STOREY, John Richard (J.R.) - He never did give up hope but in his mercy the Lord wrapped his arms around him and took him home. Peacefully at home on Friday, May 2, 2008 after a long battle with cancer that never let him lose his love of work and family, John was given his rest. Devoted and loving husband to Louise. WOLSTENHOLME, Kay - Beloved. 44, earthy, artistic, intelligent, emotionally literate, and just a tad whacky, Kay touched a diversity of hearts with her ability to reach below the surface to find meaningful connections. Her dreams to complete a fine arts degree and return home to her beloved England with her sweetie, Mikaela, were tragically cut short by her diagnosis of stomach cancer. We are indebted to the medical community, who took exceptional care of Kay over the last 6 months. She chose the quiet hours of the early morning of April 21st, alone with Mikaela, the full moon peeping through the window, to leave this earth. A Celebration of Kay's Life will be held September 21st at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area Outdoor Centre to remember her wonderful spirit, her creative genius and the gifts she shared. This beautiful soul is sorely missed by Mikaela, the rest of the Hughes family and her many friends: her chosen family. KENNY, WINNIFRED MARIE (1911 - 2008) - Winnifred (Winnie) Marie Kenny, passed away at York Manor Nursing Home on May 1st, 2008 at the age of 96. Born in Priceville, NB, in 1911, the daughter of the late Hartley and Susan (Beek) Price. She is survived by one son, Robert Kenny (Joan) of Fredericton; three granddaughters, Mary Ellen Kenny (Fred Headon) of Montreal, PQ, Natalie Kenny (Tim Richardson) and Brigette Kenny of Fredericton; one great-granddaughter, Ellen Richardson; one great-grandson, William Headon. Also survived by sisters, Mildred Clowater (Sanford) of New Bandon, NB, Leola Smith of Calgary, AB, Doris Woodworth of Fredericton and Flora Rice of Saint John, NB; and several nieces and nephews. Winnifred was predeceased by her husband, Irvine Kenny; one son, Donald Kenny; brothers, Stanley, Joseph and Henry Price; sisters, Jesse Charters, Louise Maston, Juanita Fletcher and Margaret Munn. Winnifred devoted her life to her family, friends, her church and community volunteer work. She touched the lives of all who knew her by her gracious, kind and spiritual nature. Although there will be no visitation by request, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 5th at 7 pm from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Crockett Street, Marysville, NB with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. HOOPER (CHOUINARD), ANITA (NINI) PATRICIA - Passed away unexpectedly at her home in Willow Grove, NB, on Thursday, May 01, 2008 at age 61. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of Helen (Dwyer) Chouinard. Anita will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 39 years, William (Bill) Hooper; her daughter, Krista (Michael) Hartery of Grand Bay-Westfield; son, Brent of Saint John. and grandsons, Keegan, Noah and Declan Hartery. Anita is survived by two brothers, Vernon (Patricia) Chouinard, Peter (Terri) Chouinard and her sister, Mary Martha (Thomas) Butler, all of Saint John. She will also be missed by nieces; Lisa Chouinard, Sarah Chouinard, Jill Butler of Saint John, Katie Butler, of Fredericton and nephews, Craig (Carmel) Chouinard of Fredericton and Jonathan Chouinard of Chance Harbour, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Anita is pre-deceased by her father, Amédée Chouinard and her infant brother, Joseph William at birth. She was a graduate of Simonds High School and in her earlier years, Nini worked for the Canadian Red Cross traveling across the Province. She also enjoyed her employment at Calp's for many years. She was a fun-loving friend to many including life-long friend, Judianne Luck. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her young grandsons. Nini loved visiting with her cousins in Balmoral, NB and spent many happy times there. Nini grew up in Loch Lomond and enjoyed swimming and time at Treadwell Lake with family and friends. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, with visitations on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Loch Lomond Road, Saint John, on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. William's Cemetery in St. Martins N.B. John W. Strayhorn 1938-2008 John ,70, of Hebron passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2008 at the Sussex Medical Health Center. He was born on April 13, 1938, the son of the late John M. and Annie E. (Sinclair) Strayhorn. John was born deaf and attended the school for the deaf in Halifax for his education. He also graduated from the Moncton Community College having taken Upholstery and cabinet making. He retired from the Fundy National Park where he worked as grounds keeper for over 35 years. John liked farming and took great pleasure in raising sheep. He also enjoyed doing carpentry. He was very well known throughout his community and also by his many friends of the deaf community. He was a true inspiration to many. He was a very special person who will be fondly remembered. John was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He will be sadly missed by his several cousins and numerous friends. He will be resting at the St. Stephen's United Church in Alma on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00pm. The funeral will be held at the Church on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 2:00pm with Rev. Carol Mullin officiating. Interment will be in the Alma United Cemetery, Alma, N.B. Laurie Levi LeBlanc 1928 - 2008 Laurie LeBlanc passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the K.E. Spencer Memorial Home after a lengthy illness. Born on June 9, 1928 in Port Elgin, son of the late Joseph and Marie Blanche (Leger) LeBlanc. He will be sadly missed by his wife Joan; one daughter, Heather of Moncton; one son, Mark (Lynn McEachern) of Riverview; six sisters, Celeste Melanson, Lucy Melanson, Pamela Melanson all of Moncton, Lorraine Atkinson of Sackville, Lorette Woodward of Florida, Shirley Groleau of Montreal; and one brother, Bob (Lorraine) LeBlanc of Moncton. Besides his parents, Laurie was predeceased by one brother, Charlie; and one sister, Vicki. VACHON, Jean Rheal - (1946-2008) - The family announces with sorrow his unexpected death at home on Friday, May 2, 2008 at age 61 years. Beloved husband of Rose-Anna (nee Laverdure) and dear father of Richard of Timmins. Elle était la fille de feu Pierre-Ambroise Gendron et de feu Augustine Royer. Outre sa famille religieuse, elle laisse dans le deuil ses belles-soeurs Lucille Aubin (feu Bernardin), Françoise Pilon (feu Fernand), Desneiges Dubé (feu Lucien) ainsi que ses neveux et nièces, parents et amis.
