LOWELL -- Doris E. (Denomme) Vieira, 85, a resident of Lowell, died Saturday, May 21, at a local nursing home. She was the wife of the late Americus Vieira, who owned Mac's Auto.She was born in Lowell, on June 5, 1919, daughter of the late Arthur and Annie (Demers) Denomme.Before retiring, Mrs. Vieira was employed as an assembler at the former Wang Lab.She was a communicant of St. Michael Church.Her survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Millie and Pete Stalker of Tewksbury, and Janet D. Leone of Weymouth; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Christine Vieira of Tewksbury, and Ronald L. Vieira of Pelham; six grandchildren, Michael and Shelly Stalker, Rickey Vieira, Laurie Smith, Doreen Cormier and Jessica Vieira; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.She was also the sister of the late Ernest, Hector, Dorothy and Henry Denomme. DENNIS— Paul E. "Pulley" Messier, 69, of Dennis, formerly of Marlborough, died Thursday (Jan. 27, 2005) at Cape Cod Hospital in Barnstable after being stricken ill at home. He leaves his two brothers: Charles H. Messier Jr. and his wife Donna of Shrewsbury and John S. Messier and his wife Patricia of Westminster, CO., a sister Marie J. Hill and her husband Roger of Manchester, NH, also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born in Marlborough son of the late Charles H. and Helen V. (DeYoung) Messier and has lived at the Cape for the past 20 years. He was a 1952 graduate of Marlborough High School where he captioned his football team and was selected as a member of the Boston Globe Allstar Team that year. He also played varsity basketball. He also graduated from the former Ward Business School of Worcester. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. For the past 15 years he has been a bartender at the Elks Lodge in Hyannis. Previously was co-owner of the former Case In Eight Pub on Lake Williams in Marlborough and was a former counselor at the Lyman School for Boys in Westborough. Following cremation at Rural Crematory in Worcester a celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday (May 28, 2005) from 2 till 5 P.M. at the Elks Lodge No. 1549, 825 Beares Way, Hyannis, MA. WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Leonard F. Des Roches, 83, of Lake Gloria Drive, West Palm Beach, and formerly of New Bedford, Mass., died Monday, May 16, 2005, at home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Beverly Merkel-Des Roches and the late Joan (Lambert) Joly-Des Roches and Victoria (Josefek) Des Roches. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Alfred and Annie (Horvitz) Des Roches. He lived most of his life in that area before moving to West Palm Beach, where he was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Church. He was a cafeteria cashier at Palms West Hospital until his illness. He and his brother were the former owners of Elite Cleaners in New Bedford. He was a member of the Lincoln Park Roller Skating Club and was an Army veteran. Mr. Des Roches enjoyed being with people, especially his family. He liked the warm weather and puttering around his yard. Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Michelle C. Ducharme and her husband, Daniel, of Acushnet, Mass.; a stepson, Christopher Murkel and his wife, Deborah, of West Palm Beach; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Mikus and Wanda Josefek; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alfred U. Des Roches and Gordon L. Des Roches. His funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church, Acushnet. Burial of cremated remains will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.

DuBOIS, Marion D. (Age 93) - Marion Dorsey DuBois entered peacefully into rest on May 22, 2005 shortly after celebrating his 93rd birthday with his family. He was born May 10, 1912 in Vancouver, WA, the only child of Joseph and Ethel DuBois. After graduating from Vancouver High School in 1931, he attended Washington State University in Pullman. He married Dorothy May Elmgren on June 24, 1939 at Vancouver, WA. They would have celebrated their 66th anniversary in June. He retired from the United States Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel after 28 years, serving at various posts in the United States before a tour of duty in Italy during World War II. Marion started in the grocery business in 1933 at Vancouver, first working for the creamery, then as the Grocery Supply Manager for the Portland Division of Safeway for 16 years. He then worked as the Area Sales Manager of Stokely VanCamp Co. In 1956, he moved to Spokane, WA where he worked for Roundup Grocery Company as the General Sales Manager. He then moved to Tekoa, WA where he owned and operated the Tekoa IGA Grocery Story, from 1967 until retirement in the early 1980's. He moved back to the Spokane Valley in September of 2003. Marion loved spending time with family and friends at their cabin on Lake Coeur d'Alene, ID. He was a 35-year member of the Spokane Club, a member of the Tekoa Golf Club, the Tekoa Chamber of Commerce, the Washington State Food Dealers, and the retired Officers Assn. of the U.S. Army. Marion was known as a die-hard Cougar Fan and a staunch Republican. Other passions included boating, fishing, and playing bridge. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his wife Dorothy at the Spokane Valley home; daughters and sons-in-law Suzanne and Dick Sawyer, Spokane Valley and Debbi and Steve Kirk, Woodinville, WA; grandchildren Tim Sawyer, Kristen Countryman, Derek DuBois, Jill Sawyer, Courtney Kirk and Justin Kirk; and seven great-grandchildren. His son, William D. DuBois, preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church of Tekoa with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. LAWRENCE — William J. Fontaine, 82, of Lawrence, died on Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Lawrence General Hospital. Mr. Fontaine was born, raised and educated in Lawrence, and has lived in Lawrence all. of his life. Before his retirement, he had worked as a carpenter for the former Alvino Construction Company of North Andover, and for Carl Woekel Construction of Methuen..He was a member of Local 111 Carpenters Union, and was a member of the former Sacred Heart Parish of Lawrence. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II.The widower of Camille (Beauchesne) Fontaine, his family members include his daughter, Donna N. and her husband Kevin M. Langer of Lawrence; and his granddaughter, Christina Barrieau of Lawrence.. He has two brothers, Albert Fontaine of Salem, N.H., and Kenneth Fontaine of Lawrence. He has four sisters, Jeanette Rheaume. and Pauline Corneau, both of Lawrence, and Eva Custeau and Thelma Reynolds, both of Andover. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Mr. Fontaine was predeceased by his sisters, Annette Levesque, Yvonne Ouellette and Rita Voisine.. ARRANGEMENTS: There are no calling hours. AGAWAM - Florence C. (Hebert) Roy, 91, of Agawam, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital. Florence was born in Holyoke daughter of the late Napoleon and Dorilla (Gilbert) Hebert. She was a graduate of Precious Blood High School. In 1946 Florence was the Office Manager for Roy's Auto Repair and Sales, in Holyoke, who with her husband owned and operated for over 25 years. She moved to New Port Richey, FL. in 1970 where she made her home until returning to be with her family in 2002. Florence was an active member of the Ladies Guild at St. Vincent de Paul church in New Port Richey. She was a church usher there and for 16 years sewed the baptismal gowns for the babies bapitized at her church. Florence was a communicant of Blessed Sacrement Church in Holyoke. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Armand Roy who died October 27, 1974. Florence is survived by her beloved daughter, Lorraine F. Tully of Holyoke, her grandchildren, Allen and his wife Karen Tully of Framingham, and Michael and his wife Ashley Tully of Bristol, R.I. and her great grandchildren, John and Sarah. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9:30 am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke followed by a mass in Blessed Sacrement Church at 10:00 am. Comeaux, Marion Jacobson A retired East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court archives clerk, she passed away at 6:17 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2005, at her home in Erwinville, surrounded by her family. She was 79 and a native of Madison, Wis. Visiting at Sharon Baptist Church, 9433 Section Road, Port Allen, on Tuesday, May 24, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 25, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Shawn Ostoj. Graveside service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Houston. She is survived by five daughters, Pamela Elder and Janet Holub, both of Texas, Sandra Yount of Louisiana, Tammy Yount of Florida, and Sharon Tassin of Louisiana; a son, Lester C. Yount of Texas; three stepsons, Kenneth Comeaux of Minnesota, Timothy Comeaux of Texas and Bruce Comeaux of Minnesota; 31 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alphonse Joseph Comeaux Jr. and Lesley C. Yount; and parents, Peter Jacobson and Anna Kleven Jacobson. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Elder, John Ross Elder, Darren Holub, Jacob Funderburk and Cody Tassin; and stepson, Tim Comeaux. LANDRY, Ronald "Ron" Joseph, 58, of Hudson, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2005, at home. He was born in Rochester, N.Y., and moved here from Houston, Texas in 1981. Ron was a broker and owner of Suncoast Realty of Pasco in New Port Richey for seven years, and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Hudson. AUBURN— Sylvia O. (LaPrade) Tessier, 95, of Auburn and formerly of Worcester, died on Sunday May 22 in the Lifecare Center of Auburn. Her husband of 72 years, Albert predeceased her in 2002. She leaves two sons, Bernard and his wife Patricia of Worcester, and Russell and his wife Beverly of Paxton; one daughter Gloria and her husband Francis Ouellette of Spencer; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is also predeceased by a daughter Anita who died in 2004. Mrs. Tessier enjoyed gardening and assisted her husband in the florist business at the former Parson's Greenhouses. She hosted annual christmas parties for 1500 employees and guests for the family business; Handy Pad Supply Co. at the Worcester Auditorium. Mrs. Tessier was a participant of Our Lady of the Angels Church where she also founded the P.T.A. Organization. Her son Bernard was one of the school's first pupils. She spent her summers at her home in Chatham, MA and winters in Marathon, FL. Donald R. Pare, 63, formerly of Bridle Path Rd., Southbury, died Tuesday, (February 15, 2005) at his Florida residence. Mr. Pare was born in Lawrence, MA, on March 28, 1941; he was the son of the late Alfred and Yvonne Pare. Mr. Pare was a graduate of New Britain High School and the Waterbury Technical College, with a degree in Engineering. He was a Missile and Rocket Technician stationed in Mountain Home, Idaho during his service with the Air Force. Professionally, Mr. Pare was a Heating and Cooling Engineer specializing in many aspects of commercial/residential diffusers and cooling systems. He recently retired from his position with the Sears Corporation. Donald is survived by his wife Carol; brothers: Larry Pare, Dallas, TX, Lenny Pare, New Britain, Richard Pare, Lebanon, OH; two children in Florida: Michael Pare, Ann Ehler; and three grandchildren: Lincoln Pare, Anderson Pare, and William Ehler. WATERVILLE -- Alyce Marie Poirier Hebert, 89, of Waterville died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at the Augusta Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late J. Emile Hebert. Prior to her illness, Alyce resided at the Sunset Home in Waterville. For several years, she worked as a manager and merchandiser for Sterns Department Store. Her creative and artistic talents were instrumental in the development of the store's domestic and gift departments. Alyce was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Waterville and a charter member of the Parish Council. She also served as a eucharistic minister for several years.From a young age, Alyce believed in her faith and the empowerment and education of women to respond to the needs of our ever-changing society. She served in many organizations that promoted her beliefs. She was a past state president of the Maine Diocesan Council of Catholic Woman as well as a past Waterville District president. She served on the Diocesan board of directors from 1961 to 1979. She was also a past president of the Catholic Junior Guild, the Rosary Sodality of Sacred Heart Church and the Columbus Guild. In addition, she was a member of Mid-Maine Medical Center's Guild.Alyce was born in Waterville on Dec. 24, 1915, a daughter of Napoleon and Albina (Gauthier) Poirier. A son, James Hebert and his wife, Mary Ellen of Charlotte, Vt., and two daughters, Colleen Robillard of Narragansett, R.I., and Cynthia Boyd and her husband, Tom, of Woodstock, Conn., survive her. She was the beloved grandmother, "Grandma Alyce," to her four grandchildren, Amy, Molly, Daniel and Lee, and to her three great-grandchildren, Riley, Benjamin and Jacob. She was a sister to Lionel Poirier of Waterville, Irene Cowan of Winslow, Theresa Blake of Oakland and Pauline LaRochelle of Waterville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.Alyce was predeceased by two brothers, Francis Poirier and Roland Poirier; and two sisters, Helen LaBranche and Cecile Bouthot.Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. Pete sera toujours reconnu pour son bon sens de l'humour et son attitude positive. Durant les hivers son passe-temps favori était de faire la motoneige et durant les étés, avec son plein enthousiasme, le jardinage. Pierre fut un homme devoué à son épouse Diane et très fier de ses fils Michel et Robin. Sa disparition inattendue à déchiré leurs coeurs. Pierre laisse un héritaber riche d'amour et de dévouement. O'BRIEN, Agnes Passed away, peacefully, in hospital, after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer, on Wednesday May 18th, 2005 at the age of 70 years. Sister of Anthony (Renfrew). Predeceased by both parents a very early age. Will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her numerous friends in Richmond who welcomed her daily visits and offered comfort and support throughout her illness. Alberta Teresa Bergeron Romero was born in Krotz Springs, Louisiana on October 23, 1933 to Charles "Ted" and Marie Angelle Bergeron. She graduated from Sulphur High School in 1951 and then attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Port Arthur. She graduated from St. Mary's in 1954 and from 1954 to 1963 pursued a career as a surgical nurse in Sulphur and Lake Charles. She retired from active nursing in 1963. On November 26, 1960 she married Captain Louis J. Romero and set about raising a family which would eventually include seven children, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In 1971, upon the retirement of her husband, L.J. from the Army, she settled in Port Arthur and resided there until her death. Alberta was devout in her Roman Catholic Faith and was an active member of St. Joseph's Parish in Port Arthur. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and always carried a special devotion to our blessed Mother. She made her final transition of life on Sunday, May 22, 2005 as her children, sisters, and other dearly loved family members gathered around her to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Rev. Stephen McCrate officiating. Internment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. After the funeral, friends are invited to Cody Hall for a dinner and to share stories about Alberta. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 P.M until 9:00 P.M Tuesday at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. She is survived by her loving husband of forty-five years, Louis J. KNOLL, Reinhold "Ron" Born July 26, 1918, passed away May 22, 2005. Died peacefully at Walkerville Manor Retirement Home, in his 86th year, where he lived for 25 years and was lovingly taken care of, especially in the last days of his life. Ron is survived by his niece Rosina Laier (Rose) and husband Al, of Windsor. He is survived by many nieces and nephews in Windsor, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Predeceased by his siblings, Katarina Rehman, Theresia Schmidt, Leopold Knoll, Josefa Laub, Anna Weiss, Rudolf Knoll, Jakob Knoll and Adolf Knoll. Ron came to Canada in 1948 from Europe. He worked at Canadian Bridge as a welder, until it's closure. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E.
