Gerald Clipsham, of Orillia, was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor Harriett Powell for 60 years. Loving father of Carol and husband Robin Craig of Midhurst, and Linda of Orillia. PIGEON, Ken - Peacefully, at home surrounded by love and family, on January 25, 2008. Ken Pigeon, in his 88th year. Devoted, much loved husband, for over 65 years, to Marguerite (nee; McDougald). Deeply cherished father to Craig (Miriam) Pigeon and Maureen Pigeon. Adored grandfather to Dustin Craig (Kristy), Dallas James and Zachary Kenneth. Great- grandpa to Tristin, Taryn and Camryn. Ken will be fondly remembered by his sister-in- law Betty Anderson, his large extended family and dear friends. Ken was a proud veteran of WWII, having served overseas with the R.C.A.F. He was an avid athlete all of his life. He played professional hockey in the OHL, and he took up racquet ball at the age of 60 and played until he was 85, having gone to the US Open four times. Ken was a retired former manager for Canada Pension, and a long-time member of Fairview United Church. Ken and Marguerite shared many joyful years camping with their children and later their grandchildren. Long-time employee of Langford's Jewellers, member/director of Ottawa Little Theatre and longstanding member of Kiwanis Club of Bytown. Predeceased by her husband Louis, her parents Charles and Viola, her stepson Peter, and grandson Shawn. She will be deeply missed by Kathy Ullrich and granddaughter Maren. Willard Talmadge Jones 1926 - 2008 Willard T. Jones, 82, of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, January 26, 2008. Born in Royal Oak, Michigan, on January 21, 1926, he was the son of the late Harold and Stella (Spinney) Jones. Willard retired from Canada Post after 35 years service. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees for a number of years. He was also a member of the Riverview Baptist "Goldenaires" Seniors Group. A veteran of WWII he served in the RCNVR and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Association. After the war ended, Willard attended the Moncton Vocational Training School for one year, serving his apprenticeship with A. F. Butcher & Sons in Sackville, NB. He received his Journeyman's Certificate in 1949 in Carpentry. After joining Canada Post, he continued on with his woodworking skills as a hobby, doing many home improvements for family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, devoted to spending time with his family. Left with fond memories is his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Crossman) Jones; two sons, Commander Robert "Bob" Jones and his wife Martha of Dartmouth, NS, Rev. Greg Jones and his wife Wendy of Quispamsis, NB; six grandchildren, Andrew, Mark (Anna), Victoria (Paul), Laura, Amy and Molly; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Glenn and Alex Jones. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home, Pine Glen Road with visitation on Monday, January 28, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. An avid knitter, she enjoyed knitting for her children and grandchildren, and watching the Leafs and Blue Jay games with Norm and Caesar. F. Burton Tingley 1947-2008 F. Burton Tingley , 60, of the Jordan Lifecare Center, formerly of Cape Station, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2008 at the Nursing Home. Burton was born on September 2, 1947 the son of the late Everett and Maisie (Reid) Tingley. He was a member of the Lower Cape Baptist Church. He worked as a butcher and resided in Calgary until 1987, moving home after his illness. When he was able, Burton enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and horseback riding and camping. He was also an avid sports fan, playing baseball, hockey and skiing. Most of all he loved being with his family. He will be remembered for his great sense of humour and for his practical jokes, he would tease anyone and everyone. After his struggles with his illness he was determined to be all he could be, not letting anything get in his way and overcame his disabilities with a great spirit. He was a true inspiration to his family and friends. He was always smiling and with his final good-bye "Burton is Finally A-1". He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Nancy Hopkins of Halifax and his precious grandsons, Jesse and Brett; his sisters, Pauline Lubsy (David) of Amherst, Kathy Underhill (Robert) of Riverview, Cheryl Nelson (Keith) of Hillsborough and Sandra Tingley of Sussex; brothers, Darrell Tingley of Elgin and Melvin Tingley (Muriel) of Hopewell Cape. He will also be sadly missed by his step-grandmother, Elizabeth "Betty" Williams (John) of Cape Station; and by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Winston. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home on Monday, January 28th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Lower Cape Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Lic. Leonard Geldart officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and for refreshments in the Church basement. Interment will be held in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lower Cape in the spring. He was born in Port Hood, NS, son of the late Lewis and Margaret MacDonald. He was a Blacksmith with the City of Saint John retiring in 1976. Alex was a well known Cape Breton fiddler. SMITH, Richard E. “Rick“ - Passed suddenly Friday, January 25th at the age of 56 sitting on his brand new snow machine in the bush in Northern Ontario. This was a fitting end for a man who was dedicated to his family, friends, the outdoors and his love of life. Raised on a farm in Azilda, Rick developed uncanny instincts about animals, nature and the land. An avid hunter, fisherman, sportsman and accomplished equestrian, he left behind a huge legacy. Rick and his wife Cathy Inch, own Foothills Farm, a full service equestrian facility in Northern Ontario. Although Rick remained planted in the valley, his desire to grow intellectually drove him to develop a variety of skills. A fully accredited course designer, Rick's knowledge of horses and innate sense of construction led him into a very successful career that enabled him to travel with Cathy and his daughter Natalie to showjumping venues across North America. Never one to sit still, other hobbies included skiing, hockey and canoeing. Whether Rick was travelling in the elite world of showjumping or out in the back 40, he was renowned for his quick wit and sense of timing. Rick's genuine interest in people and incredible loyalty to his friends and family endeared him to all. These special traits are reflected in his son and sidekick Jedd. The loss of Rick will leave a huge void in everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was larger than life. Beloved husband of Cathy Inch. Loving father of Natalie Rebecca Smith (Jeff Lawrence) and Jedd Robert William Smith. Cherished son of Beryl (Hill) Smith and the late Earl Smith predeceased 1985.
