ORR, Dorothy June, R.N. June 28, 1927 to March 6, 2008 The family is saddened to announce the passing of June Orr on March 6, 2008. She passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa surrounded by her family. June was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert (Bob) James Orr on August 28, 1989. June leaves behind her son David (Lori) of Stony Creek, Ontario, and "her twins" - Pamela of Calgary, Alberta and Paul of Ottawa, Ontario. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Lindsay and Katlyn. June was born in Orangeville, Ontario on June 28, 1927, the cherished only child of Wilfred and Nettie Irwin. June graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Toronto General Hospital in 1949 and subsequently married Bob (B.Sc., M.Sc, 1949 - University of Toronto) on June 29, 1950. June and Bob then moved to Sarnia, Ontario where June worked at the Sarnia General Hospital prior to starting her family. Bob started his career as a research chemist with Polymar. They were active members of Central United Church where Bob used to entertain fellow members of the congregation with his stories and jokes at the coffee gatherings held after the service. They then moved to Ottawa in 1971 where June worked as an RN at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and from where she retired in 1986. Bob finished his career in Ottawa with the Department of National Defense. They continued to enjoy the camaraderie of Britannia United Church in Ottawa where June remained an active member after Bob's passing. The family especially wishes to thank Edith Murungi for the kind care, compassion and companionship that she provided to our mother in her last years. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home 2313 Carling Avenue (West of Carlingwood) Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service Monday in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery. EDWARDS, Mary-Anne. After a courageous battle with cancer, peacefully surrounded by her family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on March 5, 2008 in her fifty-third year. Beloved wife of Michael. Dear mother of Meghan Mitchell (Giovanni), and Andre Mitchell (Michelle). Survived by brothers Peter Gravel (Caron), and Andre Gravel (Connie). Proud Grandmother of Alyssa-Marie Mitchell-Lopez. Sadly missed by her nieces Jennifer, Jo Ann, Justine and nephew Daniel. Also missed by the family dog Rusty. Friends will be received at the W.C. YOUNG, Anne Elizabeth 2008-03-07 Mrs. Anne Elizabeth Young, age 97 passed away peacefully in St. Joe‘s Hospital on Tuesday March 4th, 2008. Anne will be remembered as the sweetest, most thoughtful and caring lady throughout her life. After almost 98 years of loving, giving and caring, Anne finally tired and left us to join her family that has gone on ahead of her. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Bill Young, sister Helen Stevens, brothers Jack & Billy Rees. Anne always remembered everyone in her path of life and they never forgot her. To friends she was often thought of her as their Grandma, she was perfect in every way. Anne was born in Port Arthur, Ontario on April 1st, 1910 to Nellie Munro-Rees and Samuel Rees. Anne was employed as a nurse‘s aide at Port Arthur General Hospital until retirement. Along with her life-long husband Bill they took on the adventure of managing Grandview Apartments, until retiring once again. Anne and Bill loved to travel and visit friends and family. Everyone has enjoyed Anne‘s stories over the years. Anne loved us all equally and will be loving remembered by daughter Elinore Harper, son Jack Young (Carol): Grandsons Glenn (Annette), Dean (Sandra) and Doug (Lynn): Grandchildren Sandra (Ken) Allison (Rick) and John Young. She was Great-Grandmother to Serena, Crystal, Christopher, Kimberly, Curtis ( Melissa), Kendra, Meghan & Lindy: Great-Great-Grandmother to Brooklyn Rose. She will be especially remembered as Auntie Anne to many nieces & nephews: Rees & Young Families, Gordon Family, Toderash Family, Rodney Stevens and family, Marvin Stevens Family, McLeod family, Ricky her dance partner, Shelley and Jennifer, Viola Bagnall Family, Cathy and Seppo family and many more. We would like to thank: Jan Wells for her loving care and help for the last few years, CCAC, VON, Wesway and the nursing staff at St. Joesph‘s Hospital 2N. Thank you to Rev. TODERASH, Mike 2008-03-07 Mr. Mike Toderash, aged 78 years, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2008. He was born on December 21, 1929 in Fort William, Ontario. He married Elsie Tarnawa on July 20, 1957. Mike worked for the C.P.R. as a switchman until his retirement in 1988. He was a devoted family man and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mike was an avid golfer and was a founding member of the Keefer Country Club. He also enjoyed playing guitar, baking bread, and woodworking. Mike is survived by his daughters Lola Bregg and Lorraine Rinas (Jody) and grandchildren Stephanie Bregg and Anthony and Rebekah Rinas. He is also survived by his brother Arthur (Ann) Toderash and sister Sally McMahon, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie, his parents Harry and Domnica and brothers Nick, George, John, William and Peter. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 560 N. May Street, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008. Pastor Neil Otke will officiate. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations to Trinity Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

KAMULA, Sherry Lynn 2008-03-07 November 10, 1958 – March 6, 2008 With her family by her side Mrs. Sherry Lynn Kamula, loving wife and mother, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the age of 49. Sherry was born in Hamiota, MB and was raised on the family farm in Oak River, MB. She attended school in Oak River and Rivers. Sherry enjoyed playing baseball, volleyball and curling. Sherry‘s adult life saw her move first to Winnipeg and then in 1976 to Saskatoon. It was here that she first picked up a paddle and started her passionate love affair with the canoe and the northern wilderness. As well, she took up cross country skiing, another sport that she enjoyed throughout the rest of her life. She liked nothing better than to glide along a trail on a winter day. In 1978 she moved to Thunder Bay and fell under the spell of the Sleeping Giant; a land in which she could indulge her love of the outdoors. Sherry and the love of her life, Don, married in 1981 and that year expanded the family with the birth of her first daughter, Jamie. In 1982 the family moved to Sioux Lookout. It was in Sioux Lookout that Roxanne (1984) and Michelle (1986) were born. In the twelve years she spent in Sioux Lookout, Sherry made many friends. She enjoyed many winters of curling and skiing. In the summer, camping and fishing with her family on beautiful Minnitaki Lake was what she loved best. Watching her three daughters swimming and laughing on a sunny summer day filled her heart with joy. In 1994 the family moved to Murillo. Sherry then found a new way to explore the land that she loved when she took up kayaking. She took every opportunity to explore Superior‘s coastline or on some inland waterway searching out places she had yet to see. Sherry was predeceased by her father Howard and brother Murray. She is survived and missed terribly by her husband Don, daughter Jamie (Dan), Roxanne (Sean) and Michelle. She is also survived by her mother Francis Kirkpatrick, sisters Judy (Doug), Lois (Gerry) and Dawn (David), also, many nieces and nephews. We all miss her and loved her very much. As per Sherry‘s wish she is to be cremated and her ashes scattered at a private family ceremony on her favorite northern lake. Those wishing to do so may make a donation in her memory to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or the Victorian Order of Nurses.

BLACKETT, Estelle May “Ethel” 2008-03-07 Mrs. Estelle May “Ethel” Blackett age 98 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, died in Grandview Lodge, on Thursday, March 6, 2008, with her family by her side. A longtime resident of the city, Ethel enjoyed may pastimes, such as Bingo, knitting, rides around the city, her dog Babe and watching the news. She loved her tea, ice cream, french fries and gravy and especially potato pancakes. Her family was always first and foremost in her life and she loved family gatherings at Cloud Bay, picnics at Chippewa and playing games. In her later years she enjoyed cheese sandwiches, hearing how the family was doing, having the newspaper read to her and of course more tea. She is survived by her sons Melvin, Fred and Tim, daughters Peggy Martin, Martha Guidone (Bob), Ella Miniely (Wes), Neta Balcom, Mary Lane (Jack), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, sister Mildred Gibson, sister-in-law Ruth Dubuc both of B.C. niece Jean (Orion) Bloomquist, Saskatchewan, as well numerous other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, son Marvin, daughter Marjorie Hennessy and granddaughter Barbara Thompson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Lloyd Ivany officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Estelle Blackett in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 28, 2009.

BERRINGER, Kenneth Albert - August 8, 1941 - February 24, 2008. It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather "Gramps", uncle and friend. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends when he was called home to God after a short battle with cancer. He was a son of the late Archibald and Margaret Berringer. He was predeceased by his brothers, Murray, Sydney and Gordon and an infant son, Andrew Allen. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Wendy (Allen); his loving and devoted children, Lloyd (Patty), Louise (Robert Manning), Lorne and Milton (Stephanie); his loving grandchildren, Brandon, Cody, Stephen, Kira and Onya; nephew, Kevin Stacey (Linda Trenholm); nieces, Krista Stacey and Belinda (Ross) Kennedy; sisters-in-law, Sandra Stacey and Linda Allen (Stuart Carver); sister, Helen and brother, Norman. He was employed with Metro Transit for the past 26 years. He was also instrumental in the development of Clayton Park in the 60s and 70s. He will be fondly missed and remembered by family and friends. He will be especially missed by Alan and Marhsa Pink around his backyard fireplace. He had a passion for family, friends, skydiving, fireworks, classical music and red wine. He was a very compassionate and passionate human being. His love and zest for life, family and friends was unsurpassed. Ken was cremated and there will be a celebration of his life for family and close friends from the place he loved the most, his backyard, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the VG Site, QEII 5th floor palliative care nurses, Dr. Eddy Kinley and Rev. Vince Ihasz.

EMENAU, Elizabeth Ford - 94, passed away at her home in Brooklyn on March 6, 2008. Elizabeth was born in White Point on July 5, 1913, to Mable and Angus Doggett. At age 17, Elizabeth went to Boston and trained at Booth Hospital as a maternity nurse. She then worked at private nursing in Boston and area for five years. In 1936, she returned to Nova Scotia and married Harold Emenau, and for 71 years was a loving wife and mother of two children, Dr. Paige (Colleen) Emenau, Saint John, N.B., and Gail (Fred) Goodwin, Hants Border. Elizabeth has seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Pearl, Josephine, Ruth, and brother, Harvey. Elizabeth was a member of Pilgrim United Church, Brooklyn, a member of the choir and UCW. She was also active in the community and a member of the Brooklyn Women's Institute and Home and School Association. Elizabeth lived an active life. She played badminton and broomball. She loved to walk, swim, water ski and canoe. She square danced for many years. She will be missed by her family and friends. Elizabeth's body was donated to Dalhousie University for medical research. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

GROUSE (Downey), Irene - 87, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully March 6, 2008, surrounded by her loving family in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in North Preston, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Rossette (Smith) Downey. Irene was a personal care worker and previously worked for over 30 years with Camp Hill Hospital, the Halifax Infirmary and Modern Building Cleaners. She is survived by daughters, Celia McQuaid, Halifax; Janet (Jamie) Wilson, Ottawa, Ont.; Valire Ann Whynder, Dartmouth; Shellen Grouse (Tupper), Halifax; stepdaughter, Roseetta Fraser, North Preston; sons, Emmanuel, Halifax; Leo, Halifax; Elvis, North Preston; special niece, Alvina Cain, North Preston; 41 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and 27 great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; extended brothers and sisters, and godchild, Ross MacLean Simmonds. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry; sons, Ronald, John, Samuel, Leonard; stepson, Benjamin Downey, and sister, Olive Simmonds. SAMPSON, Mary Beatrice - 87, R.K. MacDonald Nursing home, Antigonish, formerly of Arbor Drive, Antigonish, passed away on March 6, 2008, in the nursing home. Born in North Riverside, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Christopher and Jane (Fitzgerald) MacDonald. She moved to Antigonish in 1942 and was employed in the food service department of St. F.X. University. Upon her retirement, she was honoured by the university for 37 years of dedicated service. She is survived by stepdaughters, Dolly Bennett and Thelma Melski, both of Havre Boucher; stepsons, Sonny and Howard, Havre Boucher, and Jermore, Linwood. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert; sisters, Marion and Florence; brothers, William, Charles, Edward, Maurice, and Francis. Visitation in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish, today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held in St. Ninian's Cathedral on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Tom MacNeil and Rev. SANFORD, Robert Graham - 72, Sackville, formerly of New Cheverie Road, Hants Co., passed away suddenly on March 5, 2008, at home. Born in Kempt Shore, he was a son of the late Daniel Edson and Verlie (Weatherbee) Sanford. Robert worked at Fundy Gypsum for a number of years and then worked at the Halifax Shipyards, from where he retired after 25 years. He enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, and paying a lot of attention to his dog "Sookie", but most of all, he loved to tease people. Robert will be remembered as a father to all. He is survived by his wife, Anne (Landry); his children, Linda (Charles), Margaret, Lillian (Ray), Michael (Janice), and Jo-Anne (Albert); stepchildren, Robert (Darlene), Brian, Karen (Jeff) and Tammy (Leon); his 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Abbie Crossley; his former wife, Gladys Davison and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Roberta, in infancy; sisters, Mary and Margaret, and brothers, Roy and Joe. CROFT, Kenneth Avery - 71, Brooklyn, died March 5, 2008. Born in Milton, he was a son of the late Eva May (Muree) and James Arthur Croft. KENSIT, Helen Grace (nee Hastings) Formerly of 25 Wellington St., Brantford - Passed away at home in Smithers, BC on the 19th of February, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Grace leaves to mourn her passing her sons Les (Maureen) of Aurora, ON, Larry (Grethe) of Newmarket, ON, daughter Carol (Rex) Henry of Smithers, BC. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband Art in 2002 and her youngest son Leonard in 1973. Grace's love of life and adventures will truly be missed. Her keen sense of humour and fantastic music ability will leave a void for us all. Hearing her play the piano brought great joy to everyone. Although Grace was born in Ontario and lived there for more than 50 years, her love of BC was never-ending. Grace loved to tour the entire province and at one time or another lived in most of it. John Keith Dutcher John Keith Dutcher, 83, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida passed away on Monday, March 3, 2008 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Keith was born on May 19, 1924 in Loggieville, New Brunswick, Canada to George E. and Margaret M. Dutcher. While growing up in Canada he was a farmer and began his career as a carpenter at a young age. At age 17, Keith joined the Canadian Army and left to serve in World War II. After returning from the war, he began his carpentry business and later married Wanda L. Carter on July 9, 1948. In 1960 they moved to Jacksonville Beach, Florida. He was a former member and Deacon of Palms Presbyterian Church. Keith was also a Mason and Shriner. He was a contractor for 60 years. During that time he owned and operated Dutcher Builders. He was part of the Jacksonville Beach community for the past 48 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Wanda L. Dutcher, eight children, Isabel (Lee) Eldon, Byron (Janice) Marilyn (Vernon), Lois (Jim), Austin (Shirley), Garth (Leslie), his twenty grandchildren: and seven great-grandchildren: He is also survived by his sisters, Anna Hilburn, Norma (Charles) Dickison, sister-in-laws, Jean Dutcher and Shirley Dutcher all of New Brunswick, Canada. He is predeceased by his father George Dutcher, mother, Margaret MacDonald, sister, Elizabeth Dutcher, his brothers, Robert Dutcher and William Dutcher of New Brunswick, Canada. A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Monday, March 10th at 4:00pm at Beaches Chapel Church. He will be sorely missed and always in our hearts. GRANT, JEAN ELEANOR (BROWN) Jean Eleanor Grant (Brown) passed away at her home in Knowlton, Quebec March 2, 2008 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents Stephen and Minnie Brown. She is survived by her two sons Robert Grant (Knowlton) and Ronald Grant (Fredericton); grand children Patricia, Catherine, Anna, Stewart and Jolian all of Montreal, and eleven great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all. Born in Fredericton on April 10, 1916, Jean spent most of her career working at the Victoria Public Hospital and later the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. She was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her six brothers and sisters. Jean will be best remembered by her family as a person who gave her all to family members without any consideration of her own needs and wants. She was always there to give to others and do without herself. A very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Funeral arrangements were arranged by Desourdy Wilson Funeral Home in Cowansville, Quebec. Her ashes will be returned to Fredericton at a later date, to be buried at the family plot. March 07, 2008

CAMPBELL, NORMAN GEORGE Dear Friends, this is to tell you of the passing of Norman George Campbell, March 2nd, 2008. Born, November 17th, 1943 Halifax, N.S., who was most unconditionally loving to his family and loyal to friends. He graduated from Dalhousie University with a B. Commerce Degree and a Masters Degree in Economics, gave many years of loyal service to the NB government and more importantly, he made Paddington Bear for me and my sister and read stories to us every single night before bed. He was nice to everyone he met and never pre-judged anyone. He spent his childhood in Bridgewater and died suddenly in Bridgewater, while he was skiing, for him the closest to heaven on earth he could be. Services to remember and say good-bye to him will be held at a later time when we know all can come together. He will be missed and never forgotten, by his wife Janet (Grant); his daughters, Heather and Susan and granddaughter, Lauren.
