CAUVIER, Genevieve - Born, GENEVIEVE MARY ANN GUERTIN, July 17th 1919 to Cyprien and Melina Foisy in Chiswick,ON. She was one of 9 siblings who are all deceased. Genevieve is predeceased by her first husband Guido Veltri who died suddenly in October 1960. She is survived by her 3 children, Mike Veltri (Elaine), Jenny Reckzin, Pat Veltri(Marcel Labelle), six grandchildren; Tina, Lisa, David, Mark, Jim and Carla, 8 greatgrandchildren and one sister in law Betty Veltri Constanti of Toronto. Genevieve remarried in August of 1965 to Gerald Joseph Cauvier. She loved to perform, laugh, tell stories, sing and feed everyone her special spaghetti and meat balls. She was a long time employee of Civic Hospital and retired there after working in several capacities. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered for her GENTLE HEART. Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES 362 Airport Rd on Tuesday July 17 from 1 until time of funeral service at 4 pm. Cremation to follow. A huge heart felt thanks to the nurses on 3 west at Civic hospital who treated our Mother with lots of care and dignity, and all the support staff who where there for any and allof our needs. A special thanks to Eileen Samson and Christine Rose who spent countless hours helping out our family in many capacities, to Janet Ashton, who cared for my Mother for over a year, you will never be forgotten. COUCH, Barbara E. - Peacefully at the Trillium Ridge Retirement Centre on Friday, July 13, 2007 with her family by her side. Barbara in her 76th year is predeceased by her husband, Godfrey and father Jim Evans. Survived by her sons David (Laurel) of Kingston and Paul (Diane) of Aylmer, Quebec. Devoted 'Nan' to Katelyn, Alyson, Erin, Jeremy and Aimee. She will be dearly missed by her close family in England. Barb leaves behind her mother Lily Evans, sisters Heather Basher (Wesley), Gloria Bowden (Tony), and brothers James Evans (Judith) and many nieces and nephews. Barb emigrated to Canada from Cornwall, England in 1957. She retired from St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital after 35 years in the nursing profession. She led a very active and full life and enjoyed travelling and volunteering at many church and senior events. She was very appreciative and humbled by the support she received from her many close friends. The family will receive friends at the CENTRAL CHAPEL of the GORDON F. BARILKO, Alexander 19322007 - The family announces with great sorrow his death at the Timmins and District Hospital on Sunday, July 15th, 2007 at the age of 75 years. Loving husband of Mary (nee Sarkotich) of Schumacher and dearest father of Evelyn Barilko of Timmins. Brother in-law of Walter Sarkotich of Schumacher. He is also survived by his only sister, Mary Cattarello of Timmins and brother Edward Barilko of Oshawa. Predeceased by his parents Stephen & Alexandra Barilko as well as by his brothers William & Nicohlas. Alexander was the youngest son of a pioneer Timmins family. His parents and grandparents immigrated from Russia in 1912 and purchased land on Cedar St. from Noah Timmins. The family built the International Hotel, an early Timmins landmark. Alex operated the Hotel from 1965-1979. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 19th, 2007 in the CHAPEL of the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Fr. LEGACY, Carole A. - It is with deep sorrow that the family of the late Carole Legacy announces her passing at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto. Carole leaves to mourn her dear parents Cletuis, and Francis (step father Donald) Reid, her brother Dwight Legacy (friend Kathy) and sadly missed by her children Brendan Legacy, Dylan Ebelthite and Danielle Robitaille and her companion Paul Robitaille. Carole will be remembered by close friends; Maureen Bradley, Chasity Shearer and Angel Larante Daust and many more. Also survived by her nieces and nephews Joshua, Jocelyn and Jordan Legacy as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Carole was born and raised in Kirkland Lake and attended Swastika Public School, King George Public School and K.L.C.V.I. and when time permitted Carole enjoyed swimming and skiing. MATHIAS, Jemima (Genevieve) nee Pitremont - Mrs. Jemima Mathias passed away in the comfort of family and friends at the Kirkland & District Hospital at the age of 81 years on July 13, 2007. Jemima was born on Christmas morning 1925 to Jawbone and Annie Pitremont in the Community of Beaverhouse. She resided in her aboriginal community of Beaverhouse for the majority of her life, where she enjoyed the natural beauty of the land. Jemima was a longtime member of Beaverhouse First Nation Community. She married her childhood friend Alex John Mathias who predeceased her. Jemima was also predeceased by children Arthur & Henry Mathias and Elizabeth Languef & Betty Wabie. She is survived by her children Nancy Allen, Terry Mathias, Lynn Hall, Marcia Brown, & Ted Mills; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Jemima will be greatly missed by her lifelong friend Clara Mathias. ASHENBRENNER, Leonard - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard at the age of 94 years. Len will be greatly missed by his daughter Yvonne (Donald) Williamson and his son Dareau (Judy); grandchildren Shannon, Lynsi, Scott, Stacy, Karen and Ryan; seven great grandchildren and one brother Frank (Rose). He was predeceased by his wife Mary and many brothers and sisters. Len was born in Odessa, later the family moved to Dilke where they farmed. In 1920 they moved to Regina where Len met the love of his life, Mary. They were married shortly after and were together for 56 years. Len had a trucking company and started the Yellow Cab Company, which he ran for several years. He was the Light-Heavy Weight Wrestling Champion of Saskatchewan from 1936-1939. KEYS, Helen passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the age of 97. FIRTH, Winnifred Daisy (Woodard) Winnifred Daisy Firth passed away on Friday, July 13, 2007 at her residence in Saskatoon, SK. She is survived by three sons, Bob (Lynn), Dennis (Wendy) and Tom (Jodi); sister-in-law June Garner (Les); grandson Tom; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Megan; granddaughters, Sarah and Shantel; numerous nieces and nephews, and a special niece Patti (Scott) of Regina, SK. Winnifred was predeceased by her mother and father Nancy and Fred Woodard; her husband Brian; and one sister Edith. Brian and Winnie met at the Tech in Saskatoon and were married August 17, 1947. FERGUSON, Kenneth - It is with great sadness that his family announce the passing of Ken Ferguson in the North Bay Hospital on Friday, July 13th, 2007 in his 75th year. Ken worked and lived in Barrie his whole life and moved to North Bay 10 years ago. He is survived by his wife Hazel Ferguson (Beaucage) and by his brother Norman Ferguson. SHEARDOWN, Thelma - Thelma Sheardown (nee Goodhand) passed away peacefully at Coleman Health Care Centre with her family by her side on Friday, July 13, 2007, in her 92nd year. Thelma was the beloved wife of the late Cecil Sheardown and loving mother of Bill (deceased) and Joan, Charles and Lyn of Edgar, James and Irene of Dalston, and Howard (deceased) and Marilyn. She will be sadly missed by 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Cherished twin sister of Velma (the late Bruce Wice), sister Pearl (the late Herb Shannon), predeceased by Doris (the late Ken Crawford and Elsie (Burton Anderson). We will treasure our memories of her special family gatherings, love of nature, hard work, singsongs, quilting and crocheting and most of all her kindness to everyone.
