Dale Harold McDonald, of Walkerton, passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Monday, November 26, 2007, in his 57th year. Beloved husband of Joyce (Cavill). Loving father of Michael and Tricia of Airdrie, Alberta and Kerri and Chris Wells of Walkerton. Cherished grandfather of Jordan and Avery Wells. Fondly remembered by his brothers Leroy (Vi) of Amherstburg, Jack (Carma) of Woodstock, Jim of Chesley; sisters Ella (Wally) Tibbo of Chesley, Madeline (Harry) Sedor of Surrey, B.C. and Sharon (Ted) Loughlean of Hanover; sisters-in-law Shirley McDonald of Fredericton, New Brunswick and Fern McDonald of B.C. Joseph Waechter, of Hanover, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 21, 2007. He was 68. Born in Brant Township, son of the late Andrew and Susan (nee Hehn) Waechter. Joseph was a member of the Old Timers Hockey League and a former member of the Bowling Mixed League. He was an avid Slow Pitch fan, both playing and watching. Survived by his wife Karen (nee Kerr) Waechter, son Andrew (Carrie) Waechter of St. Thomas, daughter Michelle (Gary) Landsborough of Cambridge, grandchildren Dylan, Michael, Braedon and Zackery. Also survived by his brothers Lorne (Mary Lou) Waechter of Hanover, Ralph (Diane) Waechter of London, sisters Wilma Reitzel of Waterloo and Marjorie (Willard) Lang of Chepstow. He will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter-in-law Pauline Waechter, his brother Alfred Waechter and brother-in-law Ab Reitzel. Visitation was held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, with Vigil Rites at 8:30 pm. A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 10:30 am, at Holy Family Church, Hanover. Father Mervin Perera officiated. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association were appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Joe was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother and a true friend to so many. All of Joe’s 68 years were spent working hard. By the age of eight, Joe was working, baling hay, delivering newspapers and working at the bowling alley, in order to help provide for his mother. This work ethic continued all of his life. Joe married his teenage sweetheart, Karen, in 1964 and spent the next 43 years with his loving wife. During those years he raised a family, ran his own business, saw his children (Andy and Michelle) get married, and welcomed a grandson (Dylan) into the family. Joe’s daughter-in-law Pauline passed away in 2001. Andy has since remarried and Joe welcomed three new grandsons (Michael, Braedon and Zackery) and a daughter-in-law (Carrie) into the family. Joe welcomed a new son-in-law into the family in 2000 (Gary) and they became close friends. Whenever Joe was needed by his family, he was there. Fixing up houses for his kids, always there to lend a hand, no matter what. His pleasures in life were simple and he enjoyed working around the house. He had recently retired and was finishing his basement now that he had the time. He thoroughly enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee at Tim Hortons. In his younger days, Joe was dedicated to playing baseball and hockey, as well as snowmobiling with his wife and children. Joe was a fervent believer in God and his Catholic faith. He enjoyed attending church in Walkerton when his wife wasn’t working. Like Jesus, Joe was a carpenter by trade and we are sure that he is building a house in heaven and waiting to welcome the rest of his family home. RHEAULT BEAULIEU HÉLÈNE RHEAULT BEAULIEU MME HÉLÈNE 1927 - 2007 À Montréal, au Centre d'hébergement Réal-Morel, Hélène Beaulieu-Rheault a mis fin à un dur et long combat de 17 ans contre la maladie dans la nuit du 27 novembre 2007. Elle était l'épouse de feu Pierre Rheault et la fille de feu Arthur Beaulieu et de feu Ida (Helda) Collins. Née à Grand-Mère le 08 août 1927, elle y a vécu une jeunesse heureuse jusqu'à son mariage. En 1950, avec son mari Pierre, elle vint à Montréal pour y établir sa famille. Elle s'est dévouée à l'éducation de ses enfants en leur inculquant le sens des valeurs humaines et chrétiennes. Au début de sa jeune quarantaine, elle a réintégré le marché du travail où elle oeuvra jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit victime d'un AVC foudroyant, à 62 ans, qui la laissa partiellement handicapée. En battante qu'elle était, elle composa avec son état du mieux qu'elle put, étant régulièrement victime d'ischémies de moindre importance jusqu'à ce dernier qui fut au-dessus de ses forces. Elle laissera dans nos coeurs une empreinte indélébile. Elle nous manque déjà et nous la regretterons toujours. Elle nous fut prêtée pour notre bonheur. C'est à son tour maintement, d'atteindre la félicité. Ses enfants, ses soeurs, son frère et toute sa famille. MCCLUSKEY, SHAWN - Surrounded by his family, Joseph Thomas Shawn McCluskey passed away on November 27th, 2007 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in 1942 in Edmunston, NB, he was the son of the late Thomas McCluskey and Kathleen (O'Keefe). He was predeceased by his parents and sister Carmel. Shawn thoroughly enjoyed teaching at the Miramichi Rural School in Baie Du Vin for the entire 20 years of his career. His students held a special place in his heart and he kept in touch with many throughout the years since retiring. Shawn will be sadly missed by his wife Judy (Marsh), son, Shawn Jr. (Karen), daughters Sheryl Ann (Chris) and Tara. He will also be dearly missed by his loving grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler, Mason, Megan and Olivia. ROBBINS, Betty Isabelle - With her family by her side, Betty Robbins passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Teck Pioneer Residence at the age of 88 years. She was born in Nova Scotia in 1919. She was both married and widowed at a young age. Betty raised Charles, Donald, Elizabeth and Aaron. She was a talented knitter, rug hooker, loved garage sales and was an avid walker. Betty was predeceased by her husband Horace; daughter Elizabeth; brother Dan Huey MacKinnon (Nan) and brother in law John MacCalder. She leaves behind Charles Robbins (Shirley) of North Bay, Donald Robbins of Kirkland Lake, Aaron Robbins (Cathy) of Kirkland Lake and David Robbins (Lynn) of North Bay. Betty also leaves behind her three special girls Samantha and Alexandra Robbins of Kirkland Lake and Megan Robbins of North Bay. She is also survived by her sister Christina MacCalder; brothers Charles MacKinnon (Jessie) and Frederick MacKinnon (Mary) all of Nova Scotia as well as several nieces and nephews. KELLY, Jewel Theresa (nee Ellement) Passed away after a sudden illness in Toronto on November 27, 2007, at age 77, surrounded by family and her special friend Bev Smart Fitch. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Debbie, sons David and Daniel and daughter-in-law Susan. She was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Colleen. Proud and loving grandmother to Stephen Freitag, Angela Kelly, Christina White, Jennifer White, and Kendra Kelly. Youngest sister of Nadine and Jacqueline, who both predeceased her. She was born in Hornepayne, Ontario to John and Mary (nee Freeman) Ellement, and subsequent to her own mother's death at age 3, she and her sisters were cared for by Aunt Melda Swan in Ottawa. She attended Maxwell P.S. and Nepean H.S. Her caring nature led her to aspire to be a physiotherapist, however circumstances did not allow for that dream to be pursued at that time. She returned to a railway town in Northern Ontario as a bride of Howard, where her four children were born. The children spent their early years in Capreol, where she was a tireless volunteer in her adopted church and community. At age 37, she returned to Ottawa, to be closer to her sisters, with her 4 children, and embarked on a new career as a single mother, learned a new profession and resumed her work in the community. She had a long career with Royal Insurance, where in the latter years, both in Ottawa, and after a promotion to head office in Toronto, she was a compassionate advocate for head and spinal cord injury victims ensuring they received equitable treatment and rehabilitation. Jewel was a committed proponent of the introduction of the graduated drivers licensing in Ontario, to reduce grievous injury and tragic mortality amongst the young. Jewel campaigned passionately, for many decades, for availability of reasonable housing for the working poor and single parent families by volunteering with both the Ontario and Ottawa Housing Authorities. She served on the Social Planning Council for many years, and contributed her skills with many other support groups, and election campaigns. She was an avid fan of traveling and the outdoors, a skilled photographer and pianist, a wonderful cook and an amazing baker, an expert seamstress, a patient practitioner of the art and skill of knitting and crocheting, and an accomplished green thumb. The family will receive friends at the TUBMAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 Richmond Rd. (at Roosevelt), Ottawa, 613-722-6559, from 2-5 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, December 3. Born in Perth-Andover on July 28, 1953, he was the son of the late Arthur and Helen (Francis) Moulton. Cyril is survived by his children, Tosha Moulton and Michael Moulton, both of Tobique First Nation; his sisters, Ann (Jerry) Beaman of North Carolina, Marion Moulton (Herman), Noreen Brewer, Priscilla Moulton (Neil Sealey), Andrea Moulton (Stephen Campbell) all from Tobique First Nation; his brothers, Richard (Judy), Thomas, Davis, Winston, Danny, and Kenney (Sypsis) Moulton, all from Tobique First Nation; and four grandchildren. Edgar Allain 1915 - 2007 Edgar Allain, age 92, of Résidence Urbain Breau, Saint-Antoine has passed away at the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Thursday, November 29th, 2007 after a brief illness. Born in Sainte-Marie de Kent on May 9th, 1915 he was the son of the late Laurent and the late Madeleine (Née Roy) Allain. Edgar is survived by two daughters; Marie-Anne Murphy (Bob) of Wolcott, Conn. and Roberta Allain of Bristol Conn; three grandchildren, Bret Murphy, Eirn Murphy and Elizabeth Ford; four great-grandchildren Max and Cooper Murphy, Michael and Daniel Ford; and a longtime friend, Jeanne Bastarache. He was predeceased by one sister Marie, and one brother Désiré. Edgar loved to dance and loved animals. SCOTT, WALTER AMOS The passing of Walter Amos Scott, husband of the late Doris (Akerley) Scott, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on November 28, 2007 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on July 18, 1912 in Temperance Vale, NB, he was a son of the late Frederick and Mary (Lyons) Scott. Walter was a Veteran of World War II, was enlisted with the 89th Battery, RCA in September 1939. He served throughout the Second World War with 5th Field Regiment RCA in Canada, England and North West Europe, returning to Canada in September 1945. He was a member of the Temperance Vale Baptist Church and formerly on the Board of Trustees at Marysville United Baptist Church. Walter is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Walter was predeceased by four sisters, Eva MacDonald, Hazel Christie, Jessie Malatesta and Ethel Russell; four brothers, George, Harold, Perley and James Scott. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, November 30, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. MEAGHER, John Nicholas October 3, 1919 to November 27, 2007 - In God's Grace, John Nicholas Nick Meagher passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 with his loved ones by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Lauchie and Catherine Meagher and brothers, Jim, Allan, Donald and John A. Nick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Catherine Chad/Mama (MacDougall); his sisters, Mary-Florence Chisholm and Helen MacDonald; and his brothers, Joe, Francis and J.D. His memory will rest forever in the hearts of his son Al (Carol), and his daughters, Cathy, Elayne (Tom), Liz (Jerry) and Janice (Ray). He was the proudest papa of Laughlin, Jennifer (Chad), John (Sharon), Clinton, Patrick, Derek, Jesse, Marlee and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jakob and Nolan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Nick left Brook Village, Cape Breton in 1946 to work in the mines of Northern Ontario. A tireless worker, he took great pride not only in his career in mining but also shared his talents as a carpenter with many projects in the Kirkland Lake area. He retired at the age of 65 as the Maintenance Supervisor of Teck Pioneer Residence but continued to work in forestry with Rosko Brothers and supervised numerous projects in the homes of his family and friends. A good and faithful servant, he ushered at Holy Name Parish for over 50 years, served as Eucharistic Minister and assisted at funeral liturgies. He made many life-long friends while a member of the Kirkland Lake Volunteer Fire Brigade. Nick loved the music of Cape Breton. Family and friends enjoyed many celebrations with Nick on the fiddle and Chad on the piano. Great times were also shared with family and friends while hunting and fishing. For the last year and a half Nick's home was Toburn Wing of the Teck Pioneer Residence. The family would like to express their gratitude to the TPR staff that became his extended family. Their compassion and loving care was a blessing not only to papa but to mama and each and every one of us.
