Bernier J.O. Forrest À Lévis, le 14 mars 2008, à l’aube de ses 81 ans, nous a quittés monsieur J. O. Forrest Bernier, retraité de la fonction publique fédérale. Il était l’époux de dame Gertrude Otis et le fils de feu monsieur J. Omer Bernier et de feu dame Isabella Forrest. Il habitait à Lévis et était originaire de Matane. Monsieur Forrest Bernier laisse dans le deuil, outre son épouse, ses filles: Isabelle (André Prévost) et France (François Renaud); ses petits-enfants: Laurence et Félix Bernier-Renaud, Xavier et William Bernier-Prévost; son frère: feu Jacques (Jeannine Beaulieu); sa soeur: feu Huguette; ses belles-soeurs et ses beaux-frères de la famille Otis: feu Fernand, feu Adrien, feu Yves, Rita (feu Fernand Harrisson), Gabrielle (Gilles Gagné), Raymonde (Bernard Harrisson), feu Guy, Jacques, Carmen (Marcel Chamberland) et feu Monique (feu Euclide Normand); ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces, cousins et cousines des familles Bernier, Forrest et Otis, et de nombreux ami(e)s. SCRIBNER, HAROLD ALLISON - The death of Harold Allison Scribner of Cambridge Narrows, NB, husband of the late Dorothy (Roberts) Scribner occurred March 17, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Cambridge Narrows, son of the late Wilfred and Jennie (Fowler) Scribner. He is survived by one son, James Scribner (Sherri), three daughters, Kathleen McCormick, Josephine Gaines (Bill), Sharon Kitchen (Van); one sister, Jennie Wishart; six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one infant sister, Jean, sister, Rita and step-son, Brian. There will be no visitation or funeral by request of the family. DOBSON, SUZANNE "SUE" BROOKS - Suzanne "Sue" Brooks Dobson, age 68 of Lower Sackville, passed away March 17th, 2008 at home. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was the daughter, of the late, Percevial and Margaret (Brooks) Gallie. Sue retired from the Halifax Regional School Board. She was with the Girl Guides and Trefoil Guild. She was a loving wife and mother and a good friend to all. She is survived by her loving husband, Sterling of over 40 years. She is also survived by her daughter, Suzanne Dobson of Lower Sackville; son, Michael and girlfriend, Kelly of Ottawa, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cousins, Paul and Reid Rideout. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. Graveside service will be held at a later date in Fern Hill Cemetery in Saint John, New Brunswick. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. March 20, 2008

ANTHONY, HENRY LLOYD - of Anthony Lane, Waterford N.B., passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home in Sussex on March 14, 2008 at the age of 85. Lloyd was born in Saint John on August 16, 1922. He was the son of the late Herbert Leslie and Olga (Magee) Anthony. Lloyd was the husband of the late Eleanor June (Henderson) Anthony who passed away in 1978, and Shirley Eileen (Allison) Anthony who passed away in 2005. Lloyd is survived by his two daughters, Lynne Anderson and her husband, Jon of Texas and Waterford, and Leslie Anthony and her husband, Brian Scoffield of Walker Settlement. Lloyd had two grandchildren, Nicole Barnett (husband Chris Gibbs) of Toronto, and Adam Barnett of Wolfville, NS; and one great grandson, Beckett Barnett. Lloyd is also survived by three sisters, Ruth Crocker of Portland, Maine, Eleanor Johnson of Saint John, and Kathleen McGirr of Vineland, Ontario. Lloyd was predeceased by his sister, Doris Moffatt of Redhead. Lloyd is also survived by step-daughter, Gail McBean and her husband, Gary of Fredericton; two step grandchildren, Tracy Fraser and Craig McBean; two step-great grandchildren, Garrison and Alexa Fraser. Lloyd was retired from CN/CP Telecommunications, where he was head of Installations in Ottawa. He was a former member of Albion Lodge #1, in Saint John, and the Royal Canadian Legion, Saint John branch #014. Lloyd loved downhill skiing at Poley Mountain, RVing, golfing and playing cards, especially 45's and crib. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, Sussex. A celebration of Lloyd's Life and a Torch Light Tribute will take place at Poley Mountain on Saturday March 22, 2008 from 7 to 9pm. A Memorial Service will be held a later date with the interment at Creightonville Cemetery. March 20, 2008

CAMERON, Muriel (nee Hartle) - Mrs. Muriel Cameron entered into rest on March 18th, 2008 in the arms of her loving daughters, in her 91st year. Beloved wife for 68 years of Stewart Thompson Cameron. Devoted mother of Gail McElroy (the late Bill), & Pamela and Patrick St. Pierrre. Dear Granny of Katherine (McElroy) Fontaine & Cherished Nana of Amber and Len Guttenberger. Muriel was pre-deceased by her infant son Colin and siblings, Evelyn McCutcheon, Helen “Lally“ Kennedy, Lloyd, Gervaise, Grenville and Wilbur Hartle. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Kay Cameron as well as her nieces Barbara LeBlanc, Bev Ferguson and nephew Richard Cameron and their families. She will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was a life long member of Glen Productions and was dedicated to sewing costumes for both of her daughters, granddaughter and many other dancers over the years. PORTER, LILLIES (PRICE) Mrs. Lillies (Price) of Doaktown, NB passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2008, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Oswestry North Wales, England in 1925, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose Price. Enlisting in the British Army during WW2, Lillies competed her basic training in North Hampton and was then sent to Rhye Wales, in August 1942, for training before being assigned to the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service with the rank of Private, operating searchlights on the coast of England. Later in 1943, she was stationed in Camp Aldershot England, where she operated a telephone switchboard for the Transport Division of the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service. It was while serving in the British Army during World War II, that Lillies met her first husband, Cpt. Alonzo (Lonnie) William Storey. She arrived in Canada as a war bride in November 1946. After Lonnie's death in 1975, Lillies married her second husband Gerald Porter, who predeceased her in 1986. Lillies was a member of Hillcrest Chapter #40 Order of the Eastern Star, Upper Miramichi Lions Club, as well as a dedicated member served as Secretary for 27 years as well as Past President and life time member of the Ladies Auxiliary, a devoted member of this auxiliary Dart Team, and an avid Bingo Player. She was also a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Doaktown. A loving mother and grandmother, Lillies is survived by one son, Barry (Daphne) Storey; and daughters, Norma (Wendell) McCullough and Cathy (Gary) Betts; stepchildren, Jimmy (Valerie) Porter, Myles (Angela) Porter, Archie (Glenna) Porter, Anna (Robert) Morehouse; grandchildren, Shawn, Garry Jason, Shelly, Krista, Kim, Jason, Barry, Jeff, Richard, Chantelle, Jennifer, Meghan, Carla, and Amanda; seven great-grandchildren; six sisters living abroad; several step-grandchildren; as well as her great friend, Lorraine Storey; and the joy of her life, her beloved dog, Ginger. Besides husbands, Alonzo Storey and Gerald Porter, Lillies was predeceased by daughters, Rosemarie Amos and Deborah (Peter) Cosgrove; grandson, Laurie Betts; step-son, David Porter; step-granddaughter, Heather Porter; and wonderful friend, Orran (Jr.) Holmes. Vistitation will be held at Davidson's Funeral Home, 579 Main Street, Doaktown, Thursday from 6 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, 714 Main Street, Doaktown on Saturday, March 22, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Andrew Fraser officiating. Reception will follow at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Doaktown. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Andrew's Anglican Church Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. MAKI, Orrin Wayne 2008-03-20 Mr. Orrin Wayne Maki, age 62 years, a longtime resident of Rockwood Avenue, passed away suddenly in the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Orrin was born in Port Arthur on September 22, 1945 and was educated locally. In his earlier years he worked in the electrical field at the Port Arthur Shipyards before moving on to employment with various other companies. He was a member of the Branch #5 Legion and a lifetime member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Orrin enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at the family camp at Grandview Beach, and driving stock cars. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his mother Clara, sister Diane (Gary) Visseau as well as by numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his father William Albert Maki in 1980. DeLORENZI 2008-03-20 Mr. Dino DeLorenzi, age 71 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, with family by his side. A lifetime resident of the city, Dino attended St. Peter‘s School and as a young man started work at the Purity Bakery. He bought his own truck and was self employed for several years. He then started work at Gino Antoniazzi Fuels working there for 36 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed meeting friends for coffee, early in the morning and evening and for many years, could always be seen riding his bicycle around the city. A favorite pastime was watching black and white movies. His three grandchildren were the apple of his eye and he loved time spent with them. He is survived by his son Gary (Gloria), grandchildren Peter, Steven and Regan, niece Beth (Hank) Wilke and their children Scott and Mitch, loving partner for the past twelve years, Joyce Belair and her family, sister Marilyn (Robert) McLoughlin and their children Paul, Kelli and Erin (John) and their children Brynne, Cole and Jack, nieces, Jessica (David) Bullifent and their children Victoria and Andrew, Cynthia (Kevin) Looney and their children Ryan, Maegan and Connor, aunt and uncle Leno Marcon and Lucy Bortolussi and their families, brother-in-law Bill Radawez (Nancy) and other relatives also survive. He was predeceased by his parents John and Gina, sister Carol Radawez and uncles John and Mario Marcon. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G.. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be offered on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and travelling on mission trips. Howard Rex Vidito Howard Rex Vidito, 86, of Kingston, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Bloomington, Annapolis County, he was a son of the late John Nelson and Annie Laura (Judge) Vidito. Howard was a veteran of the Second World War where he served with the Princess Louise Fusiliers, B Company from 1941 to 1945. He retired from O. H. Armstrong Ltd., Kingston. Howard was a member of Branch 98 Royal Canadian Legion Kingston. He is survived by daughter, Nancy Anne (Remmy) Floris, Prince George, BC; son, Wayne Philip Vidito (Germaine LeBlanc), Shediac River, NB; sisters, Ruby Bennett, Auburn, Barbara Ridgeway, Greenwood; grandchildren, Amanda and Rion; and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marguerite Haché; sisters, Jean Wilson, Dorothy Pierce, Mildred Hiltz, Violet Dempsey; and brother, Frederick. DI GANGI, Mariano, BA, BD, M.Th, DD Peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in his 85th year, after suffering from Multiple System Atrophy Disorder, which he bore with patience and grace. Mariano has been called home to see face to face his Lord and Saviour whom he served faithfully in life long ministry. Pastor, preacher, professor. An ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church in Canada for 62 years, he served congregations in Montreal, Hamilton, Philadelphia and Toronto. He was Executive Director of Interserve for 20 years, and taught Pastoral Studies at Tyndale Seminary, retiring as Professor Emeritus. Many activities and organizations were blessed by his God-given talents but especially dear to his heart were global missions, Puritan preachers, and evangelism in Italy. Mariano wrote many books on these and other subjects of interest. Son of the late Joseph Di Gangi and Rose Piacenti of Brooklyn and predeceased by his younger brother John. Mariano is survived by his much-loved and devoted wife "Jo" (Ninette Maquignaz) and their three children: John (Vicki), Marian Archibald (Jack) and Peter (Sheila), all of Ottawa. As well, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren cherish his memory. The family wishes to thank the staff at Stillwater Retirement Residence, Dr. Rodney Tee, and caregivers for their tender and compassionate care. MAKI, Cody William Paul 2008-03-20 It is with great sadness that the family of Cody William Paul Maki announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at age 22 years. Cody was born and raised in Thunder Bay where he attended Fort William Collegiate Institute. He had a variety of talents and worked for various companies, including construction, roofing and the Husky Truck Stop. He had a great love for animals and a few of his greatest interests included his computer and boating on Lake Superior. Cody was a genuine person with a kind heart, always taking care of others. Cody strongly believed in fairness, one of his greatest contributions was his ability to problem solve for others. His true heart always shone through. LEONG, Yee Ping September 4, 1925 - March 17, 2008 Yee Ping Leong passed away peacefully on March 17, 2008 at the Foothills Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by her surviving and loving husband of sixty-two years, Gee Nang; three daughters, Linda (Wai-Man), Shirley (Edward), and Ellen (Darren); her cherished grandchildren, Lisa (Kevin), Jenny, Emily and Brianna; three brothers and four sisters, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ling, three brothers, and one sister. Yee Ping was born on September 4, 1925 in Guangtung, China and was raised in both China and Hong Kong as a young girl. She was married on September 6, 1946. In 1956, her husband immigrated to Canada and Yee Ping raised her two daughters in Hong Kong before joining her husband in Calgary in 1966. Once here, she worked at various restaurants until she retired in 1986. Yee Ping's passion, besides her children and grandchildren, was tending to her many, many flowers, the Chinese Opera and traveling. For all those who knew her, Yee Ping will be missed for her love of conversation, generosity and infectious smile. The family would like to thank Dr. Gwynn Bebb and Dr. Allison Murray, the Division of Respiratory Medicine at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Jacquie Burke and Rowena Turner of the Home Care Response Team, and the outstanding staff of Unit 46 at the Foothills Hospital for the loving care they provided our loving mother. WARD, Irene Ellen (nee Stanley) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Irene Ward on March 16, 2008. Rene was born on December 8, 1919 in Rivers, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ron in March 2007. She and Ron, her best friend and soulmate, were married in Brandon in November 1953. After a short time spent in Brazil and Texas, they moved to Calgary where they have resided ever since. Golf was Rene's passion, having been a member of the Earl Grey Golf Club for many decades. For many years, she and Ron wintered at their home in Florida, where they enjoyed golfing at Longboat Key Country Club. They loved traveling and enjoyed trips throughout Europe, South America, Africa and the U.S. As a girl growing up on a farm outside Brandon, Manitoba, Rene developed a passion for riding and hunting. In later years, she cherished the annual pheasant hunting trips with many of her extended family. She is survived by sisters Isabelle (Bob) Ferguson of Brandon, Jean Ritch of Victoria, brothers Clarence and Ken (Elsie) Stanley of Brandon, sisters-in-law Dorothy Stanley and Helen Stanley of Brandon and Catherine Ward of Victoria, brother-in-law Joseph Ward of Ancaster, ON, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Alberta, Manitoba and British Columbia. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by her sister Luella and brothers Harold, Gordon, Percy and Albert. Deepest gratitude is extended to her caregivers, especially Kathy, Rhonda and Anita for their care, compassion and support. Joseph Goulet -- Au CLSC de l’Érable de Plessisville, le 14 mars 2008, est décédé à l’âge de 92 ans et 8 mois, M. JOSEPH GOULET, époux de feu Dézilda Guillemette, domicilié autrefois à St-Ferdinand. Il était le père de feu Edmond (Odette Gouin), Florian (Doris Lemay), Marie-Ange conjointe de Georges Maheux, feu André, Angèle (feu Normand Nadeau), Micheline (Gleason Lemieux), le grand-père de 15 petits-enfants et 28 arrière-petits-enfants, le frère d’Alice Goulet (feu Philibert Guillemette). Il laisse également sa belle-soeur et son beau-frère de la famille Guillemette. La famille recevra les condoléances dimanche de 14 h à 16 h 30 et de 19 h à 22 h et lundi à compter de midi à la Résidence funéraire J.A. Richard Ruel, 175, rue Principale, St-Ferdinand. Le service religieux sera célébré lundi à 14 h en l’église de St-Ferdinand. Inhumation au cimetière de Vianney. La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la Maison funéraire J.A. Richard Ruel, St-Ferdinand.
