HOBBS, Dorothy May 26, 1914 - December 24, 2005 Dorothy passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Saturday, December 24, 2005. Predeceased by her parents Norman and Emily Howard, her husband William Lyle Hobbs, brother Ellard and sister Velma. Survived by her daughter Sharon Dunn, grandchildren Kevin, Peter (Vicki) and Michael Dunn, Tracy Forsythe (Bruce) and great-grandchildren Shawn, Scott, Ryan, Conner and Erin. He was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.He was employed by AJ Seabra of Cumberland for the past 18 months previously working at McDonalds Restaurant, Cumberland.Mr. Bourassa had attended Cumberland High School and Woonsocket Vocational Technical School during his high school years.Beside his parents he leaves one brother, Justin R. LEWISTON - Fernand L. Deschaine, 78, formerly of Sabattus, died Saturday, Dec. 24, at d'Youville Pavilion, where he had been a resident for the past year.Born in Frenchville on June 5, 1927, he was the son of Philip Deschaine and Dorithie Ouellette. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed plumber. He enjoyed working in his son's garage, where he would repair and rebuild water pumps. While doing this, he had the opportunity to meet customers and spend time reminiscing about the past.Survivors include his companion for the past 23 years, Jacqueline Bisson of Lewiston; five sons, Robert and wife, Sylvia, Frank, Ross and wife, Terry, Bert and wife, Jeannie, and Gary, all of Sabattus; three daughters, Jackie Marquis and husband, Robert, of Lewiston, Connie Begin and husband, Paul, of Sabattus, and Diane Pulk and companion, John Bilodeau, of Sabattus; a sister, Lucy Ouellette of Auburn, 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Gerard Deschaine; former wife, Therese Deschaine; five brothers; and three sisters.

SHREWSBURY— Dorothy M. “Dot” (Faucher) Brisson, 89, of 10 Mary Scano Drive, Worcester, formerly of Shrewsbury and Ft. Myers, Florida, died Friday, December 23rd in The Christopher House surrounded by her family. Her husband of 55 years, Stanley C. Brisson died in 1995. She leaves three sons and their wives, Robert A. and Elsa Brisson of California, David P. and Mary Lou Brisson of Shrewsbury, Stephan A. and Diane Brisson of Millbury; a sister, Grace Cashen of Billerica; also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Faucher. Mrs. Brisson was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Ernest J. and Margaret A. (Smith) Faucher, and had lived in Shrewsbury most of her life. She had worked for the former State Mutual Insurance Company in Worcester for several years before she retired in 1985. After her retirement, Dot had moved to Ft. Myers, Florida, for 11 years, before moving back to the Worcester area in 1996. She was a member of Saint Anne’s Parish and the Senior Center, both in Shrewsbury. Dot had several hobbies, including cooking, playing cards with her friends and doing ceramics when she lived in Florida. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dot’s family on Tuesday, December 27th from 5-8 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. DRACUT -- Roger W. Grenon, a resident of Dracut, who worked for the Water Department in town and was a Korean War veteran, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Lowell General Hospital. He was 68.He was born in Lowell, June 17, 1937, son of the late John A. and Emily (Noval) Grenon. He received his education in Dracut schools.An honorably discharged veteran, Mr. Grenon served his country with the Military Police in the Air Force during the Korean War.Mr. Grenon was employed for many years by the Dracut Water Department.He was an avid cribbage player and enjoyed ice fishing and watching sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Roger W. Grenon Jr. of Dracut, John P. and Tina Grenon of Tyngsboro, and Donald M. Grenon, also of Dracut; a daughter, Pamela A. Grenon of Derry, N.H.; five grandchildren, Jacqueline Grenon and Margaret Grenon of Nashua, Magan Grenon of Tyngsboro, Amanda Grenon and Bianca Grenon of Derry, N.H.; a sister, Lorraine G. Mary H. Dupuis 90 of East Hartford died Friday, (December 23, 2005) at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center Hartford. She was the widow of Rene L. Dupuis. She was born in Taunton MA. daughter of the late John and Ann (Carney) Haggerty. Mary was employed at Hamilton Standard for 29 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Mother's Circle of East Hartford. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Norman Dupuis and Irene Watson of Colchester, a daughter and son in law, Diane and Francis Sacerdote of Rocky Hill, her longtime companion Harold Kohler and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dupuis was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. UPTON— Alice R. (Oakham) Bouthiette, 79, of Upton, died early Christmas morning in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough after an illness. She was the wife of Francis L. Bouthiette, to whom she was married for 33 years. Mrs. Bouthiette was born in Newport, RI, a daughter of the late Herbert and Rose (Blake) Oakham and was the last surviving of eleven brothers and sisters. She was educated in Catholic schools in Newport and had lived in Woonsocket, RI for many years before coming to Upton in 1972. She was a communicant of Holy Angels Parish in Upton. In addition to her husband, she leaves one son, Norman Doura, and a daughter, Norma Gummo, both of Woonsocket, RI; two stepdaughters, Nancy McDonnell of Upton and Bonnie Bouthiette of Manville, RI; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Another daughter, Rose Desrosiers of Woonsocket died in 1982. DOVER — Rita Elizabeth (McKenney) Aube, 78, a longtime resident of Dover, died at her home, Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005 after a brief illness. She married J. Bertrand Aube at St. Mary's Church, Dover in 1951 and remained his wife for over 50 years until his death this October.Born in Dover, N.H. in 1927, she was the daughter of the late Gladys Mae (Hall) McKenney and Arthur James McKenney. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1944 and Dover High School in 1945. Although her first employment was in a weapons factory during World War II, after high school she started work at the Dover Telephone Office where she was employed from 1945 through 1954. She was a loving mother who enjoyed cooking for large gatherings of her children and friends. She was an ardent reader who enjoyed contemporary fiction novels which she subsequently passed along to family, friends or charities. She encouraged a lifelong love of learning in her children and took classes as an adult in such eclectic studies as oil painting, intellectual acuity, ballroom dancing and ceramics. In her later years, she traveled, enthusiastically visiting Ireland, Germany and Italy in addition to U.S. locales. She leaves behind three sons, Robert Arthur Aube of Beverly, Mass.; Michael Albert Aube of Grand Rapids, Mich., and James Andrew Aube of Farmington, N.H.; and two daughters, Marianne Chojnicki of Dover, N.H. and Jane Aube Caruso of Falmouth, Mass. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, Elizabeth Aube; Christopher Aube, Melissa Aube, Jenna Kramer, Bryan Aube, Jonathan Rajeski, Ashten Chojnicki, Elyssa Chojnicki, Beatrice Caruso, Carmen Caruso and Daniel Caruso as well as two great grandchildren, Sean Links and Quinton Kramer. She also leaves three brothers, Arthur McKenney, Richard McKenney and John McKenney; three sisters, Kathleen McKenney, Mary McKenney, Ann Marie Robichaud, all of Dover. OBITUARY JOHN MICHAEL CLARK It is with a heavy heart and deep regret that Helen, Liam George and Dylan John Bossinakis-Clark, announce the passing of their beloved husband and father on December 21, 2005. To say John was special was truly an understatement. A man who was loved and respected by everyone he met, John was known as a really nice guy. Diagnosed with cancer in 2003, John fought very hard not to become a statistic. Despite the fact he was labelled as terminal (one year), he truly had the will to live. He went through chemo like a champ, golfed when he was told he could not, and lived a great life. He will be greatly missed by his family whom he loved and appreciated more than anyone knew. Brother William, sister-in-law Gail, sister Rosemary, nieces Jennifer and Stephanie and nephew Shawn and his big Greek family, mother-in-law Lily, sisters-in-law Sonia and Christina, brother-in-law Tony and little niece Jazmine are all left to mourn. Pre-deceased by his parents William and Anne-Marion. Will be greatly missed by all his family in Scotland. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Lacombe, LA since 1976. Walter was a WW II VETERAN who flew in PBY airplanes among other duties with the U.S. NAVY. He was also formerly employed by WWL - Channel 4 in New Orleans and by the Atlantic Richfield and Alaska Ocean as a Communications Officer. Walter was a member of a PBY group with whom he communicated on a regular basis. One member of the BPY group expressed his sentiments to the family upon Walter's passing. ""Very sorry about Walter taking his last flight. May he have a happy landing in God's International Airport in Heaven.'' Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, November 29, 2005. Edna Harriet Barnett DAUPHIN, MB - Edna Harriet Barnett, age 96 years of Dauphin, MB passed away after a brief illness at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre on Monday, December 19, 2005. Edna was born in Fork River, MB on December 12, 1909, eldest daughter of Francis (Frank) and Edna Hafenbrak (nee King). After completing her education at Fork River and Mossey River Schools, she attended normal school in Dauphin, graduating in 1929, she received her permanent 2nd class teacher's certificate in 1932. Edna taught at various schools in Manitoba including Pine View, Skala, Magnet, Dane McCarthy and Molesworth (Glenella). Following her marriage to Eian in 1935, they lived on a farm three miles south of Magnet. When Eian went to work for B.F. Goodrich Tire Co. in Kitchener, ON, Edna and her two boys moved to Magnet. Later Edna and Eian owned and operated the General Store in Magnet for 14 years, where Edna was also the Postmistress. After selling the store they moved to Rorketon and Eian worked for the Manitoba Department of Highways. When Eian passed away in 1981, Edna moved in to Dauphin and resided in Kinsman Villa for the last 23 years. Edna enjoyed curling in the winter and gardening in the summer, as well as helping out at community events while in Rorketon. At the Kinsman Villa she enjoyed playing cards and bingo in the evenings and was reportedly very good at shuffle board. Edna also played the piano and her students at Magnet will remember the School Christmas Concerts she organised each year. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Her colourful afghan blanket and doilies were given freely to relatives, friends and charities. Edna was predeceased by her husband, Eian in 1982; son, Francis in 2002; brothers, Ernest King in 1983 and Tom in 2003; and daughter-in-law, Doreen Barnett in 2005. Surviving is one son, Stan Barnett of Riverview, NB; one sister, Ann Hunt of High Bluff, MB; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews and extended family. NEW BEDFORD -- Paul LeBlanc, 69, of Swansea died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Arthur and Rose (Leger) LeBlanc. He lived in New Bedford until moving to Swansea 18 years ago. In earlier years he worked in the family business, LeBlanc's Patent Medicine Pharmacy on Acushnet Avenue. A client of the Department of Mental Retardation, he attended the Somerset Adult Day Care program for many years. The joy of his life was attending the Groton Wood Camp every summer. Survivors include a sister, Florida Arsenault of New Bedford, and his caregivers, Thomas and Carolyn Renehan of Swansea. He was the brother of the late Albert LeBlanc. LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Aaron Edmund Goudeau, 77, who died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Baton Rouge General Hospital.The Rev. John DeLeeuw will be celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in St. John Cemetery. Mr. Goudeau, a native of Eunice, was the son of the late Jules Goudeau Sr. and the former Lydia Guillory. He served in the National Guard. He had retired from the Lafayette Parish School Board as a teacher after 50 years of service. He was a member of Louisiana Teachers Association and the Kirby Boudreaux Rosary Group, Legion of Mary. He was also a member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church Community where he served as a Eucharist Minister. He was instrumental in beginning the Marion Movement of Priest.Survivors include his sister, Rose Mary Foley, of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Jules Pierre Goudeau Jr., of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Al Frances Goudeau, of New Orleans; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ray Overton Goudeau and Charles Glenn Goudeau.The family requests visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and continue from 8 a.m. Tuesday until time of service.A rosary will be recited by the Rosary Group at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.Pallbearers will include Patrick Foley, Ted Foley, Frank Foley, Jay Foley, John Foley and J. RYAN, Colonel E. W. "Pat", CD (Retired Group Captain - RCAF) With his daughters by his bedside, Colonel Pat Ryan passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23rd, 2005, at the Ottawa Hospital. In his 80th year, he is survived by his wife Rita and their four children: Karyn, Vincent, Jo and Dean. He was the proud grandfather of Paul, Steven, Ryan and Simona and great-grandfather to Kayleigh. Also surviving him is his youngest brother, Jack; his other brother, Don, predeceased him. Born in Kitchener on March 22nd, 1925, he studied Engineering, in London, at the University of Western Ontario and later at the University of Michigan where he received dual Masters: Aeronautical and Electrical Engineering. Pat is one of the few veterans who served in all three branches of the Canadian Armed Forces: piper with the Scottish Fusiliers at age 15; a pilot in the Royal Navy at 20, and a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1945 until 1976. During his career, he had postings in Whitehorse, Ottawa, Washington, and Clinton, where he served as Commanding Officer. Following his retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces, he became Assistant Dean of Engineering at Carleton University and later was editor of The Canadian Aeronautics and Space Journal. An accomplished pilot, engineer, and writer, he will be fondly remembered by his family as a bagpiper, organist, painter, avid reader and tinkerer. His generosity and sharp sense of humour will be greatly missed and never forgotten by those who knew him. We would like to express our gratitude to the healthcare team of the ICU at the General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital. As Pat supported numerous charities, memorial contributions to your favourite charity would be appreciated. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. TROY - James D. Durand, 77, Dec. 23, 2005, died at his residence in Troy. He was born in Troy.Jim was employed by Allegany Steel and was retired a number of years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Pacific from 1945 to 1949. Jim had a passion and love for fine wood carving and made many beautiful carvings. He is the husband of Patricia A. Lanchok Durand and the father of Kevin (Bonnie) Gratto, Troy, Kelly (John) Knapp, Troy; also six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Saratoga National Cemetery.
