MORRY, Thomas Graham Suddenly, taken peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, May 1st, 2008 in his 89th year. Tom is survived by his wife Evelyn Wheeler Morry, his beloved children Lanny, Chris (Jamie), Glen (Randi), daughter-in law Marietta (Retek), grandchildren Mike, Nicola, Peter, Emily, Gillian, Bryan, Lauren, Will and Holly and great-granddaughter Oonagh. Predeceased by his son Thomas Graham VI and grandson Ian. He is survived by his brothers Reg and Howard, and his sisters Elsie and Catherine. Predeceased by Phyllis, Bill, Jean and Priscilla. Tom came from a small fishing village in Newfoundland, and for the rest of his life he was extremely proud of his heritage. He devoted his working life to the Public Service, from which he retired as a Senior Executive after 42 years. But even in retirement, he continued working as a consultant on anti-discrimination cases - right up to the day before he passed away. Tom's wit, charm and joie-de-vivre will be greatly missed by all who knew him. RHODES, Lillian (nee Gathercole) March 29, 1937 - April 30, 2008 Lil Rhodes, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the age of 71. Lil leaves to mourn, her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Cliff; son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Jennifer; and grandson Lucas. She is also survived by her brothers Jim (Fay) and Don (Wilma); sister Evelyn (Renee); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lil was predeceased by her husband Charles H. Rhodes (Herb), brothers George (Zoe), Tom, Bob (Georgie), Frank (Terry) and Les (Audrey); and sisters Grace and Fran (Ron). Lil was born on March 29, 1937 in Pincher Creek, Alberta to Walter and Grace Gathercole. Lil was humble in her accomplishments. She led the Calgary Stampede Parade as a flag bearer in the 1960s. Lil and her friend Bev established the original Touchdown Horses for the Calgary Stampeders in the 1960s as well. Prior to the birth of her children, she worked as a nursing assistant in Calgary. Lil was an active volunteer as well. She began with the Calgary 1988 Olympics and continued to volunteer for many years. Lil loved to cook and bake. Our family hosted many extended family suppers through the years. She will be remembered for her laughter and sense of humour. At Lil's request there will be no formal Service, however, a celebration of Lil and her husband Herb's lives will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Jumping Pound Hall from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bethany Care Centre (Cochrane) in memory of Lil. RUDICHUK, Linda Jean March 27, 1950 - April 27, 2008 It is with extreme sadness to announce, after a courageous battle with cancer, the peaceful passing of Linda Rudichuk on April 27, 2008; a beautiful lady, wife of twenty-two years, sweetheart and best friend of Jerry Rudichuk. SERIGHT, Betty Lorraine (nee Parnham) April 28, 1932 - May 1, 2008 Our dear wife and mom passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love on May 1, 2008. She will forever be missed by her loving husband and best friend of forty-five years, Doug; her seven children, Cathy (Fred), Bobbie (Daryl), Jan (Ray), Michael (Jean), Melanie (Ed), Kara (Jody), and Nikki (Ioan); her thirteen precious grandchildren, and her puppy, Maggie. Mom is also survived by her brother Jack and special niece, Debbie. We will remember Mom's love of her gardens, her magical way with roses, and the many smiles she planted in our hearts. SALTARELLI, Albert Edward - On Friday, May 2, 2008, surrounded by his devoted family, Albert Saltarelli peacefully left the struggles of this life into the arms of his loving wife, Bridie, and his cherished grandson, Spencer. Much loved father of Brian, Kathie, Nick and Noreen. Respected father-in-law of Donna (Kreamer), Bob Porter, Patti (Jordan) and Wayne Death. Cherished grandfather of Corey (Orietta), Alice (Steve), Albert (Cathya), Kristi (Chad), Tim, Julia (Alain), Kevin, Shannen and Mikylah. Great-grandfather of Megan, Matteo, Luca, Serena and Alexandro. Albert is survived by his sister Lillian Fazekas and brother Charlie (Lee). He was predeceased by his parents and beloved step-mother, by his brothers Domenic, Harry, Charles, John, Alfred and William and by his sisters Carmella, Virginia, Mary and Laura. Albert was born in Welland in 1926 to Nicola and Letizia (Sciarra) Saltarelli and was lovingly cared for following his mother's death by his step-mother Nancy (Trivisonno). He proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II from 1943 to 1945 and was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 4. He served on Welland City Council from 1962 to 1976 and from 1991 to 1994. Albert was a successful businessman who expended much energy giving back to the community. He loved nature and was actively involved in conservation efforts for the region. Albert loved to cook and make wine. He and Bridie were warm and generous hosts to friends and family during their 59 years together. During his last few months, Albert was well cared for by the staff of the 300 wing at Rapelje Lodge and, in particular, by close family friend Kathleen MacKenzie. Friends may call at J.J. TESKEY, William Howard - in his 84th year. Passed away at home on Thursday, May 1st, 2008. Beloved husband of Gertrude for 58 years. Loving father to John (Sheila), Gary (Minerva), Roy (Jane), Mark (Michele) and Cheryl (Vincent). Grandfather to Jeffrey, Ian, Philip, Christine, Kurt, William, Scott, James, Gary, Patrick, Katie and Emily; brother to Marion Eadie; predeceased by brothers Melvin, George and sister Joan. Howard was born in Orillia, a farmer's son. He met and married Gertie in Orillia and they came to Toronto in 1944 and started their family. In 1952, Howard and his brothers George and Mel founded Teskey Construction and Teskey Concrete which has provided a livelihood for many Toronto area families for over 50 years. The business provided the backdrop for a wonderful life with family, friends and work colleagues alike, as Howard will be remembered as someone who loved life and lived it to the fullest. Howard greatly enjoyed golfing at St. George's, the National and the Vines Golf Clubs, cottage time in Orillia, winters in Florida and taking trips with Gertie and “the boys“. His dry sense of humour and enjoyment of time with friends and family, together with the “odd“ cigar were signature Howard moments. Howard was a devoted hockey dad and became a devoted hockey Granddad and took pride in all of his childrens' and grandchildrens' accomplishments, whether hockey, golf, baseball, academic achievements or just visits with him. Howard will be greatly missed by the employees of Teskey, his many work acquaintances, his golfing and card room buddies, and his and Gertie's many dear friends. LAMONT, Herbert - At home on May 1st, 2008, Herbie was taken from us too soon. Husband of Nancy (Pooler) just 27 days short of their 25th Wedding Anniversary and 5 months short of his 65th birthday. Brother of Alfred (Dianna) Lamont, predeceased by Alice Holditch (May 2005). POOLE, Flora - Passed away in 97th year in Oakville with her family at her bedside on April 23rd, 2008. Flora was predeceased by her husband Bramwell Poole (1992). Loving and proud mother of son Ronald Poole (Joan) of Windsor and daughter Sharron Park of North Bay. Cherished Grandma to Rhondi Lyons (Rob) and great-grandma or (GG) to Taylor and Cody Lyons all of Georgetown. Grandma to Jennifer Poole of Cobourg and grandson David Poole of Windsor. Survived by her dear sister Gertrude Balmain of Fredricton NB and predeceased by her sister Marjorie Trites and brother Walter Leslie of Fredricton NB. Flora will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Flora had a special considerate nature and wonderful sense of humor that touched everyone she knew and will be missed by all. Flora worked from her home as a bookkeeper for her husband's TV and radio business. She was also a very active member of the First Baptist Church and the I.O.D.E. Algonquin chapter in North Bay for many years. We would like to thank all the staff at Post Inn Village in Oakville for the wonderful extra special care and support they gave Flora and her family.
