SUSAN MARGARET MASSE, 44, of Katy, passed away Monday, December 5, 2005. She was born on August 19, 1961 to Richard and Bertha Jeanette Boulet Dugre in Sanford, Maine. On June 4, 1983 she married Michael A. Masse. They have lived in the Katy area since 1989. In Katy, Mrs. Masse was a long time volunteer at Cinco Ranch High School in the 9th grade attendance area and the office. She supported the CRHS Cross Country team in various activities. She was a member and friend of the Ken Lay YMCA and a member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Michael Masse; children, Caitlin Masse and Andrew Masse; Parents, Richard and Bertha Dugre of Sanford, Maine; Sister , Michelle Sherman and husband, Richard of Springvale, Maine; Brother, Stephen Dugre and wife Jean of Waldorf, Maryland; Nieces, Kendra Sherman, Sarah Sherman, and Kristen Dugre; and nephew, Nicholas Dugre. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. VICTORY MILLS, N.Y. -- Austin Matthew and Carissa McKenzie Fountaine, newborn twins of Chad and Michelle Fountaine of Evans Street, both ascended to Heaven, after being born prematurely on Sunday evening, December 4, 2005 at Saratoga Hospital. The twins were the grandchildren of Bill and Carol Carpenter Ouellette of Gansevoort and George and Kathy Wood Fountaine of Stillwater; maternal great-grandparents are Rosaire and Joan Ouellette of Ballston Spa and Dorothy Carpenter of Saratoga and the late Warwick (Woody) and Florence Wood. Also survived by a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service in Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville, will be held at the convenience of the family. SPRINGFIELD - Richard Alphonse Fredette, 95, of St. James Ave. died Mon. at the Chapin Center in Spfld. He was born on Holyoke and lived in Springfield most of his life. He graduated from Commerce High School and attended Bay Path College in Longmeadow. He worked as a technician for the teletype and the telesetters at the Springfield Newspaper. He also was self employed as a typewriter repairman. He was formerly a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Spfld. He was predeceased by his wife Viola A. (Goyette) Fredette in June 4, 2000. He leaves his son Kenneth Fredette and his wife Donna of Springfield, a brother Harry Fredette of Charlestown, RI, and his nephew Wayne Fredette and his niece Carol Fredette. There will be a Funeral Service Fri. 11 a.m. at Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Spfld. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in Spfld. CARIBOU - Clarence L. Gagnon, 78, died Nov. 5, 2005, at Caribou. He was born Sept. 21, 1927, at Caribou, the son of James and Eva (Nadeau) Gagnon. He was a graduate of the Caribou High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Clarence was a self-employed carpenter and musician in the local area and was also employed by the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad as a locomotive fireman and commercial bus driver. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Henry B. Pratt Post No. 15 American Legion, a member of the National Rifle Association and the Fort Fairfield Rifle and Pistol Club. He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Brady and her husband, Steven, of Sandfork, W. Va. and Melanie Andrews of Rumford; eight grandchildren including a special grandson, William James Girouard II; many great-granddaughters; five nieces; three special nephews, Jeffery Gagnon of Presque Isle, David Gagnon of China and Paul Gagnon of Bangor. He was predeceased by two sons, Michael Andrews and Clarence "Beaver" Gagnon; two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Clarence may do so to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Jeanne Letourneau, 82, of Newington, died Monday, (December 5, 2005) at her home. Born in St. Hilaire de Dorset, Canada, daughter of the late, Ferdinand and Philomene (Francoeur) Letourneau, she lived in Newington for the past 36 years and was a member of St. Mary's Church, Newington. Jeanne was formerly employed by Custom Metal Craft for many years. She leaves her two sisters-in-law, Gilberte Letourneau of Lewiston, ME, Laurette Letourneau of Canada; many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by seven brothers and seven sisters. LUDLOW - Mary D. (Martins) Bergeron, 88, of Kirkland Ave., died peacefully on December 5, 2005 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pittsfield, she lived in Ludlow for most of her life where she worked for Ludlow M& S Co., and then later for East Street School before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, a member of it's St. Anne's Society, a life member of Ludlow and Florida DAV and the Purple Heart Association of Florida, and a member of the Ludlow Golden Agers and Senior Citizens. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Albert Bergeron, who predeceased her in 2001; a loving mother to Albert Jr. of Tyler, TX, Dolores Murphy and her husband, Thomas and Debbie Johnson and her husband, Bill, all of Ludlow; a dear sister to several sisters and brothers; and a cherished grandmother of Justina, Heather and Meaghan. WINSLOW -- Connie Poulin, 76, of Fortier Street in Winslow, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at the d'Youville Pavillion in Lewiston, after a lingering illness. Connie was born with a tooth, as reported in the newspaper, on Dec. 28, 1928, on Green Street in Waterville. She attended Mt. Merici Academy and Winslow High School.She worked as a bookkeeper at Warren's, Crescent Hotel, Morning Sentinel, Rosenthal Enterprises, Dodge City and Alco Packing. She was an avid reader and loved to ride her bicycle around town. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, and a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 8835. She is survived by daughters, Jane Poulin of Lisbon and Anne Poulin Budris of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Elaine Montminy; nieces, Karen Montminy and Kelly Hooper; nephew, Kevin Montminy and their families; lifelong friend, Allie McDonough; and friend/caregiver, Rosemarie Lane. CLIFTON PARK, NY -- John J. Patenaude, 80, of Clifton Park and formerly of Cohoes, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at St. Clare's Hospital, Schenectady. Born in NYC, he was the son of the late Ernest and Helen Cocuzza Patenaude Sr. and beloved husband to Edna Marie Remillard Patenaude of Clifton Park. John lived the past 30 years in Clifton Park, but never lost his love of his hometown of Cohoes. He received his education from the former St. Patrick's Grade School. John graduated from Cohoes High School and received his accounting and business management degree from Siena College. He was a member of the United States Coast Guard serving during World War II. John retired in 1989 as director of the NYS Industrial and Utilities Valuation Bureau after 37 years of employment. He enjoyed golf and bowling and was an avid Boston Red Sox and NY Giants Fan. He was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Parish in Clifton Park and a former member of Holy Trinity Parish in Cohoes. Survivors in addition to his wife, Edna, are his loving children, Janice Berben, Maria (Bob) Breen, both of Clifton Park, Jacquelyn Patenaude of Boston, Mass., John Patenaude of Novato, Calif., Gary (Jodi) Patenaude of Cohoes, Dennis (Kathy) Patenaude of Colonie, Brian (Monica) Patenaude of Cloverdale, Calif. and Robert Patenaude of Woodridge, N.J.; 16 cherished grandchildren; his niece, Patricia Huguemin of R.I.; his sister, Patricia A. Kirkpatrick and her daughter, Nina, both of Lake George. He was also nephew of Veronica Patenaude of Cohoes and Eileen Patenaude of Lake George. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Claire B. (Pelletier) Lamothe of Bouvier Ave., Manville, died Monday, December 05, 2005 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Albert “Pete” Lamothe. Born June 27, 1928 in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Harphila & Rose Alba (Guevremont) Pelletier. Claire lived in the Greater Woonsocket area most of her life. She retired as a Senior Systems Analyst with the Department of Mental Health for the State of Rhode Island. She previously had worked for 25 years as an assembler for the former Uniroyal Co. in Woonsocket. She had served as Treasurer of the Credit Union of Uniroyal. She was educated in Drummond-Ville, Quebec, Canada. She then graduated from the former St Claire High School, Woonsocket. She also studied to become a Medical Secretary. She is survived by three godchildren; Claire Bourget & Renee Taraborelli, both of Woonsocket & Vickie Brannigan of Mapleville, an aunt; Clemence Pellitier of Woonsocket, a brother-in-law; Raymond Morin, and many neices & nephews. WINDHAM - Ronald E. Robichaud, 65, of Valley View Road, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 5, 2005 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Ron attended Westbrook Schools and joined the Marines after graduation. He returned to Maine and worked at SD Warren before retiring in 1998. He recently worked at Ledgewood Manor in Windham. Ron was an avid outdoorsman, photographer, gunsmith and loving husband and father. His passion for learning, adventurous spirit and sense of humor was reflected in the way he lived. He will be remembered as a gentleman and a gentle man. Ron was predeceased by his mother, Freda Glidden. He is survived by his father, Alvah Robichaud and his wife Hazel of Newport. He is also survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Kathleen. He will also be missed by his four children, Jenna Marquis and her husband Jay of Waterboro, Katti Robichaud of Portland, Lisa Hoffses and her husband Craig of Windham, and Mark Riley and his wife Kathy of Charlotte, N.C. In addition he leaves behind eightgrandchildren, whom he loved very much, John, Joshua, Jacob, Cameron, Meghan, Aidan, William and Owen. Ron also had three sisters and a brother, Carolyn Beske of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jeannie Lobdell and Nancy Harmon, both of Sarasota, Fla., and Gerry Robichaud of Newport. Rita Mae Savoie Vindel, of Metairie, LA, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2005. She was born in Houma, LA on February 17, 1921 to the late Lydia and Edward Savoie. For over 20 years, she worked as a secretary in the Biology Department of the University of New Orleans, and she retired in 1984. Surviving are her husband, Jose Vindel; one son, Lindsey Vindel; one grandson, Joseph Donald Vindel; and one niece, Judy LaParrs. Private graveside services will be held in Houma, LA. Chatelain, Estelle Taylor A retired East Baton Rouge Parish schoolteacher with 40 years of service, she passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor Nursing Home. She was 94 and a native of Starkville, Miss. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until religious service in the chapel at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Lee Allen. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald E. and Lecarol Cribbs Chatelain; daughter, Carol Sue Moeller of Santa Cruz, Calif.; five grandchildren, Donald E. Chatelain Jr., Robert H. Chatelain, Margaret Allynn Kennedy, Justin Moeller and Haskel Moeller; seven great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Lauren Chatelain, Mallory, Matthew and Marlee Chatelain, and Taylor and Griffin Kennedy; two sisters, Annie Ruth Taylor and Dr. Lois Kilgore, both of Starkville; brother, George Taylor of Starkville; and numerous nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrick J. Chatelain; and parents, George and Susie Taylor. She was a member of Broadmoor Methodist Church, Ethical Study Club and Daughters of the American Revolution and had performed in several plays at Baton Rouge Little Theater. She held a bachelor's degree from Ole Miss and a master's from LSU. Pallbearers will be Donald E. Chatelain Jr., Robert H. Chatelain, Haskel Moeller, Gary Kennedy, Dale Plauche, Percy "Pal A." SPRINGFIELD - Leonard E. Gauthier, 79, died December 4, 2005 in Springfield, Massachusettts. Born in Springfield on September 13, 1926 to Henri and Cora (Pepin) Gauthier, he was a lifelong area resident. He had been employed as a route salesman for Interstate Uniform. He married Eleanor Mougin, and together they raised their five children. During WWII, he served in the Merchant Marines and later in the Army Air Corps. He will be remembered as a very non-judgemental person with a caring heart who, along with his wife, Eleanor, opened their home on Central Street to all, over the years. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife. Family members include his sons: James and his wife, Roberta, of Wilbraham, MA, Joseph and his wife, Theresa, of Antelope, CA, John and his wife, Carol, of Granby, MA, and Leonard "Chip" and his wife, Lisa, of West Springfield, MA; daughter, Laurie Pastoreck, of Springfield, MA; sister, Pauline Veighey, of Boynton Beach, Fl; ten grandchildren: James, Joel, Julia, Joseph, Brianna, Amanda, and Kristen Gauthier, and Nicole, Michael and Ryan Pastoreck; three great-grandchildren: Alexus and Amari Pastoreck, and Luis Ruperto; many nieces and nephews, and "Choppy " the dog. The funeral ceremony for Mr. Gauthier will be on Friday, December 9, 2005 assembling at 8:15 a.m. at the Nowak Funeral and Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Avenue, Indian Orchard (at the Ludlow bridge), proceeding to St. Michael's Cathedral for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m., followed by burial with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 11 a.m. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, December, 8 from 5-8 p.m. For directions or to express on-line condolences please visit www.nowakfuneral.com Published in The Republican on 12/7/2005.

Rosemary Galaise Bonaguide, of Burlington, beloved wife of John Bonaguide, passed away Tuesday, (December 6, 2005) at the Hebrew Home and Hospital in West Hartford. Rosemary grew up in Torrington, and was a graduate of Torrington High School, class of 1953. In 1956 she married her high school sweetheart, John Bonaguide, and together they raised three children. She and her family moved to Burlington in 1967. Rosemary was a member of St. Patrick's Church and a volunteer at the parish's thrift shop in Collinsville. She had a special artistic talent, filling the family's homes with her colorful canvases. Rosemary loved music and played piano, guitar and the accordion. She also enjoyed gardening, swimming, and spending time with the animals she loved. In addition to her devoted husband of 49 years, she leaves behind her three loving children, Gregory Bonaguide of North Attleboro, MA, Cheryl Bonaguide of East Hartland and Pamela Bonaguide of Wayland, MA; their spouses, Christine Bonaguide, Ralph Zimbowski and Dennis O'heron; four grandchildren, Aaron, Hannah, Devon and Cassidy; two sisters, Georgia Warren of Florida and Jane Gagnier of Maine; her many brothers and sisters-in law who provided support and comfort through her long, difficult struggle against Alzheimer's disease; and numerous nephews and nieces. Her brother, Robert Galaise predeceased her. KEITHA LYNNE TRUAX Keitha Lynne Truax passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23 at Toronto East General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 11, 1937 in Fort Frances, Ont., and was educated at the University of Western Ontario and the University of Toronto Library School. She was a long-time employee of the Ontario government’s Health Policy Branch. She is survived by her mother, Hazel; and brother, Michael (Anne) and family. She was predeceased by her father, Ellsworth (“Tood”). She will be sorely missed by many friends. Lynne’s was a life well-lived. Celebrate her memory.
