LA FAMILLE LAFRANCE a le regret de vous annoncer le décès de MADAME CÉCILE LAFRANCE (née Gaudreault) décédée le samedi 9 février 2008, à l'aube de ses 80 ans. Elle était l'épouse de feu Lucien Lafrance et la fille de feu Aurore Gauthier et de feu Émile Gaudreault. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses 3 enfants: Gilles (Lucie Bigras), Thérèse qui fut son aidante naturelle et sa grande amie et Lise (Mario Blais); ses 4 petits-enfants: Anick, Natasha, Fannie et Maxime; ses 5 arrière-petits-enfants: Paskal, Mikaël, Kristof, Anthoni et Rafaëlle; sa soeur Ariella (feu Jacques Maurice); sa belle-soeur Cécile (feu Lionel Moyneur); sa filleule Mado ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces et ami(e)s. Elle fut prédécédée par sa petite-fille Mélodie ainsi que par ses 2 frères: Paul et Rolland. Il n'y aura pas de visites à la maison funéraire. Une célébration de prières aura lieu le samedi 16 février à 14h à la salle cérémoniale de LA COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS sise au 95, boul. Cité-des-Jeunes à Gatineau (secteur Hull). BENSON, Allan John Suddenly in hospital with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the age of 51. Beloved husband and best friend for 30 years of Carol. Proud and loving father of Alicia and Melissa. Predeceased by his parents George and Muriel Benson. Survived by his sister Phyllis Storey and her husband Brian and their children Tammie and Wanda. Allan will be sorely missed by his in-laws Jay and Jack Hewitt and brothers-in-law Hal and David Potter along with their families. Allan will be sadly missed by many family and friends. GRAHAM, Mary (Nee Baird) Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Arnprior & District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday February 12, 2008 in her 96th year. Predeceased by her husband Cecil Graham, her sons Garry and Carl, her sisters Iva, Daisy, and Stella, and by her brother Ernest. Loving and devoted mother of Donna (Wayne Partridge), Gordon (Patricia), and Lynne (Donald Wilson). Cherished grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of eighteen. She will also be dearly missed by her sister Eileen Porteous and her daughter-in-law Greta (Emile Guay). Lovingly remembered by her children Karl (Janet), Judi (Paul) Gary (Betsy) and David (Jude), grandchildren Erik and Sagan, nieces, nephews, students, colleagues and friends, predeceased by her beloveds, Nate (Goldberg) and Freddy (Marcuse) and her brother Gedalyah Wiseman. DAUPHINEE, Russell Lawrence DAUPHINEE, Russell Lawrence - Great Hill, Queens Co., passed away at age 91, in Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, on February 14, 2008. Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late Sylvanas and Florence (Boutillier) Dauphinee. Russell worked at Bowater Mersey for 45 years. He was an avid skater and bowler and liked to hunt and fish. He was also a member of Liverpool Baptist Church. Russell was much loved by his family and always eager to help them in any way he could. She especially enjoyed Christmas decorating and friends. WILSON, Lloyd George WILSON, Lloyd George - 90, Bedford, passed away February 14, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Daniel and Dorothy (Veno) Wilson. During the Second World War, he was a member of 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion. Following the war, he joined Canada Customs and served as custom officer in various locations throughout Nova Scotia. CURREN (Cass), Marion Evelyn CURREN (Cass), Marion Evelyn - 78, following a brief illness passed away peacefully surrounded by family members in the Halifax Infirmary, QEll, on February, 14, 2008. She was born in Fredericton, N.B., and was a daughter of the late Thomas and Gertrude (Wheeler) Cass. She was a long-time resident of the Birch Cove area of Halifax, and a long-standing member of St. Peter's Anglican Church, where she volunteered in many of the church's activities. She was a dedicated homemaker and also worked for several years for Maritime Tel & Tel. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Reginald L. Curren, and her children, James, Virginia, U.S.A.; Dorothy (Gary) Clarke, Springhill; Gordon (Julia) and Douglas (Lenora), all of Halifax. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew, Andrew, Daniel, Shawn, Leslie, Amanda, Thomas, Benjamin, Bradford; Breanna; sister, Irene Mawhinney, Saint John, N.B. DAVIDSON, Donald Fulton "Don" DAVIDSON, Donald Fulton "Don" - 69, East Saint John, N.B., went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the eldest son of Edith Lillian (Welch), St. John - St. Stephen Nursing Home and the late Morris "Bill" Davidson. Prior to moving to Saint John from Halifax in 2001, Don owned and operated his own business, Double D. Boiler Repairs Ltd. and D. & J. Davidson Boiler Repairs Ltd. He was well-known for his hobby of baking and gifting family and friends with the results. Don was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. Besides his mother, Don is survived by his wife of 42 years, Edna (Webb), and his only son, Jonathan Harris, Alberta; sisters, Barbara Goddard, Nancy Kingston, both of Saint John; brothers, Alfred, Saint John; Jimmy, Victoria, B.C., and many nieces, nephews and friends. Don was predeceased by his father; brothers, Johnny, Bobby, George, and his sister, Gloria Saunders. HINCH, David Vernon HINCH, David Vernon - Eastern Passage, February 3, 1948 - February 14, 2008. It is with heavy hearts that on February 14 suddenly, but peacefully, with his family by his side, at the age of 60, Dave was taken from us far too soon. He was the beloved husband and best friend of 40 years to Gladys Hinch (LaBelle); father to Shona Firth (Hinch) and David Jr. "Hinchie"; father-in-law to Terry Firth; proud Papa to Bronson; brother to Donnie, Wayne, Sheila, Maxine, Gail, Diane, Josey, Judy, Joan, Margie, and Sharon; brother-in-law and uncle to many. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Edna "Mame" (Cleary); brother, Reginald, and sister, Ella. WEBB, Arthur Russell Sr. "Fid" WEBB, Arthur Russell Sr. "Fid" - 81, Beaver Bank, passed away February 14, 2008, in the Palliative Care Unit of the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Henry and Ada (Deal) Webb. He was employed by the city of Halifax for 34 years as an auto mechanic retiring in 1982. Fid was an avid animal lover and especially adored his cats. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie (Clothier); son, Donald (Debbie), Beaver Bank; granddaughters, Lisa (John) Burke, Kim Webb, Dawn Marie (James) Butt, Diana Webb, Dale Webb; great-grandchildren, Jordan Webb, Joshua Webb, Logan LaPierre, Nolan Butt, Jace Burke; sisters, Dorothy "John" Bookholt and Margaret "Bunny" Blackburn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his eldest son, Arthur Jr.; brother, Norman "Bud" Webb, Donald (Korea 1952), Doug; sisters, Norma "Bob" Gunn and Sheila "Jim" Matthews. Cremation has taken place. LEACH, Dr. Douglas - died peacefully at home with his family on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008 in his 56th year. Doug was born in Smiths Falls, Ontario. He moved from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Lexington in 1990 to work at the UK Gluck Equine Research Center. Predeceased by his parents, Howard and Evelyn Leach. He was the “Apple of their Eye.“ Survivors include his caring wife, Jane, sons Jed, Jesse and Evan of Lexington, his sisters, Jane Eccles and Joanne Leach of Canada, nieces and nephews Ryan, Bradley, Roberta, Ashley, Stan, Mackenzie, Samantha, Abby and Beth all of Canada. Beloved son-in-law of Elsie and Reg (deceased) Carmody and brother- in-law of Ron, Pauline, Jack, Liz, Mary, Joan, Eddie, and Pat. He was passionate about his boys, his research, the outdoors and his faithful dog, Sumo. He will be missed by many. His passing will leave a great void for those whose lives he has so deeply touched. HARRIS (CHARYSKI), SALOMON - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Salomon "Saul" (Charyski) Harris of Saint John, NB, husband of 58 years to Lillian (Zatzman) Harris which occurred on Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a lengthy illness with Alzheimers. Born in Szopianice, Poland, he was a son of the late Myer and Deena Charyski and seven siblings. After surviving three concentration camps, Skarsysko, Czestochewa and Buchenwald in Poland from 1942 to 1945, he moved to Saint John, where he owned and operated Harris Men's Wear on Union Street for over thirty years. Saul was an active member of Shaarei Zedek Synagogue. He enjoyed watching wrestling, playing cards and enjoyed taking walks around the uptown area of Saint John. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters; Deena Harris-Peiser (Tomas) of Rothesay, NB and Paula Power (Michael) of Saint John, two grandchildren; Brent Peiser and Jeremy Power, his sister-in-law, Sophie (Sandler) Richmond of Toronto, ON, as well as several nieces and nephews. Gerald (Gerry) J. McGrath Gerald (Gerry) J. McGrath 75, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital Palliative Care Unit, on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 after a brief illness. Born in St. John's, NL, he was the son of the late James and Annie (Cooper) McGrath. Gerry was retired from London Life with 30 years service, attended St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church and was a former church usher. He was president of the Thursday Bowlarama Seniors League (Dieppe) and formerly bowled in the Fairlanes Elmwood League. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, oil painting, trailering at Ocean Surf Park, Pointe du Chene for 36 years and spending time with his son-in-law Danny and grandson Jamie at Country Koi Fish Farm at Haute Aboujagane and in his younger years he was an avid soccer player. However, first and foremost was his love for his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy was born in Grenfell, SK, the oldest of three daughters of Constance and Victor Harrison. She pursued a career in accounting and worked in a variety of banks and real estate agencies. She was the ultimate "people" person. Nothing made her happier then having guests in her home and visiting with family and friends. Laszlo was born on December 5, 1948 in Kiskunfelegyhaza, Hungary. He was a great mechanic and loved to fly, enjoyed playing games and working on his computer, and had a talent for photography. Les had a big heart and was very passionate about helping people whenever he could. He was thoughtful and helpful, and lived for his family, whom he loved dearly.
