WORCESTER— Armond E. Joubert Jr., 62, of 33 Watch St., Rochdale, MA, died of cancer on June 23, 2005 at the Autumn Village Hospice in Worcester. He leaves his wife Diane M. Joubert of 35 years, 2 sons, Michael A. Joubert of Danbury, CT., and Jeremy W. Joubert of Spencer, and one grandchild. He leaves 2 brothers, Edward Joubert of Millbury and Raymond Joubert of Sturbridge. He also leaves 3 sisters, Elaine Larson of Rochdale, Jeanine Greenwich of Worcester and Susan Simpson of Maine. He was born in Worcester, Mass. on Dec. 27, 1942 the son of Helen Johnson and the late Armond E. Joubert, Sr. He was a supervisor for 17 years in the maintenance department of the U.S. Postal Service. He served in both the Army and the Navy. He was an avid computer technician and member of the Boy Scouts of America, being a Scout Master and Commissioner for many years. Donations may be made to the Cancer, Diabetes, or Heart Associations. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Everyone is welcome to attend. MURPHY, Beverley Joan (nee Bissell) (formerly Greenman) Passed away peacefully after a long illness surrounded by family on June 27, 2005. She is survived by her husband Harry Murphy, her daughters; Catherine Greenman, Susan McRae (Geoff) and Lucyanne Greenman and her grandchildren; Ian, Wilder, Brydon, Austin and Selena. Predeceased by her son John Greenman and mother Dorothy Bissell (nee Driscoll). She will be sadly missed by extended family and many good friends. BRIMFIELD - Robert L. Marier, 72, of Willow Cr., died Tuesday at Palmer Health Care Center. Born on Apr. 5, 1933, he was the son of the late Felix and Florence (Roberts) Marier. Robert was raised in Three Rivers and has resided in Brimfield for the past 28 years he also resided in Lake Placid, FL. He was a WWII Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. He worked for TJ MAXX in Worcester in the maintenance department for 10 years, and retired in 1995, previously he worked for Springfield Foundry for 27 years. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Marjorie (Brothers) Marier. He also leaves a son Daniel D. Marier of Bremerton, WA, and two daughters Donna M. Vadnais of Brimfield, and Denise E. Faulkner of Three Rivers also five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He will also be missed by a brother Russell Marier of Brimfield and three sisters Regina Schlesinger of Palmer, Ruth Soglia of Ottis and Olive St. Germain of New Bedford, MA. A Funeral service will be Saturday at 9:15 am from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by a mass of Christian liturgy at 10:00 am in St. Thomas Church, followed by burial in St. Anne's Cemetery. CHELMSFORD -- Cecile A. (Mercier) McLarnon, 89, a resident of Chelmsford and formerly of Lowell, died Monday, June 27, at D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. She was the wife of John P. "Packy" McLarnon, who died Oct. 21, 2000. She was born in Dracut, Feb. 7, 1916, daughter of the late Philias and Mary Jane (Boucher) Mercier. She attended St. Louis Grammar School. Before retiring, Mrs. McLarnon was a waitress at the former BC Restaurant in Lowell. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church and enjoyed playing piano, crocheting and playing Scrabble. Her survivors include seven daughters and four sons-in-law, Mary Mansur of Chelmsford, Patricia and John Amboian of Andover, Cecelia Maille of Nashua, Noreen and Duane Nesheim of Epsom, N.H., Nancy and Philip Thumm of Lowell, Jacquelyn Stowell of Belmont, N.H., and Kathleen and William McCarty of Lowell; 31 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Mercier of Dracut and Jeanette Hubert of California; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Romeo Mercier of Dracut, and Arthur and Shirley Mercier of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews. HOLDEN— Paul C. Bousquet, Sr., 83, of 8 Colonial Drive, died Monday, June 27, 2005 in Knollwood Nursing Center, Worcester after an illness. His wife, Phyllis M. (Nadeau) Bousquet, died in 1990. He leaves five sons, Bruce P. Bousquet and his wife Lydia of Princeton, Richard C. Bousquet and his wife Nancy of Webster, Robert R. Bousquet and his wife Linda of Charlton, Paul C. Bousquet, Jr. of Spencer, David J. Bousquet and his friend Lisa of Leicester; two daughters, Suzanne M. Lamoureux and her husband Paul of Worcester and Denise P. Eressy and her husband William of Worcester; a brother, Gerald R. Bousquet of Worcester; a sister, Janice M. Pontbriand of Florida; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. A son, Edward F. Bousquet, died in 1990 and three brothers, Raymond, Ronald and Charles Bousquet, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester the son of Charles E. and Josephine E. (Dupuis) Bousquet and lived 32 years in Holden. Mr. Bousquet graduated from South High School in Worcester and was a Worcester Police Officer for 10 years. He later owned and operated Bousquet Company, Inc., a newspaper advertising agency in Worcester, for 32 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. George's Church, American Legion Post 341 in the Main South section of Worcester, the Rutland Sportsman's Club, National Day Lillies Association, and the Massachusetts and New England Press Associations. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and served three tours of duty in the Pacific Asiatic Theater. The funeral for Mr. Bousquet will be held on Friday, July 1, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George's Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. Services for Mrs. W.W. Callier, the former Jean Sweeney, 68, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Arnaud officiating. Entombment will follow in Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be observed today from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Evangline Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Thursday at 8 a.m. until time of service. A native of Hattiesburg, Miss. and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Callier died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at her daughter's residence with her family at her side. Mrs. Callier was currently working as a Greeter at Wal-Mart in New Iberia. She was formerly employed with the Daily Iberian and with Lewalds Clothing Store in New Iberia. Outside of her career, Mrs. Callier was a member of the American Business Woman's Association, and enjoyed going to the Casino with her family and friends. But her greatest joy was her family whom she loved dearly. She had a kind heart and warm smile and will be missed deeply by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Renee' Callier Flinn and husband Scott of Parks, Colette Callier Landry and husband Jobie of New Iberia, Dale Mitchell and wife Nita, Mickey Mitchell and wife Catherine all of Baton Rouge, and Vanessa Mitchell of Alexandria; a step-daughter, Nannette Guidry of Abbeville; four grandchildren, Morgan Martin, Laci, Dustin and Taylor Mitchell; three brothers, Wilbert Sweeney Jr. of Virginia, Charlie Sweeney of Texas and Frank Sweeney of Baton Rouge; and a sister, Mamie "Bootsie" Sweeney of New York. Mrs. Callier was preceded in death by her husband, William W. "Whit" Callier; a grandson, Brandon Martin; parents, Wilbert and Mamie Brown Sweeney; and a step-son, Darin Baino. HENRY P. GODIN MONTGOMERY CENTER — Henry P. Godin, 88, passed away with his loving family at his side Monday, June 27, 2005, in Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford from a broken heart due to the passing of his dearly beloved wife, Geraldine Godin on June 8, 2005 He was born June 13, 1917, in Troy, the son of the late Joseph and Regina (Prive) Godin He was a resident of Montgomery Center most of his life, and was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. He was Chief Ranger of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Court 1607. He was employed as a meat cutter at Perry's Market in Richford, and Puffer Lumbra's Market in Montgomery Center. He was also employed at Zack's on the Rocks in Montgomery Center, and at the Montgomery School as the janitor and general maintenance person, retiring in 1997. He was Montgomery's representative to the Vermont House of Representatives in 1949, and was a member of the Montgomery School Board for 30 years from 1949 to 1979. He was also a charter member of the Montgomery Fire Department, and a member of the former Montgomery Grange. He enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and board games. He and his wife, Geraldine, enjoyed working in their flower and vegetable gardens. He is survived by two sons, Dennis Godin and his wife, Sheila, of Essex, and Brent Godin of Montgomery; a step- daughter and her husband, Betsy and David Holcomb of St. Albans; two stepsons and their wives, George and Jayne Carpenter of Enosburg, and Jack and Judy Carpenter of Bakersfield; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Godin of Springfield, Mass., and Leo Godin of Athol, Mass.; a sister, Bertha Hart of North Troy; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Hart of Montgomery Center, and Charlene Johnston of Williston; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Hilda (Gonyea) Godin, on March 10, 1976; they were married on July 22, 1940; his second wife, Geraldine (Tibbits) Godin; they were married on Aug. 20, 1977; and four sisters, Theresa Smith, Gladys Fecteau, Cordelia Allain, and Grace LaFlam. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, June 30, at 11 in St. Isidore Catholic Church in Montgomery Center, with the Rev. Frank Eksterowicz celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Isidore Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 in the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. WEST SPRINGFIELD – Lionel R. "Leo" Godbout, 80, of West Springfield was Called Safely Home on Sunday, June 26, 2005. He was employed as a tire builder for the former Fisk Tire and Rubber Company which was later the Uniroyal Company in Chicopee and retired in 1980. He was born in Saint Raphael de Belchasse, Province of Quebec, Canada on November 21, 1924 a beloved son of the late Abraham and Amanda (Brochu) Godbout. He lived in the Brightwood section of Springfield before moving to West Springfield in 1974. He was a communicant of Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus of All Saints Parish in North Agawam. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the League of the Sacred Heart. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and traveling to visit with his family and friends in Canada. Lionel was a quiet and unassuming man and was the strength of his family who looked to him for his wisdom, guidance and understanding. He was a family man and showered his wife, children and grandchildren with his love and affection. He leaves his beloved wife and companion of 48 years, Françoise M. "Frances" (Bouchard) Godbout. They were married in Val-Alain, Province of Quebec, Canada on August 4, 1956. He also leaves his loving children, Johanne G. Menard and her husband Christopher of Belchertown, Denis J. Godbout and his wife Deborah of West Springfield and François J. "Frank" Godbout and his wife Katherine of Westfield. His eight cherished grandchildren, Aubrey, Elyse, Adam, Luke and Evan Menard, Stefanie Palatino and Jacob and Sarah Godbout. His dear sister-in-law, Doris M. (Boucher) Godbout of Chicopee and his many dear nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his dear brothers and sister, Edgar, Emile, Alcide, Henry, Daniel and Rene Godbout and Diana Pellerin. His funeral will be held Friday morning, July 1, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. from the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, 7 Chapin Terrace at the corner of Chestnut Street in Springfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 94 Springfield Street in Chicopee. His entombment will follow the Mass at Saint Michael the Archangel Mausoleum, 1601 State Street, Springfield. HOLYOKE - Florette A. (Mercier) Lafrennie, 87, died Tuesday June 28 at the Holyoke Medical Center. She was born in Holyoke February 23, 1918, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lumina (Dubois) Mercier. She attended the former Precious Blood School and was a lifelong Holyoke resident having resided for the past three years at the Arbors of Chicopee. She was previously employed at the former Bosbach Cleaners and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Social Circle. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Lafrennie, Sr., who died in 1980. She is survived by two sons, Walter J. Lafrennie, Jr. and his wife Jeanne of South Hadley, and Martin W. Lafrennie and his wife Pamela of Holyoke. She also leaves three brothers, Walter Mercier of South Hadley, Roland Mercier of Belchertown, and Armand Mercier of Chicopee, and one sister, Claire Griffin of Chicopee. She will be sadly missed by eleven grandchildren, Joanne Wanat, Kenneth Lafrennie, Michael Lafrennie, Brian Lafrennie, Dianne Tuttle, David Lafrennie, Linda Dowd, Lisa Wesley, Nicolle DiGiovani, Natalie Poteran and Nadine Skwira, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Donald N. Lafrennie in 2003. Funeral services will be Thursday June 30 at 9am from the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., (Route 5) Holyoke, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church. John R. Violette, 56, of Garden St., Fall River, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at his home. Born and raised in Fall River, he was the son of the late Hugo V. and Jean (Sabik) Violette. He also held several records for the track team. He lived in Redondo Beach, California for 16 years after graduation, where he co-owned a home furniture store and carpet business. He moved back to Fall River in 1989, and had been a real estate broker for many years. He authored the book "Extra Dimensional Universe", on expanded frameworks of space-time, published by Hampton Roads Publishing and due in stores in May, 2005. He leaves a brother, James Violette of Fall River; a nephew, Jameson Violette of No. Dighton; a niece, Wendy Carleton of Tiverton; a cousin, Carol Wrobleski of Fall River a great-niece and a great-nephew. MANCHESTER -- George J. Blanchette, 78, died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at the Catholic Medical Center after a sudden illness. Mr. Blanchette was born Oct. 10, 1926, in Manchester, the son of Alfred and Sarah (Regean) Blanchette. He received his GED through the Navy and went on to serve his country for more than 25 years. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1967 after serving in the Pacific theater of World War II and the Korean Conflict. George was employed at Acme Window Cleaning and then worked as a rigger for L. P. Cote Riggers, where he retired after 20 years. He traveled extensively throughout his life, with both the military and his family. He was a member of the Sweeney Post Color Guard and enjoyed attending their dances. George was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Pauline (Fortuna) Blanchette, who died Feb. 13, 1995. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Alfred Blanchette and Lionel Blanchette. Clark, 89, the former Bernice Bergeron, who died Monday, June 27, 2005, at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Perry R. Sanders, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. A native and lifelong resident of Scott , Mrs. Clark was a member of First Baptist Church of Lafayette. Survivors include one son, Emery J. Clark and his wife, Cindy, of Friendswood, Texas; three grandchildren, Craig Clark and his wife, Sherry, of Slidell, Chad Clark and his wife, Rhonda, of Arpin, Wis., and Christie Schultz and her husband, Keith, of Hockley, Texas; great-grandchildren, Chase Clark, Nicholas Barringer, Cade Clark, Shelby Clark and Jordan Schultz; and sister, Effie B. Hollier, of Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alcide Clark; her parents, Hypolite Bergeron and Laura Blanchard Bergeron; one brother, Sidney Bergeron; and two sisters, Bertha Clark and Lucille Hollier. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and will continue from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. DRACUT -- Rev. Lucien H. Loiselle, 84, retired pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Dracut, died yesterday morning, June 27, at a local nursing home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Lowell, on Sept. 26, 1920, son of the late Herve J. Loiselle Sr. and Germaine (Mitron) Loiselle. Father Loiselle attended St. Jeanne d'Arc School, Lowell High School and Lowell Technical College. He also studied at St. John Seminary in Brighton, and was ordained into the priesthood at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, by Richard Cardinal Cushing on May 4, 1949. His first parochial assignment was at St. John the Baptist in Lynn. He also was assigned to Sacred Heart in Amesbury, St. Mary in Marlboro and St. Joseph in Salem. Father Loiselle later returned to St. Mary in Marlboro as associate pastor. On August 16, 1977, Father Loiselle was named pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption in Dracut, where he served until retiring in 2001. He was currently the senior priest assisting with parish duties at St. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut. Father Loiselle had been active with the Home Schoolers Group. According to family and friends, he had a talent for playing Big Band era music on the piano. His survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Hervé J. and Estelle Loiselle of Nashua; a sister, Sr. Germaine Loiselle, SND, of Ipswich; a nephew, Pierre Loiselle of North Carolina; a niece, Monique Garrell of Pelham; a grandnephew, Daniel Bishop of Pelham; and two grandnieces, Kristen and Beth Loiselle of California. FAIRHAVEN -- David Gerard Bachand, 21, of New Bedford died unexpectedly Sunday, June 26, 2005, as the result of an automobile accident. A lifelong resident of New Bedford, he was the son of Henry and Carol (Moszcenski) Bachand of New Bedford. He attended New Bedford High School and was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. Mr. Bachand worked as a plasterer. He enjoyed automobiles, but most of all he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his daughter. Survivors include his parents; a daughter, Janel Lynn Bachand of New Hampshire; his fiancee, Ashley Furtado of New Bedford; five brothers, Michael Bachand, Kevin Bachand, Keith Bachand, Henry G. Bachand and Ronald Bachand, all of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. Brian E. Chevrette -- March 29, 1957 -- June 24, 2005 -- PORTLAND - June 24, 2005. Brian E. Chevrette, 48, of Summer St. Portland died unexpectedly Friday in Glastonbury. He was born March 29, 1957 in Norwich son of Omer Chevrette of Natic, Mass and the late Anita (St. John) Chevrette. On Aug. 17, 1996 he was married to Joyce Rossi in Middletown. She survives him. Mr. Chevrette worked at Alpha Q in Colchester. Besides his wife and father he is survived by a brother Alan Chevrette of North Carolina, his father's companion Pricilla Fernandes and several nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at the GagnePiechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Rd. Rt. 138 Jewett City. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Griswold.
