Oswald Bastarache (1927-2008) À l'Hôpital régional Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont de Moncton, le jeudi 31 janvier 2008, à l'âge de 80 ans, est décédé après une longue maladie, Oswald Bastarache, époux de feu Emma (née Gauvin) Bastarache (2005), domicilié au Foyer Saint-Antoine de Saint-Antoine-de-Kent, mais autrefois de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent. Né à Sainte-Marie-de-Kent le 21 mai 1927, il était fils de feu Adelin et de feu Edna (née Martin) Bastarache. Il laisse dans le deuil une fille, Linda Bastarache de Dieppe; quatre fils: Donald de Dalhousie, Roger (Lisette) de Moncton, Léo (Francine) de Shediac Bridge et Guy de Calgary; quatre petits-enfants: Maryse, Marie-Hélène, Mathieu et Renée-Anne; deux soeurs: Vina Légère (Gérard) de Cormier-Village et Lorraine Boucher de Gardner, Mass., ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Une soeur, Philomène, ainsi que trois frères: Clorice, Désiré et Yvon, l'ont précédé dans la tombe. M. Bastarache était charpentier et bûcheron. Les visites se feront à compter de 14h, le lundi 4 février, à la salle mortuaire de l'église Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent. Abbé Godin (1936-2008) RANG-SAINT-GEORGES - À son domicile, le jeudi 31 janvier 2008, à l'âge de 71 ans, est décédé Abbé Godin, conjoint de Lorraine Bond, domicilié à Rang-Saint-Georges. Il était fils de feu Aimé Godin et de feu Marianne Haché. Outre sa conjointe, il laisse dans le deuil trois fils: Sylvain (Nathalie) de Bertrand, Yves et Aimé, tous deux de Rang-Saint-Georges; quatre soeurs: Diana de Valleyfield, Thérèse Godin de Bertrand, Odile (Jim Mackay) de Toronto et Gisèle (Roger Doiron) de Saint-Léolin; quatre frères: Lucien de Toronto, Rhéal (Hélène) et Robert (Annette), tous deux de Paquetville et Paul de Grande-Anse, ainsi que deux petits-enfants: Sarah et Nathan. Un frère, Wilfred, ainsi qu'une soeur, Victoire, l'ont précédé dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle de M. Godin sera exposée à compter de 19h, le dimanche 3 février, au salon LeGresley de Paquetville. Les funérailles auront lieu en l'église Saint-Augustin de Paquetville, le lundi 4 février, à 16h. Paul M. Weston 1920 - 2008 Miramichi - Paul Martin Weston, husband of Elva Weston of the Collette Road, Collette, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday morning, February 1st, 2008, at the age of 87. Born in Upper Gagetown on December 31st, 1920, he was the son of the late Harry and Anna (Estherbrooks) Weston. He was a carpenter by trade and attended Notre Dame de Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Collette. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Canadian Army and was a member of Branch # 38, Royal Canadian Legion, Rogersville. He is survived by his wife, the former Elva Caissie; five daughters, Frances Babineau (Ernest), of Murray Settlement, Dorothy Weston of Guelph Ont., Diane Weston of Calgary, Alberta, Arlene Sangers of Whitneyville, Mass., USA, Lorraine Michels of Scarborough, Ont., one daughter-in-law, Jocelyn Weston of Fredericton; six sons, Harry Weston of Guelph, Ont., David Weston (Patricia) of Hubbarstay, Mass., USA, Elvan Weston (Rita), of Nepean, Ont., Kenneth Weston (Kathy) of South Carolina, USA, Lloyd Weston (Jenny) of New Hampshire, USA, Leonard Weston (Joni) of Riverview; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Thomas of Fredericton and Arlene Coy of Upper Gagetown; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. GULA, Faye - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Faye Gula, on January 16, 2008. Faye was the devoted wife of the late Willie Gula, her husband and true love of 62 years. She was an extraordinary mother and grandmother whose loss leaves an enormous void in the lives of her sons, Joel and Steven and their wives Esther and Gillian. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Lauren, Ben, Michelle, and Susan who lit up her life and gave her a never ending sense of joy. Omer was a long time member of Local 663 Plumbers and Pipefitters, Sarnia, a welder, fitter, and auto mechanic. He was also a dedicated member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and served with the R.C.A.F. during World War II.
