MARGARET A. GRAVEL BURLINGTON — Margaret A. Gravel died Christmas day at the age of 97. Until recent years, Margaret lived all of her life on St. Louis Street. In recent years she was cared for in Birchwood Terrace Healthcare. She was born on Sept. 1, 1908, in Burlington, daugh-ter of Albert and Eva (LaTulippe) Gravel. Margaret was a member of St. Joseph's parish. Surviving Margaret are her brother, William Gravel; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Gravel; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, in St. Joseph's CoCathedral with interment following in Old Mount Calvary Cemetery, Archibald Street. The family and close friends will gather in the ElmwoodMeunier Funeral Home, 97 Elmwood Ave., at 10 a.m. on Thursday for a prayer service.

BARRIE, B. Katharine (Kay) In hospital, Perth on Saturday, December 24, 2005 Kay (Geddes) Barrie in her 94th year. Kay was predeceased in 1972 by her beloved husband of thirty-six years. Rankin Barrie, also predeceased by her brothers James Geddes and Ralph Geddes and sister Hilda Geddes. She was the dearly loved mother of her three children, Jean K. Kelly, John and his wife Margaret Barrie and Jim and his wife Judy Barrie all of Perth. She was the respected grandmother of Janet Barrie and her husband Robert Garland, Angela and Robin Barrie and Shawn Kelly. She will be missed by her great-grandchildren Riley and Jordan Steenson. Kay is survived by one sister, Eileen Robinson. Kay was the daughter of the late John A. and Blanche Geddes of Snow Road. She had resided in Perth since 1939. She will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, family and many good friends. Kay had been an active member for over sixty years of both St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and the Perth Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. PATON, Peter Allan Peter Allan Paton, 69, Ardness, NS, formerly of Ottawa and Hamilton, ON, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2005 in the Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow, NS. Born in Hamilton, he was a son of the late Peter and Ethel (Crosthwaite) Paton. Prior to retiring in 1993, he was a Systems Analyst with the Department of Employment and Immigration. Peter was Past High Commissioner of Clan Donald Canada, Past Membership Chair of Clan Donald Nova Scotia and Past Branch Commissioner of Clan Donald Pictou County. He cherished his extended Scottish family and greatly enjoyed a variety of music. Peter was a loving husband, father and grandfather. WURTS, Gordon Veteran WWII In hospital, on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, 2005, aged 94, after a short illness. Beloved husband of Jean Margaret for 59 years. Loved father to Stephen (Saint John, N.B.) and Brian (Toronto). Grandfather to Corey, Derek, Sara, Amanda and Katie. Also loved by daughters-in-law Velda, and Tamara. Gord Wurts lived a long and full life. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1938 and served as a Lieutenant in the Navy during WWII. He had numerous positions as a professional engineer, moving to Shawinigan, Quebec in 1957, where he and his family lived for 22 years. At age 56, he obtained a teaching diploma, and began a new career as a teacher and subsequently as the principal at the Shawinigan High School, retiring and moving to Ottawa in 1979 at age 68. Apart from family, golf was his passion. He began to play at age 14 in 1925, and was a top amateur golfer, making 5 holes-in-one over his lifetime, and unbelievably, shot his age or better over 500 times. In his 80's and early 90's, he was a regular at the Champlain Golf Course playing and walking the course 3 times a week with friends Reg and Roy. He also was a regular member of a Seniors Snooker League each winter. Until the last hour of his life he was still joking with the nursing staff at the hospital. Friends may join us for a visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 235 Kent Street, on Wednesday, December 28, from 10 a.m. until noon, followed by a Celebration of Life in the Chapel. ROCHESTER — Robert A. "Bob" Bisson, 57, of 34 Stillwater Circle, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover following a long battle with cancer.Bob was born Jan. 2, 1948, in Rochester, N.H., he was the son of Joseph and Cecile (Mercier) Bisson. He was educated in Somersworth schools, graduating from Somersworth High School, Class of 1966.He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving two tours of duty.He had been employed at Davidson-Textron for 25 years and later as a consultant at Tyco-Simplex.He enjoyed his home and family. BOUDREAUX, Luke, Jr. "Blackie", 86 of Brandon, went to the Lord on December 24, 2005 while at Hospice House in Sun City Center. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsie Boudreaux in June of 2004. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, having served honorably in the American Theater, Asiatic Pacific and the Philippine Liberation. He was born in Palmetto, Louisiana and after the duration of the war, was a Roughneck Roustabout who took crews and shot oil wells in the oil fields in the Gulf out of Grand Isle, Louisiana. He moved his family to Tampa in 1960 where he was a Journeyman at Local 397, and eventually retired as iron worker/ steel erector. He is survived by four children and their spouses: Ron and Bert Ann Boudreaux of Brandon; Jim and Linda Boudreaux of Slidell, Louisiana; Larry and Kay Boudreaux of Magnolia, Arkansas; and Cathy and Bob Tagliarini of Plant City. He is also survived by his constant companion and fiance, Janie Money, who stayed at his side until he went to the Lo rd. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brandon, who practiced what he believed and was a moral and religious man of strong faith. "The light in his eyes were always for his children, grandchildren (10), and great grandchildren (19), as well as for Janie. My father was the most kind, gentle and honorable man I have ever known, with a rascal sense of humor which was with him up until his final days. He never met a person whom he didn't like and his kindness to others was without fault. All of his children are better people and parents because of him as our teacher in life." A memorial service has been scheduled for Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Lifenet Baptist Fellowship, 1204 S. CLIFTON PARK, NY -- Rose Anita Holohan, 84, of the Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care Center and former Ballston Lake resident died on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at her residence after a long illness. She was born on January 2, 1921 in Graylock, Mass. and was the daughter of the late Wilfrid and Clara Aubin Ducharme. She was the salutatorian of the graduating class of 1937 at Waterford High School, having graduated at the age of 16. She received an academic scholarship to the College of St. Rose. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Bud Peter Holohan, whom she married on August 31, 1941. While her husband was serving with the United States Army in the European Theatre, Rose Anita worked for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady as a dispatcher. Following this, she and her husband owned and operated the Round Lake Meat Market from 1961-1965. She retired from the New York State Department of Tax and Finance in Albany as a statistics clerk having worked there for about 20 years. She had been an active member of the Round Lake Fire Company. She served as president of the ladies auxiliary and held many other positions within the company. She was a member of the Malta Seniors, a communicant of Corpus Christi Church and was an accomplished piano player. Mrs. Holohan was the devoted mother of Francis P. (Joan) Holohan of Ballston Lake, Edward J. (Jennifer) of Saratoga, Michael J. Holohan of Rensselaer, Judith A. Cromer of Ballston Lake, Linda C. Landrigan of Clifton Park, Timothy P. (Eileen) Holohan of Clifton Park, Joseph Holohan of Ft. Worth, Texas, Vivian F. Holohan of Colchester, Conn., Terrence W. Holohan of Altamont and Lawrence D. Holohan of Canajoharie; sister of the late Gerald Ducharme; former mother-in-law of Margaret Holohan, Joseph Landrigan and Nancy Thompson; also survived by 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to express a special gratitude to the staff at Schuyler Ridge for their loving care. Funeral will be held Friday morning at 8:15 from the Gordon C. She was last employed by the Dinn Brothers Trophy Company in Holyoke. She previously worked at the former Chicopee Undergarment Company and the Acme Chain Company in Holyoke. She was a communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. She was a member of the former Acme Chain Bowling League. Her beloved husband, Joseph W. Landry was Called Home on May 22, 2003. They were married at the former Precious Blood Church in Holyoke and enjoyed 67 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving children, Norman R. Landry and his wife Jeannine and Shirley A. Darsch, all of Chicopee. Her five cherished grandchildren, Sandra Maroney and her husband Keith, Kevin Landry, Linda Colucci, Gary Darsch and his wife Swannie and James Darsch. Phyllis L. Morgan, 71, of Holabird Avenue, Winsted, died on Saturday, (December 24, 2005). She was the wife of John Morgan for 45 years. Born July 16, 1934 in Winsted; the daughter of the late George and Clair (Northway) La Rocque. She was a graduate of Gilbert School and Bay Path Junior College. Mrs. Morgan served on the Board of Selectman for four years in Winsted, and in her last term was elected Mayor. She served in this capacity from 1981 to 1983. She was a volunteer for the Valley Thrift Shop in Winsted. She was also a communicant of St. Joseph's Church for 71 years. CHICOPEE – Nelson P. LeMay, Sr., 87, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Saturday, December 24, 2005. He was born in Chicopee on June 1, 1918 a beloved son of the late William and Laura (Guyette) LeMay and moved to Columba Street in Chicopee Falls in 1952. He was employed for many years as a gun smith at the Savage Arms Company in Chicopee and Westfield and retired in 1980. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II with the 104th Infantry and attained the rank of Private First Class. He received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in action against enemy forces. He was a communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Chicopee Lodge of Elks 1849. His beloved wife, Theresa G. "Terry" (Barsalou) LeMay was Called Home on June 27, 1997. They were married at Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls on January 23, 1945 and enjoyed 52 years of happiness together. He leaves his loving children, Nelson P. LeMay, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Manchester, NH, Carol C. LeMay of Gill and Robert R. LeMay and his wife Cheryl of Chicopee. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Nazaire and Marianne (Bouchard) Lemelin, he lived in Fall River most of his life and in Somerset for the past 37 years. Mr. Thomas Nelson Pare, Sr., aged 83, joined his dear wife, Marian L. Pare, in eternal peace on Christmas Day. Thomas was a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather and a decorated veteran of WWII. Surviving are his son, Thomas N. Pare Jr. DDS, of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren, Thomas N. Pare III, Emily E. Pare, Kimberley C. Pare and Samuel W. Pare; his brother, James H. Pare of Palm Springs, CA; Mike and Carie McKown and Kurt and Denise Tornga. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and private family interment will be in Graceland Mausoleum. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
