ROBERTSON, Captain Bruce William, RCN Ret'd Born in Montreal 22 September 1929, died peacefully on 4 August 2005 at home in Arbutus Ridge, B.C. in the company of his family. Bruce was the beloved husband of Lois McGregor for 51 years, father of Ian and Drew (Christine), grand-father of Craig and Alexander, and brother of Jean Smith (Gerry) and uncle to Ken, Gordon and Pamela. From 1949, Bruce served Canada with great pride in the RCN and CF, both at home and abroad, for 33 years. His career spanned duty at sea in many ships, peacekeeping in the Middle East, and posting to Canadian Forces Europe. Oliver Troock January 25, 1925 - August 06, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Evergreen Funeral Chapel On August 6, 2005, Oliver Troock of Edmonton passed away at the age of 80 years. He is survived by his five sons; Don (Marilyn), Darrell (Tara), Brian (Laurie), Norm (Edith) and Wayne (Lori), 15 grandchildren; Cameron, Riley, Nathan, Tessa, Rebecca, Nicole, Hailey, Braydon, Jessica, Tyler, Blair, Mitchell, Jenny, Derek, and Branden. He is also survived by his brother Douglas, and Dennis and sister Alice. Oliver was predeceased by his wife Alice in 2004. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m., at the Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, ICU Ward. Roy "Roy" Aubrey Redden September 19, 1915 - August 06, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home * REDDEN……Roy Aubrey, age 89, of Curry’s Corner, Windsor, was born in Brooklyn, Hants County, Nova Scotia, on September 19, 1915. He died peacefully on August 6, 2005, with his loved ones by his side. He was extremely well cared for by the loving and thoughtful staff at the Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Hospital, V6 West Wing for the past eighteen months. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Pauline Sweet; daughter, Julia (Patrick) Dooley; sons, Richard (Barbara) Redden and Brian (Pamela) Redden, all of Windsor. Roy also leaves 5 grandchildren, Christine (Glen) Earley, Windsor; Paul Dooley, Moncton; Frederick (Monica) Redden, Grantham, New Hampshire; Allison (Glen) Steeves, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Ryan Redden, Grand Prairie, Alberta and 7 great–grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Myrtle Sandever, Halifax; sister–in-law, Stella Redden; several nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Gladys (Mollison) Redden, Newport Corner; brother, Earle Redden; sister, Irene Smith. Roy joined the Army in 1940, serving in the Second World War as a staff sergeant in the Royal Canadian Medical Corps, in Belgium, England, France and Holland, until 1946. Upon his discharge from the army, he worked for 30 years as a male nurse at the Payzant Memorial Hospital and the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, from 1951 until his retirement in 1981. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Hants County Branch - 009, Royal Canadian Legion, Windsor. Cremation has taken place. A Legion service will be held, 7 p.m. Monday, August 8th, 2005, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., followed by visitation from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 9th, 2005, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Private family burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. COLE, Eleanor Peacefully in the Ottawa Civic Hospital on August 6th, 2005. A quiet and gentle woman who leaves behind her broken hearted husband of 50 years, Donald. She is survived by her devoted daughter and best friend Mary-Ann (Christopher Hamel), her loving sons Donald (Louise), Brian (Sue), Garry (Anita) and Tom (Jackie). She was predeceased by her beloved twin sons David and Richard, who were accidentally killed at age 16 on June 19th, 1979. Eleanor was born in a granary on her parents farm in Camp Morton, Manitoba on July 8th, 1933. At the age of 17, she taught grades 1 to 8 in a one room school house. She met her husband Donald in 1952 and was married April 9th, 1955. She'll be sadly missed by her grandchildren Carolynn, Chris, Tina, Allison, Scott, Jimmy, Jennifer, David, Danica, Sasha and Damon, 3 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa) on Monday, August 8th from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 9th from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel on Wednesday, August 10th at 11 a.m. Interment will be followed by a reception. VATICAN - Patrick Dean Babineaux, 54, died at his residence in Vatican, Saturday morning, July 30, 2005, after a short illness.He was a native of the Prairie Ronde area and lived in the Carencro-Vatican area most of his life.Patrick owned his own business, Pat's Tractor Services, for the last three years, after working many years on the pipeline operating heavy machinery. Melvin Douglas Beaumont, 62, of Vidor died August 5, 2005 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. A native and lifetime resident of Beaumont, Melvin was a cab driver. HOLYOKE - Victoria P. (Caron) Fontaine, 103, died Saturday August 6, 2005 at a local nursing home. She was born in Ware, a daughter of the late Evariste and Marguerite (Deveau) Caron and attended school there. Mrs. Fontaine was a member of the former Precious Blood Church and was co-owner and operator of the former Peltier Paint Store in Holyoke, with her first husband Joseph Peltier who pre-deceased her in 1940. Her husband Leo Fontaine died in 1977. Mrs. Fontaine is survived by her son Bernard Fontaine and his wife Claire of Chicopee, three grandchildren, Ronald Fontaine and his wife Karen of Holyoke, Bernard Fontaine Jr. and his wife Susan of New Jersey and Karen Sikes of Palmer. Her great-grandchildren Christopher, Matthew, Andrew, Michael and Nicholas Fontaine and Ashley and Samantha Sikes and her dearest and devoted friend Claudelle Pinsonault of So. Hadley. Clarence Joseph Duplantis, a resident of Morgan City, passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma. Mr. Duplantis was 90 years of age. He was a native of Kaplan, born to Louis and Marie Duplantis on March 6, 1915. Clarence was the owner and operator of the New Deal Cash Grocery Store. He was a salesman for St. Mary Wholesale. He also served his country being a shipyard welder during World War II. Clarence was a true salesman and one that never met a stranger. He was blessed with the special gift of making each individual he would come into contact with feel as though they were his best friend. He is survived by his four sons, Rodney Duplantis and his wife, Donna, Berwick, C.J. Duplantis and his wife, Lillie, Patterson, Louis J. "Joe" Duplantis and his wife, Sandra, Montgomery, Texas, and Dr. Richard Duplantis and his wife, Charlotte, Lafayette; daughter, Lurlin Thibodeaux and her husband, Denny, Morgan City; and his brother, Arthur J. Duplantis and his wife, Delores, Morgan City. He is also survived by his loving 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Lucille Devillier Duplantis; three sisters and a grandson. NEW BEDFORD -- Darlene M. Hebert, 56, of South Dartmouth died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Acushnet, she was the daughter of Margaret (McCabe) Hebert of South Dartmouth and the late Arthur J. Hebert. She lived in South Dartmouth 17 years; she previously resided in New Bedford. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Dartmouth. She graduated from Perkins School for the Blind, Boston. She was an X-ray technician at Union Hospital in New Bedford. She was a member of the Catholic Guild for the Blind for 40 years and the New Bedford Choral Society. Ms. Hebert loved singing and music. Survivors include her mother; a brother, Thomas Hebert, and his wife, Linda, of New Bedford; a sister, Maureen Cournoyer, and her husband, Albert, of New Bedford; an aunt and uncle, Kathleen and William Buckley of New Bedford; four nieces; and her companion, Robert Faucett of South Dartmouth. Her funeral Mass and burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth.

Betty E. Monette, age 81, of Pembina, ND. died on Friday, August 5, 2005, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. She was surrounded by her family. Betty Johnson was born June 8, 1924, at Park Center, near Neche, ND to Herbert and Ella (Whidden) Johnson. She grew up and attended school in the Neche area and graduated from Neche High School in 1942. On May 26, 1948, she married John Monette at Pembina, ND. They lived their entire lives together in Pembina until retiring to the Pembilier Nursing Center in Walhalla, ND. Betty worked at the telephone office in Pembina, the Pembina Post Office, KCND television station, Motor Coach Industries and Exports, Inc. She was a member of the Pembina American Legion Auxiliary, an active member of Assumption Catholic Church and an avid supporter of all Pembina School functions. Betty is survived by her husband, John; children, Beverly (Tom ) Burke, Pembina, ND; Shirley (Donald) Anderson, Harwood, ND; Bob (Jill) Monette, Athens, GA; Ron (Peggy) Monette, Pembina, ND; Herb (Evalinda) Monette, Weslaco, TX; Harold Monette, Blaine, WA; Judy (Lynn) Schroeder, Cavalier, ND. WEST BROOKFIELD— Lillian Marie (Ortman) Brunelle, 70, of Old Warren Rd, passed away at home, on Saturday, August 6, 2005 after a long illness. She was born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of George and Lillian M. (Fitzpatrick) Ortman. She leaves her beloved husband of 53 years, Raymond R. Brunelle, one son, Raymond R. Brunelle, Jr. of Portsmouth, NH; three sisters, Mary Knighten of Crofton, MD, Margaret Hiller of Bowie, MD, Ann Hiller of Fredericksburg, VA; three brothers, Ramon Ortman of Hollywood, MD, Richard Ortman of Brandywine, MD, John Ortman of Savannah, GA, along with several nieces, nephews and eight God children. She was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters, all whom lived in the Washington D.C. area. Lillian worked many years in the insurance industry as a licensed broker before retiring in 1997. She enjoyed crafts, particularly quilting, needlepoint and crochet, and created a large collection of memorable handiwork. She was a dedicated wife and mother, and made many close friends in the community over the years. She was blessed with an infectious smile and endearing personality which brought much joy and happiness to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed and remembered for her unconditional love to her family and friends. Lillian was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in West Brookfield. Eugene “Tar” Terrien, 76, Ashwaubenon, died August 5, 2005, after a three-month battle with cancer. He was born October 18, 1928, to Bernard and Louise (Kuntze) Terrien. Tar married Patricia Reignier on April 30, 1949. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1945 until 1947. Tar worked at Milprint, Inc. for 40 years and was a member of the United Paper Workers International Union. He was a charter member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. Tar helped establish his neighborhood watch and was a caring neighbor, mentor and grandpa to neighborhood children and was an avid gardener.Tar is the husband to Pat, father of seven: Suzanne and John Younger, Celeste Terrien, Aleece and Dale Dean, Roxanne and Marty McAvoy, Tina and Matt Wauters, Bernie and Lynn Terrien, and the late Jeff Terrien. Lovely, both of Worcester; 5 daughters, Kathleen G. Bartlett of Worcester, twins Laraine P. Kingsbury of Worcester and Lucille L. Biernacki of Harrisville, RI, Sheila J. Bailey of Shrewsbury and Sherrie L. Tarquinio of Hubbardston; a sister, Blanid J. Moran of Worcester; 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. She was pre-deceased by her son, Steven G. Lovely who died in 1974; five brothers, Clement, Gerard, Jerome, Kenneth and Garnett Trombly; and by four sisters, Clare Leary, Miriam Trombly, Valeria LaRose and Mildred Roberts. Gloria was born in Worcester, the daughter of George T. and Katherine F. (Hyland) Trombly. Mrs. Lovely was educated in Worcester and was a lifelong resident. After raising her children, Gloria became a private day care provider in her home, where for 20 years she cared for numerous infants, toddlers and children who affectionately referred to her as "Ma.” She will be remembered for her countless lessons of life, her deep faith, and the many teachings she freely shared with children, parents and all who met and knew her. Her passion in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Albert Temple April 05, 1923 - August 04, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) Albert Temple, beloved husband of Mrs. Mary Temple of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on August 05, 2005 at the age of 82 years. Besides his loving wife Mary, he will be dearly missed by his three sons Albert, Murray and David, as well as his grandson Jonathan. As well as being a great family man, his proudest accomplishment was serving his country in World War II. He served in the Navy on the HMCS Collingwood from 1943 – 1945. Louis Euikyun Oh February 09, 1945 - August 05, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) Louis Euikyun Oh went to be with the Lord after a valiant four-year battle with cancer at the Sarcee Hospice in Calgary on August 5 at the age of 60. Louis was born on February 9, 1945 in South Korea. From 1978 –2001 he served as President of Triwest Trading (Canada). Louis received many distinctions including a citation from both the President of South Korea and the Minister of Trade and Commerce for his contribution in exports; a Distinguished Korean Award from the Calgary Korean Society, and an appointment by Korean President Kim as a member of an advisory group for the North & South Korean Unification Committee. He considered his faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as his greatest distinction and hope in life. He enjoyed the fellowship at Acadia Gospel Hall for the past twenty-one years. Louis is survived by Regina, his beloved wife of thirty-five years; his children Julie (Anthony) Park of West Virginia; Christina (Sung) Lee of Sacramento, California; Eugene and Sara Oh of Berkeley, California; and his grandchildren Ethan, Lauren and Cayden Park; and Jarrod and Abigail Lee. He is also survived by his three brothers Duck Kyun Oh of South Korea, Yong Kyun Oh of Vancouver and Chang Kyun Oh of Vernon. Louis will be warmly remembered for his generosity, humor, and moral integrity. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the exemplary staff at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice. Diane worked at the Dartmouth General Hospital in the Mammography Unit of the X-Ray Department. Her first love was her family and second was her cats, Ssid, Simon, Taz and Buddy. She was an avid collector of cat memorabilia including figurines, picture frames, plush cats or anything associated with cats. Surviving are her husband, Willis H.; son, Graeme W.; brothers, Bruce (Twila), Seffernsville; Keith (Noreen), Lawrencetown; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place.
