CERILLI, Alberto - In loving memory of Alberto Cerilli, 80 years, who passed away Sunday morning, April 8, 2007 at the SRH- St. Joseph's Health Center. Alberto was born in Supino, Frosinone, Italy and married Maria (Fiorino) in 1953 in Sudbury. Alberto came to Sudbury in 1950 from Italy. He worked at the Copper Refinery having 35 years service at INCO, retiring in 1983. A Roman Catholic, he belonged to St. Anthony's Church. In healthier days, he was a member of the Caruso Club. He enjoyed playing bocce, fishing and gardening. His green thumb resulted in beautiful roses. His passion was his cars which he kept in mint condition. Alberto will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour and devotion to his loving family especially his precious & supportive wife. Beloved husband of Maria (Fiorino) Cerilli of Sudbury. Loving father of Victor (wife Deborah) of Newmarket, Enrica (husband Gerry Dewar) of Sudbury and Flavio (wife Sue) of Barrie. LYNCH, Henry “Harry“ Gordon - In loving memory of Henry “Harry“ Gordon Lynch 78 years, who passed away Saturday morning, April 7th, 2007 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Born in Frontenac Township, he married Marian in Sudbury, in 1960. Harry worked at the INCO Smelter for 45 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Copper Cliff United Church and the INCO Quarter Century Club. While at INCO he served as a volunteer Firefighter. In younger days Harry enjoyed hunting and a good game of cards. Harry was devoted to his loving family and always kept a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. Beloved husband of Marian (Feltham) Lynch of Copper Cliff. Loving father of Donna (husband Sterling Fillier) of Sudbury, Daniel at home, Brian (wife Benita) of Toronto, Catherine (husband James Morrison) of Garson, Jerry (wife Kim predeceased) of Hanmer and Karen (husband Mark Lefebvre) of Thompson. OBITUARY ELLEN MARY AAGAARD (nee EARLE) Passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2007 at Belmont House Nursing Home, Toronto in her eighty-fifth year in the presence of her daughter and gracious staff of 3 West. She is predeceased by her husband, Erik Aagaard of Copenhagen, Denmark. Ellen leaves behind her grieving daughter, Karen S. Ansari and son-in-law Deepak Ansari; her sisters Rita Bittle and Lorraine Emery, brother William Earle, nephew Kevin Bittle and brother-in-law Thomas Emery. She also leaves behind her loving god daughter Mrs. Carole Stafford of Boca Raton, and the Stafford Family. Mother was a kind and gracious lady who led an adventurous and active life having traveled the world, supporting her husband in his capacity as Consul-General representing Denmark in Rangoon, Burma from 1959-1964. She will be missed immensely. A special thanks to staff on 3 West at Belmont House for their love and care during my mother's final years. OBITUARY LOUISE LAMPLOUGH (nee MARSHALL). (1918-2007) Born in Edmonton, Alberta, June 30, 1918, Louise passed away in her eighty-ninth year peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal on April 5, 2007. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Swinton Lamplough of Montreal, her parents, William and Katherine Marshall, her brother Samuel Marshall and her sister-in-law Dorothy Marshall Elhard all of Edmonton. Louise will be fondly remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews; Elna Nash and Carol Marshall of Edmonton, Bill Marshall of Medicine Hat, Janet Fleming of Gray Creek B.C., Susan Lincoln of Broxton, Massachusetts, Jane Brazeau in Montreal, Stephen Cushing of Victoria and John Cushing of Edmonton, by Jennifer Marchand and Judith Dingemans in Montreal. Louise grew up in Edmonton, but considered Montreal, where she lived for 50 years, her home. She was an ardent badminton player with many provincial championships to her credit. She was a lifetime member of the Montreal Badminton and Squash Club (now the Atwater Club), and the Mount Royal Tennis Club. She enjoyed watching tennis to her final days. She treasured her time with family and friends most especially playing bridge on retreats in the country. She is remembered for her quick wit, her sense of humour and her integrity and grace. The family would like to extend their gratitude and heartfelt thanks to George Kinloch, for his steadfast support and friendship towards Louise for many, many, years. OBITUARY ROMAN POLUHA 1928-2007 It is with very heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving, sweet father and grandfather who passed away on Friday, April 6, 2007. Roman Andrey Poluha was an incredibly unique man. A gentleman in the true sense of the word. He lovingly brought up six children with his beloved Nancy whom he has missed terribly. We were privileged children indeed to have such sweet, kind parents. A WWII veteran, a fantastic bridge player, a stellar human being who donated his spare time to every organization that needed it - nothing compares to the kind of father he was. All his children - Roman (Nancy), Nadia, David, Marta (Kader), Natalia (Mark) and Marika will miss him beyond what words could possibly describe. His grandchildren Hanya, Sarah, Millie, Maksym, Stefan, Sharif, Kateryna, Megan and Matejko will miss him terribly. He also leaves to mourn his sister Vera in the Ukraine, so near and dear to his heart. He always had a kind word and ready smile for everyone. A keen intellect, insatiable curiosity and the kindest eyes one could ever gaze into. We know that hes being greeted by his beloved Nancy and his firstborn son Stefan in heaven. VICHNAYA PAMYAT! BOTTEN, Olive Edith Passed away peacefully at the Peter D. Clark Long Term Care Centre on Friday, April 6, 2007 at the age of 98. Olive emigrated to Canada from Kent, England with her family, arriving in Canada on May 7, 1913. Olive was predeceased by her parents Arthur William and Edith (Thorpe) Botten, 3 brothers; Stanley and William (Bill) both of Ottawa, Cyril of Plattsburg, N.Y. and a sister Nellie Botten of Montreal. Survived by her sister-in-law Florence Botten, nephew Charles (Elizabeth) Botten of Plattsburg, N.Y. and niece Barbara (James) Lockley of Altona, N.Y., five great nieces and nephews and six great great nieces and nephews. Olive retired from the Department of National Defence in 1974. Olive enjoyed travelling and visiting her family in Plattsburg, N.Y. and in England. HALL, Elizabeth Peacefully at home with family by her side, Saturday, April 7, 2007. Elizabeth Agnes Hall age 97. Lovingly remembered by a sister and best friend Madeline Driscoll and a brother Michael. Cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Born at the Highlands, Newfoundland, she taught elementary school for 45 years in various west coast Newfoundland Communities, finally settling in Corner Brook. She spent many summers in Ottawa, earning a BA Degree from the University of Ottawa and eventually retired there in 1975. She was a great Traveller - Europe - Holy Land - Loved Music - regular trips to Opera NYC - Independent - reluctantly gave up driving at age 92. Don served as an Ottawa Alderman for 18 years including being Dean of the City of Ottawa Council from 1975 to 1980, Councilor for the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton from 1968 to 1980 and Dean of the Ottawa Carleton Council from 1968 to 1980. Throughout his civic service he championed change and chaired various committees including chairman of the Board of Health and later the Riverside Hospital. She commenced her adult life as a graduate of the Fredericton Normal School at the age of seventeen. After a brief teaching career she married Willard Tims and spent many years as a resident of Fredericton before moving back to Lakeville Corner. A long time member of the Women's Institute, the Four Lake Seniors and a life member of the Lakeville Corner United Church Women, Vickie was well known for her church organ playing, her quilting, painting, crochet and needle point work plus her involvement with the Minto area retired teachers. Her husband Willard; sister, Edythe Byno; and brothers, Maurice and Harrison predeceased Vickie. Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Minto Funeral Home on Tuesday April 10. She was born in Saint John on January 4, 1932, a daughter of the late Saleeba and Jean (Khouri) Tobias. Alannah's natural flair for all things beautiful led her to a career in beauty and fashion, starting in Saint John and continuing in Vancouver. In recent years, due to failing health, she returned home to be near her family. She was predeceased by five brothers, Frederick, Louis, David, Jamael, and Francis; and a sister, Victoria. RYAN, M. CATHERINE - The death of M. Catherine Ryan, widow of Mr. Justice Henry E. Ryan of the New Brunswick Court of Appeal, occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital, Saint John, on April 7, 2007. Mrs. Ryan was born in Fredericton March 22, 1924, a daughter of the late Joseph G. and Edythe E. (Coyle) Boyle. She was predeceased by her brother, J. Murray Boyle; and her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) McDermott. She is survived by eight children, Carey, William, Ellen, Joseph, Eileen, Mary Alice, Elizabeth, and David; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graduate of St. Vincent's Girls' High School, she was valedictorian of the class of 1941 and the recipient of various academic prizes. Upon graduation from high school, she was the recipient of a scholarship to and attended Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, N.S. She returned to Saint John, where she attended the University of New Brunswick, Faculty of Law, then situated there. In her first year of law school, and the only female, she was the class academic leader and graduated in June 1946 together with her future husband, Henry E., and brother-in-law, William F.Ryan. Upon graduation, she practiced law in Saint John with Mr. James B. Dever. She was a practicing member of the Law Society of New Brunswick throughout her life and was recognized for fifty years of membership in the society in 1996. In the 1940's she was considered an anomaly as a woman engaged in the study and then practice of law. At that stage she was one of only twelve women to have graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of New Brunswick since its founding in the 1890's. After leaving the active practice of law in 1947 when she married, she was surrounded by the law and maintained an avid interest in the law throughout her life. Her husband was engaged in the practice of law for over twenty-five years and then was appointed to the New Brunswick Court of Appeal in 1972; and her brother-in-law, William F. Ryan, was the long-time Dean of Law at the University of New Brunswick before being appointed to the Federal Court of Appeal in 1974. She had a very special and enduring relationship with her father, Joe Boyle, who was a successful businessman and owner of Boyle's Hardware, Main St., Lancaster. She actively assisted him in the operation of the business. Kaye Ryan, as she was known, was a great conversationalist, extremely interested in the history of her city and province. She had an abiding interest in genealogy, her Irish heritage and was the author of a history of St. Rose de Lima Parish. She had many life long friends who will miss her dearly along with her family. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose de Lima Church on Monday morning at eleven o'clock, followed by private burial. PYE, MARION E. - The death of Marion E. Pye, widow of Leo P. Pye, occurred at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Saturday, April 7, 2007. Mrs. Pye was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Hanlon) Doody. She had been employed with Dominion Stores Ltd. for 34 years and was a long time member of the Catholic Women's League. She is survived by her son, Leo B. NEILSON, GORDON ARTHUR - Gordon Arthur Neilson died unexpectedly Friday April 6, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Gordon was the son of James E. Neilson and the late Irene (nee Morrison). Gordon was 49 years old and is survived by his best friend and wife, Stephanie (Vail); his daughters, Shona (Malone) and Sarah Elizabeth who her father lovingly called CBU; as well as his two granddaughters, Alicia and Abigail; his sister, Melanie; and niece, Aleya. He is also survived by his mother and father in law, Malcolm and Melvina Vail; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth; brother-in-law, Gordon; two nephews, Matthew and Benjamin; and his step-mother, Patricia Neilson. Gordon was employed by NB Power at Point Lepreau. He graduated from NBCC-SJ as a Power Engineering Technologist. Gord was a member of Balls Lake Fishing Club and Westfield Golf & Country Club. He played darts with #2 Golden Hawks and loved to fish, ski, hunt, golf, and most importantly, laugh. His many friends will fondly remember Gord as a great story teller. Gord was the love of Stephanie's life, and will be forever missed by his family and large circle of friends. W. Edwin (Coodie) Cohoon W. Edwin (Coodie) Cohoon 77, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday April 7, 2007. Born in Trenton, NS, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Campbell) Cohoon. Coodie was a retired Warrant Officer with the Canadian Armed Forces with 23 years service and a former Agent for Great-West Life Assurance Company, Moncton. He was a member of Moncton Legion Branch #6 and a former coach for Oromocto and Moncton Minor Hockey Associations. He enjoyed golfing, genealogy, dancing and photography but first and foremost was his great love for his wife and children, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren who were very near and dear to him. MACKEEN, JOHN STEWART - 75, Granville Ferry, N.S., formerly of St. Andrews, N.B. and Rothesay, N.B. passed away Friday April 6, 2007 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Husband of Anne (Jefferson), younger son of the late Dr. and Mrs. R.A.H. Mackeen of Rothesay. Survived, besides his wife, by his sister, Mary Spencer, Somerset, England; niece, Jennifer and her daughter, Anna; and by nephews, Simon and Robert. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, Robert. John taught English Literature for many years at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John. He and his artist wife, Anne, loved gardening and the outdoor activities. John was very fond of a succession of Cairn Terriers. John will be sorely missed by his many friends. DUPLESSIS, BARBARA Barbara Mildred Duplessis, age 89, of the Glen Haven Manor and formerly of High Crest Place and Brother Street Seniors, New Glasgow, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born September 2, 1917 in Nashwaak Bridge, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Murray) McCrae. She was a graduate of Normal School and Business College in Fredericton. She worked for C.N.R. for 30 years in Moncton and Edmonton, Alberta and then worked as a receptionist for Dr. MacQuarrie, Dr. Barclay and Dr. Park. She was a member of Trinity United Church, where she served as an elder and was a member of the U.C.W. She was a member of the Aberdeen Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by daughter, Barbara (Gerald) MacDonald, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Susan (Terry) Harper, Fort McMurray, Steve (Karen) MacDonald, New Glasgow, Heather (Brian) McKay, Lake Echo, Lisa (Bob) Billard, Musquodoboit Harbour, Jennifer (Trevor) Holmes, Foxbrook; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Ferne Coughlan, Nashwaak Bridge, NB; five nieces. Née le 11 janvier 1916 à Lakeburn, elle était fille de feu Josias et Mélanie (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses onze enfants: Andréa Green (Yvon), Léa Dutcher (David), Elizabeth Green (Peter), Daniella LeBlanc (Alban), Oscar (Catherine), Roméo (Sylvia), Raymond (Pierrette), Léo (Rosella), Roger (Gloria), et Denis (Lise) tous de Scoudouc, Georgette Gaudet (Paul) de Memramcook; sa soeur Viola Benoit de la Résidence du Marais à Dieppe, ainsi que plusieurs petits-enfants et arrière-petits-enfants.
