DICKSON, Allan Keith March 10, 1919 - March 8, 2008 "Kinburn Sandman" Madawaska Lodge # 196 A.F. & A.M. Passed away peacefully in Fairview Manor, Almonte on Saturday, Mach 8, 2008, 2 days prior to his 89th birthday. Beloved husband of May (Mary McGaw). Dear father of Linda (Ron Binette) and Sheila (Norm Black) and loving and proud grandfather of Gregory, Sarah and Jeffrey Black. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Ruby Dickson and his infant brother Donald. Allan was a farmer, lifelong church and community worker, hockey coach, school board trustee and gravel pit operator. He was a loyal husband, father, grandfather, neighbour and friend. Allan was known to many as a member of the Renfrew County fiddlers and through his private museum collections. He loved his 41 years as a drummer, had great fun as a licensed auctioneer and took pride in welcoming visitors to his beloved home and farm. The family sincerely thanks the caring staff at Fairview Manor and all those who continued to visit and keep in touch with Dad. ROBERT, Denyse (nee Clermont) Passed away on Saturday March 2, 2008 at the age of 69 years. She was the wife of the late Raymond Robert, the daughter of the late Olivier Clermont and the late Gladys Chapman. Mother of Jeffrey (Debbie) and James also she her step children: Jeanne (Yvon), Edward (Arpa), Pierre, Jacqueline, Louise (Jean-Louis). She was the grandmother of 9 grandchildren: Daniel, Isabelle, Samantha, Victoria, Raymond, Adam, Amanda, Valerie and Amber and 4 great-grandchildren. She was born Margaret Jean Kelly, March 29, 1933, in Kensington, P.E.I. Jean was co-owner and past president of Hi-Lite Electric. She was very well known in the curling community at the local and provincial level serving as one of the first female presidents of the Beaver Curling Club, treasurer of the N.B. Curling Association. She was also a long serving volunteer for local, provincial, national and international curling events hosted in Moncton over the past 40 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Linda Callaghan and her husband Tom LeBlanc; their children: Jennifer and Karen of Brockville, Ont.; Ron Callaghan and his wife Betty Murray; their children: Peter, Scott and Tyler of Charlottetown; Patsy and her husband George Piercey; their children: Matthew, Ryan and Emma of Milton, P.E.I.; Norma and her husband Terry Walsh; their children: Meaghan, John-Matthew and Joseph of Sackville, N.S.; Heather and her husband Pat Hughes; their children: Katie, Kelly and Kristy of Ann Arbor, MI; Nancy Roberts and her husband Thomas Landry; their children: Alina, Olivier and Ana of Moncton; and her sister, Margaret MacKinnon of Charlottetown. WOIT, Louis J 2008-03-12 Woit, Louis J. passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2008 after battle with a progressive illness. Louis was born in Thunder Bay (Fort William), Ontario, on August 18, 1920. Louis (Louie) was married to Anna Basso, his wife of 60 years, who predeceased him in 2002. He was also predeceased by his son Louis in 2002 (Thunder Bay) and his daughter AnneLouise (Kelowna) in 2006. Surviving family members includes son Frank (Marie) of North Bay and daughter Linda (John McLeod) of Kelowna, grandchildren Lisa Johnston (Mike, North Bay, Ont.), Patti-lyn Stockill (Glenn, Powassan, Ont.), Amber, Miranda (Matt King), Shaunna and Brandon all of Kelowna. There are five great grandchildren, Chris, Scott, Amanda (North Bay, Ont.), Paige and Kaiden (Powassan, Ont.). He is also survived by his brothers Peter (Anne, Thunder Bay, Ont.) and Ben (Julie, Toronto, Ont.) and sister Annabel (Tom,Holman) of Fairfax Va. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Teresa (Thunder Bay), brother John (Vancouver), sisters Theresa Pentick (Louie,Thunder Bay), Mary Cole (USA), Julie Krause (Paul,USA), Edna Smith (Joe, Abbottsford, B.C.), Helen Stewart (Lawrence, Thunder Bay). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews across Canada and the USA as well as two special sister-in-laws, Marg Sgambelluri (Jerry) and Mary Pellizzari (Lino) both of Thunder Bay. Louis was active in his early years doing volunteer work for the Association for the Mentally Retarded (Thunder Bay) as well as various church activities (Holy Family Parish – Thunder Bay). He enjoyed his camp at Shebandowan and going fishing with the family. He did a lot of gardening and continued to brag about his golfing and curling until his health no longer permitted those activities. He will no longer sit in his favourite chair by the window watching the neighborhood activities unfold. He will be sadly missed by all the family and our prayers go with him to speed him to his final reward in Heaven. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am, Friday March 14, 2008 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1077 Fuller Ave. Internment will follow at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. ST. PIERRE, Timothy Jeffery 2008-03-12 Timmy St. Pierre was born March 22, 1960 and passed away March 10th, 2008. Surviving is his mother Winnifred Gordiash (Thunder Bay), brother Robert St. Pierre (B.C.), sister Laverne St. Pierre (Thunder Bay), nephew Robert (Thunder Bay), niece Darcia (Kitchener), with 3 great nieces and one great nephew, Kisha, Ciera, Cira, Cayden, all in Kitchener. His three roommates and friends, Peter, Mark and Eric had many great times with Tim and will miss him greatly. Tim was a wonderful, loving, caring man, a good worker, and he loved wrestling and going to the movies. HOLOMEGO, Stan 2008-03-12 Stan Holomego passed away in Welland, Ontario of heart problems on February 26, 2008 at the age of 68 years. Stan will be missed by his sister Elsa Holomego of St. Catharines, Ontario, brother Mike (Ida) of Kakabeka Falls, son Stan (Sherry), daughter Rene (Dave) Holomego-McCready, grandson Kyle all of St. Catharines, Ontario. Stan owned and operated the Pizza House on Cumberland Street and Buggies Pizzeria on May Street. Then in 1990 he moved back to St. Catharines to be close to his family.

He enjoyed reading, music, gardening, especially the farm, story telling, cooking, fishing and was passionate about travelling. Above all, he loved being with his family. Rocco was an active parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Thorold and a member of the Italian Catholic Association. Mamie was born in St. Thomas on March 11, 1914, the daughter of the late Felice and Mary (Sylvester) Peco. She was a life member of Holy Angels' Church and a 68 year member of the Catholic Women's League. SOLLICH, Helene - Our shining star was born to Anna and Jozef Kluz on 13 April 1924 in Poland. Up to the outbreak of World War II she occupied a secure and loving home with her older sister Maria and younger brother Walter. As a result of the Nazi-Soviet Pact she and her family were forcibly and suddenly uprooted from their home by the Soviets. They were one of many families transported in cattle cars to a remote area in Siberia. Under primitive conditions they managed to survive with the exception of the mother. When amnesty was extended by the Soviets the remaining family made their exodus from Siberia to the Middle East with the miraculous guidance of the father. This led to the eventual enlistment by all into the military, specifically with the Polish Second Corps under British Command. At war's end Helene found herself in Italy. She married Captain Jan Chalecki and moved to the U.K. There a son, Jan, was born. The families of Helene and Maria emigrated to Canada to join their father and brother and for the next 30 years Helene lived a farmer's life. A son, Edmund, was born. Hard times followed but her patience, good nature and ingenuity sustained her family throughout. Her actions and boundless energy will forever be held in awe by her sons. Jan Sr. died in 1974. She remarried in 1979 to Dr. William Sollich. After his death in 1984 she eventually moved to Toronto where she passed away on 1 March 2008. She adored her daughter-in-law, Janet, and her grandson Justin. She maintained the sanctity of family, the memory of her parents and her religion in a pure love for God; and, she made quite clear her love for Canada. In accordance with her wishes cremation has occurred and interment will be private. A mass will be held on April 25, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church to the memory of Helene, her mother, father, sister and brother. We are grateful for her presence in our lives. SPENCE, Olwen (Ollie) (nee Davies) - Dear Mum of Judi Spence also survived by nephew Don Hall and wife Naomy. Predeceased by her husband Charles Spence (1970), brothers Dan, Percy, Bill and sister Catherine. Olwen was born in Wales and came to Canada at 10 years and settled with her sister Catherine Hall in Sherbrooke, Que and later St. Catharines. She graduated in nursing from Sherbrooke Hospital in 1934 and worked in Montreal, Toronto and in the U. S. One of her career highlights was serving overseas as a Lieutenant Nursing Sister with the 14th Canadian General Hospital in WWII. Olwen and family were very involved for many years at Grace Anglican Church. She was very active well into her 80's. Ollie always had a love of walking, reading, crosswords and chocolate. Her city wide walks included regular visits to the library, Montebello's rose garden, Heidehoff for a swim and Russell Avenue Community Centre for line dancing. Thanks to the many caring staff at Niagara Arms, dear friends Terry Fare and Ruth Corr and in recent days the compassion of Dr. Sandra Hartman. Ollie will be fondly remembered as a warm sweet little lady with a twinkle in her eye and a wonderful sense of humour. . .may her independent and loving spirit soar. MCBEAN, EUGENE ARTHUR - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and husband Eugene Arthur McBean on Monday, March 10th, 2008 at the Veteran's Health Unit, Fredericton. Born in McAdam, NB on March 28th, 1925, he was the son of the late Pearl (Brownell) and Arthur McBean. He was a long time resident of McAdam. Eugene is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth (Le Tourneau); one son, Gregory "Greg" of Hampton; his daughters, Barb Simmonds, Rita Nason (Gary Jochelman) and Nancy Collett (Brian) all of Fredericton; his brother Harry (Eva) of Fredericton; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Eugene is also survived by a special aunt, Bina and her son Gordie of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. Eugene was predeceased by his brother Trueman. Eugene was a veteran of World War II serving in the Air Force. After leaving the Air Force he worked as a boilermaker for the CPR, followed by employment at the Irving Oil Refinery in Saint John. Until retirement, Eugene was plant manager of the Industrial Cab Co. in McAdam. Dad was in his element being a Grandfather and Great Grandfather, relishing the special moments and always a giggle. Eugene had many interests, softball, hockey, bowling, darts and snow mobiling. Eugene was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent many springs and summers tending his vegetable and flower gardens while feeding the black flies. Eugene spent many years as an active Legion member (Branch #7), including terms as president. In his retirement, he enjoyed greatly the socializing with his buddies at the Owl's Club. Family will receive friends at St. Paul's United Church in McAdam on Thursday, March 13th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14th at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's United Church with Rev. Ellen Beairsto officiating. Interment will take place in Rockland Cemetery at a later date. STADELMAN, Sara Lee (nee Harris) Actor, innovative choreographer, ACTRA Award-winning broadcaster, playwright, poet and writer of fiction and memoir, has died at age ninety. She died March 9, 2008 at home, in the presence of Paul Mackan, her partner of forty-seven years. Brooklyn-born, a Canadian since 1974, Sara Lee studied theatre at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. She was a pupil of Sanford Meisner and of Martha Graham. She performed legitimate theatre with the USO in Europe and North Africa during World War II, and made her Broadway debut in 1942 with Gregory Peck and Karl Malden. Sara worked with and became friend to many of the leading names of her era, including the master playwright, Thornton Wilder. She met and married Richard Stadelman, the Las Vegas architect who designed Bugsy Seigal's Flamingo Hotel, and founded the Birdcage, Nevada's first professional Equity theatre. With Richard, she lived and worked with Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesen East and West. She then turned her art away from commercial theatre, to focus on spiritual themes, using the Bible and the lives of saints as source material for celebration on stage. She needed an epic form to carry this epic content, so created Choreologia TM ("The Word Moves"), an original theatre form in which actors and dancers melded speech with choreographed movement, performing both at once. She trained thousands of students and performed in religious venues in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and Italy. She founded and directed The Moving Word Centre, a Christian ministry of communication arts in 1968. Here in Ottawa Sara Lee was a contributor to "All In A Day", "CBO Morning", "Open House", and "Commentary". In 2000, she published her award-winning memoir, Walk-Ons & Bit-Parts (Penumbra Press). Sara Lee is survived by her son Kris Ryerson Stadelman, daughter Catherine Stadelman Ponsonby, grandchildren Steven and Lorraine Ponsonby, great-grandson Tristan Ponsonby and partner Paul Mackan. In keeping with Sara Lee's wishes no funeral is planned. A gathering of friends will be held early May, 2008. Il laisse dans le deuil de nombreux frères et soeurs feu Jeanne Kelly, Gisèle Kelly, Georges Kelly (Gisèle Desjardins), Thomas Kelly (Louise Catelli), Guy Kelly, feu Raymond Kelly (Nicole Monette), feu Charles Kelly (Lorraine Ling), Madeleine Kelly (Fernand Bissonnette), May Kelly (André Tétrault), Hélène Kelly (Daniel Dépelteau), Margot Kelly (Roger Ashby). Il laisse par-dessus tout dans le deuil de nombreux neveux et nièces qui l'adulèrent et à qui il enseigna la joie de vivre et la générosité. Malgré une fin de vieil homme seul, Jim s'en va immensément riche d'une vie par trop bien remplie. Le ski alpin, les sports nautiques, la rénovation de maisons ancestrales, l'amour de la maçonnerie et son caractère résolument festif en ont fait un être que nous fûmes privilégiés de côtoyer. Au coeur d'une terre ancestrale, auprès d'ancêtres et de sa fratrie, puisse-t-il maintenant atteindre la sérénité et la paix. Une cérémonie de la Parole sera célébrée au printemps.
