OVERLAND, Florence Violet February 10, 1921 - November 28, 2007 Florence "Flo" Overland of Airdrie passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Flo was born in Trochu, AB and moved to Calgary to raise her family in the Tuxedo area. She and her husband Bob had a hobby farm in the Cremona area which they maintained for forty-five years. Flo helped to raise her grandchildren who were the joy of her life. Flo is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert of Red Deer, AB, Edward and Maureen of Magna Bay, BC and John and Barb of Airdrie, AB; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Bob and her brother Alec Fisher. SNELL, Carl Frederick Carl Frederick Snell, 88, born April 3, 1919 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2007 in Nanaimo Seniors Village. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of sixty-six years, Fay; four daughters Carolyn (Gordon), Barbara (John), Brenda (Steven) and Joan (Howard); eight grandchildren Michael, Laura, Kimberly, Sarah, Suzie, Daniel, Neil and Karen; and three great-grandchildren Grace, Jacob and Ava. Carl was predeceased by his mother Susanne, father David, and sisters Geneva, Lilian and Annie. FLEET, STEPHEN LORNE - Passed away tragically and unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Saint John Regional Hospital, at the age of 31, after a brief illness. Steve's family was the center of his life. He is survived by his parents, Harvey and Betty (Peacock) Fleet of Quispamsis; his wife, Trisha (Barrie) Fleet; his two wonderful boys, Jesse, nine and Austin, seven; his brother, Dan of Fredericton and sister-in-law, Yvonne Anisimowicz; his sister, Allison of Cairo, Egypt; his sister, Beth of Dieppe and brother-in-law, Jean-Louis Sirois, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. Steve was employed as a truck and reefer mechanic by Penske Truck Leasing, and was passionate about his work. He was an avid NASCAR fan, an interest he shared with his young family. Stephen was a kind, warm, and loving husband, father, and friend. He had a much-loved sense of humor, and a poetic, philosophical side seen by those close to him. He will be missed by many. FAIRWEATHER - Dr. Jack Lee, son of the late Mr. Justice Jack Fairweather and his wife, Agnes, died on the 28th of November, 2007, at his home in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, age 83. He is survived by his wife, April; three daughters, Sarah of Dutch Valley, N.B., Andrea (Gus) of Pierrefonds, QC, Lisa of Portland, Oregon; a son, Jack of Summit, N.J.; a brother, Gordon of Rothesay and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Tim. Dr. Fairweather was educated at Rothesay Collegiate School followed by service in the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and the North Shore New Brunswick Regiment in World War II. He and his partner, Major Jack Veness, late of Fredericton were captured on June 8/9, 1944 and later escaped from a German prisoner-of-war train. Their escapades with the Free French underground were recounted in a book, "The Two Jacks", by Will R. Bird. For his exploits Dr. Fairweather was mentioned in dispatches and awarded the Legion of Honour of France in a ceremony held in Lewisburg in June 2006. Dr. Fairweather became the youngest Major in the Canadian Forces late in 1944. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University. November 30, 2007

Il laisse également 5 frères: Félix (Aline), Jacques (Claire), Alexandre (feu Lucette), Jim (Sylvie), Arsène (Isabelle); 7 soeurs: Simone (Laurier), Thérèse (Jacques), Lucienne (Rhéal), Henriette (Pierre), France, Fernande (Gerry), Micheline (Gilles), ainsi que des oncles, tantes, cousins, cousines, neveux et nièces Il fut précédé par un fils, Richard et une soeur, Nicole (André). CRABTREE, Ronald (Retired, OC Transpo, Superintendant) Suddenly, in hospital on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of the late Doris Maxwell. TOZER, E. LESLIE - Bathurst - The death of E. Leslie Tozer, of O'Neil Ave., Bathurst, beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth (Hogbin) Tozer occurred peacefully on Monday, November 26, 2007 at their home. Born on July 6, 1920 in Newcastle, N.B. he is the son of the late Byron Alvah Tozer of Newcastle, NB and Janet Ann (Cook) Tozer of Black Lands, NB. Leslie was a well known local building contractor who was actively involved in the community and his church. He entered the RCAF in 1941 and served in England and South East Asia until 1945. He continued to be involved and was a member of the local branch of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary E Tozer; one daughter, Lesley E. Lord (Bernard) of Saint John, NB; one son, David W. Tozer (Valerie) of Bathurst, NB; and three grandchildren, Rebekah, Stuart and Kathleen Tozer. He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Fenwick (Hoyt) and Vivian Campbell (Robert). There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday (December 1, 2007) at 3:00 p.m. from the Bayview Baptist Church, O'Neil Dr., Bathurst. SAULIS, O'NEIL EARL - The passing of O'Neil Earl Saulis of Tobique First Nation occurred on November 26, 2007 at his residence at the age of 76. Born on Tobique he was the son of the late William and Annie Saulis. O'Neil is survived by his daughter, Denise Saulis Church of Ohio; grandchildren, Sierra Saulis and Brandon Church, Polchis Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. O'LEARY, DONALD GERARD "DON" - Donald O'Leary passed away peacefully on November 29, 2007, in the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, following a long, courageous battle with cancer. He faced his battle with strength and dignity. Don was born in Saint John, N.B., Feb. 13, 1936, son of the late James O'Leary and Elizabeth MacEachern. Don worked as a stevedore for 42 years and was a member of Local I.L.A.273. Don is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley (MacKay); son, Don (Oshawa ON); daughter, Cathy; son, Paul (Suzanne), and brother, John. Don, better known as "Papa" was a man of few words, but words were not necessary when it came to his family. Don has five grandchildren, Allyson Langille (Tyler), Heidi Barnes "Spanky", Ryan and Chris O'Leary (mother Beth O'Leary, Oshawa ON), and Brendan O'Leary. The proudest role of his life was being "Papa"; he was a kind and generous man who adored his grandchildren and they adored him. Don was an avid harness racing fan and enjoyed trips to New Hampshire with his family to watch the dog races. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Don will be sadly missed but always loved. He was predeceased by his brother, Jimmie O'Leary (his best buddy) and his sister, Shirley Walsh; he is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, where visiting will take place on Saturday and Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Somerset Street on Monday at 11:00 AM, with interment taking place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Éveline Goguen 1923 - 2007 SAINT-ANTOINE, NB - Éveline Goguen, age 84, of Résidence Urbain Breau, Saint-Antoine passed away after a lengthy illness at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Wednesday, November 28th, 2007. She was married to the late Ulysse Goguen (2006). Born in Notre-Dame on June 12th, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Tranquil and the late Sara (Née Melanson) Melanson. Éveline is survived by one daughter, Denise Cormier (Jean-Claude) of Notre-Dame; one son, Vincent (Lynn) of Saint-Joseph de Kent; one sister, Hélène Babineau (Gerard) of Moncton; four grandchildren, Nadine, Yvon, Chantal, Hillary; two great grandchildren, Yannick, Anabelle; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by one sister, Marie; three half-sisters, Elizabeth, Anna, Irène; four half-brothers, Louis, Joseph, Alban, Alyre. Visitation will be held at the Saint-Antoine l'Ermite Roman Catholic Church slumber room, Saint-Antoine on Friday, November 30th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Antoine l'Ermite Church on Friday November 30th at 7:00 pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. SCOTT, DORIS IRENE The passing of Doris Irene (Akerley) Scott, wife of the late Walter Scott, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on November 28, 2007 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on September 29, 1911 in Upper Southampton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Emma (Brown) Akerley. Doris was a teacher for 14 years and also worked for the Department of National Defense and National Health and Welfare with the Federal Government. She was affiliated with Marysville United Baptist Church. Doris is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Doris was predeceased by her two sisters, Verna Robinson and Florence Dore. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, November 30, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 2 pm with Rev. David Dubois officiating.
