Elle fut prédécédée par son fils Ronald (Louise) et son frère Lucien Charlebois (Jeanne d'Arc). La célébration eucharistique aura lieu en l'église Notre-Dame de Lourdes (Cyrville), 1187 rue Michael, le samedi 3 mai 2008 à 12h. Il était le tendre époux de Pierrette Martin, le fils de feu Lucien Lalonde et de feu Cécile Chartrand. Il laisse ses enfants adorés: Chantal (Paul Maisonneuve) de St-Isidore et Marc-André (Rachel Leduc) de St-Pascal Baylon; ses 4 petits-enfants chéris: Alec, Cloé, Jade et Yan. Il laisse également 3 frères et 4 soeurs:Yvon (Fernande), Hubert (Micheline), Pauline (Jacques Henri), Suzanne (Pierre Dion), Bernard (Hélène), Christianne (Richard Martin) et Carmen (Richard Jérôme) ainsi que sa belle-mère: Agathe Martin, sa belle-soeur Denise Martin et ses beaux-frères: Ronald (Jocelyne), Jacques Martin et une belle-soeur, Patricia McTeer, plusieurs neveux, nièces et ami(e)s. Outre ses frères capucins, il laisse dans le deuil sa soeur Rita (Lucien Bériault) et ses frères: Marcel (Yolande Marineau) et Ronald (Carmen Mantah) ainsi que des neveux et des nièces. Sa dépouille sera exposée à la Chapelle de la Réparation du Sanctuaire du Sacré-Coeur à Pointe-aux-Trembles le mercredi 30 avril à partir de 14h, une soirée de prières se déroulera le même soir à 20h et les funérailles seront célébrées au même endroit, le jeudi 1er mai à 11h. Le frère Joseph-Marie est né à Ottawa le 22 octobre 1921. Il a fait profession solennelle chez les capucins le 2 août 1946. Il a rendu de nombreux services dans plusieurs fraternités de la province. Il a connu également la vie missionnaire pendant quelques années en Inde. Il était particulièrement dévoué à l'accueil des frères et de tous ceux qui étaient de passage.

HAZLITT, Herbert Scott "Bert" Passed away at his residence in Burlington, on Monday, April 28, 2008, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy. Dear father of Bill and his wife Dorothy of Sarnia, Jim of Burlington, Judy Collum and her husband Bob of Burlington and Dave of Vancouver. Grandfather of Sean, Stephanie, Tina, Koreen, Tammy, Matthew, Jamie and Kayley and great-grandfather of seven great-grandchildren. Companion and best friend of Marjorie (Midge) Lubert. Predeceased by his sister Wilma Rogers. Bert served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in WWII. Upon return, he began his career as a Chartered Accountant serving various senior positions in this capacity. Bert will be remembered for his genuine love for his family, his passion for swimming, golf and wine and his never-ending humour and wit. Cremation has taken place. BAKER, Charles Henry Peacefully, on Sunday, April 27, 2008 with his 3 daughters by his side, Charles left us at the age of 94 to be rejoined with his beloved wife and best friend Agnes (October 2000). Charles was born in Abergavenny, Wales in 1913 and is predeceased by his parents Carrie and Clement Morgan Baber, his brother John and his sisters Barbara, Norma and Heather. Charlie leaves behind three daughters whom he cherished; Barbara Baker and Sister Frances O'Brien of Kingston, Betty (John) Pilbrow of Kingston and Lynn (Pasquale) Stefanelli of Ottawa. In England, Charlie leaves his sister Dinah (Douglas) Hewlett and many nieces and nephews. He was most proud of his eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and extended family. Special thank you to the doctors and nurses of the Ottawa Civic Hospitals ICU whom provided Charlie and his family tremendous comfort in his final hours. Friends may pay respects at The Kelly Funeral Home 2313 Carling Avenue (West of Carlingwood) on Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. CLARMONT, Doris "Dorie" Eileen nee Armstrong Peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the age of 90. A life long resident of Old Ottawa East and the Glebe and a parishioner of Canadian Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Dorie was also an accomplished artist and was a member of the Ottawa Art Association. Once Dorie picked up a brush her life changed forever. She was dedicated to her art and was always willing to teach her gift of painting. Her work has been displayed in Ottawa's leading galleries and can be found in many local, private and corporate collections. Her paintings can be found in homes around the world. A giclee of one of her paintings was presented to Her Majesty, the Queen of England during a recital by the MacCulloch Dancers. She enjoyed many happy summers at Norway Bay as a child and continued with her own family there. Predeceased by her husband William and son Ronnie. Dear mother of Lynn (Red Shea), Connie (the late Richard "Dick" Patterson), Laurie and Alexis (Danny Nicol). Proud grandmother of Colleen, Scott, Brett, Luke, Paul, Calvin and Skye and great-grandmother of four. Friends are invited to visit the Central Chapel of Hulse Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St. on Friday from 6-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Canadian Martyrs Roman Catholic Church 100 Main St. on Saturday at 11 am. CROSSLEY, Isabella Gardiner (Johnston) May 29, 1927 - April 16, 2008 Isobel passed away peacefully in Victoria BC at a care facility on Wednesday April 16 after spending the day with her family. She was born in Falkirk, Scotland on May 29, 1927. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Christian, children Fiona, and David (Rhona) and two beloved grandchildren Callum and Caroline. As the wife of a military officer, she raised 2 children, moved countless times and continued teaching in locations throughout Canada and Europe. She made many friends and influenced many students that she taught throughout those years and had especially fond memories of her time at Glebe Collegiate in Ottawa where she was dubbed "Mum" by her students. As a prolific letter writer, she maintained contact with many of her students and colleagues for most of her life. A private celebration of her life will be held at 139 Passmore in Victoria, BC on May 10, 2008. Donations to the Alzheimer's Resource Centre would be appreciated. MEHNER, Wilhelm (Willy) Alfred May 24, 1913 - April 28, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of Willy Mehner announce his passing, one month shy of his 95th birthday. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 64 years, Ruth (Jungermann), son Udo (Carole) of New Brunswick, and daughters Elke (Peter Brown) of Chesterville and Gabrielle Becker of Ottawa. Loving Opa to Christopher (Michelle) and Beth Mehner, Mark (Andrea) and Paul (Diana) Brown, and Karl Becker. Great Opa of Alex and Jack Mehner, Nicolas and Norah Brown. Also survived by one sister Hilde, of Germany. Dad was born May 24, 1913 in what was Hungary (now Slovenia) to Pastor Alfred Mehner and his wife Franciska, and he and his 5 siblings grew up in various areas in Germany where his father served as Methodist minister. The family lived in Bielefeld, Westfalia for many years, where Dad met and married our mother. A master watchmaker and precision mechanical engineer by profession, an accomplished organist and choir director by vocation, and an avid birder, gardener and fisherman, Dad instilled in his children a love of good workmanship, music and nature. Not long after coming to Canada in 1951, he bought his piece of Canadian wilderness paradise on the Rouge River in Quebec, where the family spent idyllic summers. PILCHER, Hazel (nee Kimball) 2008-04-30 HAZEL PILCHER (nee: Kimball) Mrs. Hazel Pilcher passed away on April 27, 2008 at the age of 86 in St. Joseph’s Care Group. Hazel was born in St. John, New Brunswick on March 20, 1922, the eldest of 6 children. She moved to Fort William in 1927 and in 1955 was married to Verner Pilcher where she had 3 wonderful children. She was dedicated to helping others through her many employments such as "Rosie the Riveter" at Can Car, and then through nursing at the Sanatorium Hospital, LPH and Beacon Hill Lodge. She was active as a volunteer in the Canadian Daughters, Green Gables, CUPE and T.O.P.S. Hazel was awarded the Governor Generals Award for her dedication in the St. John Ambulance Ladies Auxiliary. Her many interests included traveling, knitting and shopping. Predeceased by her husband Verner Sr., son Verner Jr., parents Hazel and George Kimball and brother Vernon Kimball. Hazel is survived by daughter Hazel Pilcher of Guelph; son James Pilcher of Thunder Bay; sisters June Stone of Edmonton and Gail Temple (Arnold) of Thunder Bay; brothers Warren Kimball (Pat) of Sarnia and Norm (Debbie) of Toronto as well as many other relatives and friends. CASSIDY, HENRIETTA C. - The death of Mrs. Henrietta C. (McGowan) Cassidy, of Carleton Kirk Lodge occurred at her residence on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Mrs. Cassidy, formerly of Maces Bay, was the wife of the late Frederick J. Cassidy. Born in Maces Bay, she was the daughter of the late Cecilia (Brown) and John T. McGowan. Mrs. Cassidy worked at Sobey's Lancaster during the 60's and 70's. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and knitting. Mrs. Cassidy was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, the ACW and the Fundy Bay Seniors. She is survived by her son, Glendon Cassidy and his wife, Mary Lou of Oak Point; two grandchildren, Evan and Matthew; and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friend, Stuart Cowen. She was predeceased by a sister, Annie Mawhinney, and brother, Gordon McGowan. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). Visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4, 7 to 9 pm. BURTT, JAMES VERNON - The passing of James V. Burtt of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the age of 74. Born in Zealand Station NB, he was the son of the late Rhodes and Marilda (Crouse) Burtt and husband of the late Viola (Munn) Burtt. James was Anglican by faith and was employed with the Department of Transport as an Engineering Technician. He very much loved the outdoors especially hunting. Survived by his sons Kelvin of Saint John, NB, Todd (Claudia) of Calgary, Alta; three grandchildren Charlie, Kyle, and Katie; brothers Robert of Sudbury, Ont, Wayne (Julie) of Burtts Corner,NB; sister Sylvia McKillop (Hugh) of Saint John; numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late John Francis and Mary Catherine (Simpson) Oliver. Frank was retired from the CPR as an Engineer, was a past-member of the RCL and enjoyed horseracing. DILLON, RONALD "RON" GEORGE - The passing of Ronald "Ron" G. Dillon of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the age of 79. Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late George and Ellen (Faulkes) Dillon. Ron was a good christian and was an Electronic Engineer with the Air Force, spending the last seven years before retirement as an Engineer with Viking Helicopter. In the Air Force, he performed in a Jazz Band playing both Bass Fiddle and Trombone. An avid bird watcher, he and Doris loved to travel all across the country visiting everywhere, but Hawaii. Spending summers here in New Brunswick, they quickly became known as snowbirds, for they spent winter traveling throughout the south. One of Ron's greatest joys was being involved and spending a great deal of time with his three grandchildren. Survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Doris; beloved daughters, Joy Asher (Kevin) of Harvey, Louise Piercy (Ted), Karen Munn (Geoff) all of Fredericton; two grandchildren, David Pepin (Jennifer) of Cold Lake, Alta, Todd Piercy of Edmonton, Alta; brother-in-laws, Leonard Mansfield of Saint John, Vincent Mansfield of Toronto,Ont; nieces and nephews. Hugh Daniel "Dan" McCaffery 1952 - 2008 After a lengthy illness Dan McCaffery of Moncton, and formerly of Riverview passed away at his residence surrounded by family on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the age of 55 years. He was born August 13, 1952, in Saint Catherines, ON. Dan had the good fortune to be raised by his father Daniel Hugh McCaffery "Sadie", his late aunt Mary "Mamie" and uncle Blair Dolan. He moved to Riverview with his wife Cathy in 1973. He will be remembered for his devotion to his son and daughter and his determination to live his life to its fullest. Left with fond memories are his father, Daniel Hugh McCaffery; Uncle Blair Dolan; children, Jeremy Patrick McCaffery (Sally) and Melanie Leigh Longley (Jay); former wife and life long friend, Cathy McCaffery; brother, Vincent (Paulette); sister, Peggy Asher (Bill); his grandchildren, McKenzie, Carleigh, Miah, Seth and Graycie; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Bradley, Tara-Lee, Trinity, Destiny, Kevin, Damien and Danielle. In Longueuil, on April 28, 2008, at the age of seventy-five, passed away Marcel Boucher, husband of Therese Roy. Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his daughter Claude and his son Roch, his grandchildren Nathalie, Julien and Victor, his two brothers Jean-Guy (Denise) and Gilles (Pirjo), his nephews, nieces, as well as many other relatives and friends. The family will receive condolences on Thursday, May 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Cooperative Funeraire Rive Sud at 635 Cure-Poirier Blvd., Longueuil.
