SCOTT - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at a 10 a.m. service in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott for Edith Duhon, 83, the former Edith Patin, who died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at the J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville.The Rev. Gilbert J. Dutel, pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Scott, will conduct the funeral services. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Pierre Part, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Clar-ence Waguespack, celebrant. Entombment in the church mausoleum. She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Winnie Daigle and Gladys Breaux, both of Pierre Part, and Louise and Lloyd Cavalier, Belle River; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Gleason and Barbara Simoneaux, Plattenville, Milton Simoneaux, Napoleonville, and Wilma Blanchard and Mable Simoneaux, both of Pierre Part; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Edward and Dorothy Rivere, Plattenville, and Emily Cavalier, Schriever; 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and numer-ous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duvillier Simoneaux; parents, Phillip Sr. and Ernestine Cavalier Rivere; four sons, Ridley, Whitney, Sidney and Aldridge Rivere; sons-in-law, Floyd Daigle and Roy Breaux; four sisters and four brothers. Mary Marchinko June 21, 1930 - December 26, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Glen Eden Funeral Home (Winnipeg) MARY MARCHINKO It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and wife Mary Marchinko. Mom passed away with her sons’ by her side on Monday December 26, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Residence. She was born in East Selkirk, MB. On June 21, 1930, she was 75 years old. Mom’s greatest joys came from her two sons and their families; son Wayne (Linda) and their children Kristi and Kyle; Son Brian (Deirdre) and their children Kathleen and Kevin. Also left to cherish her memory are her husband Albin of 46 years; sisters Stella, Anne and Jeanette and their families as well as many relatives and friends. Mary was predeceased by her parents Jessie and Nicholas Znack. Mom was a caring and generous person who enjoyed cooking and getting together for our weekly family Sunday dinners. These dinners continued up until her dementia robbed her of this joy. Although there were many difficult situations growing up, mom ensured that we had the opportunity to participate in our many sporting and social activities. A trip down Selkirk Avenue or to Polo Park would ensure we were properly equipped and dressed. Working as an evening waitress, she would divide her tips equally into her two uniform pockets to make sure “us boys” had some spending money. Mom’s recent surgery took a heavy toll on her physically and emotionally. Although still quick with a greeting smile, she had lost the joy of life that had endeared her to family, friends and caregivers. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2006, at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Interment and reception will follow. We would like to give special thanks to all the staff at St. Joseph’s Residence for their constant support, sincere kindness and loving care. Mom was a resident there since March 2002. Helen Triche Akin passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2005, in Metairie, LA, after a brief illness. She was born in McDonoghville, LA, on March 19, 1912, to Louise Zewen and Andre Roy Triche. Helen was a devoted daughter, wife and mother, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilburn Akin; and her brothers: Roy Triche and Ryan Triche. In 1931 Helen graduated from St. Vincent 's Academy in Shreveport, LA and in 1935 she married Wilburn Kelly Akin, an army veteran whom she met while he was stationed at Barksdale Field Army Air Base. They resided in Shreveport until he was commissioned to work at a defense plant in Arkansas during WWII. After the end of the war they returned to Shreveport to make their home and raise their son, Richard Kelly Akin. Helen is survived by her son, Dr. Richard K. Akin and wife, Joan of Metairie, LA; grandson, Dr. Richard T. Akin and wife, Bridget of Baton Rouge, LA; granddaughter, Kelly Gilley and husband, Matthew of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Alice T. Mawhinney and Carmelite T. George and husband, Duvall George of Shreveport; plus four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She moved to Kenner , LA several years ago to be near her son and family. Helen was a long-time member of St. John's Catholic Church (now St. John's Cathedral) where she was active in many organizations, including the Altar Society, Queen's Workers Circle 12, and was a lifetime member of the Jesuit-Loyola Mothers' Club.Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM . A Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Michael the Arch Angel Chapel of St. John's Cathedral will follow at 2:00 PM with Father Joseph Ampatt officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Arthur George Page 1920 - 2005 Arthur George Page, 85 years, of Riverview, passed away at The Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Sunday, December 25, 2005. Born in Upper Coverdale, NB, he was the son of the late William and Grace (Frampton) Page, and will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Phyllis (Cuthbertson) of 64 years. A member and former elder of Trinity United Church, Riverview, he was a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent for several years. He served overseas from 1941 to 1945 with the 14th Field Ambulance Corp. RCAMC, and was a member of The Riverview Veterans Association. He was employed with the T. Eaton Co. as a TV Technician prior to being co-owner of Eagle Electronics Ltd. until his retirement in 1978. He was a very loving father, grandfather and uncle. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, David (Barbara) of Truro, NS; daughter-in-law, Diane (late Brian) of Rothesay, NB; two sisters, Elsie of BC and June of USA; five grandchildren, Tammy (Guillaume) Dauphinee, Krista (Derek) Law, Cindy (Steve) Allison, Melissa (Todd) Webster, and Alex Page; one great grandchild, Ettnie Webster; also by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Brian in 2001; three brothers, Edward, Harold and Jack. BRATTLEBORO — Minnie E. Tatro, 98, formerly of Brattleboro, died Dec. 25, 2005, at St. Mary's Home in West Hartford, Conn.She was born Sept. 26, 1907, in Wzykon, Poland, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Prybycien) Juscen.She attended St. Michael's Parochial School in Brattleboro.On Aug. 20, 1928, she was married to Kenneth A. Tatro in Brattleboro. He predeceased her in 1994.Mrs. Tatro worked for many years as a spinner at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates. She later was employed at the former Margolin's Pocketbook Shop, retiring in the late 1970s.She was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Brattleboro and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Ave Maria Circle 128.She enjoyed bowling and playing cards.Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Tatro Jr. of Brattleboro and Joseph Tatro of Sebastian, Fla.; three daughters, Barbara Baker of Barefoot Bay, Fla., Kathryn "Kacia" Russell of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Sally Van Meter of Bloomfield, Conn.; a sister, Catherine Waters of Hinsdale, N.H.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.Mrs. Tatro was also predeceased by three brothers, Joseph Juscen, Stanley Juscen and Benjamin Juscen; and four sisters, Anna Rabideau, Sallie Faridoni, Stephanie Frizzell and Helen Juscen.Friends may call from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home.The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Walnut Street. WEBSTER— Elizabeth J. "Betty" LaRocque, 60, of South Main St., died Friday, Dec. 23, at home after being stricken ill. She leaves two aunts, Jeannette Millette of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Florence M. Shaw of Webster; a goddaughter, Laura Lempicki of Brighton; and many cousins. She was born in Webster, the daughter of Joseph R. And Doris T. (Morse) LaRocque and lived here all her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1963. Miss LaRocque first worked at Riley Stocker Company in Worcester and then was a clerk at Webster First Federal Credit Union. She was a data processor at Hubbard Regional Hospital for several years, retiring in 2000. She was a life member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a member of its Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality. MacFADZEN, EUGENE FREDERICK The death of Eugene Frederick MacFadzen, husband of Grace Elizabeth, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on December 23, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on February 28, 1930 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Arthureen O'Hara. Eugene was a well respected Letter Carrier for Canada Post until his retirement in the spring of 2005. He was a member of Smythe Street Cathedral and supported mission causes world wide. He was a kind and generous man who was loved by all. He will be missed by everyone, especially his grandchildren who loved "Bompy" dearly. He loved family gatherings and was looking forward to spending Christmas with his family. CHILDS, LYNN - The death of Lynn Margaret (Barrett) (Griffin) Childs, of Saint John, occurred peacefully on December 22, 2005 at her residence. Born 1948 in Saint John she was the daughter of M. Jean (Fraser) Barrett and the late Gerard O. Barrett. Lynn was a graduate of Simonds Regional High School in 1966 and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in 1969. She received her postgraduate education in Neuroscience Nursing from McGill University via the Montreal Neurological Institute in 1970. Lynn received her Baccalaureate in Nursing from the University of New Brunswick in Saint John in 2000, continuing with her Diploma in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University in 2002. She was currently enrolled in the Masters of Nursing program at the University of New Brunswick. She held certification in Critical Care and Cardiovascular Nursing and was a frequent guest speaker at national conferences. Besides her mother, she is survived by her son Michael Barrett Griffin his wife Laurie (Mason) and their children Allison Maria and Katherine Grace of Saint John; daughter Jennifer Gerene Perry her husband Colin and their son Jacob Griffin Perry of Grand Bay-Westfield; siblings M. WORCESTER— Conrad J. “Chickie” Boilard, 81, of Worcester, died December 23, 2005, at home, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Conrad is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marie (Ladue) Boilard; his children, Christopher and his wife Joanne of Andover, Michelle B. Currie and her husband Robert, of Worcester and Lynne B. McMillian and her husband John, of Belchertown. ”Chickie” is also survived by nine grandchildren; two step- grandchildren; three great grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Lapine of Marlborough; his brother, Robert Boilard of Wilbraham and many beloved nephews and nieces. A son, Mark C. Boilard predeceased him. Conrad was born in Springfield, MA, August 5, 1924, son of Adelard and Lillian (Daigle) Boilard, and spent his working career in the family business, A. Boilard & Sons, Inc., in Indian Orchard, MA. The company was founded by his father in the 1930s. He retired in 1984, and along with Marie, spent their retirement years between Massachusetts and Florida. Conrad proudly served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in India, and was a life member of the American Legion Post 277. He was an avid photographer with a Fellowship in the Photographic Society of America and a lifetime member of the New England Camera Council, and the Springfield Photographic Society. He was also a judge, a world wide exhibitor and teacher of photography. Conrad served on the Board of Trustees of Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, and also enjoyed being a HAM radio operator, with the call letter K1DSR. “Chickie” recently completed his autobiography. Conrad’s funeral will be held Wednesday, December 28 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 10:00AM in Our Lady of Mt. Ron is survived by Frances, his adoring wife of 61 years, loving son Walter and grandchildren Jason, Ashley, Fraser and Alexis. Predeceased by son Bernard. Survived by brother in law Laurie (Grace), Jackson (Laurel), Sylvia (daughter Christy) and many other nieces and nephews. Ron will be fondly remembered as a veteran of World War 2 and his constant pursuit of the knowledge of Jesus Christ, his Savior and Lord. NORWAY - Patricia M. Blaquiere, 71, of Oxford, died Saturday, Dec. 24, at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.She was born in West Bethel on Dec. 26, 1933, the daughter of Wilbur and Ruby Luxton Davis. She was a graduate of Gould Academy.She married James "Blackie" Blaquiere on March 15, 1954. Patricia was a devoted wife and mother, who worked for the Bethel Phone Co. in her early years, when there were crank phones in Bethel. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and baking. She was the official baker for the Oxford Fire Department. She was also a CB radio enthusiast; her CB handle was "Old Maid."She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, James "Blackie" Blaquiere of Oxford; six daughters, Debra J. Blaquiere of Augusta, Sally J. May of Oxford, Brenda J. Sawyer of Oxford, Linda J. Cary of Bryant Pond, Sandra J. Johnson of Waterford and Christine J. Gammon of West Paris; five sons, Thomas A. FALL RIVER -- Lucien J. Vermette, 85, of Fall River died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the widower of Laura (Morin) Vermette and the companion of Marie Jacquemet of Somerset. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Napoleon and Clara (La Ferriere) Vermette. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral. He was a maintenance mechanic for Precision Thread and Pepper Mill and an order picker for Swank's of Taunton. Mr. Vermette was a World War II Army veteran. He liked to play cards, bowl and golf and was a member of the Hidden Hollow Golf, Somerset Holiday Lanes and senior pitch and cribbage leagues. Survivors include his companion; a son, Raymond Vermette of East Providence, R.I.; a sister, Rose Bouchard of Fall River; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was a brother of Alphonse, Armand, Leo, Alcide, Emile, Albert, Samuel, Arthur, Antoinette and Dora Vermette. His funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from Boule Funeral Home, 615 Broadway, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 in St. Mary's Cathedral, Spring Street. Gauthier, Montez Joffrion With tender sorrow, we lay our mother to rest. Montez Joffrion Gauthier quietly left this life on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at the age of 85 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Her strength of character, generosity of spirit and kind and loving nature were admired by those who knew and loved her. Mama was born on Sept. 26, 1920, in Long Bridge to Byron and Lucille McCabe Joffrion. She grew up in Long Bridge, graduated from Cottonport High School and attended LSU, but due to illness, completed her studies at SLI (now, University of Louisiana at Lafayette), graduating in 1942. After graduation, she taught in Cottonport, and in 1946, married James M. "Tunney" Gauthier. After living in Atlanta, where she taught third grade, they returned to Cottonport, where she taught high school English in Hessmer, Moreauville and Cottonport for more than 30 years. Mama retired in 1981, and traveled throughout the United States, but most often to Houston to visit her children and grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Tunney Gauthier (1978); sister, Betty Laborde (1988); and her nephew, Buzzy Laborde (1998). She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Townsend and Susie and Perry Deason; son and daughter-in-law, Byron and Colleen Gauthier; grandchildren, Trey and wife Pam Townsend, Jeffrey and wife Jennifer Townsend, and Stacy and Julie Gauthier, all of Houston; sister, Shirley Madden, Baton Rouge; and brother and sister-in-law, Bennett and Nina Joffrion, Evergreen. She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. CALUMET - Dorothy Louise Caserio, age 83, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at home. Dorothy was born on April 10, 1922, in Mohawk, a daughter of William and Mary Prideaux and was a graduate of the Calumet High School. She married John Caserio on Feb. 20, 1943, in Detroit. Upon her husband's return from WWII service, the couple has resided in the Calumet. She was a member of the St. Paul the Apostle Parish and the Calumet Lady Elks. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers William, Raymond, Chester, Willard, and a sister Irene. She is survived by her husband John of Calumet, son Keith (Kay) of Salt Lake City, Utah, granddaughter Erin (Robert) Oltmann. Florence (Rouleau-Wagner) Brousseau-Rith, a retired Clerk at the Woburn District Court passed away after a brief illness early Saturday morning, December 24, 2005 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. She was 87 years old. Florence was born in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Alexander and Augustine Rouleau. She grew up in North Cambridge and was a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin. When her daughters were young, she moved to Woburn where she worked and raised her family. She had worked for a number of years as the manager of the soda fountain portion of the White Spot which was located in Woburn Four Corners. She then worked for 5 years as the housekeeper at Saint Barbara’s Rectory. She then took on a position as a clerk in the Civil Department of the Woburn District Court in Woburn. She retired after 20 years with the courts. She spent her retirement years living in Florida. Florence had a number of interests. She enjoyed going to Bingo. She like to travel and she loved to shop. She was a woman of strong faith, who loved her family. She enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and then great grandchildren grow up. She always looked forward to coming back to Massachusetts each summer to see her family and friends. Florence is the wife of Fred Rith of AZ, and the late Henry Wagner and John Brousseau. She is the loving mother of Florence & her husband Thomas Murray, Jr. of Burlington and Joyce & her husband Philip Wells of Shirley. She is the grandmother of Thomas Murray, III of Burlington, Mark Murray of Dracut, Theodore Murray, Sr. of Dunstable, Maureen Wall of Burlington, Bonnie Holston of Shirley, and Wendy Rimbach of Lunenburg.
