Also survived by daughter-in-law Patricia Bader, thirty- three grandchildren and fifty-five great grandchildren. BARICH, Teresa Sophia January 7, 1961-April 18, 2006 We are devastated to announce the unexpected death of Teresa on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Heart Institute. Teresa passed away emotionally supported by her partner Emma and Teresa's sisters Monica and Phyllis. She was continuously held in the prayers and thoughts of her family, friends, hospital staff and colleagues near and far, while at the Heart Institute. Teresa will always be cherished by her partner Emma Brummelhuis and sisters Phyllis (Helmut), Pat (John), Monica (Murray), Rebecca (Dennis), her sister-in-law Shelley, her brothers Steve (Anna May) and George. She was proud to be a special Aunt to Sean, Peter, Julie, Elizabeth and Cara. She will be missed by her Alberta family-Cory, John, Tony, Petra, Wesley, Stuart, Leah, Ellen, Harold, Dennis, Colin, Jan, Susanne, Miriam; Aunt Alice and numerous cousins in Scotland; Aunts, Uncles and cousins in Sault Ste. PATRICK Mary-Lou 1926 - 2006 Mary-Lou Patrick of Calgary passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2006, after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease, at the age of 79 years. Mary-Lou, a graduate of Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing, spent most of her career as a nurse at Toronto Sick Children's Hospital. Mary-Lou is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Adrienne and Doug Sample and two grandchildren, Kara and Trent, all of Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband Leslie in 1998. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Glenmore Park Auxiliary Hospital and Beverly Centre Lake Midnapore - Sundance Unit for their care and compassion. CORDASCO, Tomasina (Sina) 1909 - 2006 À Montréal, à la Résidence Angelica, le lundi 17 avril 2006, à l'âge de 96 ans, est décédée paisiblement Tomasina (Sina) Cordasco. Sa vie fut un accomplissement incessant et reconnu par La Fondation du coeur, la Société du cancer et plusieurs organismes charitables. Elle fut un membre actif au sein de sa paroisse à l'église Notre-Dame-de-la-Défense en tant que marguillier pendant plusieurs années. Présidente des Filles d'Isabelle, elle se dévoua sans relâche auprès des malades qu'elle visitait dans les hôpitaux et tout particulièrement les enfants durant la période des Fêtes, elle redonnait espoir et amour à tous. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses nièces Gloria (Gerald) Mastromatteo et Rita (Ralph) Mastromonaco, son neveu Carlo (Marlies) Perno. ainsi que ses sept petits-neveux et nièces et ses cinq arrière-petits-neveux et nièces. HOLEHA Harold Michael September 5, 1913 - April 16, 2006 Harold Holeha was born September 5, 1913 in Zvenigorodka, Ukraine to parents, Maria Kislanko and Harisha Holeha. After becoming an orphan at a young age, and witnessing the political instability of his native country, he and his brother Walter decided to immigrate to Canada and start a new life. On October 19, 1928,they set sail on the Montrose, arriving in Montreal, Canada. Harold and Walter traveled to Consul, Saskatchewan, where they worked on the farm of their Uncle John Kislanko for three years. During that time, Harold met the love of his life, Vera Syverson, whom he married on September 24, 1940. They lived briefly in Vancouver, before purchasing a farm in Rolling Hills, Alberta in 1949. In 1961, Harold and Vera moved to Brooks, Alberta, where they lived at home together until his passing. Harold worked briefly in a lumberyard, built three homes in Brooks, including his own, and lay carpet in many more. He was a dedicated member of The Order of the Eastern Star, The Masonic Order and The Shriners. As a result, Vera and Harold had the opportunity to travel together and see the world. Harold was also a proud member of the Brooks Town Council, where he contributed greatly to the betterment of the community. Harold's mission in life was to provide well for his family, and anyone else who came into his home. Food, and plenty of it, was the rule. He was a generous, honest and dedicated man with a sense of humor that made those around him smile, even when he was administering them a thorough "skunking" in crib. Crib and playing cards was big with Harold. His grandchildren were taught to play at an early age, and enjoyed playing against grandpa through the years. The evening prior to his passing, he played his last game with his daughter Iona, and as usual, won. He pegged out and then a few hours later, Harold quietly "Pegged Out". Harold is survived and remembered by his wife of sixty-five years, Vera; his daughters, Iona Moore of Campbell River, BC and Marilyn (Paul) Kieran of Sherwood Park, AB; four grandchildren, Chad Moore (Janna) of Calgary, Jana Moore of Ottawa, Gerry (Paul) O'Riordan of Edmonton, and Dan (Maureen) Kieran of Sidney, Australia; four great-grandchildren, Emma and Declan O'Riordan, and Seamus and Grayson Kieran. He was predeceased by his brother Walter Holeha of Maple Creek, SK and his furry friend Motley. A Private Family Service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2006 in Brooks, AB. den Boer Marcela Jakoba (nee Kohoutkova) 1946 - 2006 Marcela Jakoba den Boer, beloved wife of Lennert den Boer of Calgary, passed away on April 18, 2006, after a two-year battle with lung cancer. Marcela and her first husband came to Canada in 1968, before the Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia. She worked for ten years as an organist at Riverview United Church, where she met her future husband Lennert. They were married in 1988. Marcela and Lennert spent eleven years in England, where Marcela worked as a teacher at Hampton Infants School, and also as an organist at a local church. They returned to Canada in 2001. Marcela and Lennert were very happy in their life together. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Marcela is remembered by her loving husband and children, Andrea Dvorak, Leanne and Megan den Boer. She is also survived by her brother Vaclav Kohoutek and his family in the Czech Republic; father and mother-in-law, Hans and Helen den Boer; close friend Penny Bridgeland of England; as well as many other friends in England and the Czech Republic. Régean Gaétan Labrecque Passed away on / Décédé(e) le April 13, 2006 Nous regrettons d'annoncer le décès de Régean Gaétan Labrecque le jeudi 13 avril 2006 à l'Hôpital Sensenbrenner de Kapuskasing à l'âge de 74 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil 3 filles: Georgette Prevost de Cochrane; Hélène Laflamme épouse de Raymond de Gatineau; Andrée Delisle épouse de Gaston de Tillsonburg; 1 fils Jean-Marc époux de Lise de Foleyet; 2 soeurs: Louisette Gendron de Kapuskasing; Yollande Ratté de Fauquier ainsi que 9 petits-enfants et 14 arrière-petits-enfants. Il fut prédécédé par son épouse Jeanne D'Arc et 1 frère Jean-Guy Labrecque. He was 74 years old. Born on Feb. 21, 1932 in Lasarre, Abitibi, Quebec, Mr. Labrecque worked as a foreman in the pulp and paper industry. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Fauquier Snowmobile Club, who enjoyed snowmobiling and going to a casino on occasion. He was predeceased by his wife Jeanne D’Arc and one brother Jean-Guy Labrecque. Mr. Labrecque is survived by three daughters, Georgette Prevost of Cochrane, Hélène (Raymond) Laflamme of Gatineau, Quebec, and Andrée (Gaston) Delisle of Tillsonburg; son Jean-Marc (Lise) Labrecque of Foleyet; sisters Louisette Gendron of Kapuskasing, and Yollande Ratté of Fauquier; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Fr. Jean Morin conducts funeral services today (April 19) at St. Agnes Church starting at 10:30 a.m. Mr. Labrecque will be cremated at the Hillcrest Crematorium in Matheson. STARK Elizabeth (Betty) Edna (nee Fachet) June 20, 1936 - April 17, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Stark announce the passing of this wonderful woman. Betty passed away peacefully in Victoria, B.C., surrounded by her family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her husband of forty-seven years, Tom; her sister Helen MacDonald and brother-in-law Don MacDonald; her daughter Leslee Ferguson and son-in-law Keith Ferguson; her twin sons, Greg and Grant, along with their wives, Wendy and Janet; and her two grandchildren, Heidi and Graham. She is predeceased by her parents, Fred and Josephine Fachet, and her younger sister Kathy Lien. Betty was a caring person whose talents and passions included her garden along with all of the animals that would come to visit, both feathered and furry. She sewed cushions for the First Open Heart Society and loved to entertain friends and family as well as travel. Her greatest love and devotion was for her family. In honoring Betty's wishes, there will be no Funeral Service, but a celebration of life memorial will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. COOKSLEY William (Bill) April 7, 2006, age 79, treasured father of Craig Cooksley, Dawn Cooksley, and Dian Steele (Dee); much-loved grandfather of Shane Cooksley, Howard Comstock, Fred Steele, Naomi Steele, Luralie and Kim Cooksley, Leandrah and Craig Severson; and great-grandfather of Envie Severson. Also survived by his siblings, Betty Gillrie, Shirley Gammon, Ruth Rottacker and Fred Cooksley and his wife Bette. Predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Doreen (Mickey), September 1984, and daughter Fern, and parents, Mattie and Alfred. Bill was very involved with the Royal Canadian Legion since 1952. He truly believed in being of service to his community and to all people. He was recognized by his Legion Branch 275 for the poppy campaigns, Christmas hamper, the group home etc. and received all the service awards possible - Life Membership, Meritorious Service Medal, Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Medal and a Palm Leaf, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Heart and Stroke, elementary school reading programs, Calgary Social Services Assistance, and a proud recipient of the Community Service Award for the City of Calgary in 1996. A celebration of Bill Cooksley's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 275, 755 - 40 Street S.E. on April 22 between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Any donations to be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.

BURTON, Ann (Shubert/Rubenstein). It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann (Shubert/Rubenstein) Burton, in San Diego, California on March 29, 2006. Ann will be missed by her husband of 22 years, Bud Burton, her son and daughter Gary and Donna Rubenstein, daughter-in-law Jennifer, her loving grandchildren Lena and Hannah, her brother Alec, her sister Beatrice and many friends and relatives across North America. Ann grew up in Montreal and was a dedicated teacher for over 30 years. She married Bud in 1974 and moved to California. Throughout her life, Ann was a determined and gentle person, and touched many people from all walks of life. She inspired people to be better and her memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. NENTWICH, Franz Josef 1921 - 2006 Peacefully, in his sleep, at the Glebe Centre, on Wednesday, April 19th, 2006. Born in Zoellnei, Sudetenland, Franz was blessed with a keen sense of humour and a love of life. He was a master machinist and spent the war working for Siemens in Berlin. He survived the bombing and prison camps in the East. He escaped to the West and worked for the British Army and Ruhr Stahl until immigrating to Canada with his family in 1954. He worked for the City of Ottawa until he retired in 1986. He will be greatly missed by his sons Heinz Josef (Clairellen) and Franz Werner. He is predeceased by his wife Anna, his parents Marie and Franz, and his brother Josef. Very special thanks to all the staff at the Glebe Centre where Franz had happily resided for the last year. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Sunday, April 23 from 2-5 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, April 24, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery. MAXWELL, Joan (nee Murray) Wife of the late George Maxwell. Joan died peacefully at home April 19, 2006 at the age of 70 years. Joan is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Dave Corkery and Joy and Ron Edgeley, as well as her four wonderful grandsons, Scott and Grant Corkery and Brayden and Bryan Edgeley. She is also survived by her brothers George (Hilda), Burleigh (Carol) and her sisters Edna (Harry) and Linda. Joan was predeceased by her parents Wilbert and Ione, her brothers Joe, Roy and Jim and sister Lois. Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. L. Coulombe.
