BULMER, Isabella Sarah (nee Hammill) Peacefully in Ottawa on December 5, 2005 in her 94th year. Isabell was born in Milden, Saskatchewan in 1912. She was a lifelong resident of that province. Widow of Edward Bulmer, (born Forrester's Falls ON, 1905). Loving mother of daughter Jane (Derrick Ho-Chung-Qui) of Calgary and Houston and grandma to Tina (Calgary) and Mark (Thailand), and of son the Reverend Canon Garth (Kathleen Arsenault) of Ottawa and Nana to Dominique (South Korea), Philippe (Ottawa) and to adopted grandson Alexandre Villeneuve. Predeceased by all of her 6 brothers and sisters. Survived by many nephews and nieces and by sisters-in-law all in Saskatchewan, Jean Hammill of Outlook, Doris Hammill of Regina, and Grace Bulmer of Saskatoon, and many friends in Milden and Saskatoon. A requiem Eucharist in celebration of Isabell's life will be held at St John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 154 Somerset St. West, Ottawa, Ontario, on Saturday, January 7 at 12 noon. Isabell's ashes will be interred beside her husband in Milden in the summer. During her life in Milden Isabell was active in many community organizations, loved to curl and play bridge, and was a lifelong member of St John's Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married. Né le 22 octobre 1917 à Moncton, il était le fils de feu Jude et Julie (Leger) Bourgeois. MARTIN, J. D. SCOTT After a heroic two year battle with cancer, Scott passed away on December 7th, 2005 at the young age of 34. Scott is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Tara Ramsbottom; children Kealy and Kyle; parents Maureen and Gordon Martin; sister Gail (Adams), her husband Derek, and Conor, Kade and Bryce (the boys); grandmother Joyce Martin; grandfather Jim Russell; mother-in-law and father-in-law Jacqui and Murray Ramsbottom; as well as his many relatives and friends. Scott was born in Pembroke, Ontario on June 2nd, 1971. He attended Carine Wilson High School in Ottawa and the University of Ottawa where he played football for the GG's. Scott had a very successful career in the food service industry, filling senior management positions with Mexicali Rosa's in Ottawa, Montreal and Perth, and serving as District Manager with Tim Horton's in Edmonton. Despite his illness, he remained concerned and supportive at all times of his many friends and colleagues. A celebration of Scott's life will be held at the Grace Presbyterian Church on Old Tenth Line in Orleans at 1:30 pm on Saturday the 17th of December. STEWART, Denise "Denie" (nee de Hertel) Peacefully at the Garry Armstrong Home on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at the age of 91. Wife of the late Sherald Edward "Ned" Stewart (1961). Loving mother of Hugh (Cathie Campbell) of Wakefield, Quebec. Cherished grandmother of Brandy and Alec both of Palo Alto, California. Denie, a Colonel's daughter, grew up in Perth and graduated from Queen's in English and History in 1934. Her strong organizational skills were in demand for numerous church, hospital and community activities while living in Smiths Falls and Brockville in the years of her marriage. An aptitude for clear, concise writing led to a position in the Department of Manpower and Immigration in the 1960's and 1970's. Her stories and momentos from many trips and cruises taken in her retirement are fondly recalled by Brandy and Alec. Denie's sharp mind and quick wit were appreciated by family and friends of all generations. Her favourite place was the cottage at Rideau Ferry where her favourite pastime was a vigorous discussion of the politics of the day, ideally followed up by a rigorous game of scrabble or bridge. Especially memorable is the winter she taught Hugh and his high school buddies the intricacies of playing a hand in no trump. A private memorial service will be held by the family. Friends are invited to attend a reception in Denie's honour at the Garry J. Armstrong Home, (formerly Island Lodge) 200 Island Lodge Road on Monday December 19, 2005 from 2 to 4 P.M. The family would like to thank the staff of the Garry Armstrong Home for their exceptional care and friendship over the last ten years. LEAHY, George - 1918 - 2005 - Surrounded by family, our Dad/Grandpa passed away gently and with great dignity at the Calgary Chinook Hospice on Wednesday, December 7, 2005. A short-term resident of Calgary, he was born, raised and lived a full and wonderful life in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan with many friends and his loving family. He was a cowboy at heart, a beekeeper for his hobby, and a CPR man by trade with a true love of trains. His friends will remember him for his easy going disposition and his whistle. George was someone who whistled his way through life. A big man with an incredibly big heart, George always put his family first. He leaves us to cherish his witty sense of humor and loving memories, including his children, Brian (Sheila), Darcy (Wayne), and Donna (Brian), his grandchildren, Kelly, Erin, Cherie (Darin), Maegan, Courtney, Kelcie, Luke and Jude, his sister, Celestine (Anne and Jim) and brother Joe (Louise) (Elaine, Kim, Suzanne, Faye, Glenn, Stacy, Stevie, Linda, Scott, Patrick, Katie). Our heart felt thanks to the dedicated care givers of Signature Care, The Good Companions, Helping Hands, Westview Lodge, The Nursing Co., and especially in our final hours the angels on earth at the Chinook Hospice. The Celebration of George's life will be held in Moose Jaw, SK, Sunday, December 11, 2005 at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery beside his loving wife, Marie. DOWLING, MARJORIE GORHAM - Augusta -- Marjorie Gorham Dowling, 102, of Augusta, died Wednesday December 7, 2005 at Maine General Rehabilitation, Glenridge Drive. She was born in Kingston, New Brunswick, Canada February 6, 1903 the daughter of Adino and Rosie (VanWart) Gorham. Mrs. Dowling was a retired Quincy, Massachusetts school teacher. She was a member of the Massachusetts and National Retired Teachers Association, the Order of the Eastern Star in Quincy, American Youth Hostels, Appalachian Mountain Club and Saint Mark's Church in Augusta. Marjorie was the widow of Henry C. Dowling, who died in 1986. She was also predeceased by a brother, Donald and four sisters, Evelyn, Alice, Beryla and Zella. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Pauline Gorham; two nephews, Ernie D. Gorham, of Kingston and James Gorham, of Granton, Ontario and a niece, Frances Gorham Myers, of Fredericton, New Brunswick. At Marge's request, there will be no visiting hours or service. Following cremation, her ashes will be interred in the Trinity Church Cemetery, Kingston, New Brunswick.
