GATTRELL Victor George. It is with our deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved father on September 14, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Dad is predeceased by his parents William and Winnifred; brothers Ernest, Jim and Bill. Vic will be sadly missed by his wife Eveline; children Allan (Hiroko,) Linda (Barry;) his grandchildren Natalie, Monica and Michael; brothers Louis (Judy,) Albert (Anne;) sister Joyce (Bob;) sisters in law lness and Fern and his nieces and nephews. Our family would like to thank the doctors and caregivers at the Burnaby Hospital on Ward 3-D for their compassion toward our father. MORIN Vincent Pierre Joseph Passed away on September 14, 2007 in New Westminster, BC after a long battle with lymphoma. He had his family by his side. Born on April 28, 1934 in Lafleche, Saskatchewan, Vincent was raised with 7 sisters Claire (Pipes), Lucille (Lucy), Marthe (Mert), Monique (Mickey), Agathe (Aggie), Madeleine (Googoo), and Francoise (Frankie). Vincent moved to Vancouver in 1955, where he served as a firefighter with the city of Vancouver for 36 years, retiring as a Battalion Chief. Predeceased by his wife Colette (1946-2004), Vincent truly missed Colette by his side, he was never the same without her. Survived by his 3 sons Pierre (Jaydene), Daniel, and Bruno, his daughter Chantal, and 3 grandchildren Ashley, Andrew, and Jeremie. Vincent enjoyed playing hockey in his younger days, loved cooking, long hikes, chatting over a coffee and was a true family man. Vincent will be missed by many. HAROLD W. PAY 1915 2007 It is with sadness that we announce our father's passing on Thursday evening, September 13th, in his 93rd year. Dad was born in Vancouver, BC on May 22, 1915, the eldest child of Albert Pay (d. 1962) and Ellen Fairhurst (d. 1980). He lost Evelyn, his wife of 45 years, in 1987 and his son, Dennis in 2006. He was also predeceased by his brothers Ralph and Ken. Dad is survived by his sister Hazel, and by his loving daughters, Valerie, Maureen, Geri, Bev and Kelly, his 13 grandchildren, Cory, Casey, Kathleen, Kirsten, Melissa, Sarah, Andres, Cameron, Jordan, Kayla, Daniel, Kevin, Katrina, and by 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves numerous relatives, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and special family and friends, including Gerald, Sally, Donna, Dennis and Mary, Helen and Chris, and Ruth Dunlop and family. Always a gentleman, Dad was a truly decent human being. He was a voracious reader with a sharp mind and a great sense of humour. He was a patient, kind and gentle man, hardworking and responsible. He was a wonderful father, a dedicated and loving family man. We will miss him dearly. We owe a special debt of thanks to everyone on the 2nd floor, Finlay (Dr. Al Hogg Pavilion) at Peace Arch Hospital, for their loving attention to Dad. These wonderful people, nurses, caregivers, recreational staff, volunteers, residents and their families, and friends from all areas of the hospital, have provided Dad with such friendship, care and kindness these last four years; we are blessed and forever grateful for such good people. At Dad's request there will be no service. DUNSTAN, Mary At The Hospice at May Court on Friday, September 14th, 2007 at age 80, after a short but difficult illness with esophageal cancer. She was cared for by her family at home until moving to The Hospice at May Court just two days prior to passing away. She visited her husband Bill at The Perley & Rideau Veterans' Health Centre everyday while she was able and shared a bright loving home with her daughter Marjory, son-in-law Chris Bonyun and her grandchildren Charlotte and Nicholas. She is also survived by her daughter Ruth and grandchildren Christoph, Rebecca, Daniel, Anthony and Virginia. HEDLEY, Marie Hilda - Died peacefully Thursday 13th, September 2007 at Melville Lodge, Halifax Nova Scotia. Hilda was born the 29th February 1924 in Sunderland, England, the youngest daughter of John and Ellen (Wellburn) Ward. She is survived by her daughter Marie (Billie) McMillan (Peter) of Maders Cove, Nova Scotia and son Colin (Glenda) Hedley of Burlington, Ontario, her grandchildren, Sarah (McMillan) Campbell and Andrew McMillan, Lisa Hedley and Ian Hedley and her great granddaughters Lauren and Grace Campbell. As well, she is survived by her brother Tom Ward in Capetown, South Africa. Hilda was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Hedley and granddaughter Jennifer McMillan as well as her parents and her 3 older siblings. Cremation has taken place. PERCY, Madeline Mary (nee Thompson) - Madeline passed away graciously in her home September 14, 2007, in her 86th year. Madeline will be greatly missed by Dan, her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, daughter-in- law Gwen, brother Stan, sister-in-law Laurence, several nieces and nephews and their families. Madeline was predeceased by her son ‘Bob' September 28, 2006. Her many birthday cards and hugs will be missed by all. BROWN, Lowell Edward ~ On Friday, September 14, 2007 at Norfolk General Hospital, in his 88th year; predeceased by his wife Hilda (Moore) Brown (2000); dearly loved uncle of many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; will be missed by his special friend Van Brett; predeceased by his parents George Edward Brown and Mary Elizabeth Forrest, sister Helen Loveday (1984) and brother Orloff W. Brown (1992). Lowell was a veteran of the Second World War with Highland Light Infantry of Canada for five years, went into France on D-Day with the unit and served in European theatre as Platoon Sgt. with Carrier Platoon. He was wounded in France and again in Holland 21 days before VE Day and was awarded the Oak Leaf by the King's Order. He was a member of the H.L.I. Association in Galt, Kitchener and Brantford. He was employed by Booth Transport for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was also past member of the Who Did It Club. In keeping with Lowell's wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Lowell's life will be held Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church (St. George and Market Streets), Port Dover, officiated by his good friend Rt. Rev. Clarence Mitchell, Rev. Canon Bob Schroeder and Father Kendall Reimer. FERRIS, Mary Elizabeth - It is with 'All Eyes to Heaven' we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, nana and great-grandmother on Friday, September, 14, 2007. Mary was predeceased by her husband Alfred (1993) and brother Michael. Loving mother of Marilyn Walsh (Paul), Terry, and Rosemary Warden (Larry). Nana was deeply loved and admired by her 9 grandchildren and 9 great-great- grandchildren and she will never be forgotten. Mary retired from St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hamilton and more recently a member of Our Lady of the Scapular Church in Niagara Falls. A special thank you to Rose and Jim Anstey for their memorable Sunday visits. Mary was an avid gardener and recipient of Trillium Awards, avid card player, baker, loved music and enjoyed her many friends, neighbours, and caregiver Shirley Tries of the Red Cross. NEVILLS, Franklin 'Keith' - Peacefully, with Ruth by his side in Halifax, NS on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the age of 87. Keith is survived by his second wife of 12 years Ruth Humphrey Doleman. He is predeceased by his parents Franklin and Mildred Nevills of Dunnville, ON and by his wife of fifty years Anna Lane of Providence, Rhode Island. Keith will will be deeply missed by his sons Daniel (Joanne), and Douglas (Eva) and step-daughter Joyce Carley-Skidd. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Michael (Shelley), Corinne (Douglas McMullen), Vicki (Allan Barran), Barbara and Anna (John Owen); as well as by his great-grandchildren Justin, Joshuah, Alexander, Emma-Lee, Andrew, Nicole, Caitlin, Andrew, Noah, Alyssa, Austin, Conner, and Victoria. In the Second World War, Keith served as a Navigator- Bombardier in the 53 Squadron, R.A.F. and with the 407 Squadron, 'The Demons', R.C.A.F. He flew 87 missions before the end of the war. He graduated from the University of Toronto, Ontario College of Pharmacy and worked as a respected Pharmacist until retirement. Keith will be remembered for his love of aircraft, which he passed on to his sons and to their children as well, and for his devotion to his beloved Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. In his younger years he was an avid duck hunter, an enthusiastic fisherman and skilled woodworker. He held a special appreciation for the art of decoy carving. Cremation has taken place at Keith's request. A family memorial gathering will be held at a later date in Dunnville. 10829005

DOIG, Glenn Ross - It is with great sadness, the Doig family of St. Catharines announces their loss of Glenn Doig on Monday, September 17, 2007 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, with his family by his side. Loving husband of Anne for 55 years. Dear father of David (Sherri) and grandfather of Dillon and Rebekka. He leaves a sister Margaret Gibson of Thunder Bay, brother Donny (Donna) of Parry Sound, sisters in law and brothers in law as well as many nieces and nephews. Glen fought a long and painful but courageous battle with an incurable disease. He made many friends whom he met in his various occupations that included construction, a part owner of a hotel, installing pools and later farming, the occupation he enjoyed most of all. Glenn lead a full life and was known for being a hard worker. The family sincerely thanks the Paramed nurses, especially Eleanor.
