Born in Fredericton NB, on January 19, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ella (McCormick) Seymour. She was the secretary for the Salvation Army Family Services in Ottawa, former member of the AltaVista Baptist Church, Ottawa, a member of the Devon Park Baptist Church Fredericton and Devon Park Mission Society. She is survived by three sons John (Betty) Hanna of Pilot Butte, SK, Peter (Nora) Hanna of Ottawa, ON and Paul Hanna of White Rock, BC; two daughters Karen (Gordon) Mock of Balgonie, SK and Kathie (David) McMath of Island View, NB; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren: special cousin Bill (Jackie) McCormick of Fredericton, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. PACARYNUK, William Stephen Peacefully in Ottawa on Saturday, May 27, 2006 after a brief illness, William (Bill) Pacarynuk, aged 71 years. Devoted husband of Doreen for 38 years. Loving father of Laurie (Peter Dibble), Lisa (Bernard Rousseau) and Lynn (Allan Stanley). Proud grandfather ("Papa") of Blake and Mark Stanley. Expectant grandfather of babies Dibble and Rousseau. Bill was born in Kenora, Ontario and spent his first 17 years there before moving to Calgary, Alberta. He touched many lives in the 30 years he spent as an elementary school teacher and administrator with the Calgary Board of Education. Bill also enjoyed many different activities during 10 years of retired life on Vancouver Island. He moved to Ottawa in the summer of 2005. Bill will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Margaret V. Gibson 1944 - 2006 MIRAMICHI, NB - Margaret Virginia Gibson, daughter of Mary and the late John Glendenning, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, and formerly of Black River Bridge, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at her residence on Sunday, May 28, 2006, at the age of 61. Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of Mary (Walting) and the late John Glendenning. She was a homemaker and worked in the family business, Glendenning's Store, in Black River Bridge. Following her fathers death in 1986, she assumed management of the business until its closing. She was a good and faithful member of St. Pauls Presbyterian Church, Black River Bridge; a former Sunday school teacher; a member of the Womens Missionary Society. She is survived by two sons, Kevin Gibson (Linda), of Fredericton and Greg Gibson (Sarah), of McBride, BC; her mother, Mary Glendenning; one sister, Jean Williston (Ray), of Moncton; the "joy of her life", her three grandchildren, Maeve, Austin and Jordan; three nieces, Julie MacPhail (Jason) and their daughter, Ella, of Lower Coverdale, Kathy Robichaud (Robert), of Maugerville, and Deborah Zaidi and her sons, Aadam, Aamir and Azeem, of Scarborough, ON; one nephew, Tim Williston (Geraldine) and their son, John, of Riverview; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Arthur was born at Waterford in 1915 a son of the late John and Iva (Flewelling) DeForest. He operated a Blacksmith Shop for 60 years and was a mail driver for 40 years. Arthur is survived by his wife Laura M. She was born at Kingston, N.B. She was a lifelong resident of the Hampton area. For several years she was Registrar of Deeds for the County of Kings. For the last 11 years, Yvon was employed by Machine Roger, a mining contractor, as Director of Operations. In total, he worked in the mining industry for over 32 years. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with his wife and sons. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Loving husband of 31 years to Phyllis (nee Allison) of Val Caron. PANES Major (retd) Gabriel C.R. KH, CD2, P Log, pmsc November 1, 1944 - May 24, 2006 Major Panes was born in Toronto and passed away peacefully in Calgary. His nearly fifty-year involvement with the military began in 1957 with the RCEME Cadet Unit. Since 1961, he served in the Cdn. Air Force, US Marine Corps, Cdn. Army Reserve and the Cadet Instructor Corps. He retired from Cdn. Army Primary Reserve in 1999. Amongst his many awards was the Queen's Jubilee Medal. "Gabe" graduated from the U of A with honors in Local Government Studies, from the Cdn. Military Staff College, and the Cdn. Logistics Institute. Over his lifetime he held various positions with Alberta Army Cadet League, Hospitaller Order of St. John's, American Legion and Royal Canadian Legion. He loved the Calgary Stampede and was a dedicated thirty-year volunteer. Gabe is survived by spouse Sheila Kearns, son Stephen, daughter Kimberley Hanney (Andrew) of Calgary; sister Marilyn Hodgins (Ewart), North Carolina; and his constant companion, Teddy. JONES Eileen Grace 1916 - 2006 Eileen Grace Jones, beloved sister of Muriel (Molly) Jones of Cochrane, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Sunday, May 28, 2006, at the age of 90 years. Eileen was born on February 9, 1916, in Calgary, eldest daughter of Gilbert Owen Jones and Evelyn Grace Jones, both of whom had come from Bristol, England. Dean Paget introduced them and later married them in the cathedral. Eileen Grace lived with pain all her life as she suffered from a spinal injury as a baby and later a heart condition which never left her, resulting from shock after witnessing her eight year old sister fatally burned in an early morning fire. After many years of enforced rest she was determined to become an executive secretary to Picker X-Ray and subsequently to Canadian Pacific Airlines Ltd. until its closing. Eileen and Muriel enjoyed extensive travelling on their holidays and saw much of the world. All her life Eileen had a great love and compassion for animals. In grade three she joined the Junior S.P.C.A. in Calgary and continued to work in the society for many years, some years on the board. She became a member and life member of many humane societies throughout Canada and internationally. Of particular interest was S.P.A.N.A. for the treatment of abused horses and donkeys in North Africa and worldwide. She was a lifetime member of both the Canadian Bible Society and the South Alberta Branch where she served a term on the board. Eileen was a member of the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer for most of her life and also helped out at the Mission Church of St. George's, Parkview. Upon moving to Cochrane in 1977, she attended All Saints Anglican Church for two years, and subsequently St. Barnabas' Anglican Church in Calgary. Eileen is survived by her sister Muriel (Molly) who misses her greatly as they lived together all their lives. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Mrs. Elizabeth Jones of Calgary; nephew Reginald Gordon Jones; niece Mrs. Diane Walford; three great-nieces and one great-nephew, all of whom live in Ontario. Eileen was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy and Betty; and brother Frederick Owen Jones. Funeral Services will be held at St. Barnabas' Anglican Church (1407 - 7 Avenue N.W.) on Monday June 5, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Jagdutt Singh, Presider. Elle était la fille de feu Osias Chénier et de feu Marianne Scantland. Elle était l'épouse de feu René Lanthier. GOODDY, Doreen It is with great sadness that the family of Doreen Gooddy announces her passing peacefully at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute on Friday, May 26th, 2006 following a long illness which she faced with courage, resolve, strength and humour. Born in Bexleyheath, Kent, England on October 24, 1935. Doreen embarked on an adventure with her husband Laurence and immigrated to Canada in 1957 where they raised 3 children Elaine, Michael and Allison enjoying a full and active life. Doreen was active in her community working with local charitable societies to provide care and comfort for others. She was a keen gardener and joined the Friends of the Farm Gardening Volunteers until ill health prevented her participation. Throughout her life she worked to care for the environment showing a keen interest in the birds and animals both in Canada and England. She enjoyed time with her 4 grandchildren Rebecca, Hayden, Declan and Brendan and had a great joy in watching and influencing their development. Doreen was loved by many for her ability to see the good in all and bring out the best in people around her. She celebrated 51 years of marriage with Laurence this year. She will be sadly missed by her son-in-law Dave, daughter-in-law Marni and all the family and friends in both Canada and England. Friends may visit the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, June 1st, 2006 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute who have supported both Doreen and her family throughout her 13 year illness. SMITH McKAY Hazel May UE 1902 - 2006 Hazel McKay UE of Calgary died peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at the age of 104 years, after a brief illness. She was born Hazel Wagar on February 20, 1902 in Parham, Ontario, of United Empire Loyalist stock. Hazel is survived by her children, Jack Smith of Salmon Arm, BC, Betty MacKenzie of Cobourg, ON, and Shirley Cooke of Calgary. Her nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren knew her as Nanny Mac. She was predeceased by both her husbands, Ralph Smith and Carl McKay and her grandson Bruce Cooke. She is lovingly remembered by family, friends, and fellow residents and staff at Eau Claire Retirement Residence. CHASE, HANNAH ETHEL The death of Hannah Chase occurred at York Manor Nursing Home in Fredericton on Friday May 26, 2006 at the age of 93. She is survived by one daughter Ann Storey of Fredericton and daughter-in-law Elaine Chase of Fredericton. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. KENNEDY, RALPH BURPEE The death of Ralph Kennedy of Youngs Cove, NB, occurred unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 28th, 2006. Born in Youngs Cove, NB, in 1924 he was the youngest son of the late Bruce and Hazel (MacVicar) Kennedy and the husband of Audrey (MacRae) Kennedy. Ralph was a lifelong member of the Youngs Cove United Church and an active member of his community. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #60 for the past 57 years having served in several positions including past president. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey; one son, Joe (Carol) of Lincoln, NB, two daughters, Susan Kennedy- MacMullen (Dale) of Fredericton and Carolyn Pellerin (Donald) of Rothesay, NB; grandchildren, Tony, Jason, Sarah, Jillian, Kelley, Philip, Jennifer and Jessica; one great- granddaughter, Grace; two brothers, Lloyd Kennedy of Youngs Cove and Colin Kennedy of Saint John, NB. McCUE, AUDREY R. - The death of Audrey Robina McCue of St. Martins, wife of the late Charles Lawrence McCue, occurred on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in West Quaco, NB, on July 31, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Norman M. and Ruth I. (Brown) Prosser. Audrey was a member of Holy Trinity Church, St. Martins, the Quilting Guild and the ACW of the church. She was an affiliated member of the Fundy #34, Order of the Eastern Star, the St. Martins Senior Citizens Club and the St. Martins Historical Society. She served as a telephone operator at the St. Martins exchange for many years and was well known by her art work, being a self taught artist. She is survived by one niece, Audrey Ann Arsenault (Andrew) of St. Martins; double cousin, Georgie Prosser of Riverview and her two daughters, Marjorie Prosser and Lynn Reade; several great nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by one brother, Norman Lewis and one sister, Margaret Prosser.
