Margaret Molly Berrow (née Eastman) August 18, 1929 - September 19, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Duncan) Margaret was born to Korah and Vera Eastman in North Battleford, SK on August 18, 1929. She passed away peacefully September 19, 2005. She is predeceased by brothers Wilson, Pat and sister Pearl and her grandson Leland. Marg is lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Rusty Berrow, children Daphne Eze, Sandra Kroek (John), Ginny Neville, Alex Berrow and grandchildren Bodie, Tyler, Katie and Jacob. She is survived by sisters and brothers Gwen, Shirley, Lois (Ozzie), Elinor, Bob (Mary), Allie (Dick), Alan (Shirley), Terry (Nola), Richard (Trudy), Sheila (Walter), and Sandy. When she was a young child her family moved to Chemainus where they spent happy years growing up in a large family. Marg and Rusty married September 2, 1950 and raised their family in Duncan mostly, some summers living in logging camps. Marg was a doer, always the first one to pitch in and get the job done. No task was too big for her to tackle, she loved a challenge. She was always cheerful and a real encouragement to her friends and family. She loved to help those who needed a kind word or deed. Marg liked to keep busy and was hard to keep up with, even when she became a senior. She loved carving, camping and pitching horseshoes. She held her family and friends close to her heart. She trusted in God, He has been her Peace and her Strength. We will miss her so. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 531 Herbert Street, Duncan, BC.

Survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Beattie retired as a school teacher after more than 40 years of service, was a member of the Teachers' Federation and the Catholic Women's League. HODGSON, John Albert Peacefully in his sleep on September 17, 2005 in his 97th year. Survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Eileen Louise (nee Bickford), three sons, Ronald (wife Jocelyne) of Ottawa, Christopher (wife Margaret) of White Rock and Neil (wife Brenda) of Ajax, 9 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Born and raised in Yorkshire, England he was a bright student and an avid sportsman. After leaving school he worked as a municipal clerk until being called-up to serve in WW2. Following the war he became a school teacher and emigrated with his family to Canada in 1951 where he eventually retired in 1973 as head of the English Department at A.N. Myer School in Niagara Falls. John was an alumni of McMaster University (B.A. 1958) and of Queens University (Hon B.A. 1964). He was a humanist with a strong social conscience, always cheerful, kind and gentle, with an original turn of phrase and a marvelous sense of humour. He will be forever lovingly remembered by his family, friends and former students. A memorial gathering will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, reception to follow. GOLDSMITH, Sidney (Sid). Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on September 17, 2005 at the age of eighty-three. He leaves behind his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Jeanne, affectionately known as Jimmy, his children: Jacqueline, Catherine (Jerry), Jennifer (Stephen), Geoffrey (Wendy) and Terence, his grandchildren: Shane, Jesse, Christopher, Melissa, Mariah, Gwyneth and Evelyn, his sisters; Ellen and Adele, his brothers Kenneth and Jack. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mabel, by his brother Charles and his sister Dorothy. Sid enlisted in the RCAF and served overseas during World War II. After attending the Ontario College of Art, he joined the National Film Board where he worked as an accomplished animator, director and producer for thirty-six years. PAPP, Margaret Ann Passed away peacefully at the Leisureworld Care Giving Centre in Barrie on Monday, September 19th, 2005. Margaret (nee Vayda) in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late John Charles Papp. Dear mother of Gabriella (Bobbie) Massey and her husband Wayne of Cleveland, Ohio, son Thomas Papp and Lisetta of Innisfil and daughter Margaretta Papp-Belayneh and her husband Tamerat (Tam) of Barrie . Loving grandmother of to John and Susan Massey, Michael and Steven Papp; and Katherine Lee. Loving great-grandmother to Philip, Sharissa, Jannessa, Alexis and Tiffany. She was born in Bonfield and married Isidore Bellaire in 1940 in Bonfield. After she was married Eva moved to Coniston. She was a Roman Catholic. MAKINEN-HILL, Aune (nee Niemi) In loving memory of Aune Makinen-Hill, 90 years, who passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005 at Finlandia Koti, Sudbury. Beloved wife of Arvi Makinen predeceased 1961 and Orvo Hill predeceased 1995. Daughter of Isaac and Lovisa (nee Freeman) Niemi both predeceased. Dear sister of Aili Mason of Sudbury and predeceased by Ellen Taipala, Annie Ristimaki, Elsie and Aini. Will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Aune was born in Sudbury. She was a member of the Lutheran faith. Aune enjoyed her winters in Florida and was one of the first members of the SouthSide Seniors Club. She was a volunteer at the nursing homes, involved in bowling and loved to square dance. Aune will be remembered for her good sense of humour and her eagerness to help others. She will be sadly missed and never forgotten. LIDSTONE, John "Duke" Joseph In loving memory of John "Duke" Joseph Lidstone, 88 years, who passed away Monday, September 19, 2005 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Center. Beloved husband of Jean (Vondette) Lidstone predeceased. Loving father of Janet of Sudbury and Kirk predeceased. Cherished grand- father of Bonnie, Barbara, Douglas and great-grandchildren Cody, Angela, Elizabeth and Isabella. Dear son of Joseph and Lillian Lidstone both predeceased. Dear brother of Ena Strom of Blind River, Coleen Rouselle of Blind River, predeceased by Gordon, Bonnie, Kate, Ellen and Ina. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Born in Blind River, he married Jean in Sudbury in 1938. Duke retired from INCO with 30 years of service. He was proud to serve with the RCAF during World War II. Doris Baxter Granger passed away peacefully Sunday, September 18, 2005 at her son's home in Fleming Island, Florida. Doris, daughter of the late James Allen Baxter and Effie Camille Baxter was born in Dellwood, Florida on September 5, 1926. She married James W. Granger, Sr., on August 30, 1948 and remained his loving wife until his death on January 17, 1990. Doris was a caring and compassionate friend to many. She had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, which saw her through the challenging times of her life. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her happiest times were spent with granddaughters Kelly and Sarah whom she loved dearly. She was affiliated with Orange Park Country Club, The Ravines and other charitable, civic and social organizations during her life time. Doris is survived by her son, James W. Granger, Jr., and his wife Honey; granddaughters, Kelly Leigh and Sarah Grayson Granger of Gainesville, Florida; brother, Ralph Baxter (Cora Lee) of Dellwood, Florida; sister-in-law, Jimmie Hugh “Boo” Granger of Winter Park, Florida; brother-in-law, Herbert Johnson “Johnny” Granger (Cindy) of Havana, Florida; guardian angel and caregiver, Toni E. Leo Edward Beaulieu, born on September 23, 1916 in Galveston, TX went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2005 in Floresville, TX. He was employed with East Texas Distributing and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in WWII, earning a Purple Heart, Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star, Atlantic-Pacific Campaign Medal, an American Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Star and a Good Conduct Medal. Leo was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Angelo Giusti and Aniceto Giusti, Jr. Leo is survived by his loving wife, Lee Alice Beaulieu; son, Leo E. Jeannette (Beauregard) Dupuis Luzi, 98, of Bristol, widow of Donat Dupuis and John Luzi, died Monday at Bristol Hospital. Mrs. Luzi was born August 11, 1907 in Central Village and was a daughter of the late Alfred and Eva (Stringer) Beauregard. She was a longtime Bristol resident, a member of St. Ann Church and was employed at the former E. Ingraham Company prior to her retirement. Mrs. Luzi is survived by two sons, The Rev. Brother Ronald Dupuis of Pascoag, RI and Larry Dupuis of New York City; a daughter, Jackie McHughes of Bristol; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Dennis Dupuis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 21, 11:15 a.m., at St. Ann Church, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Henry J. Beauvais, 62 of Churchville, PA died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005 at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington. Born in Lithuania, Mr. Beauvais was a former resident of Philadelphia before moving to Churchville in 1979. Henry worked for the Philadelphia I nquirer for over 30 years retiring in 2001. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Richboro. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all who knew him. Son of the late Leon and Antanina Lauriskyte Beauvais, he is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years Mary Sadinauskas Beauvais, his two daughters; Sabrina Yousfi of Holland, PA and Kristina Beauvais of Churchville. Also survived by his brother Leon Beauvais of West Trenton, NJ.
