KIPPING, ISABEL CHRISTINA (NEE NICHOLSON) - With family at her side, Isabel Christina Kipping, R.N., age 80 years, was released from a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease on Friday, June 8, 2007 at Beach Grove Nursing Home, Charlottetown, PEI. Known to family and friends as "Girlie", she was the beloved wife for 56 years of Eric J. Kipping, Stanhope, PEI; and loving mother of Pat(ricia), Halifax, NS, John (Susan Montague), Fredericton, NB, Carl (Beverly), Long Reach, NB; and Jonathan (Vita), Saint John, NB. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Tara Kipping Perkins, Ucluelet, BC, Willie Kipping Perkins, Halifax, John Raymond Kipping, Fredericton, NB, Alexander Kipping, Long Reach, NB, and Christina Kipping, Saint John, NB. She is survived by one sister, Jean (David) Chabassol, Victoria, BC; and one brother, Edmund (Mora) Nicholson, Baddeck, NS; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Christopher (1996); sisters, Helen Martin, Alice MacRae; twin brother, Frank and brother, Billy; and by parents, William Wallace Nicholson and Melissa (Watson) Nicholson, Baddeck, NS. In a career that spanned forty years and four provinces, Isabel nursed hundreds of patients, many with Alzheimer Disease and other dementias. Throughout her life, she set a fine example of compassionate care, not only at work but for all who knew her as an active community volunteer in church, home and school, hospice care and as an advocate for death with dignity. Despite hardships and disappointments she never lost her playful zest for life and a strong heart that warmed and delighted all who met her. Isabel lived with Alzheimer's disease for more than fifteen years, the last four and a half years in Beach Grove Nursing Home, Charlottetown, to whose staff and volunteers the family extends deep gratitude for the quality of care, tenderness and respect rendered to Isabel and to the family. According to her wishes there will be two memorial services– one on each of her beloved islands. The first will be held on Thursday, June 14 at 2 pm in Stanhope United Church, Stanhope, PEI. A reception will follow. The second will take place at St. Andrew's United Church, Baddeck Forks, Nova Scotia where her cremated remains will be interred followed by a reception at the Baddeck Forks community hall. Yvonne Léger 1932-2007 `A l'Hôpital Dr. Georges-L. Dumont, le lundi 11 juin 2007, à l'âge de 74 ans, est décédée entourée de sa famille après une lutte courageuse du cancer de cerveau, Yvonne Léger, épouse de feu Valerie Léger, domiciliée au Portage. Née le 15 septembre 1932 à Cap-Pelé, elle était fille de feu Abel Bourque et de feu Christine LeBlanc. Elle était employée avec Paturel's jusqu'à 1987. Elle sera beaucoup manquée par sa famille qui l'aimait, son fils Alfred "Freddy" (Jeannine Kervin) de Shédiac, deux filles: Stella Cormier (Paul) du Portage, Huberte Cormier (Légis) de Trois-Ruisseaux; cinq soeurs: Marceline Léger (Fred), Laurina Landry (Francis) et Cécile Cormier (Yvon) tous de Grand-Barachois, Anita Burke (Ralston) du Portage, Alma Lirette (Gérald) de Bas Cap-Pelé; un frère Hervé Bourque (Anida) de Grand-Barachois, une belle-fille Magella Léger de Shédiac, cinq petits-enfants: Serge, Mathieu, Monique, Annie, Timmy; trois arrières-petits-enfants: Justin, Janelle et Joslain, ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux. Elle fut précédée dans la tombe par son époux Valerie (2006) et une soeur Corinne Boudreau (2003). La dépouille mortelle est exposée à compter de 14h, le jeudi 14 juin, au funérarium Frenette, 2642, chemin Acadie, Cap-Pelé (577-3297). Les funérailles auront lieu en l'église Ste. Thérèse d'Avila de Cap-Pelé, le vendredi 15 juin 2007, à 10h30. L'inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Heures de visites: le jeudi 14 juin, de 14h à 16h et 19h à 21h, et le vendredi 15 juin, de 9h30 jusqu'au départ (10h20).

HAYLOCK, Ellen Kathleen (nee Searles) - After a very lengthy struggle, Ellen Kathleen Haylock passed away on June 9th, 2007 at Wellington Terrace, Elora at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her dear husband Wray in 1999. Ellen was the cherished Mother of Brian and his wife Marge of Elora and David and his wife Lynn of Brantford and the much-loved Grandmother of Jennifer, Laura, Tom, Michelle, Jeff and Chris, of whom she was very proud. Ellen is also survived by her brothers John, Gord (Mary), Bill (Marion), Reg (Peg) and Bob (Brenda) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Beatrice (Lorne) and Gertrude (Norm) and sister-in-law Pansy. Ellen was born in the Delhi area and was married to Wray in 1946. In the early 1950's they moved to Lynnville where they raised their family and spent most of their married life. She was an active member of Lynnville United Church and later Sydenham United Church, Brantford and the Forresters where she served as secretary. She will be missed. ROVERSI, Frank - At the Welland General Hospital on Saturday June 9th 2007 Mr. Frank Roversi of Welland in his 70th year. Beloved husband of the late Doris Roversi (1991). Cherished father of Luke Roversi of Welland and Mark (wife Erika) Roversi of Fort Erie. He will be sadly missed by his grandson Jamie (Tommi Lee) Roversi and granddaughters Tammy (Jim) Barrett and Kelly Parkes (Mike Lewis) and his great grandchildren Maxwell Scholtens and Erika Madison Barrett. Brother in law of Mimi Roversi. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter Lisa, his parents Oreste and Elisa and his brother John. Frank worked for 41 years at Atlas Steels and was a long time parishioner of St. Andrew's Church. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 Main Street East Welland on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday in St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. PHILLIPS, Melville (Mel) - Passed away after a brief illness, peacefully surrounded by loving family, on Friday June 8, 2007, Mel Phillips, beloved husband of Dorothy Phillips (nee Meeking) and the late Marie Phillips, at the age of 81. Loving father of Elayne Fraser (Doug), Steen Phillips (Cornelia), Bryan Phillips (Brian Kirkwood) and Shannon Phillips. Loved grandfather of Andrea and Amy Fraser and Mark Phillips. Dear brother of Alma Ferguson. Predeceased by his siblings, Bea Blundell, Max Phillips and Cliff Phillips, parents, Nathaniel Steen and Elma Mae Phillips. Mel was a member of the Lion's Club and Chamber of Commerce in Wawa and an active member at St. John's Anglican Church in North Bay. NASINNYK, Michal (Mike) - The family announces with sorrow, his death on Saturday, June 9th, 2007 at the Laurentian Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 84 years, after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born August 27, 1922 in Western Ukraine and came to Canada in 1948, finally settling in Sudbury in 1951. He worked 30 years at the Frood-Stobie mine, starting as a long-hole driller and took pension in 1981 after 15 years as a motorman. He was a member of the INCO Quarter Century Club. He loved to walk and enjoyed the regular company of friends he met downtown and those at Lake Ramsey. Being an avid walker, he spent much time outdoors in the warmest of summers and coldest of winters walking the boardwalk at Bell Park. Dear father of Irene Fesyk (husband Boris) and Helen of Sudbury. He will also be missed by Helen & Jerzy Brelik of Oshawa and family in Ukraine. Resting at JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations to NEO Regional Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family. CRISTANTE, Dianella (nee Fabris) - In loving memory of Dianella Cristante, 79 years of Sudbury who peacefully passed away Sunday, June 10th, 2007 at the Extendicare-York Sudbury surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Casarsa, Pordenone, Italy and married Erminio Cristante in 1956 in Italy. Dianella came to Sudbury in 1961. A Roman Catholic she belonged to St. Patrick's Church. She was a devoted wife and mother and a loving sister. She loved to laugh and sing. She was strong willed throughout her life with a determination to always do her best. Dianella was a gifted seamstress and tailor. She made clothing for many Creighton friends and families, especially bridal wear. She worked at Eaton's for 20 years never missing a day. The family expresses its appreciation to the 5th floor Staff at Extendicare-York for their caring and compassionate support, After the past 3 years they were like a second family. They were attentive to all the needs of Dianella. Beloved wife of Erminio Cristante of Sudbury. Loving mother of Nevio. Cherished daughter of Antonio and Irma Fabris predeceased. CODERRE, Lucille (née Ranger) - Beloved wife for 52 years of Larry Coderre, died peacefully in her 75th year on June 9, 2007 in Ottawa. She was the much loved mother of Denise Van Herk (Michael), Lorraine Baldisera (Mark), Michelle Munroe (David), Gerry Coderre (Diane), Nicole Hoy (Brent) and Rochelle Hatton (Brent). She was the loving and much loved grandmother of 12 grandchildren, Elyse and Michelle Van Herk, Matthew and Michael Baldisera, Katie (Douglas Larivierre), Victoria and Alexander Munroe, Wesley and Melissa Coderre, and Eric, Curtis and Carolyn Hatton and 1 great grandson, Douglas Munroe Larivierre. Lucille and Larry were members of St. Pius X in Lively and St. Christopher, Whitefish between 1956 and 1993.
