Pelletier, Edouard Culbert , of Kapuskasing - of Death: September 13th, 2005 - Edouard (Culbert) Pelletier, 26 Gurney Road, Kapuskasing, died at home on Sept. 13, 2005. He was 87 years old. Mr. Pelletier was born on March 9, 1918 in Matheson. He worked at the Experimental Farm. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Pelletier was predeceased by his wife Salomée (née Leclair), one daughter Laurette Hachez, one son Marcel and three babies Marcel, Nicole and Diane. He is survived by his friend Thérèse, sons Roger (Jacqueline), Léo (Margot), Réal (Lorraine), Raymond, Jean-Guy, Gerry and Rolland Pelletier, all of Kapuskasing, and Denis (Marguerite) of Val Gagné, and daughters Cécile (Gerry) Lepage of Iroquois Falls, Denise (Gérard) Fortier of Moonbeam and Hélène (Denis) Dufour of Kap. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Cremation at Hillcrest Crematorium. There will be no service. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral director was the Guenette Funeral Home.

ALLARD, DONNA M. (MASIELLO), 51 of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Johnston, died Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Benjamin P. Allard. They had been married for 30 years. Born in Providence, and growing up in the Mt. Pleasant section of the City, she the daughter of Anna (Guidotti) Masiello of North Providence and the late Frank Masiello.Donna had worked as an ER Nursing Manager at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital and at Shands Hospital of the University of Florida, and in the ER at Fatima Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital. She was a 1974 graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister. Due to her caring nature, she was a dedicated nurse and was always helpful and considerate to others.Besides her husband and mother, she leaves a loving son, Steven M. Allard and his wife Sandra; two loving sisters, Karla M. Masiello and Angelyn M. Masiello and 4 devoted grandchildren, Steven M. Allard, Jr, Joshua T. and Megan C. Allard and Thomas J. Simms.The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, Manton Ave., Providence. WORCESTER— Loretta A. (DesRosiers) (Packard) Morey, 83, of Dillon Street died on Friday, September 23 peacefully at home after a short illness. She leaves two sons Donald W. Packard and his wife Irene of Worcester and Richard B. Packard of Boulder, CO; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Edward J. Morey; three brothers Edmund, Milton, and Ralph; and three sisters Jeannette, Anita, and Madeline. Born in Worcester she was the daughter of William H. and Albina O. (Riopel) DesRosiers. Mrs. Morey worked for the David Clark Company, Jantzen and Mary Jane Clothes for many years as a seamstress and a floor manager. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and gardening. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at 10 AM in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Eileen T. (Cote) Stroiney, 85, a life time resident of the Enfield community, passed away on Saturday, (September 24, 2005), at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to Andrew T. Stroiney. Born in Enfield, she was the daughter of the late Arthur R. Cote, Sr. and the late Ethel Mae (Dunne) Cote. Eileen was at graduate of Enfield High School, Class of 1937. Active in this community, Mrs. Stroiney was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader when her children were youngsters and was active in their PTA's, both during their grammar school years and at the former Our Lady of the Angels Academy. She was a member of the Democratic Town Committee, a Justice of the Peace, and a member of the town's Commission on the Aging, serving for a time as its chairperson. She drove the bus for the local Dial-A-Ride as well as the Special Needs van for the Town of Enfield. A communicant of Saint Bernard's Catholic Church, she was also a Red Cross Blood Drive volunteer. In addition to her husband, also of Enfield, she leaves her children, Thomas A. Stroiney of Enfield; Carol A. Dumesnil and her husband, Ernest, of Enfield, Andrea E. Campbell, also of Enfield and Kathleen M. McDonagh and her husband, Edmund, of Ludlow, MA; a brother, Matthew Cote of Somers; a sister, Mildred A. Henry of Enfield; her special nieces and nephew, James Hunt, Judith Dischert and Sandra Verraneault, whom Eileen and Andrew raised as their own children. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, Mary Powers, Arthur Dumesnil, Duncan Campbell, Cathleen Kuzara, Eileen Campbell, Michelle Dumesnil, Nancy Martin, Jill Lavigne, Adrien Ouelette, Joann Welch, Thomas Ouelette, Robert Ouelette, Amy Paige, Sally Russell and Anne Pouliot; 19 great grandchildren and a great greatgrandson. Eileen was predeceased by her brothers, Howard Cote and Arthur R. Cote, Jr. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28 from Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Bernard's Church in the Hazardville section of Enfield. A lifelong resident of Scott, Teddy Arceneaux was born in Sulphur on Sept. 17, 1917, the son of Marie Prejean and Davis Arceneaux. He died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005. Mr. Arceneaux was a retired businessman, farmer and employee of the City of Lafayette. A decorated World War II veteran, he was a member of the Stanley Martin-Felix Ducrest American Legion Post 69. Mr. Arceneaux was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Cliney Arceneaux; and his wife of 55 years, Regina "NaNa" Begnaud Arceneaux. He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Linda Louise and husband Roy Matthieu and Franklin Paul Arceneaux and wife Lillian "Butchie," all of Scott, and William Arceneaux and wife Patsy of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Saffer Marie (Mrs. John) Domingue of Groves, Texas, and Marie Lucille "Sweet" Hernandez of Scott; and a brother, John Steven "Doux" Arceneaux of Ocean View, Hawaii; eight grandchildren, Mitchell and Michael Matthieu, Monica and Buddy Arceneaux, and Ted, Angelle (Mrs. Phillip Perret), Leah and Scott Arceneaux; and six great-grandchildren. Cremation is under the direction of Martin and Castile Funeral Home. Mrs. Emma Eleanor Jordeson Shediac 1921 - 2005 The death of Mrs. Emma Eleanor Jordeson Shediac (Mitchell), 84 years, of Autumn Lee Special Care Home, wife of Albert Shediac Sr. of Connolly Street, Moncton occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, September 23, 2005 following a brief illness. Born August 24, 1921 in South Branch, Kent County, she was the daughter of the late William George and Mabel Doherty (Beers) Mitchell. Emma had attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening. In addition to her husband, Albert, she is survived by one daughter, Judith Dunphy (Paul) of Fredericton, three sons Cecil Mitchell (Linda) of Second North River, NB, Albert Shediac Jr (Sheila) of Riverview and Kevin Shediac of Moncton; six grandchildren, Jeffrey and Darlene Mitchell, Aaron Shediac (Jody), Tyler Shediac (Tracy), Tiffany Shediac (Derrick) and Craig Shediac; one great grandson, Dawson Henwood. She is also survived by two brothers, John Mitchell (late Eileen) of Rexton, Edwin Mitchell of Neguac and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, an infant daughter, Darlene, two sisters, Dorothy and Helen as well as five brothers, Harold, Kenneth, Ernest, Alfred and Arthur. John "Jack" H Ellis October 19, 1916 - September 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Peacefully on September 22, 2005 in his 88th year. Jack will be greatly missed by his wife Barbara, children; John (Nancy), Ruth (Bruce) McClocklin, Susan (Brian) Brown, Hugh (Danielle), grandchildren; Lori, Brian, Pat, Jayson, Doug, Michael, Nick, William, Nelson and Noel; great-grandchildren; Ethan, Dalan, Hudson, and Christian, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Ernie and Essie and his sister Olive (Morris) and brother Don. Jack was born October 19, 1916 in North End Winnipeg. He spent a brief time in Ireland and Argyle MB while going to school and retained a lifelong attachment to both places. Jack enjoyed carpentry, gardening, playing and coaching hockey. Many happy hours were spent flooding the ice and managing the playground A hockey champions at Crescentwood Community Centre. He worked at Winnipeg Transit for 25 years, volunteered at Harrow United Church, and was never too busy to help a neighbor or friend. He inspired us all with the integrity and dignity that defined his life. Above all, he was a devoted family man and a faithful husband to Barbara for 63 years. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff on the 6th floor South at St. Boniface Hospital, especially Lorrie, Annie, David and Dr. Davey. Born April 21, 1912 in Minnedosa, Manitoba, beloved son of the late Cora and Joseph Armitage. Toby moved to Sudbury in 1932, where he met and married for 72 years, his life-long love, Andrewine (Ina) Armitage (nee Lyle). Loving father of Stuart (Ann), and Ina Rae (Ted) Beynon, Lynne (Bob) Dinnen, Rhonda (Jack) Mills, Cathie (George) Leonard, and predeceased by Corla (Alex), Stuart, and Lyle. Cherished grandfather of Airlie and David Armitage, Jennifer (Craig) Lawrence, Vicki Armitage (Mike Dawson), Rhonda (Ian) Gordon, Toby (Mary) Beynon, Laurie (Chris) Reaburn, Heather (Sean) Galbraith, Jamie (Louise), Smith, Dawn Graham (Lee O'Reilley), Lance, Andrew and Sharon Smith (Doug Barr), John Michael Mills, Megan, Sean and Lyle Leonard, and predeceased by Chad Smith; also blessed with 14 great grandchildren. Toby's family was his first and greatest love. The Armitage clan gatherings brought love and joy to all. After his family, the Masonic Fraternity and Knox Presbyterian Church were near and dear to his heart. Toby was Past Master and 50 year member of Sudbury Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 658. An outstanding athlete, he played for the love of the game, and passed these values to the many youth that he coached. He was a past member of the Whitefish District Lions Club and served as District A-5 Cabinet Treasurer. Toby was an employee of INCO for 44 years. LAVALLIE, Gail Lois Anne (nee Rienguette) In loving memory of Gail Lois Anne Lavallie (nee Rienguette), 63 years of Sudbury who passed away Saturday, September 24th, 2005 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. She was born in Westree and married Wayne Lavallie in 1962 in Sudbury. Gail came to Sudbury at age 8. A devout Roman Catholic she attended Holy Redeemer Church and member of the parish CWL. She enjoyed travelling, playing cards and knitting especially scarves. Gail led by example in how to live life well, she embodied the lesson of love as taught by Jesus. She was a caring shepherd and good samaritan who was unselfish and quick to help others. Gail was devoted to her loving family especially spending time with her precious grandchildren. The strength of her character and capacity to cope with the challenges of her illness inspired all who knew her. She truly was a genuine hero to her loving family and many friends. Gail will be sadly missed but never forgotten as the light of life will be cherished and continue to guide others. Beloved wife of Wayne Lavallie of Sudbury. GOODDAY, BAYARD R.L;M.C. C.D. COLONEL (RET'D) - 83, Dartmouth, passed away suddenly September 23, 2005 at home. He was born in Bear River to the late Reginald and Dorothy (Bayard) Goodday. Having received his early education at Rothesay Collegiate School, NB, Bayard went on to serve overseas from 1942-1945 as a Lieutenant with the 18th Armored Car Regiment (XII Manitoba Dragoons). He received numerous decorations and service medals including the Canadian Forces Decoration and the Military Cross for Bravery. He was the Commanding Officer for the Princess Louise Frisiliers (PLF) from 1956-1959 and the appointed Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in 1986 and Honorary Colonel in 2004. During his career in commerce, Bayard served as Past President of the Canadian Food Brokers Association, National Director of Packaging Association of Canada and Past President of the Royal United Services Institute of Nova Scotia. Bayard was a past member of the Halifax Board of School Commissioners; Past President of the Family Service Bureau of Halifax; Past District Commissioner Canadian Pony Club and a past member of St. George's Society of Halifax. He was a very active member of Cathedral Church of All Saints. Bayard is survived by his daughter; Barbara Anne McInnis, North Vancouver; son Dr. Reginald (Christine) Goodday, Halifax; sisters, Joan Lugar, Bedford; Betty (Walter) Maitham, Kingston, NB; his dearly loved grandchildren, Melanie, Amy, Victoria and Hugh Goodday, Halifax; Matthew McInnis, North Vancouver; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was 93.She was born in Lawrence, daughter of the late Donat and Rose (Dubois) Charpentier. She entered the Holy Union Community in 1930.From 1934 to 1967, Sister Cecilia was a teacher in Holy Union High Schools in Pawtucket, R.I., Cambridge, and Lawrence. From 1967 to 1986, she taught piano and organ in Cambridge and Groton.In 1988, she retired at the Holy Union Community in Lowell. Since 1999, Sister Cecilia had been a resident at D'Youville Senior Care.In addition to her Holy Union Sisters, Sister Cecilia is survived by a brother, Albert, residing in Florida; a sister, Terry Gaudette, residing in Florida; and many nieces and nephews. M. l’Abbé Ernest Lévesque est né à Roberval, le 5 avril 1908, de Mme Laura Richard et de M. Georges Lévesque. Après ses études classiques et théologiques, de 1922 à 1933, il fut ordonné prêtre le 21 mai 1933 et devint professeur au Petit Séminaire de 1933 à 1935. Il fut ensuite vicaire à la cathédrale de 1935 à 1942, période durant laquelle il se consacra à la J.O.C. comme aumônier de 1939 à 1942. Après quoi, il étudia à l’Université Laval où il obtint la maîtrise ès sciences sociales en relations industrielles. Il dût refaire sa santé aux Etats-Unis en Arizona de 1946 à 1949 en aidant au ministère et revint passer quelques mois dans sa famille avant d’être nommé curé de St-Méthode de 1950 à 1963. Il demeura curé, mais cette fois à St-Pierre d’Alma, de 1963 à 1967, puis à Ste-Thérèse d’Arvida, de 1967 à 1969, pour enfin accepter une dernière cure, Notre-Dame d’Hébertville de 1969 à 1973. Il prit alors sa retraite avec résidence à Chicoutimi-Nord où il rendait service au ministère paroissial. Enfin, il décida d’aller habiter avec d’autres confrères prêtres à la Résidence Mgr-Paré chez les Soeurs Antoniennes de Marie en 1994. Il y vécut jusqu’à ces derniers jours avant de décéder à l’Hôpital de Chicoutimi. Ceux et celles qui le désirent peuvent faire des dons à la Caisse d’entraide sacerdotale du diocèse de Chicoutimi. McFARLANE, LLOYD H. - The death of Lloyd Harold McFarlane of Plumweseep, NB occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on September 25, 2005 at the age of 74. Born in Millbrook, NB a son of the late Robert and Effie (Anderson) McFarlane and step-mother Mary (Hunter) McFarlane. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church, the Korean Veteran's Association and Sussex Branch #20 Royal Canadian Legion. Lloyd spent 23 and a half years with the Canadian Armed Forces. He joined in Sussex with the Carleton York Regiment then went to Korea for ten months and became a member of the Canadian Guards and then to Princess Louise's 8th Hussars for the remainder of his career, having spent two tours in Germany and six months in Egypt. One of Lloyd's favorite pastimes was to watch and feed the birds. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 and a half years, Eileen (Murray) McFarlane, children Elaine MacDougall (James) Oxford, NS, Debera Branscombe (Ivan) Hillsborough, son Jamie McFarlane at home, daughter-in-law Mary McFarlane, Sussex, grandchildren Angel, Joe, Greg, Becky, Cassie, Ryan, Chelsea, Megan, Nathan, Sandy and Toni, great grandchildren Shelby, Damien and Carlie, sisters Phyllis Proctor, Plumweseep and Anne Thorne (Robert), Moncton, brothers Nelson (Darlene) McFarlane, Plumweseep and Edward (Ruby) McFarlane, Waterford, several nieces and nephews and his pals Quincy and Misha. She was born in Dresden, Ontario to Pheobe-Elizabeth (nee: Hyatt) and Stewart Cuthbert. Jeanne had many interests throughout her life. She was a devoted member of the Anglican Church wherever she lived. She was a writer, an artist, a musician and she loved travelling, especially within her beloved Canada. She visited her husband’s native Denmark where many of his relatives still live. Three of her articles were published in the best selling book Morning Side Papers by the late Peter Gzowski (CBC). While living in Revelstoke, B.C. she wrote a weekly article in the local newspaper "Senior Scene by Jeanne". Above all, she was a devoted mother, aunt and grandmother. Jeanne is survived by her children Gordon (Marvene) of Toronto, Alex of Belleville, Norma-Jane, Sigrid-Elizabeth (Ken) Simard all of Thunder Bay and John (Dorothy)of Thorold. Step-children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great great grandchild as well as other relatives also survive. Jeanne was predeceased by her first husband Max Miller, second husband Fred George, sister Mary (Ernest) Cullum, brother William (Vida) Cuthbert and daughter-in-law Joan Miller. Aimée McDonald (née Saquet) June 22, 1903 - September 24, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Desjardins Funeral Chapel AIMEE McDONALD (NEE SAQUET) Aimée McDonald in born Saint-Etienne de Naucoules, Commune of Saint-Affrique, Aveyron, France, June 22, 1903, has been lovingly recalled by her Creator on September 24, 2005, after having been with us for 102 years. Aimée was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sidney A. McDonald (July 11, 1966), their son Louis François Auguste (April 21, 1950), her father, Auguste Dieudonné Saquet (July 5, 1966), her mother, Marie Célina Eulalie Roger (July 2, 1959), her brothers Léon (June 9, 1994), André (July 31, 1995) and sisters Marie Augusta Lucie (September 19, 1901), Jeanne Félicie Saquet (March 24 1946), Marie Saquet (July 12, 1988) and Lucie Albina (December 23, 1993). She is survived by her daughter, Lucy (Fred), granddaughters Melinda and Dierdre (Trevor) and great grandchildren Kyle, Aimée and Bethany. Also left to mourn her passing is one remaining brother, Louis (Lili) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Aimée immigrated to Canada from France in 1906 with her parents, eldest brother Léon and her Aunt Léonie Roger and Uncle Léopold Roger. The family purchased a farm in the Laurier area. Aimée attended school at Ecole Champlain and was at the Convent in Ste. Rose du Lac for some time. However, Aimée’s help was required at home in the growing family and she was unable to get beyond grade 8. She remained on the farm helping her family for many years. In May 1940 Aimée married Sid and they moved to Woodlands for some time, but soon moved to the Ste. Rose du Lac area. Sid volunteered for duty in WW2 and, while he was overseas, she and son Louis moved back to the Saquet farm. Daughter Lucy was born during that time. Upon Sid’s return they moved back to the Ste. Rose du Lac area where they remained, sometimes in town, sometimes on the farm, until Sid’s death in 1966. During the next few years Aimée spent some time in Montréal and Brandon with her daughter and family but she always returned to Ste. Rose. In 1996 she moved to Winnipeg in order to be closer to her daughter and family. She spent some years at Columbus Manor where she made many friends and celebrated her 100th birthday. She was able to do her own shopping and cooking until she was 96 years old and continued living on her own with the help of wonderful Home Care caregivers until November, 2003 when she moved to Foyer Valade. Aimée was very active in the Ste. Rose du Lac CWL during the 1950’s and part of the 1960’s. Although Aimée left school at an early age, she nurtured her love of knowledge by reading voraciously. She became the first Librarian in Ste. Rose du Lac (the Library opened June 3, 1962) after having spent some time in Winnipeg developing the Library’s collection under the tutelage of Ms. Clémentine Combaz. Throughout her life, Aimée was known for her love of and excellence in gardening, winemaking, pattern making and sewing. In later years she was able to realize her love of nature when invited to go hiking and camping with Lucien and Cécile Lahaie, along with their daughter, Aline. These were probably the happiest years of her life. Special thanks go to the wonderful Home Care workers who made it possible for Aimée to live in her own apartment until late 2003, particularly Annette and Judy. Thanks must also go to the management and residents of Columbus Manor who were very kind to her over the years. Father Henrik Laciak of Our Lady of Victory Church was also very kind to her as were the members of the parish. In her later years, it was necessary to transport her in her wheelchair so a big thank you goes to Roger, her kind and compassionate chauffeur. A special thanks must also go to Father Robert Bernardin whom she has known for many years. He has been constant in his pastoral care and was a very good friend to her. The family extends a warm and heartfelt thank you to Foyer Valade: l’Abbé Prescott, the clients, care givers, cleaning and cooking staff, and administrators for the loving care, respect, and kindness shown Aimée. We all appreciate the compassion of the dedicated people who strove so hard to make her last months as easy as possible. PITTSFIELD -- Norman Arthur Bedard, 76, of 44 Bernard Ave. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. He had been a resident of Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility for seven months. Born in North Adams on Aug. 10, 1929, son of Arthur and Sidonie Courtemanche Bedard, he attended schools in Pittsfield and was a 1947 graduate of St. Joseph's High School. Mr. Bedard was employed by GE as a crane operator, retiring in 1989 after 42 years of service. He also had worked in its shipping department. For many years, he also was a stocker at the former Adams Super Markets. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and of IUE Local 255. He collected coins and stamps, enjoyed RV camping and walking, and was a fan of Johnny Cash. He and his wife, the former Anna S. Stavaski, were married May 28, 1949, at St. Mary's Church in Cheshire. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Arthur Norman Bedard of Pittsfield; three daughters, Brenda B. Meacham and Bonny Bedard, both of Pittsfield, and Lynn M. Bailey of Cedar Park, Texas; a sister, Phyllis Sedgwick of Dalton, and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Norman A. Gerald Gordon Goguen died Saturday, (September 24, 2005) after a lengthy illness. Born August 5, 1925 in Lynn, MA to Raymond and Viola Turgeon Goguen of Monkton, New Brunswick, Gerry grew up and lived most of his life in Bristol. He entered the United States Navy in 1943 and served aboard the USS Intrepid CVll until 1945. During his service, he earned seven bronze stars for major battles, five in the South Pacific and two in the Phillippines. Gerry worked for the General Motors Corporation in Bristol until retirement when he moved to Vermont. There he spent much of his time tending his crab apple orchard as well as building and restoring new and antique furniture. Surviving are his wife of nearly 25 years, Dorothy Goguen of Shrewsbury, VT; his son, Gerald Goguen II and his wife Rebecca of Pataluma, CA; his son Gregory Goguen and his wife Kathleen of Unionville; his daughter, Susan Woerz and her husband James of Plainville; his daughter, Michelle McGrath and her husband Kevin of Farmington; his step-daughter, Kathryn Sassu and her husband Richard of Mystic; and his step-sons, John Klimczak Jr. and Richard Marotta of Meriden. Gerry also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Sarah Woerz and Justin Woerz of Plainville; Dominic Goguen of Bristol; Jennifer McKenna of Farmington; Jacob Goguen and Adrienne Goguen of Pataluma, CA and Kari Sassu-Martin of Meriden. LYDIA - Services for Raymond J. "Chink" Jolet Sr., 87, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Fabre officiating. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery with military honors conducted by V.F.W. Post 1982 of New Iberia.Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. at Evangeline Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. until service time at St. Nicholas Church.A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Lydia, Mr. Jolet died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at his daughter's residence in Lafayette.Mr. Jolet was retired from the United States Postal Service with almost 40 years of service. He served as Postmaster in both Weeks Island and Lydia. After his retirement, he worked briefly with the Lydia Water Corp. He was a proud veteran of the Army having served his country during World War II. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 26 in Jeanerette, Knights of Columbus Council 10902 in Lydia, and a parishioner of St. Nicholas Church where he served as a lecter and assisted Fr. Many with the Healing Masses. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Matilde Delcambre Jolet of Lydia; a son, Ray Jolet and wife Claire Comeaux Jolet of Lydia; a daughter, Juliana Jolet Zimmerman and husband Keith of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Eric and Elliot Jolet, Ashley Jolet Nguyen and husband Dung, Andrea and Page Jolet, Tara Norris, Paul Zimmerman and Tiffany Z. Burt and husband Steven; six great-grandchildren, Izabell and Collin Nguyen, Bryce and Grant Norris, Brittany and Brandy Burt; two brothers, Albert Jolet Sr. and Harris Jolet both of Lydia; and a sister, Mildred Jolet Stroud of Lydia.Mr. Jolet was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ellenie Jolet; and a brother, Emmett Jolet.Pallbearers will be Ray, Jeff, John and Stephen Jolet, Donald Derise and Paul Zimmerman.Honorary pallbearers will be Eric, Elliot and Steven Jolet and Mark Leonard.Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.

SPENCER— Claire N. (Lacroix) Sugrue, 89, of 10 Linden St., died Sunday, September 25, at the Meadows of Leicester, after an illness. She was the wife of John J. Sugrue who died in 1986. She leaves a grandson, Sean September and his wife Carrie of Bristol, CT; 4 great grandchildren, Jenna and Evan September and Justin and Kaitlyn Lozier; two nephews, Jon O'Coin and his wife Joyce of Spencer and Michael Lacroix of NH; grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sheila September and a grandson, Kevin September both in 1986, a brother, Wilbur Lacroix in 1970 and a sister, Jeanette L. O' Coin in 2001. Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of Hercules and Clara L. (Baril) Lacroix. Mrs. Sugrue was a graduate of David Prouty High School and was a member of St. Mary's Church in Spencer. The funeral will be Wed., Sept. 28, from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 60 Maple St. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. A calling hour will be Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish Memorial Fund, 60 Maple St., Spencer, MA., 01562.

RUSSELL, George In loving memory of George Russell, 90 years who passed away Friday evening, September 23, 2005 at the Extendicare York Facility, Sudbury. George was born in Markstay in 1915. He had been employed at INCO for over 32 years retiring in 1981. Beloved husband of Minnie (O'Brien) Russell (predeceased). Loving father of Albert (predeceased), Alfie (wife Vivian) of Vancouver, George Jr. of Sudbury, Archie of Wahnapitae, Allan (also of Wahnapitae), Judy (predeceased), Jimmy (wife Joanne) of Sudbury, Mae (husband Leo Lamerante of Winnipeg, Peter of Sudbury (wife Melissa predeceased), Paul of Sudbury (wife Sue predeceased), Richard (wife Dorothy) of St. Catherines, Shirley (husband Doug Brown) of Sudbury, Patricia of Wahnapitae, and Kevin (wife Nicole) of Sudbury. Dear son of Norman and Rosa Russell (both predeceased). Proud grandfather of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear brother of Allan (wife Elaine), Ernie (wife Ruby) and Rosie (all predeceased), and Norman (wife Mamie) of Sudbury and Elsie of Sudbury (husband John Tonner predeceased).
