ROCHESTER — Antoinette B. Tremblay, 94, formerly of Wellsweep Acres, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation of Rochester following a period of failing health.Born Aug. 27, 1911, in Rochester, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Olivine (Custeau) Desaulnier. She worked as a winder at the Gonic Woolen Mill for many years. She was a communicant of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Gonic. She enjoyed playing cards with her sisters and gardening.Members of her family include her daughter, Rita Bevins of Portsmouth; a foster son, Rene Therrien of Rochester; two grandchildren, Jason Bickford of Tempe, Ariz., and Chad Bickford of Portsmouth; three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Beatrice Wentworth of Chelmsford, Mass., Lillian Routhier of Flint, Mich.; several nieces and nephews.Her husband, Ernest Tremblay, predeceased her in 1969.There will be no calling hours.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Leo's Church located on Main St. in Gonic.Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Gonic.Arrangements are under the direction of the R.M. DESCHANE, ARTHUR H., SR., 79, of Palm Bay, FL, and formerly of South Kingstown, died August 26th at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, FL. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Moore) Deschane. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Henry O. and Muriel W. (Johnson) Deschane. Mr. Deschane was a watch engineer for Narragansett Electric Co. for thirty-five years before retiring. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran and a member of the Crompton Veterans.Besides his wife he leaves his children, Arthur Deschane of Roseland, FL, Patricia Deschane of East Greenwich, Paul Deschane of West Warwick, David Deschane of Warwick; his sister Beverly Allen of Warwick and four grandchildren. Racette, Rita Blanche Mt. Morris, Michigan Age 80 years, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Rita was born June 7, 1925 in Hamtramck, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and Lauria (Bourgeois) Duhaime. She and Edward Racette were united in marriage July 27, 1946 in St. Michael Church in Pinconning. Rita and Edward worked together as a great team. She worked outside the home and Edward helped around the homestead. She worked for Yankee Store for 30 years. Rita enjoyed flowers and gardening. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren meant the world to her and she always put her family first. Survivors include: 4 sons: Edward T. and wife, Gay Racette of Marlette, Terry and wife, Judy Racette of Millington, Ronald Racette of Holly, Daniel Racette of Flint; daughter, Connie & Percy Gibson of Mio; 6 grandchildren: Ricky Racette, Tony Racettte, Eddie Racette, Rebecah Racette, Jennifer Racette, Nicole Racette; 2 great grandchildren, Owen Edward and Devon. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward March 13, 1995 and son, Aldric in 1984; sister, Jeanette Byrnes and brother, Robert Duhaime. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be at Flint Memorial Park. WORCESTER— Floride M. (McCarthy) Picard, 92, of Chadwick St.died Wed. Aug. 31 in the UMass Med. Ctr., Worcester. She was the wife of the late George E. Picard who died in 1990. Her first husband, Roland N. Picard, died in 1971. A resident of Sutton until 1980, she was employed at Paul Revere Life Insurance for 23 years before retiring in 1975. During WWII, she once worked at the former Whitin Machine Works, Whitins. Prior to that time, she had worked at the Juniper Hill Golf Club in Northborough. She later moved to Southern California until 1991. She lived in Lincoln, NE until returning to Worc. in 2004. Mrs. Picard was born on Feb. 6, 1913 in Sutton, the daughter of the late Prosper and Delima (Plante) McCarthy and was a graduate of Sutton High School in 1930. Mrs. Picard was a member of the Worcester Choristers for several years and was a part of the annual productions of “The Messiah”. She also was a member of the Sutton Historical Society, Past Worthy Matron of Miriam Chapter, O.E.S. in E. Douglas, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary - John Mateychuk Post, Manchaug. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, needle crafts, and traveling. Also, she was a longtime member of the former First Baptist Church in Manchaug Mrs. Picard is survived by her son, Peter R. Picard and his wife Nancy of Clinton and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her 3 brothers, Ovide “Mac” McCarthy, Leodore “Bill” McCarthy, and Edgar McCarthy; a sister, Aldea Peterson, and a step-sister, Anna Briggs. Goulet, Kenneth L. -- Bay City, Michigan -- Mr. Goulet, age 51 years, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at his residence. He was born January 5, 1954 in Bay City to Clinton L. and Marian (Short) Goulet. Ken graduated from John Glenn High School. He retired from the Eaton Corporation less than a year ago after 34 years of dedicated service. Surviving is a daughter, Brittany Goulet; two step-children, Eric and Brenda Lemmer; his mother and father, Clinton and Marian Goulet; three brothers: Larry and Kim, Duane and Kathy, and Clint and Amy Goulet; several nieces, nephews, and close friends, Bruce and Sally Dixon. AVON, CONN. - Eugene George Angers, 80, of Keystone Circle, Avon, Conn., beloved husband of Nancy (Spencer) Angers, died early Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, with his beloved wife, Nancy and daughter, Mary Ellen Angers, at his bedside. He was born March 11, 1925, in Springfield, Mass., the son of Henry E. and Annette (Berube) Angers. In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by two sons, Thomas Edward Angers of Ridgefield, Conn. and Marc Eugene Angers of New York City. Mr. Angers was raised in Springfield, Conn., and was a 1949 graduate of the American International College in Springfield, where he received his Bachelors' Degree in Economics. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Angers lead a distinguished and varied career in business while he and Nancy raised their three children. He was employed as an economist for many years in New York City and finally at the Hamilton Watch Company of Lancaster, Pa. Retiting to Pemaquid Beach, he and Nancy eventually decided to operate a small general store in Castine that they called the Tarratine Market. In poor health, following by-pass surgery on two different occasions while in Castine, he nonetheless managed to thrive drawing strength from the natural beauty of the landscape and from the kindness and generosity of the town's people. Apart from groceries and gourmet specialties at the store, one could always find good conversation and a moment's sanctuary from life's cares in comfort and prayer if needed, but if asked about his health, Gene's trademark response was always, "Fantastic!" Eugene possessed an artistic nature, he loved music, the piano and cooking. Of the latter, his many original recipes became a mainstay and tradition for those who came to rely upon "Gene's Daily Special" at the Tarratine Market. His faith in God and the goodness of His love, touched all of those who knew him and will long be remembered by all of those who loved him. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Rt. 44, Canton, Conn. Jacqueline (Powell) Doucette, 69, of Vernon, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, widow of Raymond Doucette, died Wednesday, (August 31, 2005) at Rockville General Hospital. She was born in Haulton, ME, December 6, 1935 to the late Ora and Hazel (Burtt) Powell. Jacqueline was devoted to taking care of her family. Margaret M. (Porter) Lalonde, of Ocala FL, formerly of Natick, passed away August 29, 2005 in Florida. She was 91. LAPIERRE, RITA A., 83, passed away August 20th in Orange City, FL. She was the wife of the late Roland A. Lapierre. Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Louis and Amelia (LaBontie) Proulx. She was the mother of Roland Lapierre, Jr. of North Providence and Ann Marie Hebert of Orange City, FL. She was predeceased by her daughter Suzanne Cote and her son Donald Lapierre. Sister of Louise Thibodeau of East Douglas, MA, Alice Houde of Georgiaville, Aurora Thibodeau of North Carolina and the late Joseph 'Alfred' Proulx. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Next to her family was her love of auto racing. For years, she traveled to watch her husband and son participate in this sport. WILMINGTON, Del. - Gerard Maurice Renaud, 75, of Wilmington, Del., died Feb. 21.Born in Lewiston, "Jerry" served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 until 1951, following graduation from Lewiston High School.His favorite pastime was figure skating, and he joined the Ice Capades after leaving the military.A diligent perfectionist with an ear for music and an eye for choreography, he was performance director for the Ice Capades West Company from 1955 to 1960, and for the East Company from 1960 to 1961.In 1961, he left Ice Capades to pursue a successful coaching career that would span nearly 44 years, coaching several elite skaters to titles in regional, sectional and U.S. national championships.He served as a mentor to his fellow coaches, openly sharing his expertise. Specializing in the teaching of spins, his students nicknamed him "The Spin Doctor."His passion for skating and life will be missed by the many athletes, colleagues and friends whose lives he touched.He was predeceased by his parents, Sara and Leo Rancourt, of Lewiston.

"Betty" Dionne, 88, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at the Rochester Manor, Rochester.Born in West Ossipee, N.H., on Feb. 5, 1917, the daughter of Guy F. and Ethel (Eldridge) Weymouth, she was schooled in Rochester and graduated from high school there in 1935. She married Albert "Pete" Dionne of Dover.She operated the Strafford Inn in Dover for approximately 23 years following the death of her mother-in-law, Mary Dionne. After her retirement, she worked part-time at the Inn Town Motel in Dover. She resided at Cocheco Park in Dover for approximately 22 years prior to coming to the Rochester Manor.She was an avid bingo player where she made numerous friends in the Dover/Rochester area. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Dover.She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Dionne of Farmington, Irene Dowst of Somersworth; two sisters, Lena Cook, Olive Witham; a brother, John Weymouth all of Rochester; two grandchildren, Christine and husband, Glenn Archambault, of North Hadley, Mass., Darece and husband, Stephen Alley, of Shawsville, Va.; and a great-grandson, Shane Archambault. She also leaves a very special sister-in-law, Alice Weymouth of Rochester; several special nieces including Janet Atkins of Exeter, and Jane Weymouth of Lebanon, Maine, along with numerous cousins and special nephews as well as a special family, Novella MacEachern Dionne of Farmington and Todd and Irma MacEachern of San Diego, Calif.She was predeceased by her husband, Albert "Pete" Dionne in 1971; a daughter, Elizabeth; a brother, Clayton W. Weymouth in 2000; and a grandson, Leonard F. He was a member of the Lafayette High Lions Roller Hockey Team, played hockey at Top Shelf in Youngsville and was a member of many traveling teams. ROUTHIER, Andrew James - Born in Inglewood, California, August 17, 1952. Died suddenly early Friday morning on August 19, 2005, two days after he turned 53. A Memorial Service was held for him on August 23, 2005 at Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito, California. Known to family and friends as Jim or J.R., and to co-workers as Andrew, he was raised in Lancaster, CA, and resided for many years in Big Pine, CA, until he relocated to the Bay Area in 1988. For the past four years he lived in El Cerrito. He was an exceptional musician and played avant garde jazz guitar with such luminaries as drummer, Donald Robinson, bassist, Lisle Ellis, alto saxophonist Marco Eneidi, and the late tenor saxophonist, Glenn Spearman, among ma ny others. He has also played music with musicians Don Bacoch, Walter Herlemann, Dan Lewis, and many others while he resided in the Owens Valley. He began his career in the banking services industry as a systems administrator for TRW in 1995, moving on to Wells Fargo Services where he applied his adroit mind and tireless spirit as a web engineer. He loved his family, friends, home, and cat, Earl, and had recently cultivated an abiding affection for gardening, landscaping and planting flowers in his front yard. He will be forever remembered as a man of transcendent qualities who possessed a great sense of equanimity, humor and curiosity. He is survived by his wife Kathy; and son, Jesse Stewart; sisters, Charmaine Anderson and Michelle Studnicki; nieces and nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by three sisters and one brother, Vera, June, Ginger and George, Jr. She was born in Worcester, daughter of George B. and Julia Etta (O’Leary) Pollinger and lived here all her life. Mrs. LaReau graduated from St. Peter’s High School. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and the St. Peter’s High School Alumni Association. Mae was a devote Christian. She was a full time mom who loved her family very much. MANCHESTER — Helene T. (Paquette) Brousseau died Aug. 28, 2005 at the Elliot Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Laconia on June 5, 1926, the eldest of 13 children of the late Ernest J. and Rhenda B. (Lucier) Paquette. She was a graduate of Ashland High School and the Notre Dame Hospital School of Nursing in Manchester. She served during World War II in the Cadet Nurse Corps, as an R.N. at Notre Dame Hospital (CMC), as well as at the Southern Maine Medical and Palmyra Park Hospital in Albany, Ga. She was also a member of the Nurse's Association of Notre Dame Hospital. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered dearly by her family as caring, giving, loving; always ready to lend a helping hand; she and her late husband Joseph Roland Brousseau, who died in 1974, assisted many of her siblings during their higher education. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Swiesz Toussaint; one grandson; four great grandchildren. She is also survived by eight brothers: Bernard A. Paquette of Ashland and Lake City, Fla., Robert W. Paquette of Bennettsville, S.C., Richard Paul Paquette of Franklin, Joseph Ronald Paquette of Cordele, Ga. and Tilton, F. Andre Paquette of Laconia, Ernest A. Paquette of Ashland, Raymond M. R. Raymond William Miller of New Britain, died Monday, (August 29, 2005) at New Britain General Hospital. Born in New Britain, March 13, 1926, he was the son of the late George and Ora (Bleau) Miller and graduated from New Britain High School. He was married to Mary Ellen (Patnode) Miller on Oct, 23, 1948 in St. Joseph's Church New Britain. Raymond was employed as a sales representative for the Keebler Company retiring April 1, 1988. He was a World War II United States Marine Corp. Veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre from Feb. 10, 1944 to May 2, 1946. He was a life member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3272 in Avon, he was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, a past member of the Church's parish council, was active in church and school activities, he was a manager in the New Britain Little League baseball, he coached Jr. Varsity Basketball at St. Francis of Assisi School and was a volunteer driver for church members. In addition to his wife Mary Ellen, he is survived by his son, Keith Raymond Miller and his wife Melinda Miller; his granddaughters, Nicole Marie Miller and Danielle Lauren Miller, who were the lights of his life. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Henry Durant of Plainville, his brother-in-law Robert LaRock of Simsbury; several nieces, nephews, grand nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Delphine LaRock. SHREWSBURY— Alice M. (LeBlanc) Moriarty, 69, of Lakeside Dr., died Monday, August 29th in the UMass Memorial Medical Center-Memorial Campus, Worcester. She leaves her beloved husband of 49 years, Patrick J. Moriarty; her five children: Patrick J. Moriarty, Jr. of Maine, Maureen A. Johnson and Steven G. Moriarty, both of Shrewsbury, Kevin G. Moriarty of Grafton, and Michael G. Moriarty of Omaha, NE; as well as her 14 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Alfred E. "Sonny" LeBlanc. Alice was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Alfred and Eva (Meunier) LeBlanc, and lived here all of her life. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School and earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in communication disorders from Worcester State College. A retired teacher, Mrs. Moriarty was a speech and language pathologist for the Shrewsbury School Department and for the Irving A. Glavin Regional Center, Shrewsbury. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Worcester. She enjoyed traveling in the family motor home with her husband throughout the United States. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. She was born in Burlington on June 16, 1918, the daughter of the late Robert and Matilda (St. Germain) Kieslich. On July 15, 1940, she was married to Raymond A. LaBarge in Burlington. Raymond predeceased her Nov. 18, 1994. She was born in Holyoke on May 17, 1942 a beloved daughter of the late Ernest R. and Mary E. (Brosky) Graf. She was raised in Holyoke and moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee in 1966. She was employed from 1986 until her retirement in 2000 by the former Kodak Polychrome Graphics Company in Holyoke. She previously worked for the A. G. Spalding Company in the Willimansett section of Chicopee and the former Xidex Corporation in Holyoke. She was a communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. Her beloved husband of 38 years, Robert R. Mainville was Called Home on March 15, 2004. They were married on June 25, 1965 at Sacred Heart Church in Holyoke. She leaves her loving daughters, Dawn E. Turcotte and her husband William of Willimansett and Dana A. Babiec and her husband Matthew of Ludlow. Her four cherished grandchildren, Andrew and Jonathan Turcotte and Kimberly and Jeffrey Babiec. Mrs. Jacqueline Gutwilling died on August 25, 2005 at the Hospice of the Valley in Chandler. Mrs. Gutwilling had been a resident at the Village Oaks in Mesa. Mrs. Gutwilling was born in the Province of Quebec, Canada on July 15, 1909, the daughter of Joseph and Marie Goyette. The family moved to Rouses Point, N.Y. in 1914, and became United States Citizens in 1921. Jacqueline moved to New York City in the 1930s and married William S. Gutwilling in 1938. With the declaration of war in December, 1941, Mr. and Mrs. Gutwilling joined the armed forces. While Bill was stationed in India with the U.S. Army, Jacqueline was one of the founding members of Women's Army Corp (WAC). In 1944 she was stationed in England at the commanding offices of General Dwight D. Eisenhower. After D-Day she was with the first group to enter Paris, working for the office of Strategic Services (OSS). She was discharged from the military at the end of the war in 1945 with the rank of Major and was later promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. She received the Bronze Star medal, and the European, African, and Middle East campaign ribbons. While living in New York City after WWII, she was active in the League of Women Voters. After the Gutwillings moved to Scottsdale in the mid-1960s, Jacqueline was active in the Republican Party and local civic and community affairs. President Nixon appointed Jacqueline chairperson of the Council on the Status of Women. President Ford renewed the appointment. On the local level she served on the Commission of Maricopa County Trial Courts Appointment Commission, and was on the Arizona Women's Commission. Her community work included serving on the Board of Trustees of the Heard Museum, the executive board of the Phoenix Symphony Guild, and fund raising for the March of Dimes. Mrs. Gutwilling is survived by the children and their families of her late sister, Lucille Welling. Mrs. Gutwilling was buried next to her huband William S. MEXICO - Alphonse J. "Fonso" Arsenault, 95, of Grandview Circle, formerly of Brigham Street, died Monday evening, Aug. 29, at his home surrounded by his four special caregivers.He was born on July 8, 1910 in Anson, a son of Levi and Josephine (Richard) Arsenault. He was educated in Madison schools.He was employed for several years as a first class burner in Maine and California shipyards, and retired after 26 years from the Rumford Paper Mill.He was a communicant of St. Theresa's Catholic Church.His passion for reading since childhood continued through macular degeneration with large print books and followed with talking books. He was a very challenging cribbage and chess player, having hand-carved several complete chess sets which he gave to friends and family.He also enjoyed listening to and recording various tapes of music covering an extensive written and recorded library of cassette tapes.After losing his beloved wife, Lauretta, of 63 years, he acquired a computer and taught himself to play thousands of games of cribbage and chess on the Internet.He is survived by two sisters, Regina Barbour of Portland, and Rena Hamel and husband, Eddie, of Citrus, Calif.; a godchild, Richard Hamel of Willits, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lauretta; a son, Raymond Arsenault; a brother, Rene; and sisters, Edna Gallant and Cecelia Arsenault.

Raymond F. Archambault 76 of Pulaski Blvd, Bellingham died Sunday, August 28, 2005 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Martha (Orb) Archambault. Mr. Archambault was born in Woonsocket the son of the late Clarence and Rose (Beaudreau) Archambault. He was a resident of Bellingham for 31 yrs. Mr. Archambault was a Department Manager for the former Ames Department Store in Bellingham for 35 years before retiring in June of 2002. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. LAKE, David Bertram In loving memory of David Bertram Lake, 52 years of age. He lived in Plumas MB. He passed away August 10, 2005 at Neepawa Hospital. He was born in 1953 in Naudeville, Quebec. He lived in many areas across Ontario and settled in Sudbury, ON for many years. He married and had two daughters. He worked at the Sudbury Algoma Hospital for 25 years from which he retired. He remarried on January 10, 1990 to Valda (Berard), mother of two, and in 1998 moved to Plumas MB. Dave continued his studies in engineering sciences and worked at Springhill Farms as an engineer. Dave had many skills including carpentry and mechanics and enjoyed spending time in his workshop. He also enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting. Dave and his wife, Val spent many enjoyable hours renovating their home, continually renewing their landscape with beautiful displays of flowers, ponds and other craftwork. Beloved husband of Valda (Berard) Lake of Plumas. Loving father of Lynn Munari (husband Gianni) and Lori Jeffery (husband Michael) both of Sudbury. Stepfather to Rodney Diotte and Carolyn Wain (husband Albert) both of Plumas. Cherished grandfather of Kallista Jeffery, Matteo Munari, Leo and Albert Wain. Dear son of Henry B. Lake of Sudbury and Eva Wells, predeceased. Dear brother of Martha Draper (Lake), George (wife Amy), Henry "Jack" (wife Lise) and Winston (wife Lynn). Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. A small memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1 at the Capreol Cemetery. Notes: David was an avid blood donor with 144 donations to his credit. DAMIANO, Angelina - It is with great sadness that the family of Angelina Damiano announce the passing of a loving mother and grandmother on August 29, 2005, in Benevento, Italy. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Pasquale (Immocolata), Tino (Julia) of Niagara Falls, Salvatore (Anna), Adriana (Luigi), Antonio (Vera), and daughter-in-law Franca, all of Benevento, Italy. Angelina will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Angelina, Nick (Antonella), Zina (Tom) Hamill, Sam, Eddie, Nick and Luca Damiano (Niagara Falls) and many grandchildren in Italy. TOVENATI (Coulthart), Joan, After a short illness, Joan passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at the Hamilton General Hospital on August 28, 2005. Beloved wife of Leo for twenty years, much loved mother of son Dr. Michael Coult hart (Sandy), daughter Jane Coulthart and son Mark Coulthart. She will be sadly missed by her sister Margaret Girt (Donald), her grandchildren Christopher, Jana, Darren and Sarah and her great grandchildren Tanner, Hudson, Bo and Rayne. Fondly rememb ered by several nieces and nephews, many friends, neighbours and fellow volunteers. She retired from the Lincoln County Board of Education as a consultant in primary education and dedicated her retirement to her community, women's issues, children's education and to her love of writing. At Joan's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Instead her family wishes to welcome all who knew her to join in a memorial service to celebrate her life at Trinity United Church, William St., Beamsville on Saturday, September 3, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Women's Resource Centre, Beamsville would be greatly appreciated.
