EXETER, N.H. - Yvette M. (Ruel) Rossi, 72, formerly of Chicopee, was called home on October 19, 2005, into eternal life in heaven while surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Chicopee where she lived and worked most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Yvonne (Gregoire) Ruel. She was a graduate of Holy Name High School in Chicopee, and attended Westfield State College. She worked as a teacher and educator at Putnam Vocational High School in Springfield, and later taught at St. John's School of Business until her retirement in 1990. It was then that she began her battle with cancer. She was a communicant of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Chicopee, and a member of its Choir for many years. She was also a Pioneer Valley Girl Scout Leader and an active member of the Ward Six Civic Association, the Parent Teacher Organization, and the St. Catherine of Sienna Senior Citizen's Travel Group. She enjoyed traveling to many different destinations after her retirement to the beautiful seacoast community of Exeter, New Hampshire. She became a communicant of St. Michael's Parish and a member of the Exeter Senior Center where she was involved in a wide variety of activities and community projects and events. Her favorite place to gather with family and friends was at the historic Nubble Light House in Maine where she enjoyed her favorite scenic picnic area and home-made ice cream. She was an avid collector of New England Lighthouse antique memorabilia. During the cold winter months she lived in sunny southern Florida and enjoyed traveling to many different destinations in the "Sunshine State". She leaves many dedicated family and friends in the Vero Beach, FL. area, including her loving cousins, Donald and Yvette Champagne, Robert and Kathy Champagne, and devoted friends, Joseph and Deka Donovan. She leaves her loving and devoted husband, Frank, who she met in 1957 at Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company, where they both once worked together. They recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on October 17, 2005, and shared the joy of three beautiful children together. She is survived by her daughter, Diane M. Reed of Belchertown, her daughter, Susan Rossi-Bihler and her husband, David of East Longmeadow; her son, David Eugene Rossi of Chicopee and his loving and supportive companion, Kim. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Rizzo and her husband, Sal of Kissimmee, Florida, Courtney S. Reed of Belchertown, Krista Busha of West Springfield, and Amanda "Dolly" Bihler of East Longmeadow. She also leaves her brother, Joseph Ruel and his wife, Teresa of Chicopee, her brother, Norman "Pete" Ruel and his wife, Pauline of Chicopee; her sister, Pauline Skowera and her husband, Dennis of Springfield. She is predeceased by her brother Robert Ruel and his wife, Carol. She was the sister- in-law of the late Lee and Velma Hopkins, and she was the aunt of many loving and caring nieces and nephews. She was always very grateful to the many devoted and concerned friends in the Springfield area. She was thankful for all the people who prayed for her. Her strength and determination remains an inspiration to all. Yvette will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Her spirit will live on in each of us forever. To honor Yvette's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass and celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 104 Springfield Street, Chicopee, for dear friends and family. BERLIN, NH -- Mr. Romuald R. "Oiseau" Theberge, 82, of 30 Oxford Street, Berlin, NH, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Amqui, PQ, Canada, on August 15, 1923, the son of Isidore and Adrienne (Gravel) Theberge, and was a lifelong resident of Berlin. He had been employed by Brown Company and James River Corporation and retired in 1987. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, the Club Joliette Snowshoe, M.E.S.H., the Golden Age Club and North Country Senior Action. He was a very active volunteer in community service and enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.Members of the family include two sons, Roland and his wife Collette of Berlin, NH, and Robert of Berlin, NH; one daughter, Claire of Bellingham, WA; two grandchildren, Marc and his fiancee Meghan Dupuis of Berlin, NH, and Bonnie Lowry and her husband Ken of Berlin, NH; one brother, Paul of Berlin, NH; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Laura Goudreau, and a brother, Maurice.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Beeton: Berkley March 22, 1934 - October 13, 2005 It is with great sadness that the family of Berkley Allen Beeton announce his passing on Thursday, October 13, 2005 at the age of 71 years following a brief bout with cancer. Berkely was a multi-talented man who was comfortable on a combine, in control working under the hood of a car, at ease on the back of a horse, smiling as he worked on wood, relaxed as he tooled leather. He loved it all! His most recent and prideful accomplishment was the fact that he remained well enough to do his part in this fall's final harvest. This was one of his happiest times of the year and he was very grateful that he remained a vital part of it. Berkely's first and greatest love was his family and he is survived by his loving wife Janina, son Ralph (Dianne), daughter Jackie (Dave), and son Roger (Leah), as well as his six grandchildren and his two great-grandchildren. Berkely touched the lives of many and leaves behind a large group of family and friends who will deeply mourn his passing. Memorial services were held Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Knox United Church, Three Hills, Alberta, with interment at Swalwell Cemetery. Swain: Charles Lewis 1922 - 2005 Charles Lewis Swain, beloved husband of Patricia Swain, passed away peacefully at the Continuing Care Unit of the Drumheller Hospital on Wednesday, October 19, 2005. Charles was born June 22, 1922 in Calgary, AB to Lewis and Lottie Swain. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Marwood. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia; sons Patrick (Claudeen), Michael (Jennifer); and daughter Dawn (Dave); grandchildren Garrett, Reid, Erin, Leah and Benjamin. Charles moved to the Valley at the age of six months, and with the exception of his college years in Edmonton and his service with the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII, he spent his life in Drumheller. Upon his return from WWII, he went into the insurance business with his father, and over the years, other businesses were added - travel agency, real estate office and campground, to name a few. During his lifetime he was involved with the Chamber of Commerce, Kinsmen Club, Tourism Alberta, and was a champion of many community building ventures. His leisure time was spent in the field where his passion for hunting and fishing was legendary. A special thanks to all the wonderful staff who cared for Charles and the Continuing Care Centre for the past seven years. A memorial service will be held in Drumheller at the St. Magloire's Anglican Church, 176 - 2nd St., at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2005. HORNER, Leta Edith - Passed away peacefully at Cassellholme, on Sunday, October 23, 2005. Leta Finnigan, was the beloved wife of the late Claude Harley Horner, she was 94 years old. Loving mother of Ralph and Frank "Kilvie" and his wife Fran, both of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Lee Horner, Kilvie Horner and his wife Nancy, Chip Horner and his wife Martha, Claudia Horner, Brad Lobregt and his wife Bridgette, Kim Oakes and her husband John and by her great-grandchildren, Breanna, Gwilym, Jordan and Christen. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Sybil Beatty and by many nieces and nephews too great to mention. Predeceased by her siblings Ralph, Frank, Eddy, Adam "Pearly", Lillas and Jean. Leta had been an active and involved member of the St. Andrew's United Church and had been involved with North Bay Minor Hockey. She ran the Home and School Committee at the old McIntyre School for many years, then was employed with Bell Canada as a switchboard operator and then transferred to the North Bay Psychiatric Hospital to set-up and manage their communications network. Visitation will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 28th at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at the Terrace Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Center will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

DELAND - Edgar Louis Malouin, 86, of Wiley Avenue, an auto mechanic, died Monday at home. Mr. Malouin was born in St. Lyn, Quebec, and came here in 1987 from Winchendon, Mass. NORTHBRIDGE— Joseph A. Larochelle, 87, of 31 Legion Way, died on Monday, October 24, 2005, in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. Joseph was born in St. Magloire, P.Q., Canada, on July 27, 1918, a son of the late Eugene and Bernadette (Brochu) Larochelle, and he came to the United States at the age of one. He was educated in the Northbridge School system. He entered the U.S. Army on Feb. 5, 1942, and was discharged as a Sergeant on Sept. 29, 1945. He served in Europe with Headquarters Co., 704th Tank Destroyer Battalion, and participated in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe campaigns. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, the European, African, Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Medal with 5 bronze stars, and the Distinguished Unit Badge. Joseph worked at Whitin Machine Works, later White Consolidated, Whitinsville, in the Spindle Department. He retired in November, 1981, after 46 years of service. He was a loyal member of the Whitinsville Local, United Steel Workers of America, AFL-CIO, and served as local vice-president for many years. He was also an active and committed member of St. Peter’s Catholic Parish where he was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, acolyte at daily Mass, member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and a longtime volunteer on the Bingo Committee. He was a member of Oliver Ashton Post #343, American Legion, Whitinsville Council, Knight of Columbus, and the Millbury branch of the Associates of the Sisters of the Assumption. After his retirement, he delivered Meals On Wheels in the local area for many years. He enjoyed the Red Sox, playing cards (especially Bridge and Cribbage), and listening to opera. Joe is survived by his wife of 30 years, Fernande C. (Boucher) Perras Larochelle; 3 children; Mary, wife of Dr. Val Boudreau of Wilmington, NC, Claire, wife of Dr. Robert Grassi of Wolfeboro, NH, and Dr. Joseph Larochelle and his wife, Bonnie, of Concord, NH; 5 stepchildren; Janyce, wife of Paul Murray of Whitinsville, John Perras and his wife, Karen, of Northbridge, Thomas Perras of Grafton, William Perras and his wife, Elizabeth, of Deland, FL, and James Perras of Northbridge; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, The Rev. Alphonse Larochelle, Missionaries of Our Lady of LaSalette, Kauai, HI; 3 sisters Doris Rainville of Whitinsville, and Rita Fidrych and Hedwidge Simon, both of Pascoag, RI; nephews and nieces. Joe’s first wife, Lauriana (Cousineau) Larochelle, died on August 19, 1964. He was also predeceased by a sister Theresa Rainville of Whitinsville, and 4 brothers; Raymond, Philip, Gerard, and Henry Larochelle. Joe was a kind, soft spoken, unselfish man of great faith. He earned the love and respect of his large family and numerous friends by the way he lived a life of caring for others. His funeral will be Friday, Oct. 28, from Turgeon Funeral Home, 80 School St., with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 39 Church Ave. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Providence Rd., Whitinsville. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 9 PM. The celebration of life of Albert Edward Trepanier, of Rutland, who died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 25, 2005, at his home, will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Rutland. The Rev. Francis Privé, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in West Rutland at the convenience of the family. He was born April 8, 1922, in Proctor, Vermont, the son of Edward and Pauline (Vigneau) Trepanier.Al was a graduate of West Rutland High School and General Motors/ Ford Motor Corp. Marketing Institute.He entered the U.S. National Guard Army Infantry in 1939 as a private and attained the rank of captain in 1944. As a commander in the U.S. Army's amphibious assault unit during World War II, he was honorably discharged in 1946, having received the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars with V for Valor with Cluster, five Purple Hearts with four Oak Leaf Clusters and the Presidential Unit Citation. He also received the American Defense Service Award, the American Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Philippines Liberation Medal with two Bronze Stars and four Arrowheads for four invasions (Attu, Kwajalien, Leyte, Okinawa) and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign with four Arrowheads.He entered the automotive sales and service field in 1948 with Val Preda Olds-Cadillac Inc., in Rutland, and moved to Burlington, Vermont, in 1956 to manage Val Preda Olds-Cadillac as vice president and general manager. In 1972, he resigned to join Nordic Ford Inc. as general sales manager. He became vice-president/general manager, stockholder and director of all Nordic Ford enterprises (Nordic Ford/Toyota, Nordic Leasing Inc., Ford Rent-A-Car and Nordic Tractor). He also served as president of the Chittenden County Automobile Association. He was also a member of the Vermont Small Business Advisory Council.He served the City of Burlington as an alderman, traffic commissioner, airport commission and six years as police commissioner. He also served two years at chairman of the board of governors at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont. He served as vice-president of the University of Vermont Centennial Club and served six years on the board of governors at the Burlington Country Club, the last year as president.In 1980, he and his wife, Marilyn (Holmes) Trepanier, moved back to Rutland. He was employed in the automotive business until 1984, when he joined the real estate agency of Joseph R. Bove Sr. He later joined the real estate firm of Jim Watson Realty, then Coldwell Banker Watson Realty. Floyd Edgbert Elliott 1918 - 2005 ALMA, NB - Floyd Edgbert Elliott, 87, of alma, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Floyd was born in Alma West, NB on April 11, 1918 the son of the late Thomas Edgbert Elliott and Avis Leolia (Dixon) Elliott. He worked as a young man in the lumber business and also sold Christmas trees. He later worked for the Province of NB as a tax assessor until his retirement. he was a member of the Howard Lodge #15 F&AM. He was well known in his community and everyone knew he was always there when needed. He was a very special man and you could always expect a warm welcome from Floyd. He especially loved times spent with his family and took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Edna Elliott;, two daughters, Carol Steeves of Saint John and Ann Dyer of Lower Coverdale; by his seven cherished grandchildren, Peter Rossiter, David Rossiter, Darren Rossiter, Patricia Rossiter, Michael Steeves, Andrew Steeves and James Steeves; and by his 11 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Viola Lewis (Ira); half brother Glendon Fillmore (Helen). He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. LACONIA -- Reginald A. Bisson, 97, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at the St. Francis Healthcare Center. He was predeceased in 2001 by his beloved wife, Adrienne. Mr. Bisson was born April 20, 1908, in Newton Center, Mass., the only son of Wilfred and Lora Bisson. He was a longtime resident of Laconia. After he completed grammar and high schools in Laconia, he entered Norwich University and after a year at Norwich, he transferred to M.I.T., graduating with honors in 1930 with an S.B. degree in building construction and engineering. Following his graduation, Mr. Bisson spent a year working in skyscraper construction in Manhattan with the Thompson Starrett Co. He then performed four years of field engineering and construction supervision with the state and federal governments, working throughout New Hampshire on Civilian Conservation Corps projects. On Sept. 14, 1936, he married F. Adrienne Shastany of Laconia. In 1937, he joined his father's contracting firm of W. M. Bisson & Son as engineer-estimator and contractor's Assistant. He became manager of the construction division of this firm in 1945 and sole owner upon his father's retirement in 1952. From 1941 to 1945, Col. Bisson was in active military service with the Corps of Engineers and Army Air Force Engineers, serving in South Africa, the Middle East, China and throughout the eastern United States. In 1953, he graduated from a special associate course, Army Command and Staff College in Leavenworth, Kan. Mr. Bisson was a co-author of the book Engineering Opportunities (D. Appleton Century) and wrote and published numerous articles and reports about construction projects, including one on the Avery Dam that appeared in New England Construction magazine. Mr. Bisson was a member of the Laconia Rotary Club, a director of the Laconia Chamber of Commerce, the Associated General Contractors of New Hampshire and Vermont and the Laconia Industrial Development Corp. He was a trustee of the Laconia Hospital, a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the New Hampshire Society of Engineers, the Society of American Military Engineers and the Winnipesaukee Power Squadron. He and his wife flew with the Belknap Aero Club in the mid-1930s. Mr. Bisson was a senior vice president of the New Hampshire Department, Reserve Officers Association of the United States. In 1953, he became a corporator of the Laconia Savings Bank and a trustee in 1954. Mr. Bisson was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia. Survivors include three sons, William J. Bisson of Portland, Maine, Robert A. Bisson of Alexandria, Va., and John F. Bisson of Laconia; a daughter, Elizabeth Kingsley of Saugus, Mass.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Fridayfrom 5 to 8 p.m. at the carriage house of Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia, where the Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the church, will be celebrant. Burial will follow at the family lot at St. Lambert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Endowment Trust, c/o Paul Normandin, P.O. Harley Ells age 77 of Fenwick passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 surrounded by his loving family at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Port Greville, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Captain Arthur H. and Margaret (Dowe) Ells. He was a member of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders for many years retiring as a Warrant Officer. Harley was employed at Enamel Heating for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, biking, Darts, Horseshoes and spending time at his summer cottage with his family. Harley is survived by his wife the former Kathleen Ripley, one daughter Signa (Paul) Nickerson of Moncton NB; two sons Lindsay (Judy) of Millbrook, Pictou Co., NS, and Kevin (Sandra) of Belnan Hants Co., NS; one brother Douglas (June) of Musquash NB; Six grandchildren Mark, Stephanie, Justin, Jillian, Amara and Olivia; four great grandchildren Kelsea, Emma, Mackenzie and Allysa; many nieces and nephews. Beside his parents he was predeceased by one daughter in law Gail (Milner) Ells. Grandmaison Jr., Eugene A. 'Blue' -- Bentley, Michigan -- Mr. Grandmaison, 52 years, passed away Saturday evening, October 22, 2005 at his sister Deb's home with his family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer that he was "Going To Beat". Eugene was born in Bay County February 11, 1953 to the late Eugene A. Sr. & Irma (Raymond) Grandmaison and lived here all his life. He has gone to join his parents and finally get his log house built in Heaven. He was employed by Dow Brands-S.C. Johnson for 24 years. He was a member of the Michigan United Conservation Club and The National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, especially deer and turkey and looked forward to having coffee with his buddies everyday at Sportsman's Bar in Pinconning.
