PAY, Marianne (Stanek) Marianne (Stanek) Pay left us on February 13th, 2008 at the tender age of 80. We, her children, Frank, Carmen and Waltraud are thankful for the kind and gentle soul that touched so many. She came to Canada from Austria, a city girl and helped open up this country in the '50's living in mining camps with her husband Frank Stanek, an Engineer (passed away at age 36). She met and married Reg Pay, who was the great love of her life. Reg's spirit left Marianne a few years ago and hopefully their stars will collide again. We thank the Staff on the 5th floor at Elisabeth Bruyere for their compassionate care. If you can, please donate to the Cancer Society. A private family service is being held today. KERR, Dorothy E. (nee Doddridge). It is with great sadness that we announce Dorothy passed way peacefully in her ninety-fourth year at the Lakeshore General Hospital on February 12, 2008, after a short illness. Beloved wife of the late Cecil Lorne Kerr "Sonny". Loving mother and mother-in-law of Dawn Leslie (John) and Jim (Linda). Cherished grandmother of Jill Leslie (Len), David (Kelly), Todd (Sue), Derek (Jules), Kelly Kerr (Vince), and Brian (Erin). She will be sadly missed by her great-grandchildren Riley, Haley, Jaxon, Dylan, and all her nieces and nephews. Anthony Faiella October 09, 1931 - February 09, 2008 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony (Tony) Faiella on Saturday, February 9, 2008, in his 77th year, after a strong and valiant battle. Cherished husband of Elda and precious father of Lucia (Robert Visca). Beloved brother and brother-in-law of Ralph and Helen Faiella. Adored son-in-law of Iolanda Bonaventura and dear brother-in-law of Joe and Anna Bonaventura; Marilena and Giovanni D'Aurora; and Paul and Josie Bonaventura. Predeceased by his parents Raffaele and Lucia Faiella, his father-in-law Antonio Bonaventura, his brother Luigi Faiella and his sisters and brothers-in-law Piacentina and Americo Silvestri, Secondina and Pasquale Spinosa, and Maria and Frank DeClerico. Uncle Tony was a special and devoted uncle to Teresa, Elisa, Camilla, Rosanna, Angela, Mario, Imelda, the late Angelo, MaryAnn, Ralph, John, Nadia, Lorraine, Ralph, Alen, Ashley, Michael, David, and Christina. He will be missed by many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, the U.S. and Italy. Born in Introdacqua, Italy, Tony immigrated to Canada in 1948. Tony was a member of the Hamilton Real Estate Board for over forty years, and was a tireless volunteer who selflessly gave of his time to the community. Fiercely proud of his Italian roots, Tony served as a president of the Order of Sons of Italy, president of the Abruzzese Federation of Hamilton and District, President of the Introdaqua Club, and Treasurer of the National Congress of Italian Canadians. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Dante Alighieri Society, Festitalia and the Hamilton Folk Arts Council. Tony had a great love for music and the arts. He was gifted with a strong bass voice. He was a member of the Canadian Opera Company, the Hamilton Opera Company, the St. Anthony of Padua Church Choir and the Mohawk College Singers. He was a founder and member of the Sons of Italy Ensemble Choir, and the Federazione Abruzzese Choir. The last six years have been a journey of sacrifice, hope and love and our heartfelt thanks and respect are extended to Doctors D. Russell, D. Ludwin, D. Treleaven, A. Gangji, D. Arlen, C. Clase, C. Barnes and team, the nurses and staff of St. Joseph's Renal Transplant Clinic, Renal Transplant Unit and Nephrology Department. As well, a special thank you to Dr. Elio Ricci for his friendship and care over the years. BAXTER, MURRAY FENWICK - Loving husband of Myrtle D. (Crawford) (Baxter) Baxter, passed away at Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, NB, on Wednesday, February 13th, 2008. Born at Baxter's Corner on November 13th, 1918, he was the son of Edward and Ella (Hosford) Baxter. A WWII Veteran, serving with the Provost Corp. Murray retired as Superintendent of Sanitation with the City of Saint John. He was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Loch Lomond, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #64 and the Knights of Pythias #1. In addition to his wife, Myrtle; he is survived by his three daughters, Sandra Hart (Bill) of Norton, NB and their children, Lynne Roy (Gerry), Krista Chamberlain (Bob), Jamie Hart (Jennifer), Nancy Coleman (Bill) of Hampton, NB and their children, Scott Coleman (Tammy Vincent), Brent Coleman (Tara), Sheryl Moore (Tim); Colleen Sproul (John) of Rothesay, NB and their children, Jill Daigle (Paul), Tim Sproul (Carrie Totten) and one son, Paul Baxter (Christine) of Baxter's Corner and their daughter, Chelsea; and 20 great grandchildren. Murray is also survived by three stepdaughters, Lorraine Roberts (Doug), Anna Donovan (Art), Louise Lackie (late Bruce); six stepsons, Karl Baxter (Diane), Bryan Baxter, (Betty), Ronnie Baxter (Terry), Donnie Baxter (Patsy), Randy Baxter (Wendy), Jamie Reynolds (Janice); and 23 step grandchildren; and 26 step great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Robert "Bobby" Robichaud 1983 - 2008 Robert "Bobby" Robichaud, 24, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, February 12th, 2008, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of Robert King and Alfreda Robichaud. Derek John Roundell 1972 - 2008 Derek Roundell, 35, of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Born in Moncton, July 17, 1972, he is the son of the late John M. and Dianne E. (Wood) Roundell. Derek was employed in Advertising Sales with Fenety Marketing Services. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed golfing, baseball and music, however his greatest love was his family and his girls. He will be sadly missed by his wife Michelle Pidgeon, their daughters Katelyn and Abigail at home; his sister Joanne Bland (Jason) and his brother Steven Roundell (Carol) all of Moncton; his father in law and mother in law Paul Pidgeon and Jeannie Saint of Riverview; aunts, uncles, cousins; his nephews and nieces, Devon, Taylor, Jorja, Maddie, Jason and Deanson; brother-in-law Lee Pidgeon of Saint John; sisters-in-law Lisa Eames (Kevin) of Victoria, BC; and Erin Pidgeon of Riverview. Visitation is at the Riverview Funeral Home, Pine Glen Rd. on Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview, NB. BISHOP, NEDDIE RUSSELL The death of Neddie Russell Bishop of Upper Salmon Creek, NB occurred Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 at the Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Salmon Creek, NB he was the son of the late G. Russell and Valerie Blanche (Higgins) Bishop. Retiring in 2005 after 42 years with Grand Lake Timber, Neddie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 74, Chipman, the Masonic Lodge and the Chipman Fish and Game Association. He was a very active volunteer with Chipman Community Care and was well known as everybody's "Mr. Fix it". Neddie is survived by his loving wife, Heather (Wasson) Bishop; a stepson, Shawn King of Janetville, ON; a brother, Kevin-John Bishop of Chipman; his sisters, Joey Niles (Herry) of Fredericton, Rubye Leger (Paul) of Rothesay and Laverne Legge of Quispamsis; a brother-in-law, John Wasson (Ursula) of Wyveale, ON; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Brown (George) of Ottawa, ON; 2 aunts, Verna Waddelow of Fredericton and Myra Colwell of Chipman; an uncle, Murray Higgins (Mona) of Chipman; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. BOOTH, Dr. David W. - After a courageous battle with cancer, David's family sadly wish to announce his passing, in Montreal on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 at age 53. He will be forever missed by his loving companion Nycol, stepson Marco and mother Lois Booth. David was devoted 'Papy' to Erika and Luka as well as dear brother of Linda Booth, Judy Marquis (Jim Graham), Tim (Louise), Tracey Yaromich (Brandon) and Dale (Sonya) together with many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his father Robert Booth and niece Noelle Pendykoski. The family wishes to thank David's dear friends, Gilles and Sean, for their care, compassion and devotion. David will be remembered for his sharp intellect, his philosophical mind and his laughter at a good joke. Graduating with honours from Westlane Secondary School, David went on to attend the University of Toronto, where he earned the following degrees: Ph. D. (Art History), M. Philosophy, M.A. (Art History), and B. Architecture. He accepted a position with the Canadian Centre for Architecture and was currently employed as a Professor of Architecture and Art History at the University of Montreal. Over the years, his research was published in several international architectural journals and art history texts. At David's request, cremation has taken place. KLASSEN, Ella - 1931-2008 - Ella died peacefully, at Tabor Manor in St. Catharines, on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers. She was 76. Beloved wife of the late Hardy Klassen who predeceased her October 21, 2003 and loving mother of Bruce who died November 28, 2007. MEALEY, Gordon Joseph - Passed away peacefully in his home with his loving family by his side, on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, after a brief fight with cancer. Forever loved and cherished husband of 60 wonderful years of Celinere (nee LaPointe). Loving dad of Linda (Clarence) Boudreau, Patsy (Tom) Ashby, Cynthia (Rick) Mason, Kevin (Annie) Mealey, Jocelyn (Derek) Knight, Don (Lynn) Mealey, and Darlene (Emil) Cesar. ILSKENS, Derek Bernhard - of Richmond Hill, Ontario, died February 9th, 2008. He was in a helicopter accident in the Andes Mountains, Chile, while doing geological surveying. He had many vocations, which took him to many different places, 131 cities, and 15 countries. The one thing that kept him grounded in Richmond Hill was his strong bond with the many people around him. His most recent job turned out to be one of the passions of his life. Being up in a helicopter, seeing the many beauties of the world, brought him great joy. In 32 years, Derek lived a very full life, although shortened. He was blessed with many friends, both old and new. How many people have 389 friends on Facebook? Recently, he spoke about the overwhelming love he had for his nieces and nephews. He is survived by a family that will always miss him dearly. He was the loving son of Bernie Ilskens, and wife Dorene. KLOTSCHKOW, George - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening February 12, 2008 at the Welland County General Hospital after a long struggle with illness. George and his wife Theodora have lived in Fonthill for over 52 years. George was the graphic artist for Ontario Hydro “Sir Adam Beck“ for most of his working life, one of his accomplishments being the designer of the Floral Clock in Niagara Falls. George loved gardening and walking the streets of Fonthill for hours at a time for most of his life here. He listened to friends on the way as he passed by but most of all he was full of stories from the past and the war. He was a huge spirit and will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Theodora, his only child Natalie Szabo, son-in-law Greg Best, and his 2 wonderful grandchildren Michael and Gregory Szabo. He also adored his brother's family in Russia. Resting at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road Fenwick where the family will receive friends on Friday, February 15th, 2008 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Prayers will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening. The Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, February 16th, 2008 from St. Ann's Catholic Church, Fenwick at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow. GRENIER, Claude , p.s.s. Paisiblement, à l'infirmerie du Sanctuaire du Sacré-Coeur (Chapelle de la Réparation) est décédé le 9 février 2008 à l'âge de 79 ans monsieur Claude Grenier, prêtre de Saint-Sulpice, fils du Dr Édouard-Pierre Grenier et de Claire Désilets, décédés. Né à Montréal le 29 novembre 1928, il fait ses études classiques au Collège André-Grasset. Au terme de ses études théologiques au Grand Séminaire de Montréal, il est ordonné prêtre pour le diocèse de Montréal le 11 juin 1954 et admis dans la Compagnie de Saint-Sulpice en 1956. Après avoir complété un baccalauréat en biologie à l'Université de Montréal en 1958, il enseigne cette discipline au Collège Grasset où il agit également comme responsable de la pastorale. Par la suite, on lui confie plusieurs tâches: directeur des Services aux étudiants, directeur du Centre étudiant, chapelain à Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, curé d'Oka, aumônier chez les Petites Filles de Saint-Joseph et chez les Soeurs Grises. En 2005, il prend sa retraite au Séminaire de Saint-Sulpice. Issu d'une famille de 23 enfants, il laisse dans le deuil, outre sa famille spirituelle des Sulpiciens, dix frères et soeurs vivants: Georges (Jacqueline), André (Michèle), Thérèse (Clifford), Monik (Roland), Louis (Rita), Claire (Joseph sr), Jacques, Stephen (Chantal), François (Louise) et Gérard (Murielle). Il laisse également plusieurs neveux et nièces ainsi que de nombreux parents et amis. Monsieur Grenier sera exposé au Grand Séminaire de Montréal, 2065 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, le vendredi 15 février de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 22 h. Mgr Lionel Gendron, p.s.s., présidera les funérailles dans la chapelle du Grand Séminaire le samedi 16 février 2008 à 10 h 30. L'inhumation se fera dans la crypte du Grand Séminaire. BERG, Micheline September 24, 1917 - February 12, 2008 Micheline Berg, of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday February 12, 2008 at the age of 90 years. Micheline was born on September 24, 1917 in Ottawa, ON and moved to Calgary in 1949. She was a Substitute Teacher with the Separate School board for many years and was a wonderful Homemaker. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Micheline is survived by her two sons, Wayne (Kim) and Kent (Pam); and five grandchildren, Suzanne, Heather, Sean, Erin, and Colin. She is also survived by her sister Mary (Harold) Ridgeway. Micheline was predeceased by her husband Christian in 2005, and by her brother Joseph and sister Ernestine. MAYNES, Jerry Albert December 14, 1935 - February 9, 2008 It is with great sadness that the Maynes family announces the passing of Jerry Albert Maynes at the age of 72 years. He will be missed by his wife of fifty-two years, Isabelle and his five children and spouses: Albert and Cindy, Glenn and Christine, Tom and Karen, Kelly Roberge, Kim Maynes; grandchildren: Ryan, Sarah, Amber, Nathan, Ashley, Rachelle, James, David, Chevy, Cheyenne, Zachary, Kayla, Leah; five great-grandchildren; and his sister Alberta and Jim Stickle and Dallas and Jerry Osmond. He was predeceased by his brother Wesley and his parents Jack and Myrtle Maynes. Jerry was born in Hanna, Alberta and grew up in the Renfrew area of Calgary. Jerry and Isabelle moved to Salmon Arm, B.C. in 1980 where they owned and operated the Salmon Arm Truck and Car Wash and to spend as much time as they could at their cabin on beautiful Mabel Lake.
