D'ANGELA, Tulio - At Bluewater Health, Mitton Site, on Saturday, June 23, 2007, Tulio died suddenly at the age of 87 with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Iolanda for 64 years. Dear brother of Valentino (Gina) D'Angela, Benito (Maria) D'Angela, Francesco (Domenica) D'Angela, Idia D'Angela, Marietta (the late Angelo) Vitti, and the late Joe (Gina) D'Angela; and brother-in-law of the late Attillio (Angelina) Tuzi and the late Luigi (the late Filomena) Tuzi. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Tulio served in WWII, worked as a labourer and cement mason with the Local 1089 and 915 Unions. McAULEY, Jean Marie (nee Thomas) - Beloved wife of Robert McAuley, went to be with her Lord on June 23, 2007 at Hospice House in Bancroft. Jean was born in Sarnia and moved to Wilberforce in 1972. She is predeceased by her first husband Bill Thomas and granddaughter Samantha Thomas. In 1997 Jean & Bob McAuley were married and together served the Lord for over 10 years. Jean is survived by her husband Bob, her parents, Ron & Catherine McBean of Mooretown, her children Leanne & Mark Kennedy of Wilberforce and Bob & Lori Thomas of Corunna, her precious grandchildren Vanessa Kennedy and Noah & Victoria Thomas and by her siblings Keith & Donna McBean, Kevin McBean, Joyce Boshaw and Marilee Whyte. Jean will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and by Bob's children and their families. Visitation and services were held from the Bancroft Bible Chapel on Monday June 25th with interment at Bear Creek Cemetery in Sarnia. PROSZEK, Stanislaw “Stan“ - At Bluewater Health, Palliative Care on Saturday, June 23, 2007, Stan died peacefully at the age of 82. Beloved wife of Zofia for 52 years. Loving father of Joanne Byers and her partner Claude Manneville of Pickering, Stan and his wife Simi Shulman of Oakville, Wanda and her husband Jeff Feigenbaum of Toronto, and the late Gienny Proszek (2002) and her husband Brian Ewener. Brother-in-law of Janina and her husband Bruno Kloczko. Proud grandfather of Krystina, Andrew, Victoria, Alex, Jacob, Avery, Aaron, and Nathan. Predeceased by his parents Ignacy and Maria Proszek; brothers Frank, Joseph and Ludwig Proszek; and his sisters Maria Lesniak and Johanna Zadora. Stan served in the Polish Army, with the American Army in Germany and was a member of the S.P.K. Polish Veterans of Canada. He was also a longtime member at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church and the Polish Society of Canada #14 and was employed with Holmes Foundry for 38 years. GREEN, Velma M. (nee Blancher) - It is with great sorrow that the family of Velma M. Green announces the peaceful passing of their Dear Mother at the Kirkland & District Hospital on June 21, 2007 at the age of 86. Velma was predeceased by her loving husband Henry Green. She was born in Ingersoll, ON. on November 25, 1920 and has since resided in Larder Lake, ON. Velma is survived by her 5 loving children, William Green (Esther) of Maple Ridge, B.C., Bruce Green of Larder Lake, Melva Luke (Howard) of Larder Lake, Henry Green of London, ON. and Lorelee Gardiner (Donald) also of Larder Lake. Predeceased by her husband Murray F. Styles. Loving daughter of Thomas J. Kirwin of Sudbury and Evelyn Kirwan (nee Langin) predeceased. Survived by her loving son Kevin Styles (Lucille), grandsons Taylor and Matthew, her devoted daughter Kimberly Gaudin (Greg) granddaughter Sara and her friend Bryan. Deeply missed by her brother George Kirwan (Ann) nieces Makayla, nephews Zeke, Trey and Seth, niece Jennifer and nephew Jason. Sincerely missed by her sister Beverly Guthrie (Andrew) and niece Robin-Lyn. TASTULA, Valpas “Wally“ - In loving memory of Valpas “Wally“ Tastula 74 years, who passed away Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Born in Kaustinen, Finland, he married Maija 55 years ago. Valpas worked as a heavy equipment operator at INCO for 36 years, retiring in 1990. He was always happy and he was devoted to his family. He was a member of St. Matthew's Church and the Sudbury South Seniors. Valpas was a skilled woodworker and a gifted musician, sharing his music at church and at home. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp on Tyson Lake. The family wish to thank Dr. M. Dube, the nurses and staff on 4th and 8th floors at the Laurentian Site, and Pastor Jussi Kataja for the care and kindness. Beloved husband of Maija (Valikaugas) Tastula of Sudbury. Bernard Boudreau Mise à jour le lundi 25 juin 2007 GRAND-BARACHOIS - C'est avec grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Bernard Boudreau, âgé de 66 ans, de Grand-Barachois, le samedi 23 juin 2007, à l'Hôpital régional Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont, après une longue lutte contre le cancer. Né le 8 septembre 1940 à Boudreau Office, il était fils de feu Alphonse et Germaine (Despres) Boudreau. Il manquera beaucoup à son épouse depuis 43 ans et 10 mois, Léa (Belliveau), et leurs deux filles: Julie Boudreau de Grand-Barachois et Nadine Shaffer (Derrick) de Haute-Aboujagane; plusieurs soeurs et frères: Thérèse Léger (John), Yolande Boudreau de Shédiac, Anita Hébert (Arice), Clorice Boudreau (Hectorine) et Louis Boudreau (Tilla), tous de Grand-Barachois, Yvette Cormier (Evariste) de Boudreau Ouest, Sr Juliette Boudreau, ndsc et Imelda Cormier (Léo Paul), toutes de Moncton; un petit-fils, Maxime Shaffer, ainsi que plusieurs nièces, neveux et amis. Outre ses parents, il a été précédé dans la tombe par une soeur, Yvonne LeBlanc. Il était propriétaire et gestionnaire du club de golf Pine Needles à Haute-Aboujagane. Il aimait naviguer son bateau à voiles de 35 pieds "Mon Rêve" qu'il a construit pendant trois hivers, voyager, chasser et faire de la peinture acrylique. Il était membre de l'Association atlantique et canadienne des surintendants de golf et membre du Club de corvettes du Grand Moncton. He was a member of the Atlantic and Canadian Golf Superintendents Associations, and the Greater Moncton Corvette Club. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 43 years and 10 months, Léa (Belliveau); and their two daughters, Julie Boudreau of Grand-Barachois, Nadine Shaffer (Derrick) of Haute-Aboujagane; several sisters and brothers, Thérèse Léger (John), Yolande Boudreau all of Shediac, Anita Hébert (Arice), Clorice Boudreau (Hectorine) and Louis Boudreau (Tilla) all of Grand-Barachois, Yvette Cormier (Evariste) of Boudreau West, Sr. Juliette Boudreau, n.d.s.c., Imelda Cormier (Léo-Paul) all of Moncton; one grandson, Maxime Shaffer; and by several nieces, nephews and friends. Hilda Cormier Mise à jour le lundi 25 juin 2007 SAINT-AMATEUR - À l'Hôpital régional Chaleur de Bathurst, le samedi 23 juin 2007, à l'âge de 76 ans, est décédée paisiblement entourée de sa famille Hilda Cormier, épouse de feu Alphonse Cormier, domiciliée à Saint-Amateur. Elle était fille de feu Dorothé et Adelard Savoie de Maltempec. Elle laisse dans le deuil une fille, Nicole (Omer Landry) de Saint-Amateur; un fils, Yvon (Nicole Pinet) de Trudel; ses petits-enfants qu'elle adorait: Éric Landry (Céline Haché) et Carole-Anne Cormier (ami Mathieu Beaudin), ainsi que deux arrière-petits-enfants: Ariane et Maude qui lui donnait une joie de vivre même si elle était gravement malade. OBITUARY WALTER EBELING March 23, 1925 - June 21, 2007 Walter was born in Halberstadt and raised in Birkholz, Germany, and he married lovely Hertha in 1948. He arrived in Canada July 1st, 1958 with his family and enjoyed a wonderful life in Montreal and Laval for 49 years. He had a successful career with Ferro Technique from 1958 until retiring in 1990. In 1964, he and Hertha built their home in Laval, where they lived for the past 43 years. His many and long lasting friends will remember him as a caring and jovial spirit. He held a strong connection to many relatives in Germany and enjoyed entertaining the many who came to visit Canada. OBITUARY The Very Reverend JOHN PAUL JAMES Paul James, of Huron Street Stratford, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Saturday June 23, 2007, just a month before his 77th birthday. Born in London, England, son of the late Gordon Stannus and Frances James, he was an Anglican priest and Dean Emeritus of the Diocese of Quebec. After working as an electrical engineer, he answered the call on his life and began his ministry in England. Paul came to Canada in 1971 with his family to lead a joint Anglican/United Church ministry in Lac St. Jean, Quebec. While serving as Dean of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Quebec City, he played an integral role in the ecumenical movement in the city and established the French ministry at the Cathedral. He served as rector to St. Matthias Church, Westmount. In his retirement, he became transitional priest in Newport, Vermont, before moving to Stratford four years ago. Paul was also a member of St. James Anglican Church Choir, Chaplain to the Royal School of Church Music and associate of Isaiah 40 Foundation. Paul and his wife Helen Sarah (Smith) James recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. He will be fondly remembered by his daughters and their families, Sarah and Dave Hicks, and sons, James and Shawn Hicks of Ottawa, and Ruth and Josh Lovell, their children, Adam, Gabrielle and Megan Lovell of Stratford. A service of Thanksgiving and Celebration will be held at St. James Anglican Church on Wednesday, June 27 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church an hour before the service. Ven. Dr. Lorne Mitchell will officiate assisted by Rev. John Spencer. Interment will be in the St. James Anglican Church Gods Holy Acre. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. James Garden Fund, Isaiah 40 Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society through the W.G Young funeral home, Stratford, Ontario (519) 271-7411. BONNEVIE, EDMUND J. - The death of Edmund J. Bonnevie of Kingston, husband of Bernetta (Piers) Bonnevie occurred June 22, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Saint John, son of the late Adelard and Suzanne (Johnson) Bonnevie. He was an Industrial Electrician and was a member of I.B.E.W Local 502. Edmund owned and operated Kingston Mechanical Steel Fabrication. He was a member of Fundy Coast Campers, Hammond River Angling Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved spending time with family and friends. Surviving besides his wife Bernetta are one son Mark, Kingston; one daughter Christine Dobbin (Brad), Quispamsis; three brothers, Yvon (Molly), Saint John, Leo (Gail), Quispamsis, Gerard (Alice), Windsor, On; 2 sisters, Jean Filmore (Frank), Ottawa, Yvonne Bonnevie, Saint John; two grandchildren, Lindsay and Alexander Dobbin; several nieces and nephews. CAMPBELL, GERALD J. - The death of Gerald J. Campbell of Saint John, husband of Hope B. (Sinclair) (Boyce) Campbell, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday June 22, 2007. Born in Public Landing, he was a son of the late Walter and Elsie (Pitt) Campbell. Gerald had been employed with Connors Brothers and was the branch manager in Saint John for many years. He was an honorary member Lieutenant of the fire police/salvage corps for many years. Gerald was Pentecostal by faith. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Kevin Campbell of Saint John; two stepsons, William Boyce of Apohaqui, NB and Donald Boyce (Sharron) of Saint John; one stepdaughter, Deborah Phillips (Ken Squarbridge) of Cody's NB; one sister, Gertrude Pitt of Saint John; two sister-in-laws, Marion and Mabel Campbell both of Saint John; twin granddaughters, Shelly (Salem) and Shauna (Dia); several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Kenneth, Harold, and Eugene Campbell. Gerald is resting at the Cavanagh Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 91 Leinster St. (634-1712). Ronald Mair 1950 - 2007 GRANDE-DIGUE, NB - Ronald Mair, 56, of 199 Grande-Digue Rd, Grande-Digue, NB, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Friday, June 22, 2007 after a brief illness. Born in Toronto, Ontario on November 28, 1950, he was the son of the Late Hugh Mair and the Late Edna McDowell. Ronald was an industrial millwright. Born in Chipman, son of the late Willard and Avis (Clarke) Smith, he is survived by his wife, Peggy (Wilson) Smith; by sons, Gregory (Natalie) Smith of Coal Creek and Sheldon (Charlotte) of Chipman; by daughter, Charlotte (Maynard) Murray of Chipman; by brothers, Jack (Grace) of Chipman, Allan (Louise) of Ontario and Lloyd (Anne) of Fredericton; by sister, Mary Darrah of Saint John; by grandchildren, Michael, Marissa and Marcus. William "Bill" C. Cheaney SACKVILLE, NB - William "Bill" C. Cheaney, age 86, of Sackville, passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 22, 2007. Born in Hotham, ON, he was a son of the late James and Edith (Elliott) Cheaney. Bill served overseas during World War II and enjoyed showing new recruits how to drive the heavy machinery. He was formerly employed with Neilson Chocolate in Toronto as a pipe fitter and head of the maintenance gang. Retiring in 1980 he moved to Sackville in 1999. Regulars at Shanty Bay Golf Club, he and Gladys shared a passion for golf. Bill loved to putter around the house and was always up for carpentry and plumbing challenges. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he always put family first. He will be sadly missed by his wife of over 60 years, the former Gladys (Ferro), Sackville; three daughters, Ruth (Frank) Cole, Sackville, Joyce Tan, Saint John, NB and Janet (Edward) Newbery, Toronto; and five grandchildren, Jeff, Ross, Michael, Craig, and Veronica. The last surviving member of his family, he was predeceased by his brothers, Sumner and Cyril; sisters, Yola, Bernice, Peggy and Della. Hester Aleatha Jonah 1922 - 2007 Hester A. Jonah, 84, formerly of Hillsborough, NB, passed away at Jordan Lifecare Center, the Glades, NB on Saturday, June 23, 2007. Born in Surry, Albert Co. NB, she was the daughter of the late Lessel and Bertha (Beaumont) Jonah. She was a member of Valley Baptist Church, Surry, NB. She worked as a mail order clerk with the Royal Canadian Army during war time in Saint John, NB. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara McMackin (Brian) of Salisbury, Linda Milton of Hillsborough and Brenda Steeves (George) of Parkindale; son, Gary Jonah of Dawson Settlement; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; by several nieces and nephews. Hester was the last surviving member of her immediate Family. She was predeceased by her husband, Boyd Jonah in 1991. BONNEVILLE, Frère Léo, CSV (1919 - 2007) Le frère Léo Bonneville, clerc de Saint-Viateur, est décédé le 23 juin 2007, à l'âge de 87 ans, dans sa 71e année de profession religieuse. Né le 22 septembre 1919, à Montréal, le frère Bonneville a prononcé ses premiers voeux le 24 juillet 1936. Le frère Bonneville a commencé sa carrière d'éducateur en enseignant dans diverses écoles de la région de Montréal. En 1946, il se rend en France et en Belgique pour prêter main-forte à nos confrères qui vivent les difficiles lendemains de la guerre. À son retour au Québec (1950), après deux années à l'École Secondaire Saint-Viateur, il s'inscrit à l'Université d'Ottawa et à l'Université de Montréal et commence à s'intéresser sérieusement au cinéma. En 1955, il fonde la revue Séquences. De 1960 à 1962, il étudie à l'Institut de filmologie de Paris. Dès lors, il consacrera le meilleur de ses énergies à l'éducation cinématographique en mettant sur pied des ciné-clubs et en donnant des cours à l'Université de Trois-Rivières et à l'Université d'Ottawa. Il travaillera à l'Office des Communications sociales et sera invité à faire partie de jurys lors de certains grands festivals du cinéma à Cannes et à Venise. En 1995, il a laissé la direction de la revue Séquences dont il avait été l'âme durant 40 ans. Il a toujours aimé écrire et on lui doit en particulier une biographie du P. Louis Querbes, fondateur des Clers de Saint-Viateur. Récemment, il avait été hospitalisé à Joliette où il vient de décéder. Le frère Léo Bonneville laisse dans le deuil ses frères et soeurs Mirielle «Mimi» (Marcel Landry), Thérèse, Roland (Jeannette Boudreau), Bernard (Noëlla Massé) ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. GAWDUNYK, Marie Alma (LaFond) - At Bluewater Health-Mitton Site on Sunday, June 24, 2007, MARIE ALMA (LaFOND) GAWDUNYK, age 76, of Sarnia, beloved wife of the late Michael Joseph Gawdunyk and dear mother of Judy Carlson and her husband Dr. Kurt of Fallon, Nevada and Gary Gawdunyk of Sarnia. Dear sister of Ronald LaFond of Sarnia. Also survived by seven grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Pre-deceased by two brothers and eight sisters. Mrs. Gawdunyk was born at Kapuskasing and had resided in Sarnia for the past 67 years. Cremation has taken place with interment of ashes in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. McALLISTER, Eugene Johnny 1920-2007 - W.W.II Veteran; Portsmouth Tavern Bartender, slinging beer to the patron's; Served with the Artillery and Military Police; Retired from DuPont after 22 years; Member of Legion Branch 496 for the past 38 year. Peacefully at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, comforted by his family at his side and in the watch of his angels from St. Mary's on Saturday, June 23, 2007 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Theresa McAllister (nee Ewart). Loving father of Paul (Pat), Linda Morrison (Wayne) and Patricia Clark (Mike). Cherished grandfather of Tammy, Jeff, Scott, Melissa, Dustin and Shawn and six great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Edward and Mary (nee Burns), daughter Deborah and son John and five brothers and two sisters. Johnny will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends will be received at the TROUSDALE FUNERAL HOME, Sydenham on Tuesday, June 26th between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held in Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Railton on Wednesday, June 27th, 2007 at 11am. Interment to follow at Saint Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Dear brother of Ethel (Gerald) Brown of Dresden. Brother-in-law of Evelyne (Ken) Saunders, Lloyd (Helen) McDonald, Gail Salisbury and Donna Croft.
