1932 - 2005 À l'Hôpital général de Sorel, le 14 octobre 2005, est décédée à l'âge de 73 ans, Mme Léola Brideau, épouse de Jean-Louis Croteau, demeurant à Sorel-Tracy. Elle laisse dans le deuil, outre son époux Jean-Louis, ses enfants : Johanne (André Dionne), Guylaine (Jean-Pierre Chicoine) et son jumeau feu Jean-Guy, Dominique (Patrice Forest), Patrice (Sylvie Croteau), Steve; ses petits-enfants : Sébastien (Catherine), Caroline (Manuel), Luc, Guillaume, Janie (Luis), Vicky, Jonathan, Anthony, Nathan; un arrière-petit-fils : Alexis, ses frères et sœurs, ses beaux-frères et belles-sœurs de la famille Croteau, ainsi que leur conjoint et conjointe, ses neveux et nièces, ainsi que de nombreux autres parents et amis. Mme Croteau a été exposée au salon Gilbert Mandeville & Fils ltée. Les funérailles ont eu lieu en l'église Saint-Jean-Bosco, le vendredi 21 octobre, suivies de la crémation. ST. CYR, Arthur R. -- Passed away at his home in Citrus Heights on October 22, 2005 at the age of 77 yrs. He is survived by his loving wife Roberta (Bobbie) of 50 yrs. Father to Jana (Raymond) Goins of Norman, OK, Gordon (Shannon) St. Cyr of Orangevale, CA., Gary (Tracey) St. Cyr of Valley Springs, CA., John (Candace) St. Cyr of Phoenix, AZ., Brother to Leo (Pat) St. Cyr of Derry, NH., Glenna, Gladys St. Cyr and Joyce Hamel of Manchester, N.H. Grandchildren: Christopher Swann, Nicholas, Alexander, Ashley, Bradley, Kyle St. Cyr and Kaileigh Goins. Predeceased by his children Michael Lee and Mark Leo St. Cyr. Arthur was a lifetime member of the disabled American Veterans and a former commander of the American Legion, Post #818, North Highlands, CA. He was an exemplary loving husband and a wonderful father. He will be dearly missed by all the lives he has touched. Barbara Jean W. Rondeau , Chesapeake -- Barbara Jean "BJ" Wilson Rondeau, 64, passed away Oct. 23, 2005, at her home. Born June 24, 1941, in Parksley, Barbara was a daughter of the late Robert and Kathleen Margaret Fox Wilson. She operated a day care center, the Rondeau Stars, for the past 17 years. She attended the Great Bridge Church of Christ. She is survived by her sons, Bruce Sundberg and spouse Joanne of Chesapeake and Robert Rondeau of South Carolina; her two brothers, Fred Andrews and spouse Jill of Prince George and Hezekiah Butler and spouse Dale of Disputanta; her two sisters, Betty Ewell and spouse Pete and Kathy Mapp and spouse Keith, all of Chesapeake; her two granddaughters, Jessica Sundberg and Jennifer Rondeau; many nieces and nephews; and good friend Brenda Jordan. Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Crematory, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A special tribute will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Allen Byers officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Yvonne Emmerson DORCHESTER, NB - The death of Yvonne Emmerson, age 82, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Monday, October 24, 2005. Born in Joggins, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Edith (Pellerin) Cormier. Yvonne was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church. A mother, she assisted in the raising of children, in addition to her own. Yvonne will be sadly missed by three sons, Reggie (Bernice), Dorchester, Roy (Nellie), Stroud, ON, and Richard (Janet), Mitchell, ON; two daughters, Barbara (Keith) Tower, Dorchester, NB and Brenda (Allain) Leger, Dorchester, NB; a brother, Francis (Mabel) Cormier, Shediac; a sister, Winnie Bernard, Sackville, NB; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a niece, Darlene Holmes and a nephew, James Cormier enjoyed a special place in the Emmerson home; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles in 2004; a brother, Henry; and a sister, Eileen. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville with visitation Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. THOMPSON, MURIEL G. Muriel G. Thompson passed away at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, Monday morning, October 24, 2005. Muriel, aged 86, was born in Fredericton. She is survived by her sons, Eric R. Thompson (Lynn) of Pincourt Quebec, and J. Keith Thompson (Rosalyn) of Fredericton; her sisters Edith Macleod of Houston, BC, Joyce Rickard and Lois Cameron and her brother Eric McMurtrie, all of Fredericton; and her grandchildren, Mark, Alison, Scott, David and Daniel. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, John R.Thompson. Muriel worked at the Estey and Curtis Drug Company in Fredericton before marrying and moving to Lower Coverdale in 1946 where she made a home for John and her two boys, Eric and Keith. She also worked at Bruce Sutherlands and Shoppers Drug Mart, was a member of the choir and played the organ in the Lower Coverdale United Baptist Church. Muriel and John moved to Fredericton in 1990 and were members of Greenwood Drive Baptist Church. Her latter years were dedicated to the care and comfort of her husband. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Bishops Funeral Home, 580 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. The funeral service will be held at Greenwood Drive Baptist Church, 150 Greenwood Drive, Fredericton, N.B. at 2:00 PM, Thursday October 27, 2005 with Rev. David Egers officiating. Helen Frances Gorveatte 1913 - 2005 The death of Helen Frances Gorveatte, age 92, of Moncton, N.B. occurred on Monday, October 24, 2005 at the ProTem Health Services Home in Moncton, N.B. Born on March 4, 1913 in Springhill, N.S., she was the daughter of the late O.C. Layton and Gertrude Oliver. Helen was a member of Middle Sackville Baptist Church and formerly resided in Moncton for over fifty years, where she was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and was a lover of music and flowers. She will be greatly missed by her son, Kenneth Layton Gorveatte of Brooksville, Florida, USA; two daughters-in-law, Shirley Gorveatte of Moncton, N.B. and Margaret Ann Gorveatte of Dartmouth, N.S.; nine grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Borden Gorveatte; and two sons, Donald Keith Gorveatte and Oliver Douglas Gorveatte. Born on September 30, 1918, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Travers) Vickers. Kitty was born in Coachmans Cove, NL, grew up in St. John's, NL and spent most of her life in Saint John, NB. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church and their CWL. She is survived by two sons, James "Jim" (Jean Ives) of Victoria, BC and Peter (Elizabeth "Betty") of Saint John, one daughter, Patricia "Pat" Lawlor (Edward) of Charlottetown, PE, seven grandchildren, Mark and Paul Griffith, Richard and Kelly Griffith, Cathy Reid, Peter and Steven Lawlor. LACONIA -- Reginald A. Bisson, 97, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at the St. Francis Healthcare Center. He was predeceased in 2001 by his beloved wife, Adrienne. Mr. Bisson was born April 20, 1908, in Newton Center, Mass., the only son of Wilfred and Lora Bisson. He was a longtime resident of Laconia. After he completed grammar and high schools in Laconia, he entered Norwich University and after a year at Norwich, he transferred to M.I.T., graduating with honors in 1930 with an S.B. degree in building construction and engineering. Following his graduation, Mr. Bisson spent a year working in skyscraper construction in Manhattan with the Thompson Starrett Co. He then performed four years of field engineering and construction supervision with the state and federal governments, working throughout New Hampshire on Civilian Conservation Corps projects. On Sept. 14, 1936, he married F. Adrienne Shastany of Laconia. In 1937, he joined his father's contracting firm of W. M. Bisson & Son as engineer-estimator and contractor's Assistant. He became manager of the construction division of this firm in 1945 and sole owner upon his father's retirement in 1952. From 1941 to 1945, Col. Bisson was in active military service with the Corps of Engineers and Army Air Force Engineers, serving in South Africa, the Middle East, China and throughout the eastern United States. In 1953, he graduated from a special associate course, Army Command and Staff College in Leavenworth, Kan. Mr. Bisson was a co-author of the book Engineering Opportunities (D. Appleton Century) and wrote and published numerous articles and reports about construction projects, including one on the Avery Dam that appeared in New England Construction magazine. Mr. Bisson was a member of the Laconia Rotary Club, a director of the Laconia Chamber of Commerce, the Associated General Contractors of New Hampshire and Vermont and the Laconia Industrial Development Corp. He was a trustee of the Laconia Hospital, a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the New Hampshire Society of Engineers, the Society of American Military Engineers and the Winnipesaukee Power Squadron. He and his wife flew with the Belknap Aero Club in the mid-1930s. Mr. Bisson was a senior vice president of the New Hampshire Department, Reserve Officers Association of the United States. In 1953, he became a corporator of the Laconia Savings Bank and a trustee in 1954. Mr. Bisson was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia. Survivors include three sons, William J. Bisson of Portland, Maine, Robert A. Bisson of Alexandria, Va., and John F. Bisson of Laconia; a daughter, Elizabeth Kingsley of Saugus, Mass.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Fridayfrom 5 to 8 p.m. at the carriage house of Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia, where the Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the church, will be celebrant. Anne Esther Schnitzler Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home SCHNITZLER, Anne Esther (Dykstra) – (1920 – 2005) Surrounded by her family, Anne passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice. Anne was born (July 21, 1920) and raised in the Dummer area and attended both Maple Slope and Oregon Schools. She married her sweetheart, George, on March 25, 1940 at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Truax. Together, they raised four children, Frank, Carole, Leo and Patti, and farmed in the Truax area until they moved to Regina in 1979. In their retirement, they traveled extensively, enjoyed their hobbies in music and cards and brought joy to residents of senior care homes in and around Regina for 27 years. Mom always loved to dance, and was often found dancing with such residents as Dad played with his band. She was quite a card shark, as well, and got great pleasure bragging about a 10 cent win over her sisters, Gertie and Ethel, over the years. With her quick sense of humor, she always enjoyed a good laugh! The church was always an important facet of Mom’s life – first at St. Anne’s in Truax and recently at Christ the King in Regina; she was a proud member of the CWL for over 60 years. Family events were a source of great fun; family celebrations, and the inevitable crib tournaments, took precedence in Mom’s busy schedule! Mom and Dad had a wonderful 65 years together, and they exemplified family and married life for all who knew them. Predeceased by her parents, sister Ethel, brothers Art, George and Bill, and son-in-law Calvin Rink, Anne left many to celebrate her life: her loving husband, George; sons, Frank (Carole), Leo (Kathy); daughters, Carole (Ken) Rink, Patti (Jerry) Rodger, nine grandchildren – Monique (Brad) Huebner, Melissa (Dave) Sterna, Michael (Michelle) Schnitzler, Jeff (Doris) Rink, Jolyn (Jeremy) Bein, Ryan Schnitzler (Lacey), Caitlan Schnitzler (Kevin), Michael Rodger and Michelle Rodger (Sheamos); seven great grandchildren: Jordan, Sydney, Callahan, Amber Rose, Cale, Drue and Kyla; sister, Gertie Dunn, numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews as well as her many special friends, many of which live in the McCannel Condo Complex. BUCHANAN, Lois (nee Kieven) In loving memory of Lois Buchanan (nee Kieven), 73 years, who passed away Thursday morning, October 20th, 2005 at her residence in Sudbury. She was born in Toronto in 1932 and married Jack Buchanan in Sault Ste. Marie in 1953. Lois will be long remembered for her sweet, generous disposition, easy laugh and love for her family and friends. She was the kind of mother that would do anything for her kids and was so very proud of them. She showed us how to love selflessly and taught us strong values and a strong work ethic. Lois was a loving wife to Jack for 27 years until he passed away, then enjoyed 15 wonderful years with Colin Flett. She spent 20 years as the dedicated secretary at Cyril Varney Public School and loved the camaraderie with the teachers, Principals and students. Lois was strong and determined in battling her disease for well over 10 years and she appreciated so much what people did for her, never one that could ask for help easily. Many thanks to June Scallon and Ginny Armstrong and their families who cared for her so very well these past years. You made Lois's life the best it could be, always there with creative solutions as new situations arose. Knowing some one was always there to take care of her gave her great strength. We can never thank you enough for standing by her during the last few tough months. We will miss the pleasure of hearing her play the piano and her easy, warm and sincere smile. PORTSMOUTH, RI— Lynda Kay Molleur, 56, of 15 Molleur Road, Portsmouth, RI, formerly of Webster, MA, and Pembroke Pines, FL, died Sunday, October 23, 2005, at home after a four year battle with pancreatic cancer. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 25 years, Ronald L. Molleur, himself a native of Newport. Born on April 28, 1949, in Southampton, NY, she was the daughter of Joseph Ferrara and Rita Marie (Cerra) Ferrara. Lynda was a 1967 graduate of Southampton High School in NY and a 1969 graduate of Becker Junior College in Worcester, MA. After graduation, she began work for New England Telephone and later worked for AT&T and BellSouth. After her husband's own retirement from the phone company, they entered in business together. She served as President of Lynko Corp. in Florida, doing telephone wiring in new construction. Besides her husband, she is survived by five children, Ronald L. Molleur, Jr. of Tampa, FL, Rachel Bolte of Thompson, CT, Colleen Molleur of Arnold, MD, Jacqueline Regis of Webster, MA, Laura Barnardo of Lakewood, CO; a sister, Dr. Donna Ferrara-Sherry of Hampton Bays, NY and her brother-in-law, James J. Sherry of Hampton Bays, NY; a niece, Lisa A. Sexton of Eastport, NY, and a nephew, Jaymes J. J. Sherry of London, UK. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
