Larose, Martin Joseph Gerald, of Hearst - Date of Death: September 10th, 2005 - The funeral service for Hearst resident Martin Joseph Gérald Larose was held Sept. 10, 2005. Born May 17, 1984 in Hearst, he was an École secondaire de Hearst Class of 2002 graduate and a the double-A Midget Élans. Also an aspiring songster and musician who recorded his own music while playing locally with his group (called the Unknown), he was a comic who was described as protective, sociable, charitable, generous and attentive. Prior to his 2001-2002 all-star season as assistant captain with the AA Élans in the Quebec-based Abitibi-Témiscamingue Norbord League Élans, Mr Larose played two seasons with the triple-A Onaping Falls. Predeceased by his grandmother Alice Veilleux in 2004, he leaves parents Diane and Gerry Larose, and sisters Julie (Rhéal Arsenault), Stéphanie and Mélissa Larose, all of Hearst. Rev. Rémi Lessard directed the service, assisted by Reverends Jean-Marc Pelletier, Jean-Roch Pelletier and Gérald Chalifoux, at Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral. During the service, Mr. Larose’s electric guitar was dislayed on stage. A recording of his song "Where Do We Go Now" was played following reading by Chantal B. Gagnon of the tribute letter written by his sister Mélissa Larose. Also as a tribute, Ms Larose sang the 1995 J. J. Goldman-penned, Céline Dion-recorded hit "Vole" (literally, "Fly Away"), accompanied by keyboardist Manon Longval-Veilleux. Commemorative donations may be made to Hearst KidSport and Hearst Services de Counselling.

La famille accueillera les parents et ami(e)s à compter de 14 h, le lundi 26 septembre 2005 à la Maison Mère des Soeurs Antoniennes de Marie 927 Jacques-Cartier Est, Chicoutimi Les heures d’accueil sont: lundi de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 21 h 30. Mardi, jour des funérailles, le salon sera ouvert à compter de 9 h. Les funérailles auront lieu le mardi 27 septembre 2005 à 10 h 30 dans la chapelle des Soeurs Antoniennes à l’adresse précitée. Il était également le frère de feu le Révérend Père Georges-Henri o.p., feu l’abbé Maurice, feu Gilberte (feu Paul Gagné), feu Dr René (Yvette Baril), feu Léonce (feu Armande Tessier), feu Auguste, feu Sr Yvonne, Ursuline. feu Sr Jeanne, Ursuline, feu Roland et feu Mme Gaby Lévesque Gail. M. l’Abbé Ernest Lévesque est né à Roberval, le 5 avril 1908, de Mme Laura Richard et de M. Georges Lévesque. Après ses études classiques et théologiques, de 1922 à 1933, il fut ordonné prêtre le 21 mai 1933 et devint professeur au Petit Séminaire de 1933 à 1935. Il fut ensuite vicaire à la cathédrale de 1935 à 1942, période durant laquelle il se consacra à la J.O.C. comme aumônier de 1939 à 1942. Après quoi, il étudia à l’Université Laval où il obtint la maîtrise ès sciences sociales en relations industrielles. Il dût refaire sa santé aux Etats-Unis en Arizona de 1946 à 1949 en aidant au ministère et revint passer quelques mois dans sa famille avant d’être nommé curé de St-Méthode de 1950 à 1963. Il demeura curé, mais cette fois à St-Pierre d’Alma, de 1963 à 1967, puis à Ste-Thérèse d’Arvida, de 1967 à 1969, pour enfin accepter une dernière cure, Notre-Dame d’Hébertville de 1969 à 1973. Il prit alors sa retraite avec résidence à Chicoutimi-Nord où il rendait service au ministère paroissial. Enfin, il décida d’aller habiter avec d’autres confrères prêtres à la Résidence Mgr-Paré chez les Soeurs Antoniennes de Marie en 1994. Il y vécut jusqu’à ces derniers jours avant de décéder à l’Hôpital de Chicoutimi. Ceux et celles qui le désirent peuvent faire des dons à la Caisse d’entraide sacerdotale du diocèse de Chicoutimi. Une personne responsable pourra les recevoir au salon. ARBEAU, TINA MARY The death of Tina Mary Arbeau wife of the late Vincent Arbeau occurred on Friday September 23, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Blackville, NB she was the daughter of the late Howard and Annie (Patterson) Arbeau. Tina is survived by three sons Gary Arbeau (Dolly DeYoung) of Fredericton, NB, Boyd Arbeau (Lenora) of Camsack, SK and Vincent Arbeau (Sherry) of Camsack, SK; five daughters Iva Basque (Fernand) of Waasis, NB, Jeneeve Beek (Ralph) of Ripples, NB, Alfreda White of Calgary, AB, Alberta Roy (Hector) of Edmonton, AB and Kay Dupuis of Fredericton, NB; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Josephine C. Little 1912 - 2005 Josephine Little, 93, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, September 23, 2005. Born in Beersville, Kent Co. August 21, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Catherine (Fahey) Reid. She is survived by her daughter, with whom she resided, Roberta Chisholm (Michael), as well as daughters, Audrey Little (Bill Nichol), Jean Fenwick (Jim); grandchildren, Jamie, Anne, Cathy, and Jimmy; a great granddaughter, Madeline; and several nieces and nephews. ANDERSON, Rosalie (McMullan) Passed away peacefully at Trillium Centre on Friday, September 23, 2005 at the age of 87. She was born on November 30, 1917 to David and Margaret McMullan in Belfast, Ireland. Rosalie came to Canada in 1921. On April 27, 1940 she married Roy Anderson. Rosalie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Roy, three children, daughter Maureen Gizzi and son-in-law Geno, Rome, NY, daughter Patricia Gentile, Syracuse, NY and son Michael Anderson and daughter-in-law Anna, Spruce Grove, Alberta. She is also survived by her brother and his wife Sydney and Norma McMullan in British Columbia. Other siblings, David, William, and Edith predeceased her by several years. Rosalie is lovingly remembered by grandchildren Joseph, Debra, Karen, Cheryl and Arin, and great-grandchildren Danielle, Kristen, Ethan, Zachary, Alexander, Matthew, Stephanie and Emily. She was predeceased by granddaughter Lisa and great-grandson Brian. A superb homemaker she spent her entire life leading and loving her family. Her primary outside interests were in gardening her flowers and vegetables and also exploring and in that capacity, actually visited all Canadian provinces and several US Civil Way Battlefields. Her outstanding pleasure was one trip from the furthest East point in Newfoundland to the furthest point West in British Columbia. Her family will miss her terribly and wants to express their gratitude to the staff of Trillium Centre for the quality and quantity of sincere caring that was provided during her brief stay there. Mr. Pelletier was born on March 9, 1918 in Matheson. He worked at the Experimental Farm. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his friend Thérèse, sons Roger (Jacqueline), Léo (Margot), Réal (Lorraine), Raymond, Jean-Guy, Gerry and Rolland Pelletier, all of Kapuskasing, and Denis (Marguerite) of Val Gagné, and daughters Cécile (Gerry) Lepage of Iroquois Falls, Denise (Gérard) Fortier of Moonbeam and Hélène (Denis) Dufour of Kap. She was co-owner with her sons of the Spirit Haus Liquor Store in Amherst. Valma was a communicant of Holy Cross Church in Holyoke, a member of the Gold Star Wives Club, Catholic Women's Club and the Skinner Coffee Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Major Marvin J. Spence, Sr. who served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War during which he was shot down and missing in action in September of 1950. Cormier, 57, a Dracut resident who was a teacher for more than three decades in Pelham, died yesterday, Sept. 25, at Saints Memorial Hospital in Lowell, after a lengthy illness.She was born in Lowell, Feb. 18, 1948, daughter of Irene (Lussier) Cormier of Dracut, and the late Real A. (Ralph) Cormier. She attended Ste. Therese Elementary, St. Louis Academy and Lowell State Teachers' College.Prior to her retirement in 2002, Miss Cormier was a second-grade teacher at the Sherburne School in Pelham for 33 years.Her greatest pastime was reading and she loved animals.Besides her mother, she is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard F. and Mary Cormier of Townsend, Paul D. and Obe Cormier of Newton, N.C.; a sister, Suzanne A. Cormier of Methuen; two nieces, Michelle and Kristina Cormier both of Townsend; an aunt, Sister Lucille Cormier, asv of Worcester; and an uncle, Raymond Lussier of Dracut. WORCESTER— Loretta A. (DesRosiers) (Packard) Morey, 83, of Dillon Street died on Friday, September 23 peacefully at home after a short illness. She leaves two sons Donald W. Packard and his wife Irene of Worcester and Richard B. Packard of Boulder, CO; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Edward J. Morey; three brothers Edmund, Milton, and Ralph; and three sisters Jeannette, Anita, and Madeline. Born in Worcester she was the daughter of William H. and Albina O. (Riopel) DesRosiers. Mrs. Morey worked for the David Clark Company, Jantzen and Mary Jane Clothes for many years as a seamstress and a floor manager. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and gardening. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at 10 AM in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. DUFORD, Myrna Y. - Wife of Wallace T. Duford for forty-four years, passed away in her home on Saturday, September 24, 2005. Mrs. Duford was born in Flint, MI on November 2, 1935, daughter of the late Isadore and Evelyn Goldenberg. She is survived by her husband, Wallace, and her sisters Eileen (David) Miller and Peppy (Morris) Rosenthal. She was preceded in death by her sister, Leah (Charles) Jankowski. WORCESTER— Ruth B. (Banks) Germain, Ferrantino, 88, formerly of 33 Crillon Rd., passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 24th, in the Knollwood Nursing Home. Her husband, Joseph L. Ferrantino, passed away in 1979. She is survived by her children, Patricia and her husband Antonio Gaspar of Millbury, Joseph F. and his wife Patricia Ferrantino of Leicester, Cindy A. and her husband Jeffrey Sisterhenm of Oxford; sisters, A. June Lazar and Pearl Curran both of Worcester; 11 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. A son, Leonard L. Germain died in 1997, and a daughter, Lois Moulton died in 1977. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Alfred and Blanche (Gaulin) Banks. Ruth was the rectory cook for St. John's Church more than 8 years before retiring. She also did volunteer work there. Ruth loved cooking, sewing, reading and watching her soap operas. The funeral will be held Tuesday, September 27th, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. John Church, 44 Temple St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. She was a 1974 graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister. Due to her caring nature, she was a dedicated nurse and was always helpful and considerate to others.Besides her husband and mother, she leaves a loving son, Steven M. WESTPORT -- Stefania "Steffie" (Szwaja) Gauthier, 88, of Acushnet died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at her daughter's home. She was the widow of Francis L. Gauthier who died a year ago. A lifelong resident of Acushnet, she was the daughter of the late Wojciech and Magdalena (Jurosz) Szwaja. She was a high school graduate. Mrs. Gauthier was a bookkeeper for Acushnet Process . She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, Acushnet, and member of the USO. She was known by all of her family and friends as a great lady. Mrs. Gauthier enjoyed sewing, being a caretaker for many of her family members and friends, and taking care of her rock garden. She also enjoyed being host, along with her late husband, to Labor Day weekend clambake reunions. Survivors include a son, David Gauthier, and his wife, Anne Mirth, of Sterling; three daughters, Madeleine Lowe, and her husband, Steven, of Canterbury, N.H., Eileen Gilroy, and her husband, Michael, of Narragansett, R.I., and Diane Kozak, and her husband, Karl, of Westport; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late John, Paul, Mike, Stefan and Theodore Szwaja. Her funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church, Acushnet.
