away peacefully in his 90th year, on June 5, 2008, with his family at his side. Frank was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 1930's. He was a veteran of WWII. While stationed in Wales, he met his beloved Marion (1923-2004). Frank will be sadly missed by his devoted children Reed (Ruth) and Christopher (Rosalyn). Predeceased by his daughter Andrea (1985). Loving husband of Dorothy Louise (nee Nicol) for 54 years. Dear father of Wendy Louise Nicholls and her husband Robert James Barrese, and Gordon Roderick Nicholls. Gordon practiced law in St. Catharines for 18 years with the law firm Seymour, Lampard, Goldring, Young & Nicholls until being appointed as a Federal Judge, Ontario County Court in 1971. In 1990 Gordon was transferred to the Ontario Court of Justice and in 1999 to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, General Division. Gordon sat 32 years in Welland until his retirement in 2003. As per Gordon's wishes, a small private ceremony has taken place. If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society in Gordon's memory. WILSON, Cpl. Craig Alexander, CD Proudly served 22 years with the Canadian Armed Forces, including 17 years with the 2VP, PPCLI, and 5 years as a Military Police Officer at C.F.B. Kingston. Tragically, as the result of an accident, on Thursday, June 5, 2008. Craig Wilson, in his 43rd year, dearly loved father, best friend and “Hero“ to his daughters, Sara and Morgan, and husband of Tracy Wilson, all of Kingston. Dear son of Sally Wilson of Ottawa and Lester Wilson of Yarmouth, NS. Eldest brother to Grant Wilson (Juanita) of Toronto and Ross Wilson of Utica, MI, uncle to Riley, Taylor and Makenna, and grandson of Florence Wilson of St. Stephen, NB. Also remembered by several aunts, uncles and cousins, and sadly missed by his special friend Terri Burgess. COWLING, Eva 2008-06-09 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Eva Cowling on Sunday, June 8, 2008, after her third bout with cancer. She was born April 1, 1927 in Coldwell, Manitoba. She had her family in Russell, Manitoba, then with her husband George, moved to South Gillies, Ontario, where they raised their family. She worked at Couches Store and made many life time friends. After moving to Fort William, she babysat for many years and volunteered at senior homes. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and her time spent at the 55 Plus Centre. She was a life-time member at Kakabeka Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Branch 6. Eva is survived by her son Mel (Bev), grandchildren Hazel Frost (Tim), Dee Dee Powell (David), Crystal Dolph, Connie Cowling, Christie Jaggard (Brad), Connie Boisvert (Jeff), Kevin Nelson (Heidi), Cheryl Nelson (Denis), many great grandchildren and sister-in-law Muriel Cowling and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1991, daughters Marion in 2004 and Millie in 2007, grandson Tommy, granddaughter Shelly, her parents, brothers, sisters and in-laws. Funeral services for Mrs. Cowling will be held on Friday, June 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2820 Donald Street East, with Pastor John Schmidt officiating.

BRASSARD, 2008-06-09 BRASSARD Ms. Liette Brassard, age 59 years, a resident of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully with her daughter Jeannette Godin and cousin Lorraine Frappier at her bedside, at the TBRHSC on June 6, 2008. She was born on August 11, 1948 in Angliers, Quebec. She moved to Thunder Bay in the 1960’s with her mom Mary Brassard. Liette is survived by her son Darrell Brassard, daughter Jeannette Godin, grandson Evan Godin-De Wolfe, sister Anita Bernard, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, an aunt, and an uncle. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Alex Brassard. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, celebrated by Rev. Richard Kowalchuk. Interment in Mountainview Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Thunder Bay District Humane Society or the Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.

MCCARRON, JOSEPH FRANCIS - passed away at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing on Sunday June 8th 2008 after a lengthy illness. Born in Saint John to Frank and Caroline (Laracey) McCarron. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Noreen Taylor. He leaves to mourn his sister, Clare, Lois Harvey (Dr. Neil) Nfld., and brother-in-law, James Taylor. Several nieces and nephews, Mary Luckett (David), Patricia Taylor (Norman), Katherine Taylor, Alta. Carolyn Dicks (Kenneth), Susan Roberts (Bill), Dr. Andrew and Dr. Shelley Sullivan, Nfld, Dr. Michael Taylor (Wendy) Saint John. Joe was a graduate of St. Vincent's Boys High School. He served in the Air Force in England in WW II. He was well known in the plumbing business in administration. He was employed with James Robertson and later Emco Ltd. Joe was a regular and committed blood donor of the Red Cross Blood Transfusion Program and quietly contributed to many charities of the less fortunate. He enjoyed many summers at his camp in Sussex hunting and fishing, an avid sportsman caringly provided his friends and their families with a country vacation. He will be sorely missed by family and friends. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425), on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
