MacDONALD, Donald Ewan 88, of Forest Glen, Yarmouth Co., NS, passed away May 8, 2006, in Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax. Born in Netherhills, Saskatchewan. He was one of eight children of Hugh and Margaret (nee MacDonald) MacDonald. He is survived by a son Randy, daughter-in-law Margaret, grandchildren Katie and John, great-grandchildren Brennan and Kayden, and a daughter Dr. Marilyn MacDonald. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret Catherine (nee Weir); son Garry Ewan; brothers Cameron, Huntley, Robert and Jack and sisters Marguerite, Mildred and Mae. Donald worked for many years in the mining exploration industry, for Selco and Brinex, and after retirement, returned to university, receiving a Diploma in Horticulture from the University of Guelph. Cremation took place under the direction of Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro. No visitation or service by family request. McKEE, David Adam. Of Little Britain, Ontario passed away on Friday, May 12, 2006 having just celebrated his seventy-seventh birthday. He died peacefully surrounded by his loving family. His strong spirit and sense of humor was with him until the end. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Shirley Marie McKee (nee Lorch), and his five children: Thomas (Lee Mitchell), Valerie (Paul Grizenko), Vicki (Nick Pereira), Scott (Penny Taylor) and Tracey (Robert Bowrin) and ten grandchildren. David, the youngest of nine children, was born April 29, 1929 on the family farm in Glen Allan, Ontario. He left the farm at a young age and pursued many ventures with his characteristic determination including the manufacture and sale of farm equipment and pulp and paper design engineering. His most recent success was with the satellite business, Lunaterre Marketing and Development Ltd., which he operated for eleven years with the help of his wife, son and son-in-law. Throughout his life, he truly did it his way. He will be remembered most for his great humour, generosity and enthusiasm for life. Husband, father, grandfather, great friend, dreamer, fisherman, wine maker, sports fan, car enthusiast and entrepreneur - Dad did it all. He will be greatly missed by everyone. SILVERTON, Morton. 1914-2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our father, Morton Silverton on Friday May 12, 2006. He was the only survivor of his immediate family from Mezerich, Poland, which he left in 1929. He was devoted to his wife Rose, nee Yaffe, to whom he always gave credit for their success in business. Their marriage was a model to us, their children Sandra (and Allan) Ashman, Sam (and Susan) Silverton, and Susan (and Patrick) Storring, and to our children in turn; Laura Ashman, Jonathan Ashman (and his wife Stephanie), Anita Tarpey nee Silverton (and her husband Tony), Natalie Silverton (and her husband Calvin Lloyd), and Adam Storring. ARMSTRONG, Captain J.W. (Jack) MBE, CD, MID (Retired RCASC) Peacefully, at Ottawa General Hospital on Friday, May 12, 2006. Jack was born in Barrie, ON Feb. 7, 1915. Son of the late William Arthur Armstrong and his wife the former Bertha Mae Brown, step-son of the late Charles Stewart. He retired from the Canadian Army after 29 years serving in Canada, United Kingdom and North West Europe. Jack participated in the Dieppe raid, a memory that never left him. During his six years overseas he was awarded the MBE and was Mentioned - in - Despatches for service in North West Europe. He began his Military career in May 1931 as a Boy Soldier with the 1st Field Brigade, Ottawa and retired in 1966 from Eastern Ontario Area Headquarters in Kingston. After retirement from the military he was employed by Queens University as Administrative Assistant, Student Health Service for ten years. Jack was an ardent out-door enthusiast and spent many years fishing and hunting. He was an active curler at Kingston Garrison Curling Club. Jack was the husband of the Late Ruby (Way) and is survived by his children Charles (Barbara) Ottawa, John (Marilyn) Kingston, Cynthia (Dennis) Ingersoll and Robert, (Smoky Lake, Alberta) and Grandfather of Scott (Christine) Ottawa, Jocelyn (Christopher) Montreal, Phillip and Eric, Kingston. For the last 5 years, Jack has lived in Ottawa at the Colonel By Retirement Residence and the family would like to thank the staff for the care and friendship they have provided. The family thanks the staff of the General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital's Emergency Room, ICU and Neurology team on the 6th floor. Your thoughtfulness was sincerely appreciated. At Jack's request there will be a private service, followed by cremation. Inurnment at Barrie Union Cemetery at a later date. BROUGH, Frank Sheldon (June 10/1929- May 4/2006) After a courageous battle with cancer, Frank S. Brough has left us to join his beloved wife Helen Marjorie (deceased 2003). Together again, to savour the salty breeze of English Bay and abide their time on the downs of Eastbourne. Dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Laura (William and Katrina), son Stephen and grandson Alex ( Mother Michele). Born June 10, 1929 in Montreal, Frank graduated McGill University with a Bachelor of Engineering Sciences. Throughout his career Frank worked at Bell, Northern Electric and BNR, as well as, lending his expertise overseas in Korea, French West Africa and Indonesia. A long time employee of Bell Canada, Life Membership in the Telephone Pioneers of America was conferred upon Frank when he retired early to pursue travel with Helen "the star that guided my life". Together they returned numerous times to England to dance, narrow boat and motorcar though the countryside. Equally, they enjoyed the pacific coast of British Columbia, the company of the Kerrisdale Enthusiastic Walkers and the view of False Creek. Long time residents of Ottawa, Frank and Helen were active members of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, The Canadian Square and Round Dance Society and The Good Companions. In recent years Frank could be found with his son and grandson perfecting the art of spin casting and fly fishing, or supporting his daughters' athletic adventures. MacLEAN, William Mair Bill passed away in Richmond, B.C. on May 8, 2006 after a long battle, bravely fought. Born on August 11, 1917 in Campbellton, N.B., he was the son of the late Donald and Marjorie MacLean. He was a loving and cherished husband for 45 years to his wife Peggy. He is survived by sisters Mary (the late Mal) Rogers, Bathurst, N.B., Jean (Jack) McDonald, Nepean, ON and brother Albert (the late Mary), Moncton, N.B. and by numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by sister Marjorie (the late Norman) Root, and brothers Edward (the late Margaret), Donald, and Hugh. Bill enjoyed his 42-year career with the Royal Bank of Canada. He served as a Fighter Pilot in the RCAF, 1941-45, in the Aleutian and European theatres of war. Bill was a gentle man with a warm smile and an impish sense of humour, who enjoyed a glass of good Scotch and a time of companionship with his family and many close and loyal friends. He lived a long and fulfilling life and will be remembered by those who knew and loved him. Sincerest thanks are extended to the angels at Lions Manor, Richmond Hospital, Nurse Next Door and Minoru Residence, and to our family physicians, Drs. Norman Stanley and Morton David, for their devoted and compassionate care of Bill. McCREARY, Betty (nee Ouellette) Passed away on Monday, April 10, 2006 at the North York General Hospital at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Ivan E. McCreary and sister to the late Lillian Jones. Dear aunt to Lillian, Ronald, Jean, Catherine and Richard Jones of Ottawa and seven nieces and nephews in Toronto and to a dear and long cherished friend Dorothy Jessiman of Stittsville. Devoted husband of Olive May Collins, predeceased 1992. Dearly loved father of Barbara (Steve) Kitzul of North Bay, Brenda (Peter) Kellett of Trenton, Brian (Martha) Fraser of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Linda (Roy) Banister of Stittsville; grandfather of Scott (Ronnie) Kitzul, Angela (Darwin) Neault, Christopher Kellett, Katy, Anne & Paul Fraser, Kevin & Karen Banister; great-grandfather of Brandon & Matthew Neault, and Simon Mahaffy-Kellett; dear friend of Lorelei Jones. Predeceased by parents Annie Rees and Allen Fraser, and brother Robert Fraser. Rees was a lifelong resident of North Bay and worked 46 years at Rahn Metals, retiring in 1979. A member of St. John's parish since 1940, he was a devoted member of the Choir. For the past six years he was a cherished resident of The Empire Living Centre where all enjoyed his card playing, piano performance and cheerful companionship. Rees instilled in his children a very good sense of family values while exhibiting a casual nature. He wrote a diary starting in 1929 which has been a valuable source of family information and genealogical fact over the years. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. ELLIS Leota Dallner 1911 - 2006 Leota (nee Kalbfleisch) passed away peacefully at her home in the Renoir on May 11, 2006 at the age of 94 years. Leota will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her daughter Barbara (Al) Love; grandchildren, Allyson (Mike) Bertamini and David (Michelle) Love; and great-grandchildren, Connor and Colton Bertamini; as well as many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack, in 1996. Leota was born in Didsbury, Alberta on September 4, 1911. At an early age she moved to Three Hills where she met and married Jack Ellis in 1939. They moved to Calgary later that year where she raised her family and remained until her passing. For the last twelve years she lived happily at the Renoir and the family wishes to thank the staff of the Renoir for the care and kind treatment she received especially from "her girls", her very special caregivers. SCHNEIDER Michel Jacques Louis 1930 - 2006 Michel has gone sailing. He got the favoured end of the start line on May 9, when he sailed off into clear air. He leaves his wife Patricia at the helm along with her able crew including sons, Marc (Nancy Smith) and Craig (Juliette Couture); grandchildren, Claire, Xaviere, Stephanie and Marcel; sister-in-law Doreen Huntington and her sons, Guy (Leesa Alldred) and Brad (Angela). Michel introduced the family to his passion for the wind and the waves as children at Seba Beach on Wabamum Lake where they were active members of the Edmonton Yacht Club and the Northern Alberta Sailing College. When not at the helm of Lucie, Michel could be found at the Alliance Francaise d'Edmonton where he enjoyed sharing his cultural linguistic heritage with their members of the international French community. Michel came to Canada in 1953 on a NATO assignment with the French Air Force when he met Patricia at a military dance in Calgary where he was dressed in disguise as a civilian. Following completion of his military service in France, Michel returned to Calgary where they were married. He continued to work in telecommunications with Telus (formerly AGT) first in Calgary and later in Edmonton. His family in France includes his brother Gerard and nieces, Catherine (Michel Buchs) and Florence (Gilles Cohendet) and nephew Franck (Christine), as well as their children. MORISON Margaret Theresa 1917 - 2006 Margaret Morison passed away peacefully on May 11, 2006 at her home in Airdrie at the age of 89 years. Margaret was born on January 18, 1917, the eldest of three children and raised on the Bussey family farm east of Airdrie. She attended Glen Leven School and finished her High School in Calgary and later attended Calgary Normal School where she obtained her teaching certificate. Her first teaching post was at Adams Lake School at Hussar. She later came to teach at Big Springs School west of Airdrie in September 1938. Margaret met Glen Morison and they married in 1939. She lived on the farm for sixty-four years until 2003 when she moved to Fletcher Village in Airdrie where she made many friends and acquaintances. Margaret was devoted to her family, her loving God and her friends. Margaret will be remembered and dearly missed by her son Stuart Morison; twin daughters, Carol (Earle) Whittaker and Christie Morison; brother James (Jessie) Bussey; sisters, Wilda Pugh and Judy Bussey. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kim (Bill) Rose of Minneapolis, Ann (Samir) Chehade, Dean Morison, Tara Whittaker, Colin (Terri) Whittaker in the Philippines; and seven great-grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Glen Morison; parents, Louis and Lena Bussey and sister-in-law Muriel Morison. MORRIS, Olive E. May 1, 1907 - May 7, 2006 Olive Evelyn Morris (nee Staniland) died peacefully on May 7, 2006 in Ottawa after just celebrating her 99th birthday on May 1st, with her three children. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Stuart Brooke Morris (January 12, 1994) whom she married on October 27th, 1928 in Hamilton, Ontario. Olive gew up in Hamilton, studied piano, achieving her ATCM from Toronto Conservatory of Music and later graduated from Hamilton Normal School. Her married life took her to New Liskard, London, and finally to Ottawa. She led a busy life in Ottawa raising three children, being active in musical circles (a long time member of the Parkdale United Church Orchestra) and playing in many social bridge clubs. As well, she loved to dance, fish, and watch sports, particularly football and baseball. Olive is survived by her three children, Beverly (Lloyd Hargrove) of Vancouver, Bill (Dian Jackson) of Ottawa and Gail (John Pritchard) of Ottawa. She has 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a niece and several nephews. The family thanks Central Park Lodge for their care during her 8 years there. WILLIAMS, Arthur Victor (1916 - 2006) On 11 of May 2006, Vic Williams peacefully passed on in his 90th year at the Hawkesbury General Hospital in Eastern Ontario. Born in Abertillery, Wales on 27 December 1916 to John Arthur and Winnifred May (nee Marshall), Vic was the eldest of four brothers: Cyril (Valmai), Gordon (Mary), and Desmond (Sheila). Beloved husband to Joan Elizabeth (nee Pavitt) of 62 years and a devoted father to Roger (Elizabeth), Peter (Gladys), Patricia, and Stephen (Janyne). He was a loving grandfather to Jonathan, Nicholas, Jodee, Sean, Marc, Matthew, Julia, Jennifer, Brendan, Jack, and Grace as well as a great-grandfather to Ieuan, Catrin, Clayton, and Bailee. Vic emigrated to Canada with his young family in 1952. The family settled in Ottawa where he became involved with many community organizations. Bethany Baptist Church was a focus of family activities for many years. Vic was a long-standing member of the Acacia (561) Masonic Lodge. He was proud of his heritage and a member of the Ottawa Welsh Society. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 15th, 2:00 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church, 382 Centrepointe Drive in Ottawa. As a youth, Ted enjoyed Boy Scouts, and was one of the first Queen Scouts in Calgary. He was a keen golfer, fisherman and reader of Science Fiction. Ted was a dedicated chartered accountant, and worked in Calgary, England and Australia before opening his own office in Victoria over twenty-five years ago. He was proud to be a Mason, and campaigned to raise funds for their burn hospitals. Ted was predeceased by his loving and loved mother, Elizabeth W. Perrin. Ted will be missed by his family, friends, and the many clients whom he helped over the years. A Wake will be held to celebrate Ted's life. Ted's family extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Memorial Pavilion Hospital for their care and kindnesses. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Lovingly remembered by Bernice's family, Catherine Murphy, Michael and Sheila Dwyer, Margaret Stafford, Rita and Don Smith, Frank Coughlan and his late wife Bernice, Mary and Francis Valliquette, John and Darlene Dwyer, Terry and Lyne Dwyer, Frank and Debbie Dwyer, and the late Edward Dwyer.
