Longueville Dale V., from the Twin Cities, longtime resident of Austin, MN, died Aug. 12, 2005 after a hard fought battle with lung cancer. Dale was born on Dec. 21, 1930 in Caledonia, MN. Dale married Etta (Anderson) Longueville on July 16, 1960. Survivors include his wife, Etta; children, Lisa (Randy) Kos, Joe (Jane) Longueville and Jami (Curtis) Dalili; grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Kos, Quinn, Clare and Zachary Longueville, and Carter and Sophie Dalili; sister, Margaret (Melvin) Beardmore; sister-in-law, Laurel Cram; special niece, Rita O'Donnell. Louis H. LeClair, Jr., 77, of Chicopee, MA died Monday, (August 8, 2005) at a local nursing home. He was born in Holyoke, MA, a son of the late Louis and Eleanor (Brogle) LeClair and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. He was a Milkman at H.P. Hood and Agrimart, he retired in 1993. Mr. LeClair was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, and a member of St. Anne's Church in Chicopee. His loving wife of 55 years, Cecile (Gaudrault) LeClair predeceased him in February of this year. He is survived by his son, David of Southampton, MA; his daughter, Cathy Presutti of Rocky Hill; a brother, Richard LeClair of West Springfield, MA; two sisters, Janice Crowson of Chester, VT, and Helen Bouchard of Folsom, CA; and two grandsons, David and Gregory Presutti. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. in St. Jerome's Cemetery in Holyoke, MA. There are no calling hours. CLARK, DONALD WILLIAM The death of Donald "Don" William Clark of Taymouth, NB occurred peacefully on August 13, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Saint John, NB he was the son of the late William B. Clark and Audrey J. (Janes) Clark. He was in his 65th year. Donald was Post Master in Boiestown, NB. He also was the treasurer for the Nashwaak Water Shed Association and was active with the Boiestown Woodsman Museum where he held the position of Secretary. Donald's greatest passion was fishing the Nashwaak and Miramichi Rivers. He was an avid flytyer, gunsmith and woodworker. Don is survived by his wife; Yvonne (Carr) Clark, one son Donald William Clark of Fredericton, NB; one daughter Marilyn King (John) of Burtt's Corner, NB; four grandchildren Sasha, Kathleen, John and David King; four sisters Gloria " Sissy" Shanks (Don) of Marysville, NB, Evelyn Lyons (Marvin) of Doaktown, NB, Bonnie MacFarlane (Bryon) of Lincoln, NB and Marianne Delwo (Ron) of Ottawa, ON; his mother-in-law Ethel Carr of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. RITCHIE, RICHARD "RICK" ANTHONY PAUL - Rick's death occurred suddenly at his residence on Friday, August 12th, 2005. Born in Saint John on March 18th, 1957, he was the son of the late Donald Ritchie and Marie (MacAuley) Totten. Rick was employed with the Canadian Blood Services (formally the Red Cross) for 28 years. He was a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council # 6595 and Past President of his Union C.U.P.E. Local 1655. Rick was a die-hard Habs fan. Rick is survived by his daughter: Jennifer (Joel) Ritchie; son: Scott (Amanda) Ritchie; and their mother and best friend: Janet Ritchie all of Saint John; his companion Tammy Britt Schonmann of Saint John; brother: Donald (Diane) of Saint John; sisters: Donna (Bob) Petrie of Leduc, AB, Carol (Frank) Short, Sylvia (Dave) Gunn, and Pat Ritchie all of Saint John; stepfather: Frank Totten of Saint John; his good friend: Diane Carr and many friends and colleagues and several nieces and nephews. A retail store owner of Fillmore's Grocery for 38 years, he retired in 1983 to garden and assist his wife in her enterprises. Muriel Berryman SALISBURY, NB - Muriel Thelma Berryman, 80, of Salisbury passed away Friday evening, August 12, 2005 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Germantown, Albert Co., she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret (MacWilliam) Berryman. Muriel enlisted in the Women's Reserve Canadian Naval Service (WRENS) during the Second World War and at the end of the war she returned to New Brunswick and studied at the Teacher's College in Fredericton and taught at various schools in southern New Brunswick. With the start of the Korean Conflict Muriel felt the call back to service and joined the Navy serving in Communications and in other capacities here and in London, England with NATO over the next 20 years, retiring as Lieutenant-Commander. She then trained for another career in the Canadian Penitentiary Service and became the Warden of the female division of the Halifax County Correctional Centre in Lower Sackville N.S. Upon retirement Muriel returned to her native Salisbury were she was active in the Salisbury United Church, The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 31, Salisbury, and the Golden Age Club. Muriel had felt privileged to have been chosen to go to Liverpool, England to represent the WRENS at the 60th Anniversary of The Battle of the Atlantic. Muriel will be sadly missed by family, friends and anyone who benefited from her helpful spirit. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Louisette Berryman and nephew, Charles Berryman of Sherbrooke; a niece, Linda Kolesnikow (Andy) and great niece, Stacey Kolesnikow of Peterborough; great nephew, Scott Kolesnikow and great great nephew, Mackenzie Kolesnikow; several cousins and members of the WRENS. She was predeceased by her brother, James. Darrell George Crossman 1945 - 2005 Darrell George Crossman, 60, of Moncton and formerly of Edgett's Landing passed away on August 13, 2005 at The Moncton City Hospital. Darrell was born in Saint John the son of the late Frank and Eunice (Steeves) Crossman. Darrell was a jack of all trades and especially enjoyed woodworking, farming and gardening. Above all things he treasured times spent with his family and friends. He was very proud of his granddaughter, Abigail and his face would light up whenever she came in the room, he was a very special Papa. He will be remembered for his stories and for his great sense of humour. He will never be forgotten. Born in Bouctouche, NB July 9, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Eliza (Rice) Smith. For many years Mrs. Day-Luce was the House Mother at the Moncton Hospital School of Nursing, Nursing Residence. She attended St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Moncton. She is survived by her son, Bill DayLuce (Doris) of Grande Barachois; three granddaughters, Lynn Day-Luce (Marcel Ouellette) of Montreal, Kellie Graham (Dwayne) of Calgary, AB and Janice Day-Luce (Derek Parker) of Montreal; five great grandchildren, Andrea, Nicholas, Olivia, Justin and Autumn; two nieces, Wanda Jonah (Harold) of Hillsborough and Betty Haley (Doug) of Kingston, Ontario; as well as several grand nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was predeceased by her husband, Stanley in 1975; her sisters, Greta Ivany, Margaret Smith, Maude Wilbur and Doris Whitney; her brothers, Bill, Borden and Allie. Funeral Service, conducted by Rev. Rob Salloum, will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 2pm in Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110), 114 Alma Street, Moncton with visiting from 1 pm to time of service, followed by a reception in the reception room of the funeral home. Floyd Steeves Shaffer Floyd Steeves Shaffer, age 83, of K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, formerly of Petitcodiac, passed away, Sunday, August 14, 2005 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born March 19, 1922 in Berry Mills, he was a son of the late Fred and Alice (Steeves) Shaffer. Along with his brother, he owned and operated Shaffer Brothers Painting. He was a member of the Berry Mills Baptist Church and the Elgin Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Florence (Sherwood) of Riverview; son, Stuart (Varee) of Petitcodiac; sisters, Verla Ferguson (Robert), Mayme Johnson, both of Moncton; grandchildren, Cindy Shaffer of BC, Jeff Shaffer of Ontario, Tammy Ross (Jason) of Riverview, Karey Mitton (Jason) of Charlottetown, Valerie Woods (Darryl) of Ontario, Wendy Trainor (Jeff) of Charlottetown, Robert Shaffer of Riverview; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pastor Reg Snell 1923 - 2005 Went home to be with his Lord, on Friday, August 12, 2005, in his 83rd year. Loved by his wife of 57 years, Helen; son, Robert Snell and wife Joanne; daughter, Cheryl and husband Mark Baber. BYERS, DOUGLAS NORMAN - At the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer, Doug went to be with his Lord on August 13, 2005. Born in Saint John in 1937, Doug was the son of the Late Roy and Violet (Fawcett) Byers and was a long time active member of St. John's (Stone) Church and St. Paul's Anglican Church Oak Point. Doug also ran Byers Upholstering in Saint John for many years. He is the dear husband of J. Anne (nee Richards) and is also survived by his stepsons Edward Bacon of Calgary, Alberta, and Charles Bacon of Central Greenwich, NB. Doug will be missed by his sisters Doris Price of Saint John, and Eleanor Foster (Rudi) of Halifax, NS, by his brother Roy Byers of Calgary, Alberta, and by many nieces and nephews. Doug also leaves behind his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gordon and Elizabeth Richards, and brothers-in-law William Richards (Barbara), Charles Richards (Susan), and sister-in-law Evelyn Richards (Gerald), all of Fredericton, NB. FLOYD, F. LAWRENCE - The death of F. Lawrence Floyd of Barnesville, husband of Marie (Totten) Floyd occurred August 13, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born at Bloomfield, son of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Dixon) Floyd. Lawrence was employed with Imperial Oil Ltd. as a truck driver for approximately twenty years. After his early retirement with the company he worked at various jobs in Hampton, Rothesay and Barnesville. Richard Joseph Trager January 21, 1954 - August 11, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home TRAGER, RICHARD JOSEPH - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rick on August 11, 2005 at the age of 51. Rick is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Evelyn, wife Shirley and mother in law Noreen Ordish.
