BAILEY HAWLEY, Mme Jean Rose Beatrice 1923 - 2006 À l'hôpital Brome Missisquoi Perkins de Cowansville, le 6 mai 2006, après une courte maladie, est décédée en toute sérénité à l'âge de 83 ans, Mme Jean R.B. Hawley, née Bailey, épouse bien-aimée de feu John G.S. Hawley Sr, demeurant à Sutton. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses 9 en-fants, 16 petits-enfants et 3 arrière-petits-enfants, ainsi que son frère. CRAIG, Donald Stewart - Passed away, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 11th, 2006 at the St. Catharines General Hospital in his 80th year. Donald was born and lived all his life on Maplecrest Avenue in Merritton. He was predeceased by his parents Matthew and Edith (Joyce) Craig and a brother Matthew. Dear brother of Jack (Jean) Craig, Betty (late Jim) Norton of Thorold, Sheila (Fred) Marlow of Simcoe and Dr. David (Linda) Craig of Henderson, Texas. He will also be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, who will always remember their beloved uncle Donald. Donald was a Veteran of WWII, serving with the Canadian Infantry Corps and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 138, Merritton. He was employed as a Letter Carrier for Canada Post for many years. Joyce Mabie 1937 - 2006 CAMPBELLTON, NB - On May 10, 2006 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, Mrs. Joyce Mabie, of 49 Highland Drive, Tide Head, wife of the late Jack Mabie (1st husband) and the late Robert Chamberlain (2nd husband) passed away at the age of 68. Born in Matapedia, QC on August 26th, 1937, she is the daughter of the late Herdman MacCullum and the late Elizabeth McDavid. Born at Spa Springs, Annapolis Valley, NS, she was the daughter of the late Edwin J. and Minnie Ethel (Bolser) Tucker. Her daughter Eleanor P. Downey predeceased her. LANGLAIS, JOSEPH RAOUL - On Thursday May 11, 2006, after a courageous battle, Joseph Raoul Langlais (London, Ontario) in his 76th year, quietly went home to the Lord to join his beloved wife Jean (2002). His children, family and friends will sadly miss Joe. ARMSTRONG, Captain J.W. (Jack), MBE, CD, MID (Retired RCASC) - Peacefully, at Ottawa General Hospital on Friday, May 12, 2006. Jack was born in Barrie, Ont. Feb. 7, 1915, son of the late William Arthur Armstrong and his wife the former Bertha Mae Brown, step son of the late Charles Stewart. He retired from the Canadian Army after 29 years serving in Canada, United Kingdom and North West Europe. Jack participated in the Dieppe raid, a memory that never left him. During his six years overseas he was awarded the MBE and was Mentioned - in- Despatches for service in North West Europe. He began his Military career in May 1931 as a Boy Soldier with the 1st Field Brigade, Ottawa and retired in 1966 from Eastern Ontario Area Headquarters in Kingston. After retirement from the military he was employed by Queens University as Administrative Assistant, Student Health Service for ten years. Jack was an ardent out-door enthusiast and spent many years fishing and hunting. He was an active curler at Kingston Garrison Curling Club. Jack was the husband of the Late Ruby (Way) and is survived by his children Charles (Barbara) Ottawa, John (Marilyn) Kingston, Cynthia (Dennis) Ingersoll and Robert, (Smoky Lake, Alberta) and Grandfather of Scott (Christine) Ottawa, Jocelyn (Christopher) Montreal, Phillip and Eric, Kingston. For the past 5 years Jack has lived in Ottawa at the Colonel By Retirement Residence and the family would like to thank the staff for the care and friendship they have provided. The family thanks the staff of the General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital's emergency Room, ICU and Neurology team on the 6th floor. Your thoughtfulness was sincerely appreciated. At Jack's request there will be a private service, followed by cremation. Inurnment at Barrie Union Cemetery at a later date. WALSH, Dorsett. On May 7, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Jane (nee Kirkpatrick) and his sister, Honore of Stowe, Vermont. Dorsett was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 15, 1928 but his family immediately moved to Montreal, where he grew up in Hampstead. At the age of seventeen he joined the United States Navy and in 1957 he joined the aircraft industry on Long Island. In 1962, he returned to Montreal. Dorsett was a YMCA member for nearly 40 years and was one of the first joggers. The Royal Montreal Curling Club was also a very important part of his life. He moved to West Vancouver in 1978. The family would like to thank everyone at the West Vancouver Care Centre for their compassionate care for the last several years. We could not have had better care for him. WHISSELL Dr. Georges Lionel September 5, 1907 - May 9, 2006 Dr. Georges Whissell of Westlock, AB passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the age of 98 years. He leaves to mourn, five children, Marlene (Archie Gale) of Edmonton, Bookie of Edmonton, Ronald (Bonnie) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Brian (Rita) of Calgary and Elaine (Ron) Chrapko of St. Albert, along with sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Dalma and Marie-Louise; his wife, Nellie; his companion, Francine; his two brothers, Frank and Ernest; and his sister, Odette. Born in St. Andre Avellin, Quebec on September 5, 1907, he graduated in Medicine from the University of Montreal in 1932 and completed his post-graduate work prior to first practicing on Anticosti Island, Quebec. In 1939, he ventured west with his wife and young family. He was a skilled Physician and Surgeon who practiced in the Westlock area for fifty-five years. A devoted and compassionate Doctor, he earned the respect and admiration of his patients and the medical staff who worked alongside him. He displayed a strong work ethic; he was a farmer, an entrepreneur and a very active member in the community serving on many boards. He was an avid skier, pilot and bridge player, playing bridge competitively into his ninety-seventh year. He loved to travel and enjoyed visiting many parts of the world. He especially enjoyed his time spent at Lake Wakomao working on his tower and many projects. For those he left behind, there will be a void in their hearts but a bounty of wonderful memories. Dad touched his children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives in many ways. In our hearts he will always stay, loved and remembered everyday. We will miss him but he is now at peace. The family wish to extend their sincere thanks to his caregivers, Richelle San Miguel and Aileen Fong for their tireless efforts in providing loving care to our father during his last years. We also thank Aspen Community Health Care staff (Shirley Henderson, Esther Hilliard, and Sherry Budgen); Dr. Stuart Jamieson and the Westlock Health Care Centre for their support. DUFFLEY - the death of Bernard J. Duffley of Golden Grove occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 11, 2006, the result of complications from a motor vehicle accident. Bernard was born in Golden Grove on September 4, 1923, a son of the late George and Ellen (Quinn) Duffley. Bernard retired from Air Canada in 1983 after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a long time parishioner of St. Ann's Church, where he served for many years as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, and gentleman altar server. In his younger years, Bern loved to sing and took part in operettas and choirs. Bern loved the outdoors: fishing, hunting, gardening, and time spent in Flume Ridge at the family camp. He was predeceased by an infant son, John George; and an infant grandson, Craig Davidson. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Margaret "Peggy" (Woodruff) Duffley; two sons, Patrick of Sillery, Quebec, and Robert (Heather) of Rothesay; two daughters, Mary Ellen Davidson (Brian) of St. Martin's, and Judith Beers of Saint John; one brother, Philip Duffley of Golden Grove; two sisters, Helen Barrett of Coquitlam, B.C., and Sister Theresa Duffley S.O.S. of Halifax; ten grandchildren, Stewart, Robert, Scott, and Clinton Davidson, Melody, Matthew, Lindsay, and Alex Beers; and Luke and James Duffley; and several nieces and nephews. CLARKE Winston John Winston John Clarke died suddenly on Saturday, May 6, 2006 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in his 64th year of life. Survived by his loving family and friends: son Kevin, son Noel and daughter-in-law Laura; grandpa of Abigail and Declan; ex-wife Lorraine (nee DuPlessis). A hard-working man until the end, "instantly likeable", who lived life on his own terms. In his words, he was here "for a GOOD time, not a LONG time - Where's the party?"

DONOGHUE H. Graham Graham Donoghue, P.Eng. died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the Calgary Chinook Hospice. He was the loving and beloved husband of Jacqueline with whom he shared adventures, joy, sadness and laughter; Proud father of Barbara (Stef Vavalidis) and the late Lynn Donoghue; caring grandfather of Alexander and Philip Vavalidis and Luca Langiano; good friend to Jacqueline's daughters, Lisa Koepke (Mark, Jackson and Sophia) and Nancy Dunckel (Tim Meile). He also leaves his brothers-in-law, Wm. Royds and Charles Nowlin (Vernice), as well as extended family in Calgary, Ontario and B.C. Graham was predeceased by his brother William and his sister Madeleine. Graham was a gentleman of honesty, integrity, bravery, good manners and curiosity. He was born January 27, 1926 in Ottawa to Wm. B. Donoghue and Helen Graham Donoghue. Upon graduation from St. Andrew's College, Aurora, ON, Graham joined the RCAF becoming a Flying Officer at the age of nineteen. He was forever captivated by flying and flight. In 1950 he graduated in Engineering (mining) from the University of Toronto where he made lifelong friends. Graham had a fulfilling and rewarding career in mining, construction and in the design, manufacture and sales of heavy equipment serving as president of companies in Calgary and Denver. He was a life member of APPEGA, Past President of The Canadian Association of Equipment Distributors (CAED Ottawa) and Vice President of AED (Chicago). Graham was an honourary member (Paul Harris Fellow) of the Calgary Rotary Club and a member of the Glencoe Club. Graham was able to pursue his avocations, flying, sailing and skiing until cancer became his unwelcome companion. He was still flying solo at seventy, went around the world on a container ship at seventy-four and skied with his "buddies" until he was seventy-seven. Cremation has taken place. At Graham's request there will be no Service. Interment will take place in the family plot in Burritt's Rapids, ON. Those wishing to remember Graham may donate to the charity of their choice. At last, you are free to fly.
