HOWELL, HERBERT H. The passing of Herbert Henry Howell of Upper Kingsclear, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 20, 2005. He was 84. Born October 26, 1920 in England, he was a son of the late Charles and Eva (Ward) Howell. Herbert was a very active member of the Second Kingsclear Baptist Church where he was an Honorary Deacon. He served his church faithfully, teaching Sunday School and at one time was Sunday School Superintendent as well as being an active choir member and Youth Group Leader. Herbert served with the R.C.A.F. during WWII. He was a carpenter by trade having worked at Base Gagetown as a carpenter. He also farmed and owned a lumber mill where he would employ as many young men in the community as possible. At one time, he owned and operated Howell's General Store. He retired from School District No. 18 where he was employed as a school bus driver. He is survived by Frances (Hood) Howell, his loving and devoted wife of 63 years; he will be sadly missed by his children, Beth Grass (Larry) of Lake George, Wendy Hood (Alton) of Magundy, Keith Howell (Jane) of Upper Kingsclear, Lorna Donahue (Leon) of New Market, NB, Charles Howell (Susan) of Upper Kingsclear, Paul Howell (Carol Joy) of Hanwell, Donna Newton (Russ) of Upper Kingsclear and Robert Howell (Elaine) of Lincoln, NB; 24 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a sister, Cicely Kilburn of Calgary and a brother Ralph Howell (Vera) of Silverwood; numerous nieces and nephews. Resting at the Second Kingsclear Baptist Church on Thursday, September 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the church on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 2:30 PM. Rev. Predeceased by Eugene, her loving husband of 44 years, her parents Jane (Snoddon) and Raymond Meikle, brothers Wilfred (Paulette of North Bay) and Gordon. Loving mother of Gail Ainger (Dave deceased) of Sturgeon Falls and Gilbert and his wife Ginette of Astorville. Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by Michelle, Kerry and Jess Ainger and Tria, Gatien and Justin Souliere as their joyful and helpful Granny. Dearly loved sister of Mae Murphy (Guy) of North Bay and Ken (Bev) of Peterborough. Phyllis, born in Vermont on 1926, enjoyed an active, gratifying and fulfilling life in North Bay and Astorville, until her recent final battle began in April. She was a very active and devoted 47 year member of the O.R.P., having spent countless hours helping raise funds for the organizations many worthwhile causes. Her unending love of curling, despite two hip replacements provided her 30 years of enjoyment as a member of N.C.C. Phyllis shall remain an inspiration to her 28 nieces and nephews and her many friends and relatives who recognized her devotion to helping them and others above herself. Phyllis's family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, September 22nd at 11 a.m. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. BEAUVAIS, ALBERT G., 72, of Maureen Dr., died Monday at home. He was the beloved husband of Liette (Boisvert) Beauvais for 48 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Laura (Leduc) Beauvais. Mr. Beauvais had worked for American Insulated Wire of Pawtucket for 39 years, retiring as a sales manager in the bulk wire division. After retiring, he worked as a driver for many local funeral homes. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Okinawa and Japan. He played amateur ice hockey with the Rhody Oldies until age 72.Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Lucille Beauvais of Glocester and her companion, Charles Salisbury, II; two sons, Paul and his wife Deborah of Smithfield, Michael and his wife Laurie of N. DRACUT -- Elizabeth A. Goudrault, 97, a longtime Dracut resident, died early Saturday afternoon, Sept. 17, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Gerard J. Goudrault, who died in 1992.She was born in Lowell on May 9, 1908, daughter of the late Cyrille and Marie (Ouellette) Bernier. She lived most of her life in Dracut.Mrs. Goudrault cared for many close family members. She also enjoyed taking care of animals and flowers.Mrs. Goudrault was a former communicant of St. Theresa Church.She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Therese and Leo Spenard of Lowell; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul Goudrault, of Dracut, with whom she resided, and Arthur and Barbara Goudrault of Virginia; five grandchildren and their spouses, Diane Ogata and her husband, Guy, of Hawaii, Ann Marie Rosa and her husband, Rick, of Lowell, Denise and Eric Chase of Calif., Jonathan Goudrault and Sara Goudrault of Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Richard and Marianne Rosa, and Maia Chase; and many nieces and nephews.Mrs. Goudrault was the last remaining sibling of 13 children. NEW BEDFORD -- Germaine G. (Chauveau) Sylvia, 96, of New Bedford died of natural causes Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at The Oaks. She was the widow of Anthony S. Sylvia. Born in Canada, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Georgianna (Pinard) Chauveau. She lived in Acushnet for 50 years and moved to New Bedford 21 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, Acushnet. She worked as a hand sewer in local factories until she retired. Mrs. Sylvia enjoyed watching game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family. Survivors include a son, Leo H. Sylvia, and his wife, Gertrude, of New Bedford; a daughter, Doris M. Diaz-Rubin of Arizona; three sisters, Gabrielle Voghel of Waterbury, Conn., Marion Swift of Cape Cod and Angeline Serra of Florida; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Henry Chauveau and Irene Turgeon. Her funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Julie Mae Daigle Gravois, a homemaker, died Friday, September 16, 2005. She was 66. Mrs. Gravois was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Metairie, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart of Jesus High School and an Alumni Board Member. She was a 33 year local volunteer with the Southeast Louisiana Girl Scout Council. She was a 25 year member of the Crescent City International Dancers and an 18 year member with the local Israeli Dancers. Mrs. Gravois was the beloved wife of Edward John Gravois, Sr. The Loving Mother of three daughters, Collette G. Leto, Melanie G. Saxton, and Lydia G. Appling; and two sons, Edward J. Gravois, Jr. and Daniel P. Gravois. She is survived by three sisters, Marie Clare D. Liuzza, Jeanne D. DeVille, and Sister Juliette Marie Daigle, SSND, and one brother, Nelson J. Daigle, Jr. Mrs Gravois is the Loving Grandmother of eleven grandchildren. Robert A. Dezotell, "Bob' age 63, of Hibbing, MN, died among family in McVille, ND on Monday, September 19, of leukemia. Bob was born on March 6, 1942 in Grand Forks, ND, to Fred and Alpha Tangen Dezotell, where he graduated from Central High School and went on to attend the University of North Dakota. He was stationed in Germany while with the United States Army and returned to Grand Forks to begin a long and successful career in the hospitality business. Bob began his career at the Westward Ho and went on to found Dezotell's Steak n Stein in 1973. He was also part owner of Whitey's in East Grand Forks, MN, and the Esquire Club in Dickinson, ND. Bob's career spanned more than four decades, and his hospitality philosophy was based on what he termed "The Pineapple Principle'. Bob lived his life by this philosophy and believed we all have the opportunity to give to everyone we meet. Bob's professional career included hotel management in Florida, Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. At present, he was managing the Hibbing Park Hotel & Suites in Hibbing, MN, for Jeno Paulucci. Bob was a mentor who touched many lives, both personally and professionally. He was a talented artist and watercolorist and a great friend to many. LEWISTON - Gertrude A. Fournier of Ste. Marguerite d'Youville Pavilion, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 20, with her family at her side.She was born at Ste. Marie Beauce, Quebec, on Aug. 6, 1916, the daughter of Gedeon and Celina Drouin Jalbert. She was educated in the Auburn school system.She was married to Maurice B. Fournier; he passed away in 1971. She worked most of her life at the Bates Mill and for her husband, who was a furrier.She was a member of Holy Cross Church and also the Holy Cross Senior Citizens, prior to her illness. She loved to cook, play the piano and entertain at family gatherings. In later years, she enjoyed going to Florida in the winters while taking care of the Rev. Antonio Gendron. Over the years, she has made many friends and will be sadly missed.Survivors include two sons, Normand A. Fournier and his wife, Sandra, of Lewiston, and Gerald P. Fournier and his wife, Ann, of Wales; a daughter, Judy Woodcock and her husband, Bill, of Tyler, Texas; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Jalbert; and two sisters, Germaine Martel of Auburn and Corrine Dupere of Pennsylvania.She was predeceased by two brothers, Pete and Arthur Jalbert; and three sisters, Antoinette Poisson, Julliette Bilodeau and Eva Chasse.

DURHAM - Lorraine C. He was predeceased by a daughter Rita Logan in 2000, and a grandson Timothy Hormidas Logan in 1980. Mr. LaFlamme was a painter and wallpaperer for TP Morin Co. in Southbridge. He was well know for his work in preservation and rehabilitation of historical buildings in the area. He was a longtime member and on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Rod and Gun Club where he taught gun safety courses, and chaired several events. He ran the gun club’s fishing derby and received a recognition plaque for his outstanding achievments at the club. A private graveside service will be held at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Sturbridge. HULL - '' Roy H. Lafleur, 78, died Monday at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.He was the husband of Pauline L. (Manville) Lafleur for 55 years. Mr. Lafleur was born and raised in Chicopee. He served in the Army from 1946 to 1952 and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a hoisting engineer- crane operator for 39 years, and his career took him all over New England. He retired in 1987. He and his family lived in Falmouth until 1984 when he moved to Hull. He and his wife spent several years traveling the country in their RV. He enjoyed fishing, boating and NASCAR. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus in Falmouth and belonged to the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 98 and Local 4. Besides his wife, survivors include four children, Marline A. Stein and Allen R. Lafleur, both of Hull, David W. Lafleur of Nantucket and Lisa M. Steeley of Portsmouth, R.I.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ann's Church, Hull. Burial is in Hull Village Cemetery. Pregent, 88, formerly of Willard Street, Malone, N.Y., died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at the home of her son, Rene Pregent.Born Aug. 24, 1912, in Rouses Point, N.Y., she was the daughter of Roy and Mae White Marnes.She married Eudore Pregent, longtime proprietor of Marion's Restaurant in Malone, N.Y., Sept. 21, 1942, in Albany, N.Y. He predeceased her in 1992.She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rene and Allison Pregent of Monson, Mass., and Michael Pregent of Malone, N.Y.; and one grandson, Joe Pregent of Manson, Mass.She lived her life in Rouses Point, N.Y., and graduated from Rouses Point High School in 1936. She then worked for a year and then went on to attend Champlain Valley School of Nursing, graduating with her registered nursing degree in 1941. In 1941, she became employed by the Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone, N.Y., as a registered nurse. She retired in 1978. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church.There will be no calling hours. MILLBURY— Jeanne M. (Morin) Bergeron, 91, formerly of 95 Elm St., died on Sunday, September 18, 2005, in Millbury Health Care Center. Her husband of 50 years, Armand E. Bergeron, died in 1990. She leaves their son, Paul P. Bergeron and his wife Mary C. (Miron) Bergeron of Barre; 2 granddaughters: Karen M. Bergeron of Worcester and Lisa A. MicKunas of Millbury; a great-granddaughter, Melissa R. MicKunas of Millbury; 2 brothers: Philemon Morin of Lakeland, FL, and Rene O. Morin of Millbury; 2 sisters: Leona A. Lebel and Frances D. Pelletier, both of Millbury; and nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester on January 10, 1914, a daughter of the late Philemon and Anna (Couture) Morin and was raised there. She moved to Millbury in 1957. She attended St. Joseph’s High School, Worcester. Mrs. Bergeron worked as a salesclerk for over 25 years, first at the John C. McGuines Co. department store and then at Richard Healy Co. apparel store, both in Worcester. She then worked as a Senior Aide for the Millbury Council on Aging for 3 years and as an Assistant Librarian at the Millbury Public Library for 12 years before retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Parish, the Millbury Golden Age Club, serving as its secretary for several years, and the Millbury Council On Aging and its Chorus for whom she was a piano accompianist and soloist. Her funeral will be Saturday, Sep. 24, from Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Brigid Catholic Church, 59 Main St. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, West and Waters Sts. Harold Otto Billson July 08, 1913 - September 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Harold Billson at St. Boniface Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) on Saturday, September 17, 2005. Dad slipped away comfortably and quietly in the final stage of leukemia. Harold will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by family: his wife Alice; his three children Karen (Stephen Kline), Bruce (Erin Billson) and Lori; and his grandchildren Erin, David, Britt and Olivia. He is survived by his sister Kay and brother Victor and is predeceased by sisters Ruth and Margaret. He will be fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Born on July 8, 1913 in Woodlands Manitoba, Harold grew up in the community of Inwood where he met and married his wife of 61 years Alice Moan. In 1946 he returned from service in the Navy, locating in Charleswood and working for Bristol Aerospace for 37 years until retirement in 1980. Dad’s inner self came to life with his retirement. He embraced curling, golf, cross-country skiing and his life long passion for cars as a member of the Manitoba Classic and Antique Auto club. He gave time in many ways to his community, reaching out to those in need and was awarded for his 20 years of service with Meals on Wheels. Harold had an unparalleled zest for life. He took unending pleasure in trips, travel and celebrations. Family, friends and community were close to his heart. Keeping in touch with friends, seeking out family and relations from Scandinavia and in the latter years caring tenderly and lovingly for our Mum were the legacy of our Dad. These qualities will live forever in our memories. Harold appreciated the community of supportive staff and the many friendships made during the last four years while living at the Metropolitan Kiwanis Centre. A special thank-you to Yvonne, a mainstay of his support. The family would also like to thank Dr. Duane Hartley, Dad’s family physician of 6 years and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care in Dad’s final days. Cremation and a private interment attended by immediate family took place. A memorial service will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Friday, September 23 at 3:00 p.m..
