SAUGUS – Mr. William H. Doucette, 79 years, of Talbot St., died Wednesday, October 5. He was the husband of the late Mae I. (Butler) Doucette. Born in Malden, Mr. Doucette was a career sailor in the United States Navy. He retired as a machinist mate serving in both World War II and Korea. He served for a total of 25 years. He moved to Saugus in 1983 and was a member of the Saugus Elks and the VFW DeFronzo Post 2346. Mr. Doucette leaves one son, Everett Parker and his wife Joan of CA; one daughter, Joyce A. Peters and her husband Donald of NH; six grandchildren, Bradley Parker and his wife Deena of Taiwan, Carolyn Nelson of Groveland, Joni Mae Bott of AZ, Christine, Mae and Heidi; two great grandchildren, Rachel and Brennan. He is predeceased by one daughter, Hazel Belle Parker. A memorial service will be held at the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus on Thursday, October 13 at 8 p.m.

Leonie M. Chandonnet, 100, of Concord, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Havenwood Nursing Home in Concord after a short illness. Born in Manchester on Aug. 25, 1905, she was the daughter of Louis P. and Leonie (Quirin) Chandonnet. She attended Manchester schools, received her bachelor's degree, with honors from Wellesley College in 1927, her master's degree from Middlebury College in 1931 and a normal degree in advanced French literature from Sorbonne University in Paris. She also studied at the University of Bordeaux and the University of Strasbourg. She earned advanced academic credits in French studies at Harvard University in Boston, Boston University and the University of New Hampshire in 1939. Miss Chandonnet assisted in the revision of Chardenal French Grammar. Miss Chandonnet taught French in Groton, Mass., and Swampscott, Mass., before moving to Newton, Mass., where she taught for 34 years. After her retirement in 1965, she lived in Manchester for 24 years. She moved to Concord in 1989. She was a member of the Wellesley College New Hampshire Club, the Manchester Women's Club, the Elliot Hospital Association, the Currier Gallery of Art and the Manchester Historic Association. She was the last surviving sister of six. Family members include a niece, Jeanne M. Benjamin of Georgetown, Mass.; four grandnieces, Valerie Johnson, Jacqueline Downing, Mary Joe Bagley and Karen Bagley; four grandnephews, Robert Benjamin Jr., James Bagely, Kenneth Bagely, Mark Laserte and John Laserte; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews. Joseph Arthur Clement, age 74 of Jacksonville, FL went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2005. He was born January 22, 1931 in Southbridge, MA, the son of Leo Clement and Cecile Millette Clement. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps following 20 years of distinguished and decorated service. HENNIKER - Mildred G. "Tootie" (Gallagher) Senecal, 82, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Concord Hospital. She was born in Lowell, Mass., before moving to Henniker more than 70 years ago. The daughter of the late Robert E. and Ann (Bauer) Gallagher-Hall, she was also predeceased by her husband, Richard E. LeBlanc, Beverly Jane, -- Midland, Michigan, (Formerly of Alpena). Passed away Sunday, October 9, 2005 at Brittany Manor, age 74 years. Beverly was born May 28, 1931 in Dearborn Heights, the daughter of the late Floyd and Beatrice (Frayne) Gilmore. She married Richard LeBlanc on August 4, 1970. He predeceased her. She loved to play bingo. She was a member of the Catholic Faith. Florence M. Gladu -- April 10, 1924 -- October 9, 2005 -- DANIELSON -- Florence M. Gladu, 81, of Westfield Village died on Sunday at the Haven Health Center in Danielson. She was the wife of the late Gabriel Gladu, who died on July 6, 1988. They were married on March 12, 1945 at St. James Church in Danielson. Mrs. Gladu was born in Burrillville, R.I. on April 10, 1924, the daughter of the late Pierre and Olive Melina (Mainville) Glaude Labossiere. As an infant, Mrs. Gladu moved with her family to Danielson. She attended St. James School in Danielson. Upon completion of her education, she worked in the textile industry. After her marriage, she devoted herself to the raising and care of her family. After her family was raised, she returned to work at the Killingly High School cafeteria. She also worked at Idlewild Farm, until her retirement. She enjoyed Bingo, and she was a member of the Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens of Brooklyn. She was a communicant of St. James Church in Danielson. She leaves a daughter, Celeste Ledford and her husband, Richard of West Warwick, R.I.; a brother, Roland Labossiere of Brooklyn, CT; three grandchildren, Brian, Matthew and Jill Ledford; a greatgrandchild, Kyle Ledford; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Wilfred, Robert and Leonard Labossiere. HUDSON, NY -- Brother Francis Joseph Michaud, C.S.C, died early Saturday morning, October 8, 2005 in Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson after a brief illness. Francis Joseph Michaud was born in Island Falls, Maine on December 7, 1912 the sixth of eitht children of Joseph J. and Annastasia Laura (Saucier) Michaud. He was baptised in St. Benedict's Church in Benedicta, Maine and was confirmed in St. Agnes Church in Island Falls. Francis was educated in the public schools of Island Falls, receiving his high school diploma in 1931. He attended Aroostook State Teachers College in Presque Isle and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Maine in 1949. During World War II, Francis served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945, assigned as a chaplain's assistant in the Italian Campaign. He entered the congregation of Holy Cross as a candidate for the brotherhood in September 1952 at St. Joseph Juniorate in Valatie. He made his temporary profession of vows in 1954 and his perpetual vows in 1958. The early part of his ministry as a Holy Cross Brother was spent in teaching in various schools conducted by the Congregation in Indiana, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. In the mid 1950's he was a member of the faculty of the former Vincentian Institute. A Skilled organist and musician, Brother Francis spent the latter part of his career in music ministry in parishes in Rhode Island and Connecticut. In 1994 he retired to St. Joseph Center in Valatie during which time he devoted his talents to music, French and the study of the origins of English words and phrases. A wake service will be held in the Chapel of St. Joseph Center, Valatie on Wednesday evening, October 12 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated there at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 13. Interment will follow immediately in the Holy Cross Community Cemetery on the grounds of St. Joseph Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Center Retirement Fund. Valerie Jean Cayer November 06, 1961 - October 09, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home CAYER Sadly on October 9, 2005, Valerie Cayer, beloved wife of Michel Cayer of Willow Bunch, Sask. passed away suddenly at the age of 43 years. Valerie Jean, daughter of Joe and Doris Ross, was born in Moose Jaw, Sask. on November 6, 1961. She spent her childhood years in Verwood where her father operated the local hotel. Valerie attended school to the end of her grade six in Verwood and then completed her education in Assiniboia. On November 17, 1979 she married Michel Cayer. They first lived in Readlyn and Valerie worked at the Pioneer Lodge in Assiniboia. In 1981 they moved to Calder, Sask. where Michel was employed at the local community pasture. They returned to Verwood and then moved to Assiniboia. After Charlene was born, Valerie returned to working full time at Pioneer Lodge and the Nursing Home. In 1986, they moved to the farm at Willow Bunch. Valerie loved sports and played for many years with the Verwood Ladies Fastball Team and also coached the Willow Bunch Girls Team. She was an avid fan of all her children and family s sports activities. Valerie loved spending time at the rink and watching hockey games. After she quit her work at the Nursing Home in 2002, Valerie was happy to be able to stay at home where she worked along side Michel in every aspect of their ranch life. She operated machinery, did chores, helped with roundups and working the cattle. Valerie was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. She was a member of the Ladies of the Parish and a 1st Responder. Valerie was loved and admired by her family and friends. She was always concerned about others and wanted to take care of everyone else first. At any function, she was always ready to help with whatever needed to be done. Valerie was the center of her family s life. She looked after everything. She was loving, caring, a wonderful listener and always there to lend a helping hand. She had the biggest heart. She loved her family deeply. She was a favorite Aunt to her many nieces and nephews and especially loved being a Grandma. Her deep faith, love for family, her life of caring for others and her many accomplishments as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, co-worker and friend will always be cherished in the hearts of all who loved her. She was predeceased by her beloved son Colin (1994), parents Joe and Doris Dolly Ross, brother-in-law Butch Lemieux, nephews: Scott Fletcher, Mike Daymond and Calvin Short. MOOERS -- Marie O. Plante, 88, formerly of Mooers, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at the Lakeshore Hospital in Hanover, N.Y.She was born in Mooers Forks on Oct. 2, 1917, the daughter of Ozie and Pearl (Morah) Plante.She attended Canton A.T.C. and graduated from Syracuse University. She was a hospital dietitian in New Jersey and Philadelphia and later was a dietitian at the University of Rochester and later at Bell Canada in Montreal where she retired in 1979 after 23 years of service.She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and St. Joseph's Church in Mooers.She is survived by a sister, Bernadette Mousaw of Derby, N.Y.; three nephews, James Plante of Washington, Joel Mousaw of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and John Mousaw of Hamburg, N.Y.; and a niece, Patricia Mousaw of Derby, N.Y.Two brothers, Paul and Richard Plante, died earlier.Funeral services will be held in Hamburg, N.Y., on Wednesday and a graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Joseph's Cemetery in Mooers.The E.F. MILLER, LEE - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 9, 2005, Lee Miller passed away peacefully with family at his side. Born in West Saint John, he was the son of the late Urban and Lu (Cogswell) Miller and husband of the late Marion (Clark) Miller. Lee was a veteran of WWII serving for a number of years over seas. He worked for the Port of Saint John as a Long Shoreman retiring in 1984. Lee belonged to I.L.A. local #273 and was also a member of the R.C.L. Carleton Branch #2. Lee is survived by his children Judith, Paul (Cathy), Linda, Nancy (Gary) Cairns, Mark (Sheila), brother Phillip, sister Shirley Hindson, grandchildren Tera (Bob), Clark (Shannon), Chris (Kim), Nicole (Chad), Donald, Sarah, Matthew, Abby, and Ben, great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Meghan, Kristen, Jordan, Jennifer, Kelvin, Hannah, Aunt Mabel Smith, several nieces and nephews and special friend Frances Carr. In addition to his parents and wife Marion, Lee was predeceased by brothers Doug, Gerald and Ronald, and his sister Marie Carr. DOUGLAS F. BEAUCHAMP, 78, a resident of Yucaipa, passed away on October 8, 2005, at his home. He was born July 16, 1927, in Inglewood, CA. Douglas was a Line Crew Forman for Southern California Edison for 36 years. He served in the National Guard from 1948 - 1950. He is s urvived by two daughters, Terry Bradford of Yucaipa and Karol Aguaye of Redlands; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He and his wife Pauline were active members of the Calimesa Citizens Patrol.
