Jacqueline "Jackie" Carol McLaren May 05, 1945 - November 16, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Victoria) Jackie died peacefully in the presence of her family after a brief battle with cancer. Survived by her family; mother Margaret, daughter Angela, brother David, sisters Susan and Kim, as well as Gordie, Marie, Kathy, Jennifer, Grant, Courtney, Cameron, Rowan, Shaylee, and Jayden. Jackie was born in Oxford, England and came to Canada as a child. She recently traveled to Israel for what turned out to be a life-changing positive experience. The family would like to thank the staff of Victoria Hospice for their compassionate care during Jackie’s final hours and to Rabbi Harry Brechner for his support and kindness. Graveside service will be held in the Jewish Cemetery, Cedar Hill Road, on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 11:00am. Donation gratefully declined. CROUSE, Roland (Veteran) 1924 - 2005 Roland went to his heavenly home on the 11th day of the 11th month in the 11th hour. He was surrounded by his loving family and devoted wife of 53 years, Anne. Beloved father of Mary, Elizabeth, Susanne, Catherine. Dear grandfather of Jennifer, Christopher, Mahgen, Mathew, Catherine. Roland was a proud veteran of WW II and served aboard the H.M.S. Nabob. Followed by 22 years of RCAF military service. He was admired for his sense of humour, generosity and loving spirit. He fought a courageous battle with cancer using these same traits. DABLE, HABIB MAJID It is with great sadness that the family of the late Habid Majid Dable of Fredericton, NB announces his peaceful passing on Tuesday, November 15th, 2005. Born in Barsa, El-Koura, Lebanon on January 4th, 1923, he was the son of the late Majid and Mary Dable. Habid immigrated to Canada in January 1955 with his wife, Marie and son, Majid and was a lifelong resident of Fredericton, NB. He was a loving, caring husband, father, brother and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Marion (Marie) of fifty-six years, son Majid (Houda) Dable of Fredericton, NB; daughters, Anna (Edward "Tomo") Thompson of England; Mary (Philippe) Arab of Halifax, NS; grandchildren, Caroline Habib, Justin, Joseph, Mathew and Lucas; one brother Joseph (Lodie) Dable of Fredericton, NB; three sisters, Fahme (Chamel) Khoury of Fredericton, NB; Janet Deble of Saint John, NB and Yvonne Debleh of Australia and many wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by the parents; brother George Debly of Fredericton, NB and sisters, Solha, Saidee and Khouna of Lebanon. Habib most enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and family; He surrounded himself with loved ones and always had a good story to inspire others and invoke laughter into the most ordinary of situations. Antoinette Bertoniere Netzhammer died on Monday, November 14, 2005 at the River Region Hospice House. She was 87 years old. Beloved wife of the late Franklin Netzhammer. Aunt of Carmel Netzhammer Brown and Emile Conrad Netzhammer and his wife, Anna Belle. Unable to fully regain her strength after the trauma of being injured during Hurricane Katrina and lost in evacuation for several days, she was finally reunited with family and able to spend two weeks in her home of 57 years. Once home, she was lovingly cared for by Kathy Burke, her friend and caregiver of many years. Her neighbor, David Graham, always attentive to her needs, also was a great help in getting her home ready for her return. We, her family are extremely grateful to Kathy, David, the doctors, nurses and chaplain, Father Doug Brougher at Touro. We are also most appreciative to the staff of River Region Hospice House for the care given during her final days. Beloved wife of Jan for 52 years. Waldy and Jan immigrated to Canada in 1961 with two children, two suitcases and no language. Waldy devoted her life to her family and worked tirelessly so that her children had every opportunity. Hilda McDermaid 1918-2005 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mrs. Mary Hilda McDermaid, widow of the late James Rexford (Rex) McDermaid, of King St., and formerly Chatham Ave., Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at the age of 87. Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Belsamae (Martin) Voutour. She was a homemaker and attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon McPherson (Blair), of New Waterford, N.S.; five sons, William McDermaid (Delores), of Miramichi, Rex McDermaid Jr. (Simonne), of Ottawa, Ont., Richard McDermaid (Evelyn), of Ridgeway, Ont., Robert McDermaid (Susan), of Timmons, Ont., Charlie McDermaid (Judy), of Oakville, Ont.; one sister, Vi Breau, of Miramichi; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Rex, in 2004; three sisters, Rose Clark, Martha King and Mary Voutour; four brothers, Anthony, Frank, Ernest and James Voutour. Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Friday evening only, from 7 to 9 pm. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Michaels Basilica, on Saturday, November 19, 2005, at 10 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Lionel Côté SHEDIAC, NB - Lionel Côté of Shédiac and formally of Edgett Street in Moncton, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Wednesday, November 15, 2005 at the age of 82. Lionel was a retired Conductor and Rule Inspector for the C.N.R., also a veteran of the Second World War serving with the R.C.A.F. from 1939 - 1945 in France and Germany, he was also a member of the Club d'Age d'Or of Shediac. Besides his wife he is survived by his two sons, Donald (Bernice) Of Ottawa, Ont. and Raymond (Linda) of Moncton; his sister, Dorothé Nadeau of Grand Falls; his brother, Roger (Jeannine) of Edmunston; his sister-in-law, Claudette Côté of Edmunston; and by his four grandchildren, Chalaine, Damien, Nicole and Mathieu. SOMERSWORTH — Loretta Cyr, 69, of Cornfield Drive, died on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H. She was born on Dec. 14, 1935, in Tarrytown, N.Y., the daughter of Sylvio and Yevette (Gagnon) Cyr. She had a love for animals, her loyal companion "Wiggles," the dog. She was loved by many.
