SEPPALA, Virginia Laura 1940 - 2008. Virginia passed away suddenly on April 30, 2008 at her home in New Zealand. Beloved daughter of George and Lila (Maki) Seppala (both predeceased). Born in Creighton Mine and lived in Lively & Calgary before moving to New Zealand. Survived by her children Krista Ferguson (John Healy), Douglas Ferguson, Justin Ferguson all in New Zealand & David Ferguson predeceased in 2003 in New Zealand also predeceased by her sister Carol Seppala 1994. Viginia worked as a nurse at the Sudbury General Hospital then in Calgary. She will be sorely missed by her Uncle Bob and Aunt Barbara Maki in Sudbury & Uncle Bill & Aunt Frances Maki in Lively. She will also be missed by all of her cousins in Canada and Finland. HAYES, Oran John - In loving memory of Oran John Hayes, 73 years, who passed away at home on Monday, May 5th, 2008. Beloved husband of Patricia Hayes (nee Reeds) of Capreol. Loving father of Michael (Debbie), Richard (Patty) both of Sault Ste. Marie, Patricia (Steve Kring) of Capreol and Terry (Julie) of Sudbury. Cherished granpa of Samantha, Chrissy, Cheryl, Shawna, Julie, Tyrell, Jamie Lynn, Logan, Reed, Jake and great granpa of Alex, Eric, Jacob, Joshua, Kylie and Justin. Dear brother of Alma Harvey and Eileen Hayes (predeceased). Predeceased by his parents John and Gracia Hayes. He will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Oran was born on April 5th, 1935 in Kearney, Ontario. Retired from Canadian National Railways where he worked from July 1954 to August 1990. He was a forgiving Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan. Oran played 3rd base for the Kearney Cubs and Huntsville Merchants, coached minor hockey in both Kearney and Capreol was a member of the Kearney town council a board member of the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum in Capreol was also an avid hunter. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Untied Church in Capreol on Thursday, May 8th, 2008 at 11 a.m. Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium. LOXTON, Muriel Cosgrove - With great sadness we announce the passing of Muriel Cosgrove (Loxton) on May 4, 2008 at Marshall Gowland Manor - She went to be with her Lord and Saviour with her daughter Nancy and granddaughter Melissa holding her hands at her bedside. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Boyd, son-in-law Larry Waller and sister Jean Chase. Grandchildren DiDi, Margo, Andy, Wendy, Melissa and Trevor, great grandchildren Lee Ann, Michelle, Mathew, Luke, Rachelle, Tyler, Cortney, Zachary, Riley, Tanner and Reece and great great granddaughter Alexis and many nieces and nephews. HANSEN, Margrethe On Friday May 2, 2008, Margrethe Hansen (nee Jorgensen) peacefully passed away at age 86 after a short illness. Margrethe was predeceased by her husband William (1996) to whom she was happily married for 52 years. Words cannot express how much beloved Margrethe will be missed by her son Allan, her daughter Wendy and her grandsons Kyle, Chester and Bo. She will be sadly missed by her sister Dora Jespersen and her brothers Peter Jorgensen and Jorgen Jorgensen and all family and friends who are living in Margrethe's native land of Denmark and here in Canada. Margrethe came to Canada with her husband William in the summer of 1952. Margrethe helped with the family construction business for many years and provided a home to young workers arriving in Canada. In the later 1960s, she joined Fairweathers Billings Bridge and seventeen years later, she "retired" to work in the family's garden ornament business in Kemptville as "master painter". Margrethe was a kind and giving gentle spirited woman. Her wonderful smile was always there to greet you and make you feel welcome. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Queensway Carelton Hospital Cancer fund. The family will hold a private service for Margrethe. MOLLOY, Patricia Mary (nee Bulger) Suddenly, after a short illness, Patricia passed to the Lord on May 3, 2008. She was the beloved wife of Dennis, mother to Shauna (Ken Small), Stephen (Corinne Pommer), and Michael, and sister to Sheila (Robert Rodgers). Grandmother to Jennifer, Victoria, Shane, Hannah, Spencer, Eddie and Reilly and great-grandmother to Reyna, Dominique and Hailey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be sadly missed by her adopted Molloy family - her sisters Judy (Bob Pound), Sheilagh (Terry Wardrop), Coreen, Myrna (Craig Cloutier), and her brothers Paul (Joan) and Mark (Els). She was predeceased by her parents, James Bernard Cyril and Josephine Miriam Bulger (nee Tritschler) and her parents-in-law Alexander Celestine and Mary Eileen Molloy (nee McDonald). Born in Rhyl, N. Wales on November 28, 1944, to a military family during the latter years of World War II, Patricia moved with her family around Europe, until the family made the decision to immigrate to Canada in 1955. Her family settled in Western Manitoba, and she attended school in Virden, Manitoba. She made the decision to move to Winnipeg, and met her life partner through the intercession of Aunt Violet. Pat and Dennis were married on July 10, 1965. When Dennis' employment brought the family to Eastern Ontario, Pat opened a hair salon, first out of the family home, and then when business began to boom, at a location in Chesterville. Her decision in 1985 to return to complete her High School education was a source of great pride for her entire family. As her children grew up and left home, Pat became a supporter of the Guide Dogs for the Blind. She and Dennis were involved in the training of several guide dogs. Her dedication to this cause benefited many people. As her health began to decline, she was treated by her long-time doctor and friend Charles Adamson. In her last days, the staff of both the Winchester District Memorial Hospital and the Ottawa General Hospital provided Pat with great care and concern. In particular, the family would like to thank Dr. Legault of WDMH. In respect of her wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 11 AM at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Chesterville, Ontario. RIMMER, Adelaide (Addie) (nee Rackham). At the age of eighty-five, passed away peacefully at her home in Pierrefonds, wife of the late Tom. Loving Mum of eight children, Hilda (predeceased) (Jim Roper), Vernon (predeceased), Joan (Allen Rasmussen), Susan (Tom Pender), Janet (Jean-Roch Hamel), Wendy, Barry (Nancy), Jacqueline (Tim McKeown), twenty grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. STRAUB, Ella May (nee Rudman) April 12, 1939 - May 4, 2008 In the early morning of Sunday, May 4, 2008, Ella May Straub (nee Rudman) lost her courageous struggle with cancer at the Rosedale Hospice in Calgary. She passed away in the arms of her husband and with her three sons by her side. She was 69 years of age. Ella will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Pete, of forty-five years; three sons, Don (Maritza) of Villahermosa, Mexico, Dale (Ellen) of Dubai, UAE, and Grant (Carolyn) of Calgary; five grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Katie, Daniel, and Donald and her loyal canine companion "Chester". Also left behind to cherish her memory are her sisters, Kathleen, Barbara (Len) and Karen (Brent); brothers Lorne and Randy, and many nieces, nephews and good friends. She was predeceased by her father Charlie, mother Blanche, two sisters Shirley and Doris, and two brothers Don and Gordon. SZAUTNER, Frank September 30, 1931 - May 4, 2008 Frank Szautner, beloved husband of Betty Szautner of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the age of 76 years. Frank enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and playing darts. He was employed with the Calgary Board of Education for fourteen years. He also helped build the Calgary Tower. Besides his loving wife Betty, Frank is survived by number-one son Ron; his four daughters, Fran Szautner (John), Debie Graven, Teri Paetkau, and Katherine Lawrence (Dave), all of Calgary; fifteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, five brothers, and numerous extended family. Frank was predeceased by his parents; his brother John and son-in-law Tim Paetkau. TULLIS, Margaret Isobell R.N. July 9, 1915 - May 4, 2008 Peacefully on Sunday, May 4th, 2008 at Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre, Ottawa. Margaret was born at Lanark, Ontario, the second daughter of Matthew and Eulalie Tullis. Dear sister to Bessie Tullis, Evelyn Miller, Kay Mackintosh, Helen MacKechnie and brother-in-law Douglas MacKechnie. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends share in her loss. She was pre-deceased by her sister Mary Moore and brothers-in-law Cyril Moore, Douglas Mackintosh and Robert Miller. A dedicated nurse for over 40 years, Margaret worked at the Ottawa Civic and Winchester hospitals. In retirement, she was an active community volunteer for the past 27 years. WATSON, Ruth Josephine (nee Barrett) Passed away peacefully at her home on May 2, 2008 at the age of 87. Predeceased by her husband Warren (Tiny) Watson in 1997 and her sister, Grace Wyllie in 2007. She is survived by her two daughters, Terry (George) Carrigan and Jane (Bob) Clayton; five grandchildren, John, Jim, Tracy, Doug and Ken; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Samantha and Isabelle. She is also survived by her sister, Josie Elliott. Ruth was born in Prince Rupert, B.C. Her family moved to Edmonton, then to Calgary in 1929. Ruth retired from Pritchard's Drug Store in Altadore. During her retirement she would always love to go out walking. You would frequently see Ruth walking and visiting with people along 33 and 34 Avenue S.W. (Marda Loop). A "celebration" of her life will be held at South Calgary Funeral Centre (12700 Macleod Trail South) on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 12:00 (noon). Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. Loved step-mother of Richard (Sharon) Whiteley of Vancouver Island and Rob (late Bonnie) and Ron (Loa) Whiteley both of Calgary. Averil will be fondly remembered by David (Wendy) Barkley, her grandchildren Stephen and Donna Barkley and Kathy and Nathan West; great grandchild Ryan, her nieces, nephews, all her family and friends. WADE, LEONARD ALBAN Leonard A. Wade of Harvey, York County, NB passed away peacefully May 4, 2008, surrounded by his family at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at Fredericton, NB on March 3, 1922, he was a son of the late C. Wilfred and Annie (Archibald) Wade. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with 547 RAF Sqdn., Coastal Cmd. He was a retired Captain with the Canadian Armed Forces with more than 30 years service and subsequently retired from the Federal Civil Service. Leonard was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Fredericton Branch 4 and Hiram Masonic Lodge #6 at Fredericton. Leonard is survived by his wife, E. Kathleen (Hovey) Wade; three daughters, Debra Drijber (Rudy), Moffat, ON, Deanna Wade, Fredericton, NB and Cheryl Weekes (Gary), New Maryland, NB; one son, James Wade (Maria), League City, TX; 11 grandchildren, Cailin, Dan and Luke Drijber, Robbie, Lisa and Adam Kennedy, Alysha-Rae, Amber and Alannah Weekes, Tina Lashambe and Daniel Mitchell; one sister, Margaret Lane, Niagara Falls, ON; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leonard was predeceased by a brother, Archie Wade and two sisters, Mary Slack-Paulton and Alma Bujold. Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Harvey Baptist Church, 1929 Route 3, Harvey Station on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Laurie Fenerty officiating. Interment will later at Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredericton. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. A Royal Canadian Legion tribute service will be held at the church during the funeral service on Thursday.
