FAIRWEATHER, LEE ANDREW The death of Lee Andrew Fairweather of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Lorraine (Stanley) Fairweather, occurred on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB a son of the late Paxton and Ada (Cooke) Fairweather. Lee was a veteran of World War II, having served in England, France, Belgium and Holland and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Fredericton Branch # 4. He was an avid bowler for many years and he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the "wood lot". Survived by two sons: Lyndon (Sheila) of Fredericton and Wayman of Collingwood, ON; a daughter, Eva Norman of Vernon, BC; three brothers: Glen of Saint John West, Ken of Florida and Ralph (Muriel) of California; three sisters: Elsie (Richard "Buzz") Wayne, Ruth Shaw and Doreen Ducey, all of Saint John; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, his wife and a brother, Raymond. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Rd, Fredericton from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, a Tribute to a Veteran Service will be held at 7 pm. HEPBURN, STANLEY JOHN "JACK" The passing of Stanley John "Jack" Hepburn, husband for 63 years of Marion (Ready) Hepburn, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on March 12, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 8, 1921 in Manitoba, he was a son of the late Robert and Mae (Watson) Hepburn. Jack retired from the Civil Service in McGivney and Oromocto, NB. He was a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 80 "Beaverbrook" and of the Nashwaaksis Lions Club. He was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Barbara Campbell (Alan) of Ottawa, ON, Nancy Fournier (John) of Moncton, NB, Janice Macaulay (Darrell) of Hillsborough, NB, Kathy Moorcraft (Danny) of Calgary, AB; one son, Terrance Hepburn of Edmonton, AB; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; one brother, Earl Hepburn (Sonia) of Toronto, ON; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Roy Hepburn and one sister, Elsie James. MANNETTE, CHARLES On March 10, 2006 Douglas Charles Mannette of Quispamsis, NB passed away unexpectedly in the loving arms of his wife Barbara of 36 years. He was born July 5, 1947 in Oromocto, NB. Doug was a dedicated Father to Karen (Khalid) and Kathy (Doug). He was a loving brother to Raymond and Anne (Jim) and a proud Papa to his three grandchildren, the apples of his eye Meredith (4), Benjamin (2) and Khadigah (2). He was a devoted son to Irene and son in law to Mary Patricia Hazlewood, and was predeceased by his father Charles. Doug was loved and respected by his in laws, several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends. Doug was employed with the NB Telephone Company, Xerox Canada and the Canadian Red Cross Society. For the past 12 years, Doug has been a successful entrepreneur, owning ATHENA, The Art and Framing Store, in McAllister Place Mall. Among his many accomplishments, he was a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol, The Atlantic Health Science Corporation Board of Directors and was involved with many volunteer organizations. Recently retired, Doug and Barb were enjoying many happy moments in their condo in Largo, Florida. Doug enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a funny, smart, caring and compassionate man. Kenneth (Ken) H. Crossman STEEVES MOUNTAIN, NB - Ken Crossman, 87, of Steeves Mountain passed away at The Moncton City Hospital on Sunday, March 12, 2006. Born in Steeves Mountain, he was the son of the late Howard and Hazel Crossman. Ken was a Veteran of WW2; he served in the Royal Canadian Army. He retired from the Co-Op as a security guard. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Jessica (Jessie); and his son, Gary of Steeves Mountain. He is also survived by his sister, Maggy Murray; and many nieces and nephews. As well as his parents, Ken was predeceased by a son, Albert; and his daughter, Phyllis. Visitation will be held from the Salisbury Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Florida Geneva Leblanc (Nee Leblanc) WINNIPEG, MB - Florida passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 81 on Saturday, March 11, 2006. She is survived by her five daughters, Julianne, Cécile, Jeannette, Noëlla and Lucie; son, Louis; brothers, Henry, Valerie, Edwin; sister, Leona; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Lucie and Eddie; her husband, Adrice; her oldest daughter Gilberte; brothers, Joseph, Emile, Gilbert and sisters Albertine and Alma. Florida was born on August 2, 1924, in Shediac, New Brunswick, married Adrice Leblanc at the age of 25 and after her husband passed away in 1983, she joined her children in Winnipeg. Florida was very easy going, friendly to everyone and loved to laugh. She loved knitting and sewing, especially making quilts. Florida worked hard all her life and her strong faith in God helped her through hard times. She will be sadly missed. Lorraine E. Smith 1945 - 2006 SAINT PHILIPPE, NB - Lorraine Edith Smith of Saint Philippe, NB passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the age of 60. Born in Saint John, NB on April 26, 1945, she was the daughter of the late George Bernard Hickey and Edith Arlene Hickey (Mitchell). Lorraine had a passion to help others and such a zest for life. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Garnet Smith; her two daughters, Diane (Leon) Gallant and Jacqueline Smith; and her four wonderful grandchildren, Ashley, Naketah, Markus and Jesse who she admired deeply. She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Elaine Smith; and her brother, Daryl Hickey. Lorraine is also survived by three sisters, Wanda (Richard) Letson, Mary (Joe) Mazerolle and Brenda (Peter) Ernst; and her two brothers, Paul (Ann) Hickey, Raymond (Ann) Hickey; and sister-in-law Susan Hickey, the wife of the late Daryl Hickey. Clifford N. Tinkham Clifford N. Tinkham, 87, of Riverview, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Monday, March 13, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Born in Yarmouth, NS, son of the late Fred and Eva (Crowell) Tinkham. Clifford was a retired Truck Driver, a member of the NS Fish and Game Assoc. and an honorary member of the Yarmouth Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Vern was president of Riverview Ysmen in Sydney River, and was also actively involved as a member of the CPTA Executive for more than 25 years. Vern also coached boys and girls amateur baseball and softball in Nova Scotia and Merritton for over 30 years. He will be missed by the members of St. Thomas Aquinas, particularly the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Friends will be received at the PATRICK J.
