CRAWFORD, HERMAN After a period of failing health, Herman Crawford of Red Rapids passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family at St. Joseph Hotel Dieu Hospital on August 10, 2005. Born in Arthurette on August 27, 1941, he was the son of the late Basil and Virginia (McCarty) Crawford. Besides his mother, he leaves behind his wife Coleen Crawford (Hollins); his sons Kent Crawford of Fredericton and Kelvin (Sharon) Crawford of Kingsley; his grandchildren Laurel, Kyle, Robert, Alexandra and Thomas Crawford; sisters Jacqueline (Tom) Keefer of Staten Island, NY, Judith (Weldon) Nicholson of Wicklow, Deborah (Dan) O'Connor of Hamilton, ON; his brothers Malcolm (Beatrice) of Calgary, Basil Jr. (Chris) of Pincher Creek, AB, Donald of Fredericton, Daniel of Arthurette. Herman was predeceased by his father and his brother Ted Crawford. Herman was employed as a technical assistant with NB Power for 33 years. He was also the caretaker of St. Machutus Anglican Cemetery in Arthurette for the past several years. Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 11 a.m. from St. Helen's Anglican Church, Licford. Rev. Douglas Painter officiating. Interment will be in St. Machutus Anglican Cemetery, Arthurette. Melissa A. Trites LAKEVILLE, NB - Melissa A. Trites, 21, of Lakeville, Westmorland County, passed away on arrival at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 as a result of a car accident on Veterans Highway. Born in Moncton, Melissa was the daughter of Rick and Margot (Edgett) Trites. Melissa was employed with Asurion Ltd., Moncton, graduate of Moncton High School 2003. She was an avid poker player and also enjoyed spending time with her friends. Besides her parents, Melissa will be sadly missed by the love of her life, Robbie; great grandmother, Helen Welling, Shediac Cape; sister, Natalie, Lakeville, Westmorland County; brother, Michael (Crystal), Fredericton; one niece, Taylor; several aunts, uncles and cousins. BRYANT, JANET (JEAN) Janet Bryant (Milligan) passed away at the Gagetown Nursing Home on Tuesday August 9, at the age of 83. She originally came to Canada as a war bride in 1946 and made one return visit to Scotland in 1994, where she had a grand reunion with her family. Before living at the nursing home Janet was a long time resident of Oromocto and also lived nine years with her daughter Margaret in Edmonton, AB and one year with her daughter Betty in Gagetown. Janet was born in Bishopbriggs Scotland on June 4, 1922. She was the daughter of the late James Milligan and Anne Anderson of Edinburgh Scotland. Besides her parents Janet was predeceased by her brothers George, William and John and sisters Cathy, Helen (Nellie), and Lily. She is survived by her sister Betty (Colin) Campbell of Dumbarton Scotland and May (Alex) Brown of Bishopbriggs Scotland and many nieces and nephews. She was the beloved mother of Margaret (Tim) Babson of Edmonton AB, Elizabeth (Tony) Chevalier of Gagetown and Patricia (Steven) Beaudet of Oromocto. She will also be greatly missed by granddaughter Kathleen Taylor of Montreal QC and grandsons David Chevalier of Ottawa ON and Stephane (Angela) Chevalier of Longueuil QC. Janet also had great affection for the family pets, Sheba, Sadie and Chloe. There will be no visitation at the family's request and the Funeral service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home's Chapel on Friday August 12, 2005 at 7pm. Yvette Vautour 1951 - 2005 SHEDIAC, NB - Yvette Vautour, 54, wife of Eloi Vautour of Greenwood Dr., Shediac, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at the Dr. Georges-L Dumont Hospital in Moncton following a lengthy illness. Born July 19, 1951 in Shediac, she was the daughter of the late Emile Vienneau and the late Jeanne Noel. Prior to her illness she was employed with Acadia Bakery for twenty years. She will be sadly missed by her husband Eloi; two daughters, Lisa LeBlanc (Bill Steeves) of Scoudouc, Linda Melanson (Roméo) of White Settlement; two sisters, Laudia Fougère (Victor Boudreau) and Claudette Vienneau, all of Shediac; two brothers, Roger (Denise), Donald (Eunice) all of Shediac and by two granddaughters, Stéphanie, Mélanie; two god daughters, Nicole, Emilie and by several nieces and nephews. HARNISH, SHIRLEY - Peacefully surrounded by her loving family Shirley Margaret (Flowers) Harnish, of Saint John N.B. passed away on August 10th, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Petersville NB, she was the daughter of the late Berton and Eileen Flowers (Sullivan). She is survived by two daughters, Mary Johnston of Calgary AB, Tanya (David) Dempsey, five sons, Murray (Jane), Jake (Bonny), Michael, Wallace and Troy (Roisin), all from Saint John NB, 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Three sisters Mrs. Josephine (Aaron) Cole of NS, Jane Sinclair of ON, Lucille Wilson of FCTN, one brother Berton (Ann) Flowers of STJH. She was predeceased by one great granddaughter Faith Almon, four brothers Guy, Ralph, Clayton, Donald and three sisters Gladys Coates, Peggy Norton, Barbara Burnett. Annie McGuire May 22, 1932 - August 09, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home She was predeceasced by husband John McGuire; parents Annie and John Hammond; siblings Frank, James, Betty, Christine and Mary. Ann was born on May 22,1932 in Scotland and came to Canada in 1955. She worked for a brief time for Prime Minister John Deifenbaker. After settling in Winnipeg, she worked for CNIB and then moved on to Deer Lodge as a nurse's aide until her retirement in 1992. Ann was a loving, generous and kind woman; she will be remembered for her adventurous spirit and devotion to her children and grandchildren. She will be genuinely missed by all who knew her. William "Bill" James Mansfield January 10, 1928 - August 09, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) MANSFIELD, William James "Bill" - 77, Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 9, 2005, in Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage with his loving family at his side. Born January 10, 1928 in Timmins, Ont., he was a son of the late Russell and Ellen (Pyne) Mansfield. Bill was an electrician by trade and worked at the Halifax International Airport for 30 years. He was an avid hockey fan who hardly ever missed the NHL games on Saturday night TV, cheering on his favorite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the spring and summer he loved salmon fishing and he even got to Newfoundland one summer to fish there. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, the former Winnifred Helen Newcombe; sons, Grant (Linda), Greenwood; David (Sherry), Dartmouth; Neil (Kathy), Edmonton, Alta.; grandchildren, Joseph (Melanie), Matthew, Trey; great-granddaughter, Emily Mansfield; sister, Elaine (Walter) Thibeau, Yarmouth. Ms. Colleen Patterson June 23, 1957 - August 09, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Glenwood Funeral Home Colleen passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with cancer, succumbing August 9th, 2005 at the age of 48. Colleen leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters; Amber (Peter), Ashley, the love of her life Greg Boa. Norbert Boudreau (1938-2005) l'Acadie Nouvelle - 11 août 2005 NIGADOO – À l’Hôpital régional Chaleur de Bathurst, le mardi 9 août 2005, à l’âge de 67 ans, est décédé Norbert Boudreau, époux de Jeannette Lagacé. Il était le fils de feu Thomas Boudreau et de feu Imelda Frenette. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil une fille, Carole (Herman) Bertin de Robertville; deux fils: Ronald de Paquetville et Denis de Nicholas-Denys; quatre frères: Adrien (feu Gertrude) de Bathurst, Yvon de Beresford, Alvin (Diana) et Léo (Lydia), tous deux de Petit-Rocher, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines, oncles et tantes. KAYE, Francis Dan CD, RCAF S/L retired Wartime Hallie and Lanc Pilot with 427(LION) Squadron, 6 Group RCAF, Bomber Command In hospital on August 8, 2005 in Ottawa. Dan was born in Vancouver, September 9, 1924. He attended St. Patrick's School, Vancouver College and matriculated from Magee High School. He enlisted in the RCAF and left home for aircrew training on his 18th birthday, being awarded his wings, his commission, and an overseas posting fourteen months later. Following combat operation and his return to Canada he attended UBC and was graduated with a B.Comm. He was employed in finance and marketing and during this time he flew Vampire jets with 442 Squadron, Vancouver and 401 Squadron, Montreal. He then transferred to the regular force and served in Germany, France, Turkey and Morocco. He pursued graduate studies at Queens and later attended the Richard Ivey Business School at UWO. Following early retirement from the RCAF Dan assumed various consulting assignments throughout Canada, at the Pentagon, and Jamaica. He leaves his loving wife Doreen; his daughter Diane Holm (John) and his grandson Alexander of Dartmouth NS; his son Michael (Shannon) of Phoenix, AZ; his son Edward (Vivien) residing in the Cayman Islands, granddaughter Katie, grandsons Patrick of Whistler, and Benjamin (Megan) of Cantley PQ, and great granddaughter Jordan. Dan arranged for a memorial mass, and the cremation and interment of the remains along side those of his father Thomas, and his brother Terrance in the veterans' section of Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 12 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church, 3092 Innes Road with a reception to follow in the gathering space at the Church. COURT, Alta Grace, B.A. (nee Fisher) 1925-2005 The family announces with great sorrow her death at the Laurentian Hospital in Sudbury on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at the age of 79 years. Alta was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Court (2004), and her parents, John and Beulah Fisher. Loving mother of Jean Court (late Greg Chaplin), Hillsburgh, Edward Court, Sudbury, and Donald (Filomena) Court, Chelmsford. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Emily (Wesley), Kim, Kendra Chaplin, Aaron Chaplin, Adrian (Giovanna) Court, Christopher Court, and Adam Court, as well as her great-grandchildren, Lilly, Kim, and Tomas Court. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Donald) Tambeau, sisters-in-law Edna (late Ken) Redsell, and Lucy (late Keith) Farrell, and several cousins. Alta was born in Timmins and grew up in Schumacher, attending Schumacher Public and High Schools and Queen's University in Kingston. She married Stanley Court in Timmins in 1951. They were longtime residents of Matheson after living for a number of years in Clarkson, Ontario. Besides her family Alta greatly enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, reading, her pets, genealogy, and using her computer. She had been active in St. John's Anglican Church in Matheson. A graveside funeral service will be held in Clarkson at a later date, and her ashes will be interred next to her husband in the Spring Creek Cemetery, Clarkson, Ontario. ARCADIA, Calif. - Lionel Frederick Dube, 70, of North Kauffman Ave., Arcadia, Calif., died at his home, Tuesday, July 26, with his closest friend and partner, Frank Pena, and their church group by his bedside.He was born on Oct. 1, 1934, in Jay, the son of Lucien J. and Juliette V. (Bellemore) Dube. He was educated at St. Rose of Lima Parochial School and graduated from Livermore Falls High School in June 1952.He enlisted in the U.S. Army at 19 in June 1953. He was stationed in Bad Kreusnach, Germany, for more than three years. While there, he married the former Anneliese M. Werner. Upon completion of his active duty, he returned to Maine with his wife and settled in Brunswick to further his education at Bowdoin College. He later graduated with a degree in languages.He moved to California, where he lived for the past 41 years. Playing bridge was one of his favorite pastimes. He was an avid reader and loved classical music. His pride and joy was caring for his two large French poodles.His career spanned more 35 years as a supervisor for hotel chains in the field of nationwide interior decorating.He is survived by eight sisters, Mrs. Norman (Vivian) Gagnon of Farmington, Sister Marie Stella (Anita) of the Sisters of Saint Joseph in Winslow, Mary Ann Dube of Sabattus, Mary Jane Edmunds of Jay, Mrs. Frederick (Julienne) Shaw of Carnegie, Pa., Mrs. Arthur (Claire) Edmunds of Phillips, Mrs. Larry (Elaine) Smith of St. Helena, S.C., and Mrs. Stephen (Stella) Paquette of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Wille V. Dube of New Jersey and John T. Dube of Jay; and his former wife, Anneliese M. (Werner) Prather of Jackson Heights, N.Y.He was predeceased by his parents; and three brothers, Andre, Charles and Gerard Dube.

CHICOPEE - Armand R. Gadouas, 63, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Monday, August 8, 2005. He was born in Holyoke on June 11, 1942 a beloved son of the late Armand Octave and Germaine Charmaine (Taillon) Gadouas. He lived in the Aldenville section of Chicopee for several years before moving to Chicopee Falls in 2001. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and attained the rank of Fireman. He was last employed in the maintenance department for the Whiting Farms Apartments in Holyoke. He was a communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. He played the guitar, the bass guitar and sang in various bands in the area. He was also a member of the Holyoke Turners. He leaves his loving children, Krista L. Robbins and her husband Kristian of the Fairview section of Chicopee, Erik A. Gadouas and his fiancée Tammy-Lynn Brayton of Aldenville and David J. Gadouas and his wife Beth of Chicopee. His three cherished grandchildren, Nathaniel Robbins, Kayla Gadouas and Isabella Gadouas. His dear sister, Diane Charmaine of Wells, ME. His dear former wife, Shirley J. (Duval) Gadouas of Aldenville and his two dear nephews. His relatives and friends are invited to attend his committal service with Military Honors on Friday afternoon, August 12, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street in Agawam. Dorothy R. Gendreau, age 86, of Walhalla, ND, died on Tuesday, August 9, 2005, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Dorothy R. Gamache was born March 20, 1919, at Olga, ND to Arthur and Hermindine (Beauchamp) Gamache. She grew up and attended school in the Olga area. On November 11, 1940, she married Ernest Gendreau at Olga, ND. After their marriage they farmed in the Poplar Grove area, near Walhalla. In 1980, they moved into Walhalla. Ernest Gendreau passed away on December 31, 1992. She is survived by two sisters, Sister Rolande Gamache, Valley City, ND; and Aurice Nichols, Titusville, FL, two brothers, Leonard Gamache, Spokane, WA, and Isadore (Verna) Gamache, Grand Forks, ND; two half sisters, Helen Davidson, Grand Forks, ND; and Marilyn Carl, East Grand Forks, MN; one half brother, Edward ""Pat' (Judy) Gamache, Maple Lake, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Theresa Gendreau, brothers, Romeo and Ronald Gamache, two half brothers, Arthur and Wayne Gamache, and one half sister, Irene Jones. Hermina (Mina) Demers 88, of 95 Wayne Rd. Woonsocket died Tuesday at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. She was the wife of Rene Demers. Mrs. Demers was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Alpherie and Delphina (Provost) Harnois. Mrs. Demers was a clerk for W. T. Grant Co. for twenty four years retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Joseph Sr. Citizens. Besides her husband she is survived by a son Roland Demers of Foxboro, MA and a daughter Estelle Richards of Woonsocket, three granddaughters and two great grandsons. She was also the sister of the late Theodore and Joseph Harnois and Rachel Durand. SOUTH PORTLAND - Yvonne Marie Lamontagne, 89, of South Portland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at the South Portland Nursing Home.Born in Skinner on July 20, 1916, she was the daughter of Arthur and Valentine Lessard Jiroux of Canada.On July 3, 1937, Yvonne married Mr. Leo George Lamontagne in Lac Megantic, Quebec, Canada, who would also remain by her side for the next 68 years. She enjoyed wildlife and was an avid bird watcher. She loved to cook and was well know for her French cuisine, as well as her famous meat pie. She loved spending time with her family and her energetic personality will always be remembered as what made her so special.She was a loving mother to her children, a doting grandmother and great-grandmother, and her spirit for life will be an everlasting reminder to all who knew her of how life should be lived - with love and always in happiness. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Mr. Leo George Lamontagne of South Portland; three daughters, Mrs. Louise G. Dubail and her husband Robert of Waterford, Conn., Mrs. Diane M. Vance and her husband Ralph of Windham, and Mrs. Lucie B. Waltham – Mr. Edmund R. Joyal of Waltham died Wednesday August 10, 2005 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was 83.Born in Waltham, a son of the late Alde and Vizina (LeBlanc) Joyal, he was a lifelong resident of Waltham. Until his retirement, Mr. Joyal was the Recreation Supervisor for the Waltham Parks and Recreation Department. He was also one of the founders of the Warrendale Little League and Waltham Pony League. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army Air Corp.He was the husband of the late Anne P. (Cannistraro) Joyal, father of the late Kevin P. LAFAYETTE - On Monday, August 8, 2005 at 11:52 A.M., Luis Felipe Lamarche-Soto, age 93, was called home by our Lord. As he lived his life, his death was with grace and dignity.A native of the Dominican Republic where he was a Civil Engineer and one of the first University Professors, he was considered a pioneer of advancement for his country. He was a 33rd Degree Mason. Mr. Lamarche-Soto was deeply respected by all who knew him. He loved baseball, classical music and ice cream. His example of honesty and hard work set the precedence for his sons and grandchildren.For the past two years, he has lived with his son, Dr. Maximo Lamarche and family in Lafayette, Louisiana.Mr. Lamarche-Soto is survived by five sons and their wives, Honorio and Margarita, Luis and Alicia, Oscar and Altagracia, Maximo and Marcia, and Roberto and Mireya; sixteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Sofia; both of his parents, Rogelio Lamarche and Altagracia Soto; brothers, Rogelio and Carlos; and his sister, Altagracia.The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Rehabilitation Hospital of Acadiana and its staff for their compassion and support. Alvin "Mamou" Morvant, 75, of Port Arthur passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005 with his loving family at his side. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 12, 2005 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur. A Wake Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday with a Rosary to be recited at 7:45 P.M. at the funeral home. Alvin was born on August 15, 1929 in Elton, Louisiana but spent most of his life in Mamou, Louisiana until he was eighteen. He was the son of Theogene Morvant and Leola Dies Morvant. Mr. Morvant moved to Port Arthur in 1948 and worked at Gulf Oil Refinery for 35 1/2 years as a power plant engineer. He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Port Arthur, a volunteer at the Hospitality Center in Port Arthur and a Holy Hour Volunteer at his church. Survivors include his wife of 55 1/2 years, Geraldine "Geri" Landreneau Morvant of Port Arthur; sons, Alvin Keith Morvant and his wife Tina and John Kenneth "Kenny" Morvant and his wife Jane all of Fannett; daughter, Glenda Champagne and husband Eddie of Port Arthur; sister, Verna Mae Landreneau of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Kerri Ann Ford, Aaron Paul Champagne, Jennifer Vincent, Amy Duplant, Scott Patrick Morvant and Kimberly Russell; seven great grandchildren; Cheyenne, Nathan, Mason, Jason, Natalie, Jessica and Seth; three step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
